Yan Shuyu, a big fan of all sorts of cliche CEO novels, had transmigrated into a book —

In the novel, the wealthy CEO male lead has a villainous stepmother. She put up a front of being nice and tender to him, when in fact she was bullying the male lead with her son. After she had successfully driven the male lead and his father apart, her ambition continued to grow as she attempted to take away the inheritance from the male lead. In the second half of the book, the truth came out — that the father had no feelings for her whatsoever but was merely using the two of them to hone his son’s character. In the end, both the stepmom and her son were sent to jail by the male lead after he took over the family business.

Yan Shuyu transmigrated and became the well-hated villainous stepmother, but she had transmigrated to the time before everything happened, and the male lead was still a foolish child. Only a fool would want to become the stepmother of a foolish child. Yan Shuyu took a longing look at her “assigned husband”, who was pretty much like the Sleeping Beauty, before she quickly packed up and made a run for it.

After that, Yan Shuyu checked out her $250 remaining on her card. She turned to look at her son, who was clinging onto her leg and asking for milk. She wanted to look up at the sky and howl. Is it too late to go back to become the male lead’s whetstone?

I like this quite a bit. The set up is typical "transmigrated into a novel" but the MC is quite zanny. She does her best to raise a child that's not hers & she has no magical cheat and has to rely on her own talents to get a job. The ML is okay so far.

The book version of the ML is a creep and the MC decides to avoid him at all cost.... after they hooked up. The ML is a rich boy and is quite amused by the novelty of a woman who isn't falling all over herself to 'catch' him.

Well, refraining from rating until the story is completed.

Personally, I don't really like the FMC up to this point; especially as her relationship with the ML progressed. It was like, she doesn't give a sh*t about the ML's effort for her (and her son). I don't know if she'll get better in the future tho, let's just wait and see.

So why am I still continue reading this? Of course I'm here for the two little fluffy ball that is the future villain and future ML. Their cuteness is barely enough... more>> to keep me going with this story ? They're just so cute together!! I want more!! <<less

This story is the kind that gets boring really fast while feeling rather awkward and embarrassing at times. It's slice of life but a mostly mundane kind of life.

The MC transmigrated during a night of mind blowing s*x and makes her only intelligent decision in the story and flees the bedroom. Every choice after that is downright dumb and often because she was either manipulated or "frightened" into it (as the ML is very domineering and pretty much forces things). She is written as dense and a little dumb but... more>> it's unfortunately not cute or interesting.

The ML is an overbearing jackass CEO. He literally forces the MC into doing what he wants. Yes he's doting and doesn't ab*se her but it will occasionally come across the she's his pet (or like he's training her to do what he wants). While it was fun to read in the beginning, his attitude quickly comes across as a one note that makes the story feel like it's repeating.

We follow the developing relationship between the two but there really doesn't feel like there is any chemistry between the two. Plus some of his actions would have any sane person running for the hills.

Prime example would be when the MC wanted to move and he basically tricked her into agreeing to live with him. Which is not cool.

The two little buns were cute but both the MC and ML s**ked as patents (leaving a four year old alone at night while going for coffee is definitely a "have child protective services called" kind of parenting style). The kids were also both oddly mature and immature for their ages. My guess is the author probably has very little experience with children.

There are no real bumps in the journey if the MC and ML. The MC manages to solve her money issues easily, the ML pursues her and then we have the twist before their happy ending.

Turns out the fathet of the MC's son isn't dead and comes back to find them. He enters the boy into his family's geneology as his only heir. The MC goes on to marry the ML right afterwards.

And oh yeah, the MC isn't actually a transmigrator, she was born with the memories of her previous life. Turns out the s*x was really mind blowing.

Meh I don't know about this one. The story kind of interesting. I can vouch for it. To be honest, I read it until chapter 257. I guess I couldn't handle it anymore. So like I said, the story is very interesting. I was hoping for more plotline, and faster romance. The romance is not slow, but very slow. FL is dumb, if I must say. I found the FL annoying until the end because she mainly keeps trying to avoid the ML. Like she knew what would happen, she... more>> guessed it, but she still do it. Very s*upid of her. I try to understand her due to her sudden situation of becoming a mother, but it's pointless.

The only charm that she have is being beautiful and talented in musical instruments. The author should be able do a good job if they try to bring her talent in musical instruments up front. Her talent seems to be a unimportant thing that shouldn't even talked about. Also, she quite obsessed with original story, kind of annoying.

It is very frustrating because this novel has a lot of potential. It ruined because of FL's personality. <<less

She kept repeating that she didn't want her and her son to become the villainous stepmother and stepbrother, like in the original novel. But yet she seemed proud that she was familiar with tropes of the genre of novels she reads, but for some reason couldn't figure out that as long as she doesn't go the same route as the stepmother in the novel she can change both her and her son's fate? The villainous stepmother in the novel goaded and trained her son to be just as villainous, yet she herself was not that way and was kind to the male lead; so why the HECK would she assume she would end up like in the novels plotline? She was too s*upid and I can see why her personality and character made people disappointed and give bad reviews.

