Waking up, Kim Hajin finds himself in a familiar world but an unfamiliar body.

A world he created himself and a story he wrote, yet never finished.

He had become his novel’s extra, a filler character with no importance to the story.

The only clue to escaping is to stay close to the main storyline.

However, he soon finds out the world isn’t exactly identical to his creation.

Very interesting read from start to finish. Great plot and characters, the world building and story flow was good.

Plotwise, there's many interesting arcs and the misunderstandings between the MC Hajin and others is hilarious at times with Hajin confused most of the times.

The character development of all the characters are really great. Relatable and very human with noticeable growth for most of them.

Only one thing I have to complain about is the ending. It was just OK but not satisfying at all. There are so many things that I want... more>> to find out that is not answered.
Spoiler

Like if Hajin will get back his lost powers or if Nayun will use the regressor stone or if Sahyuk will revive her kingdom or if Suho will remember Hajin.

I read this after I caught up with "The Author's POV".

Well it was a good.

It's plot setting etc

First 100 chapter were pure gold.

School Life, misunderstanding, romance, slice of life Elements I like it very much.

First 100 chapters were good but it just run down the hill.

Things become overdramatic

The only reason I was reading this even though I was kinda feeling bored is for the sake of finishing it.

Overall it was a good : 3.99999999/5

This novel is true to its title. He was an extra.

First off, the only similarity of this novel and Omniscient RV is that they read/write the novel their living, so that means they knew parts of the story; like arcs, items, characters, etc.

I said that the MC was an extra because he did not try to be the MC of this world (although the story revolves around him), he just sticks to the main characters of his novel for SP. Though with the MC's knowledge of various parts of the... more>> novel would make him quite OP, he did not gain most of that and left it all to the original owners of his novel. At least that was what happened in the first half of the novel (then some of the latter half)

The school life of this novel until before

is a 5-star for me.

I can't help but see the connection to HxH, it was obvious. And it kinda affects my read because of this.

Spoiler

The Chameleon Troupe = Spider Troupe, Humanoid Monsters = Chimera Ant, Orden = Meruem (even their personality is quite similar), at some point the 'ressurected daughter of some big character = the blind kid in HxH. And this may be a reach but the Tower of Wish = the game arc in HxH (which for me is a better arc than the Chimera ant arc)

This is my first time reviewing and im not that good in writing in english so bear with my english.

First of all the overall plot is good. It's not your typical Overpowered MC, the MC have a rational thinking. And his not that handsome and the girls in the story are not attracted to him at first sight, they gradually getting know each other. And the ending is very good, I haven't read yet the after story. So overall I reccoment it, this is my first novel that I read... more>> until end without getting bored or dropped. I really don't know what to say anymore so thats it. You will also love the story. Stay safe everyone. <<less

I registered to this website just now so I can write a review!

I like isekai/ regressor/ time travel, reincarnation, transmigration novels, and this on is right up my alley. And Kim Hajin is so cool like u won't believe!!

This novel has 3 arcs in general. 1st arc is school life, 2nd arc is life post-school & tower, 3rd arc is leading up to ending & epilogue.

1st arc is the best for me. It's fresh, it's young, fluff, safe, and light. One particular point in the story perfectly shattered all that... more>> as we're almost 'forced' to move on to the second arc. 2nd arc felt more mature as the characters also grow, more gritty too, yet smart. As for the last arc... well. It's just felt more convoluted and distracting with the numerous characters involved...

Don't be discouraged by the number of chapters, 370+ may seem very few, compared to other novels with 1000+ engaging chapters, u might doubt how well the story can be conveyed with only so few chapters, but it's actually WELL ENOUGH. The few chapters happened because several time skips, and the writer style who skips on some detail. I.e, the writer will show A and B going face to face with a monster, and next time we hear from TV "the monster has been annihilated by A and B" but it by no means distract u from the plot. So worry not! <<less

This was the second "fell into a novel MC knows all about" type of novel that I've read, but it far surpasses others that I can think of, with it only not being able to surpass "tr*sh of the Count's Family, " the first one I've read.

Basically, an author is in writer's block when he's s**ked into his own novel, where the strange unknown being who s**ked him in in the first place is changing the story, pointing out plot holes and poor writing to the author. The author starts... more>> off in a school for heroes, where he took over the body of an average student, an "extra."

