Waking up, Kim Hajin finds himself in a familiar world but an unfamiliar body.

A world he created himself and a story he wrote, yet never finished.

He had become his novel’s extra, a filler character with no importance to the story.

The only clue to escaping is to stay close to the main storyline.

However, he soon finds out the world isn’t exactly identical to his creation.

I'm not speaking for the majority but I really don't like how this story ended. Although the begining was nothing short of killer and I was so hyped the end wasn't really as good. But overall the plot and even the characters had a unique atmosphere which makes it an addictive read. So o definitely give it a try

TL;DR: It starts really well in the first half but ends like a train wreck at the end.

It starts really well, I'm not a picky reader so anything decently written is enough to satisfy me, and this novel does it pretty well, It got me hooked for 2/3 of the story; and then it happens, there's a sudden drop of quality, it felt like the author had no idea what he was doing; the relationships between characters, the world-building, EVERYTHING gets confusing, and you start to wonder "What the hell... more>> is happening?".

I only managed to finish the main story, I was so bored after the late ~200 chapters that I didn't even wanted to read the rest of the story, it was not a pleasant task to read, and it felt more like a chore, shame on me.

General spoiler for the conclusion:

Spoiler

Everyone gets revived (enemies included), plus all the enemies sudden become good guys and help the same people they are trying to kill one minute ago, it finishes like a children's movie

This novel is mediocre at best, it does not deserve the rating. If not for the ending, I would recommend reading. <<less

I was so disappointed when I read this novel. This is one of the worst MCs I've ever seen, with no personality and no grace, besides him always being underestimated by others and showing that he doesn't really deserve attention, the guy is a total piece of shit. There is no satisfaction when reading, you always have a bitter taste in your mouth. But anyway, if you want something in this style, I recommend “Destroying My Own Novel” from Webnovel, A THOUSAND TIMES BETTER

This novel has too many similarities to HunterXHunter.

It's clear that the author borrowed some concept from hxh and there's nothing wrong with that. But as the story progresses, it becomes too hard to ignore when the author blatantly copies each arc concept from hxh.

Few example:

Spoiler

Spider Troupe = Chameleon Troupe

Both are the most wanted criminal groups in their respective series having more or less around 12 members with powerful abilites.

Greed Island = Tower of Wish

Both are mysterious IRL game that will grant rewards to anyone who completes the challenges.

Chimera Ant = Monster King Orden

Both monsters are main antagonists from their respective arc who have the ability to give birth army of chimera each with different genetic makeup.

[collapse]

Putting aside the similarities, the author way too fond of using constant misunderstanding to progress the plot and relationship between the main cast. At a certain point, the story gets downright ridiculous. <<less

No major spoiler or anything worthwhile revealed.

Sadly I can no longer change the rating, after I rated it once.

NEW RATING> 0/5. yes it is a big zero. read the last evaluation if you wanna know why.

... more>> AND pls DON'T COMPARE THIS GARBAGE WITH SOLO LEVELLING. IT'S An Insult.

I have too many bad thoughts about it. But they all change from chp 13. even though whole plot and world setting is s*upid and nonsense. but still, now I think. I might actually enjoy this novel after the recent reversal.

Initial understanding-

Characters>>>>

#Kim Chundong/ Kim Hajin - MC

beta, no ambition, wanna go back, no immortality-as no ambition.

#Kim Suho- "OG MC"

Sword saint [ Op talent ] and ??? [ Op talent ]

#Chae Nayun- Archer Girl.

#Yoo Yeonha [ I feel like, MC is kissing her a** too much. And not much or maybe no reasoning given for it which is the worst part ]

How is our mc?

Spoiler

MC: Honest, Kind, Help others, Justice - <Useless>

Romance- Confirmed

MC care too much, like really too much about future plot. to the point, he don't even want benefit or anything which can change the future plot. example- if I take that, then future villain won't have weapon, why is this agent who was supposed to be with MC is here? I shouldn't take MC or any character chance.....

i am really fed up with this passive beta cucko MC [ cucko was just for my anger lol ]

[collapse]

---

Disadvantages/Poison-

Spoiler

Read chp 19 - you will know that author is making this MC a super beta. Girls bully him, but he will save them [ which will happen in future, ig you can also imagine such things ]

Read chp 23- MC is too kind. He view this novel world as a real world, even when he has enough evidence that this is a fake world and he is pushed in it by some almighty presence.

So this MC is ultra-beta who cares too much about justice.

[collapse]

---

Final evaluation and important point which might decide your rating>>>>

Spoiler

in end.

co author came and told him, "What a great story, time to go back to your world". He said no, and co author took all his power. He remained in the world powerless, cohabiting with the 2 women.

He was weak even till end. For example, original MC can easily beat the shi* outta him.

Oh, and nobody remembers him. Only one woman, then the other remembers him too.

Co author deleted everyone's memory of him

My rating> 0/5

Unless you want a beta MC who hide behind MC till the end. And in end, loose everything. Then don't read it.