Anyway, this was unfortunately not a very good main character because her thought process (inner dialogue) made you wonder why was she so unconcientious, vain, and dumb? So leaves nothing to be desired. I give this a 2 1/2 stars. <<less

I liked the novel but disliked the FL - I think I just don’t like silly characters as main characters?I felt like the FL had no substance. The 2nd ML was also treated unfairly. But I loved the kids interaction and liked the way the ML dealt with the FL.

Regardless the other review, I don't regret reading this novel. This girl is so funny, she can create an entire drama in her mind. The story is stable without much conflict and I will drop it here cause I want to read something more exciting. Even so, goodluck to Boss Zhou in courting Yanyan, she's so silly, and I bless you, all the patience in this world so that you succeed!

i can't believe some commenters would say the MC is unlikeable and annoying. Yes, she may be ditzy and long winded and perhaps a bit out of it but it's not so severe to the point that it would ruin the story. I suggest you finish the whole thing before stating comments, in all honesty.

this may not be top rated but it certainly isn't that bad as well. The story is interesting and the take is not the route much taken which was sort of fresh. Although there were some... more>> uncertainties, messy and unresolved things in between, it wasn't so much that it would pose a problem as a whole.

I don’t know why the score is so low, but this was a great story. The Female Lead is one of the most memorable and funniest breaths of fresh air I have ever been graced with reading about. The male character is so sneaky that I will reread chapters to see his plans in action (I recommend reading the hilarious comments of other readers. They’re gold.). The young kids are delightfully adorable and even 98% of the plot is enjoyable without feeling boring or too long. I don’t know if... more>> it’s a five (but the current score isn’t right so I chose it), but it definitely deserves a high four rating. Overall, great read. <<less

Dont read this IF you dont like an MC who is realistically like an ordinary person who is

  • a fresh graduate,
  • single / never been married,
  • obviously never had a child or experience in taking care of child
  • MC who heavily relied on parents
  • not ambitious
  • doesnt know any about business related stuff like stocks or what
In short, MC is barely a young adult who can take care of herself!

The last chapter which is the ending felt very very rush, And it exposed more plot holes. Was kinda hoping for extra chapters but sadly author didn't provide any.

Lastly, can somebody do some fan fiction or something, to give justice to her 1st husband😢 he is so damn pitiful. <<less

I would rate this book a zero if I can. FL is such a hateful character. Almost 50% of each chapter is just her talking about her beauty and how she looks better than everyone else. The FL is just and idiot who cares about herself and she is so dumb, other than looking good she’s a good for nothing.

I had found it enjoyable to read. The FL is quite a unique character she is childish and in a sense naive she try’s to make herself bad but is seen by ML. ML is cold to everyone but her and does things that warms her heart and in a way he is manipulative as he makes her agree to things indirectly.

when I was reading the reviews I had a second thought that should I read or not but I continued reading it and had found it enjoyable.

I liked this novel, it made me smile a lot

I like the FL, she tried her best to be a good mother and made decisions based on how it would affect her son. Did she make 100% perfect decisions? No, but she was honest to herself and the people around her

I also liked the ML

It is a solid 4 in my opinion. I gave it an extra star to bring up the average (its below 4 at the moment)

If you are looking for another transmigration novel where the FL (MC/Female lead) is a white lotus who is extremely beautiful, sweet, and genuinely adorable character who you want to protect and love — this novel is not going to your liking, and the FL is going to be very unpleasant in your opinion.

I believe everyone has gotten so used to this idea of FL being just this kind and lovable character that we seem to forget that not everyone is like that, and just because a person has some self-centredness or narcissism it doesn't mean that they are just inherently bad people who do not deserve to be the main characters of love stories.

Despite being narcissistic about her own beauty and also thinking that just because a man... more>> is beautiful, this must mean she loves him... the FL never treated anyone horribly because she deemed them "not beautiful". In fact, she not once mentioned anyone not being beautiful.

Additionally, while the FL was not exactly the ideal mother material, especially in the beginning, she was also not an awful mother. She kept the "instant son" fed and always focused on his safety and future development. At one point, she even thought that his situation in the future was worse than hers so she focused more on him.

In fact, the felt like she was extremely naive hahaha. She really played into the ML's hands 90% of the time and he had her all figured out from the starting to the ending.

Honestly, trust me, go into this novel not expecting a typical FL and you will think this novel is very good. <<less

  1. Well it's pure fluff and dayli life of a FL like in any other book, ML is great and the kids too... FL is the MC 100% don't be fool by the title and tho she looks like she isnt the best character at first you get to like her the more you read, ML on the other hand stays too 2d to my liking he is great but he could have been better if his toughts where more out there like her BOSS/friend yang, I think I knew him better than the ML over all.