If you like Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint, tr*sh of the Count's Family, Regressor's Instruction Manual, The Editor is the Novel's Extra, etc., you're gonna like this, with the only huge difference in dynamic being that the MC in this novel works alone, while in the novel's I just mentioned they usually work in a team. The dude's a straight-up loner turned sigma male, except for the fact that he lets women get to him too much.

I can confidently say that this novel has been a read that I've enjoyed so far, it's fairly original, and I enjoy how much focus the story puts on other characters. There were some parts that I really liked (like the whole exploration of the morality of taking over another's body), and some I didn't really like anything having to do with Chae Nayun) ; however, I'd say it's mostly good writing and plot.

Some things you're gonna want to know about this novel:

    1. It's a harem, but not in the classic sense. Harems may put some people off immediately, and that's fine. Just know that it's tolerable, because women aren't fighting over the MC, and their relationships vary. One woman is his boss, one just a friend with a busy life, one who actually has a crush on him, an "ex" that broke up for events you'll come to see, and one who's actively trying to kill him (so much so idk whether I should include her). What I'm getting at is that it's not annoying, and they're not a main focus in the novel, as in part of a group together or something, they all live separate lives. I actually find his relationships with most of them well-written and wholesome (except that "ex, " screw her.)
    2. There are a couple of "misunderstandings" that happen, and it can be kind of annoying for people who hate those, but that happens only for comedic relief, and rarely is central to the plot.
    3. There are conspiracy theories that still haven't been unraveled 200 chapters in the novel, this thing is COMPLEX, and I find it very interesting.
    4. A high-quality translation, no problems really with reading it.
    5. MC is overpowered, or as I should say, "overgeared, " but he still does go up against hard opponents, as the main "struggle" in the novel is that the one who's made the author's novel tangible made the scenarios significantly harder than what the author had originally written it, to the point where the MC (author) is forced to intervene to prevent characters important to the plot from getting demolished.
    6. It's very original and diverse in the events that happen. It's got its fair share of over-used and under-used aspects, which I find refreshing. There are no gates, no necromancer classes, no medieval-like world with Counts and Princes and stuff, and thus no god-forbid dragons. All of these are great things, but just overused in the world of web novels.
    7. I'm giving it a 4/5 just because it could have been revised more, and because there's one character I just can't stand that really ruins my mood, although she becomes less central to the story later on so I'm able to tolerate her now.
All in all, I'd say read the first 5-10 chapters, and if you like the writing and the characters, I'd stick with it. <<less

Been awhile since I read this on Wattpad. I remember that this story is great and has a lot of great action and deception. I think there is also a bit of mystery.
Spoiler

There are also a lot of nice ladies and the MC does end up with one of them, although the other girls do follow him around so it's confusing if he has a harem or not.

[collapse]

Overall, it was a nice story and I recommend people to read it.

I dont know what to say, it could have been so much more but it was overall a letdown, the MC
Spoiler

lacks everything that would make a good MC, his mindset of "someone else is going to deal with it" is frankly the biggest letdown for me, he's obviously at the forefront of the plot and yet he still doesn't do nearly as much as he should have done in order to deal with the impending doom coming for the "world I dont want to leave" as he puts it.

I have a love-hate relationship with this novel. The first 100 chapters are absolutely amazing. They're easily 5 stars, and even until chapter 250 the novel definitely deserves a 4 star. However, after the Tower of Wish arc the book really goes off the deep end, and fast. It goes from an amazing novel to something you'd expect out of a 1 star novel. It's just... absolutely terrible. The botched plot lines, the random additions of storylines that don't even make sense, and the features that are added just for... more>> the sake of adding words only for them to never even be used, it's just absolutely horrifying. I'd highly recommend to simply read until chapter 250 and then to stop. It's much better to simply imagine your own endings. Despite all this, I'd still say the first 250 chapters, and especially the beginning of the book to be a very good read that I'd definitely recommend. <<less

I enjoyed this novel. Before my emotions dull I'm writing this review immediately after finishing it. An amazing read at the start, I would put it at the level of ORV and SCOG, if only it didn't fall off from amazing to average or decent at the latter half. Honestly, I felt like it was too rushed. It didn't help that it was mostly open ended. So many characters needed their closure, lack of romance scenes, it felt too little, and the little romance we had always ended so quickly and it felt abrupt.

Spoiler

What was even up with introducing Leraje? Felt like she was introduced and forgotten. Played so little of a role. I also heard the side stories s**ked, especially Chae Nayun's closure, she really used the stone and created even more plotholes.