The story was somewhat entertaining but none of the characters were particularly endearing or memorable to me. The love interests were not unique to me and all seemed to be based off of tropes. Like, tsudere big b**bs small brain, ambitious sociopathic ceo, edgy boss with tragic past, 4.0 GPA princess etc. They had names presumably but I’ve already forgotten them.

And just what is it about these intolerable female character types that make them so popular with male writers? Unreasonable, selfish, malicious, manipulative, and often they persecute or take advantage... more>> of the MC. If they didn’t have a v*gina they would be considered villains and gunned down, right?

Whatever.

Anyway, I mildly enjoyed the MC’s climb to the top and the way he exploited the tools he was given to overcome his subpar qualifications. This was the most engaging part of the story so of course the ending upset me.

Spoiler

Due to co-author being an a**hole, 99% of the power he gained was taken away and all the connections he built with the characters were erased because they all lost their memory.

Sir, you are a being with the power to create a world and you can’t f*cking cut the poor sap some slack? You literally dragged him down from a higher dimension and threw him into this world where he built a life. And then you took it all away? For f*cking what?Maybe there was a reason but it wasn’t compelling enough to convince me because I finished this book like 2 days ago and I already can’t remember. I don’t know, it just left a bad taste in my mouth.

TLDR:

Resume (Spoiler Free) :

· Good read if you want to take a break from Cultivation Novels

... more>> · Still this fall into the stale and repetitiveness of Modern Age Novels

· So much Character Banters without even intellectual conversation ("But, MC is supposed to be an Adult!)

· Tropes from those Shounen Roncom Animes (s*upid anime's cliché misunderstandings,

"Hey, MC is supposed to be an Adult!")

· Rewarding on early chapters, punishing on late chapters

· MC most of the times stop thinking like the creator of the Novel, and instead acts as a character of it.

· Turned into a Soap Opera

· Ending? No Comment...

In Deep Review:

Spoiler

As usual, the beginnings are always great, the preamble sold me out with the idea of an Author falling into his work, it hooked me up since the start, and on top of it finding out that someone modified his history was an even biggest Plot Twist on the very first Chapter. He has to earn Story Points (SP) to raise his skill and abilities in a Game Like Powers, the more fame he gets, the more SP he earns, and the stronger he becomes. Also, he can create skill and abilities tailored at his will.

Sadly as many rare novelties around, this one as well blew up on the development of it, and with time, all fell into a shadow of what it was in the early chapters. Moreover, unless you decide to let yourself to fall into the "Sunk Cost Fallacy", or if you are of those who like to end whatever they start reading, you will find yourself being unable to continue the reading until the end.

There were things I did not like with the Novel, so while I was reading I was taking notes of those, which will make this review larger and with many spoilers.

The first thing that I dislike even from the start is that the MC (the Author Character) still wanted to preserve the status and standing of every other character in the Novel. He doesn't see himself as the MC of it, which is s*upid since everyone else but HIM are NPCs, and he needs the fame to earn SP, if you consider that the Original Novel was a failure he should have taken the Role of MC, forget everyone else, and let those NPCs burn. Earning lot of SP would have skyrocketed to the top faster and finish his predicament ASAP.

MC wastes too much time talking and babbling with the MCs, instead of focusing on his things. He claims to be an extra, but he IS NOT, since he meddles with the same MC of the Novel, giving items and information from the standpoint of an Ally, not an EXTRA.

Giving a Virtual Game Plot to a Novel within a Novel? Seriously Author? (Real Life one). At this point, the "Real Life Author" ran out of ideas, and is making his "Author MC" play virtual reality games, throwing out the ship what this everything is about since the beginning. On top of it, he doesn't use his name, knowing that fame will earn him SP.

The best part of the Novel are the moment where the MC fights, at first he is supposed to look OP, but then he don't act like it, since he wants the other Characters to shine, when he KNOWS he gets more points for being in the limelight. He got a Bullet Time Ability and an Ability to destroy Magic Shield, so he virtually should be invincible, and able to kill anyone, but he does not do it. You see MC performing Bullet Time, then he start thinking on things, filling half chapter of ideas and actions he could do, and then the time runs out and he does nothing. It seems that the "Real Life Author" noticed how broken this was, and decided to nerf it, making it useless VS other strong people, but nice to kill large number of monsters.

He wastes times on useless abilities like singing, for a school contest and many other skills that doesn't nothing but convolute the chapters with a lot of text and useless skill that gives meager points to slow down the character power grown (RL Author doesn't want MC to be OP)

Once the MC leaves the Academy everything turns worse, MC does not like to show himself knowing that fame gives him lots of Story Points (SP), the skill points her gets is too few, something like 0.001-0.004 making his abilities progress slowly. Author was trying to milk the history for hundreds of chapters, where it would have ended in less than 100 if you remember the original premise.

Tower Arc was horrible, it was a power up place that the MC did not need, and forked for nothing as chapter milking. It only works because you see the MC picking useless skill and leveling up weird skills, instead of farming SP and create powerful skills like the Sharpshooter one.