    It felt like when she transmigrated at first she was more a 3d character and the more she stayed in the "novel" the more she became enrolled in the trama and less self awarness and autonomy she had, she just took her part and acted on it just like the rest... Like why did the ML merried her the first time? And why did he did so a second time?? It wasnt specified that their relationship was that good it was even obvios that she had no EQ and hurt his feelings a cupl

    times so why marry?

    Also pour Ye man why was he so pitufull?? It was the only part I didnt enjoy in the entier book

    Overall very entreteining and tho Ive read many many books this one was pretty original for a transmigration-rich-villan themed one I would give it a 3.5 but it gets a 4 because it seems a bit underated

    Also it seems long but the chapters are quite short so it isnt really that long

It's not as bad as the others have rated it, at least for me it still has some enjoyable part.

The writing & translating are good, it made for an engaging story.

The children in every cnovels are laughable lol they are all super 3 year olds--in this case, 5. But so are the FLs & MLs, right? There's no way such a person exists in real life, no matter how relatable, there will be some OPness about them. So i've long turned off my brain whenever children are written. This one... more>> is still okay, trust me.

The story gets boring tho : (come ooonnn it's ch 232 alreadyyy, aaaaaaaa I'm bored.

EDIT: I'm dropping this on ch 237 :') the boredness is real :') and do you know how PAINFUL IT IS TO BE A NON CONSENTING BABY SITTER TO 5YEAR OLDS FOR A WEEK?? Yep, I hate the ML. Cos I know personally how torturous & tiring it is to be a baby sitter/childminder, even when I gave my consent, the kid wasn't with me 24/7, & the kid was 7year old--which, btw, the kids in this novel is aged 5 but actually as capable as 8 year olds :')

So, no more. Too much eye rolls is surely bad for my health. <<less

It's an average story with an abrupt ending.

The female lead is a bit contradictory and come out as with having a fickle personality. She says she lived a comfortable life and was happy to live off her parents but seems to be doing okay living on her own. She does not misses them or worry about them. One good thing is that she says she is young so when she finds of she has an "instant son" she does not seem to suddenly become motherly.

The writer could have left the... more>> part about when she transmigrated because that part was not funny explained and only ended making the story have an unnecessary plot twist. Plus why would she share this info with her ex but not her current partner. They go on to say that the dead husband came back but he remained unmarried even though he didn't love her. Why?

Towards the end her timid nature and off handed attitude becomes a bit boring and you kind of feel bad for the kids. She is not the worst mother and that's it. I can't even say for sure if she actually does love her husband by the end or if it's just more convenient for her to live with him cause he is rich.

The kids are well written but I had one issue. She taught her son to play the piano and he was great at it. So why does she keep thinking that the kid will grow to compete for his step-father's company. In the original novel he doesn't learn piano and has a very low self esteem which is why he keeps fighting his step -brother. This is what I mean when I say that her harebrained nature gets irritating as the plot proceeds.

The story had good pacing until about 250 something chapters and then it just flew. There was hardly any challenges for her to overcome. Even the evil genius kid doesn't seem so genius. <<less

The other reviews' descriptions of yan shuyu's personality, tho some are a bit uncharitable, are accurate. Yes, she's a flippant, carefree, naive character. Basically a silly white sweet character. But for me, the author made it work so that I wasn't annoyed with her. Maybe it's also credit to the good translation.

Anyway. This is a light and sweet story and basically allowed yan shuyu to live life on easy mood.

I gave it four stars because while yanyan is cute, I don't see what the ML sees in her to make... more>> him so enamored. Maybe because she's easy to manipulate? Honestly, she's really lucky that she met the ML, had a good and smart kid, is pretty and talented and was dropped at the perfect moment in the original owner's life. Otherwise, I don't know how she would've survived. <<less

I like Yan Shuyu our FWS female lead. Such an interesting character. Her personality is very entertaining Oh by the way FWS stand for Foolish, White, and Sweet. You'll find a lot slang like that.

I think I see myself having a lot similarities with female lead's personality such as vain, simple minded and foolish. I also kind of a bit goofy. Too bad I don't have that blinding beauty, just your average jane doe. Anyway our FL is very full of luck and everything she do, it's just getting better... more>> and better. You'll get satisfied in everything she do because she never fail.

The story is quite cliche but I don't mind it. Nowadays we rarely found something original. I just think the author and the translator are doing a good job making it enjoyable and interesting. <<less

I can totally understand why the MC acts the way she acts. Before transmigrating, she was not ambitious and was content on her current situation. After transmigrating, she suddenly gained a child. Raising a child while having a mind of child (not literally) is not an easy task and I'm surprised nothing happened to the baby. Plus she also have to avoid having BE. plus her being a face-con is nothing bad. She still has her principles.

The only things is... maybe because I mtl-ed it, I don't even know when... more>> the ML fell in love. The pursuit was unconventional as both of them are single parents. was it because she's not like "other girls'' or because she know how to keep him on his toes. The next thing I know, they're already cohabitating.

but overall, I still like it enough to pass time and didn't make me drop it after a few chapters. <<less