[collapse]

Too many loose ends. I wouldn't say a bad ending per se, but man why do it like that? I wish the novel was prolonged more.

Spoiler

I wish there could be a sequel for this one... Or the latter half rewritten and changed. Maybe even an ending where eventually Kim Hajin can return to Pinnacle world Earth with Byul. f*ck bruh.

It only gets better though it has (in my opinion) a few boring arcs. Time travel Arc was very interesting.

Wasn't expecting such a fun premise/execution. Typical MC plays well into the scenarios and I enjoyed the stories from other perspectives. Works almost flawlessly until the last arc where it collapsed under expectations.

Every arcs change was accompanied with massive tonal shifts. This may throw off readers but I found it worked due to how consistent the characters were. The author excelled in having social problems as well as fights (emotional conflicts were pretty badly made). I thought the powers were cool but some clearly had a LOT more effort put... more>> in than others.

Final Arc:
Spoiler

The final arc was awful. I find myself thinking about it weeks after completing, complaining about one plot point or another. So many things were set up and none of them used. No DP, no previous Boss conflict, no Nayun resolution, dropped Djins, never picked up Devils, training the Queen, 2 souls in the MC's body. So many thing were brought in and it ended in a under performing raid boss finale. When I was approaching the end of the novel I was daydreaming constantly about different fated interactions only to have nothing happened (MC using ice powers, betraying the Boss to train the Queen, resolving Nayun conflict). Compared to the other arcs this would be a 1/5 which s**ked for such a consistent story. I did like the amnesia epilogue though.

[collapse]

Personal thoughts on author:
Spoiler

The author seems to be really good at coming up with character points but fails constantly on execution. It's really interesting to read about Chae Nayun's PTSD and the previous Boss's philosophy. Nayun's significance/impact nose dives after the train scene (which was so cool). The previous Boss was suppose to create conflict with the MC and current Boss but that was ignored. After reading other's reviews this may just been something standard to the author, hope he can improve in newer novels

This is your typical solo leveling, get stronger monster novel but this novel does a lot of things really well. First of all the main character is not op because he technically isn't the main character he's just an extra. He has a powerful ability but others have much greater powers. The way he gets through most situations is by careful planning and strategy. Another great aspect is the moral dilemmas of knowing the future. With a lot of returnee novels the main character will try to kill villain's while... more>> there weak and maybe not fully evil but in this story he really has to think is killing this person morale, It goes into the internal monologue of killing a villain, is this person evil in the present, can I get them to my side, if they aren't evil yet and you cant get them to your side is killing them morale if they haven't done anything yet. There are more similar situations like this for example should I kill a close ones family member if there evil or going to be. The writing for fights is done well with a clear picture of what's going. Finally the main character doesn't have a solution for everything. He makes mistakes and endangers others and doesn't get through every event perfectly. <<less

In all honesty, this is one of the best light novel’s that I’ve ever read. I really enjoyed it a lot and I love the fact that other people besides the MC were given actual personalities. I love his relationships with some of the other characters and how both parties are affected from that relationship.

For example: ... more>>
Spoiler

Chae Nayun: The tension and emotions that come from the relationship between the MC and her after his brother is killed by him is incredible. It adds some much needed death because there’s the MC who feels immense guilt and sadness but knows he did the right thing and there’s her who feels such intense anger and hatred towards him even though she cares so much for the MC at the same time. The MC makes the decision to not tell her the reason why he killed her brother so she can become the strong person she’s meant to be (she would have broken down otherwise). While there were times that I was screaming at my screen for him to just tell her and resolve the misunderstanding, at the same time I saw how it was able to play out better for Chae Nayun.

[collapse]

This novel was really well written and kept me engaged until right to the very end (although there were definitely some harem scares where I thought he was going to gain a harem but thankfully not because all of the girls have actual personalities like Yoo Yeonha. Although on another note, I do remember taking a break from this novel because it got taken down on the site that I usually read it on, and I wasn’t motivated enough to search for it somewhere else. However I went back to it after reading SSS Class su*cide Hunter because I was craving a good ln.

