Yu Xi is a six-year-old sickly little mermaid. After entering the real world, he looked forward to his first swimming class in elementary school.

The whole class of children trembled as they watched the youngest and whitest new classmate jump into the swimming pool with a splash, swimming smoothly in the azure water like a fish, as beautiful as an elf born in the water.

When he floated up, Yu Xi splashed the tallest and bad-tempered boy in the class on the shore with water all over him.

Knowing that he had caused trouble, Yu Xi blinked hid sparkling little round eyes, his bangs wetly resting on his forehead, and reached out to pull someone to show his goodwill.

So far, I think the story is super cute and sweet. The only thing I can say I don't like so far is how possessive and controlling ML is for a 6-year-old. He tries to come up with ways to prevent MC from swimming in class (I know it's because he has mysophobia and believes it's dirty, but still, he's not the one swimming). He also comes up with ways to prevent MC from joining a swim team for competitions- which in the end MC doesn't want to join so... more>> it's fine.

But ML also tries to intervene in MC's relationships with classmates and kids from other classes, I understand kids can be possessive of their friends, but still. Also, I'm not really sure how I feel about ML being so mature for his age- like I understand the concept and reasons, but he treats MC as though he is much younger and not the same age as him. (Which I guess can also be justified in a way since MC isn't as mature as ML)

It's just a bit conflicting for me, but it's still a cute story so far and I'm sure I will enjoy the rest of it. <<less

To be fair, I don’t like ML’s parents in the main story. That’s “A-straight “ parenting we have.

Anyway, the extras is more interesting to me and how I wish they have their own stories instead xD

Great fluffy read though so I gave it 4!

Complete fluff, no angst or villain. We follow the relationship through the years as they grow up and realize their feelings. MC is tolerant and patient while ML is possessive and doting. The whole mermaid thing doesn’t play a big role. It actually is a more prominent element in the extras.

This is sweet, slice of life teenage love, no villain in the story, fluff, ah I really like childhood friends stories like this where their relationship is straight, no third party intervention.

i actually enjoyed this novel, they were so cute since they were young. The ML is a genius that acts much older than his age. He has ocd and only likes the MC. The MC tries to point out the good things about the ML to everyone so that he won’t be excluded and lonely. They have a really sweet relationship since they met when they were little kids. This is a fluffy story without any real drama.