Spoiler

I love his identity as Black Lotus because it created a good mysterious aspect to him. I also loved how much people were thinking he was more powerful than he actually was. It created some cool situations. Although I wish the author did more with Black Lotus because this aspect of him disappeared : (

[collapse]

The one thing that I found really disappointing and unsatisfying about this novel has to be the ending. It literally had me going “THATS IT???!” the entire time. Not gonna lie I was a little upset. I’m not gonna explain it too much because I don’t wanna spoil but I felt that even though I kinda expected it to happen, it still disappointed me. This upcoming spoiler drop down is a major spoiler so pls open it at your own caution.

Spoiler

LIKE KIM SUHO FREAKING FORGOT ABOUT HIM AND IS NEVER GOING TO REMEMBER. It’s making me so sad that no one’s gonna remember him except for the girls. Plus his cool powers are all gone : (Then it ended on sort of a cliffhanger for me.

Anyway, I 100% recommend this to read. It’s a little slow at first but I guarantee that it gets better 10/10 <<less

Story has a very interesting start and middle arcs. However, it becomes more and more unreasonable.

The ending is abrupt and does not make any sense. I am deeply disappointed that readers do not appreciate a true waifu and vote for a boring ending.

The novel is great overall. There are some slight messy points about it though, as in the romantic subplots, if you don't like those.
Spoiler

Kim Haijin, the MC, seems to of had feelings for Chae Najun in the beginning and middle of the novel but that didn't go anywhere. There was also the Guild leader girl and the English princess that showed interest in starting a relationship with him but that never progressed. So mainly it's about the teasing that went on about who he would make progress with that left me stifled.

[collapse]

The different arcs aren't too long or too short for the most part and the story progresses steadily, so it doesn't feel like the plot stagnated. They also justified plot armor by giving him a beyond human level of luck in the beginning, so all things that require chance increased greatly for him. Like if he went to a casino he'd literally never lose even if the other players were blatantly cheating.

Spoiler

The most obnoxious and outright stifling matter about this novel would be the ending. I'm sure everyone's seen the other comments and how he became forgotten by all his friends in the novel world and lost all his skills and stats in order to remain in his novel world forever. Although he ended up being remembered due to the original owner of the body having connections with the people around him, so Yi Byuk and the others remembered him eventually. Although I'm super skeptical about how Evandel remembered him despite having no connection to Kim Chundong.

[collapse]

In short, the novel is great, characters are well made, the romance is a tease until late in the novel, the pace of the story is good, cheats for the MC are more or less fine, and the ending is annoying.
Spoiler

Although the ending was a happy one

At first, it was an interesting premise. The novelist was s**ked into his own story, causing other people to think that he's a reincarnator or a time traveler. His power is cool, how he cannot make it too OP or the payment will be too much. And his plot armor is reasonable. Because he upgraded his LUCK trough the roof, he successfully dodged any mortal danger that come his way.

But the thing is, that unique premise (where he was s**ked into his own story) is its own downfall. The author... more>> (not the MC of this story, but the REAL Author) was allowed to insert any new backstories and enemies whenever they want. Such as, the semi-final boss. Hajin said that this person is a bad guy, but the reason why they're a bad guy was not explained until much, much later. I dropped this story when the super evil guy, who was supposed to be dead, was actually still alive. Like, wth? Where's the clue? Where's the red herring? Where's the foreshadowing???

Spoiler

There's also a couple of scenes that I don't understand the reason why they wrote it in the first place. Such as, Rachel and his abusive coach. What happened after they meet each other? There was no mention of that coach at all in the next chapter. She's just... gone. Then, where Hajin was kidnapped by an enemy, his boss' reaction was frustratingly lukewarm. You can't just gloss it over with 'Hajin messaged his Boss and said that he is okay, she doesn't have to worry about him anymore'. NO! Boss was so scared when you're disappeared, okay? At least give us a small scene where Boss let out a sigh of relief after she knew you're ABSOLUTELY fine :/

[collapse]

The ending is actually good but...

Spoiler

I feel like Hajin's friends should just keep on forgetting him (like ReLife manga ending). It is sad and frustrating. Everything that Hajin did were forgotten just like that. But it's better then. Instead of making a couple of his harem girls to remember him. Because the powerful Hajin became a guy who cannot do anything without his friends, even tho' he still has his daughter with him. Hajin is now dependant on them and... idk. It made him sound weaker

[collapse]

Tldr, very disappointed with the ending. At least there was that one chapter that managed to make me cry like a little baby. "Happy Dream is sad because it cannot come true". Like, dang 😭 <<less