After that so much Skip and Skim and in the end nothing worth mentioning...

[collapse]

In Resume, this Novel is a TRAP, tailored to make people waste their time reading random things, with an initial interesting premise that disappears within the first 50 chapters.

I do not recommend it; there are many other Novels with similar settings and better development. However, if you have nothing else to read, try it, but be warned that you will be disappointed after the first third of the Novel.

Create for preteen audience, if you are an Adult (specially over 35y/o) run like the Plague, unless you turn your brain off. <<less

I gave up on finishing this since I got spoiled by a friend about the ending. Ending sucks so much, it makes the entire 300+ chapters seem worthless.

Anyways I enjoyed my time while reading this, I would've given 5 stars but the ending really disheartened me.

My ratings are made relative to other web novels on novelupdates. Five stars means it is in the top 20% of stories I've read on novelupdates, four stars top 40%, three stars top 60%, etc.

Storytelling

This is your standard "protagonist with a video game system" setting. You get the standard pattern of the protagonist endlessly increasing stats, gaining skills, and improving equipment while examining everything and everybody through game-like information box. In the early part of the story, tension is created because the protagonist's stats are so low that he has... more>> to come up with creative methods to succeed despite his weaknesses. But as is always the case with the game system trope, the protagonist quickly becomes overpowered, eroding all sense of danger or tension.

The author leans more heavily on game systems for his storytelling than other novels using the same trope. For instance, his method of starting a new arc is to just heap on even more game-like systems for the characters to use. Pretty much everything gets added. The story begins with the usual stats, skills, and equipment system but as the story progresses quests, respawns, npcs, and even a greed island style card system are thrown in.

As other reviewers note, the author seems to have decided that the best way to advance any given plot line is to create a misunderstanding about the protagonist. Many, many plotlines are based solely on characters coming to incorrect conclusions that the protagonist just refuses to clear up even when he has the mean, motive, and opportunity to do so. Just about every major character has misunderstandings about the protagonist. Some of them are minor and just act as comic relief. But some of them are so major that they put the protagonists life in danger and yet somehow it never occurs to the protagonist, who is supposed to be pragmatic in nature, to clear things up. Instead, simple misunderstandings that could be cleared up with a five minute conversation are allowed to fester and grow out of control for 300+ chapters. It is by far the most irritating part of the story for me.

Characterization

The protagonist himself is not interesting. He has an intriguing introduction but he quickly just becomes yet another vehicle for wish fulfillment with little personality. He does nonsensical things like allow the little girl who he supposedly believes is in danger to wonder about outdoors by herself without supervision for days at time. The characters constantly regard him as some exceptional and good-hearted, heroic figure and yet somehow he always came off to me as more of an as*hole than most of the villains he ab*ses. I'll give you an example. There is one character who is a villain. He knows this character is a villain because the character was a villain in his version of the story. And so he treats this character like utter shit. Constantly abusing this character both physically and mentally, effectively traumatizing them. The thing is though, this character only really does something villainous once in the story before beginning to reform. Even when the protagonist decides that this character might not be so bad after all, he continues his verbal ab*se. Meanwhile, the protagonist is perfectly content with helping out and befriending an ally of his that mu*ders innocent police officers.

Most of the male characters don't have much characterization at all. They have a gimmick or trope and that is all that defines them throughout the story. There are a few male characters with a bit of character development but it happens off screen. The protagonist just notices the changes and remarks "did he change?".

Female characters have more characterization. You get to see their perspective and hear their thoughts fairly often. There is just one thing though. All their thoughts are about the protagonist. And it isn't just your usual female character idolizing the protagonist (though there is no lack of females falling in love with him for no reason). Pretty much every major female character either feels guilt, obsession or similar angsty emotions towards the protagonist. That is annoying in itself but what makes this even more aggravating is that a lot of these feelings are based on the s*upid misunderstandings I mentioned before. The character development of the most prominent female character in the story just boils down to her going from one misunderstanding about the protagonist to another. At one point, the protagonist is given a compelling reason to clear things up with her: If he doesn't, he will die. But even then he neglects every opportunity to do so. This particular female character's are particularly sad because she was actually an interesting character before she contracted a terminal case of endless misunderstanding disease. The author also has this weird habit of making female characters, and for the most part only female characters, suffer. Even background characters find themselves having to deal with depression and misery if they happen to be female.

Translation

There aren't any major issues with the translation. The translators follow good etiquette. Translation notes are presented as footnotes at the bottom of the page rather than placed in the middle of a paragraph where they would break immersion and the flow of the story. Occasionally, the translator will chose not to translate words like chaebol, which is an odd decision. The website is Wuxia World, which means if you have javascript enabled you'll eventually be told you have to register to continue reading. But other than those two minor issues, the story translation is perfectly readable.

Final Thoughts

The most ironic thing about this novel is that the protagonist is constantly faced with how flawed his writing was but somehow the author doesn't recognize he is making many of the same mistakes as his protagonist was accused of making in his writing. For instance, the protagonist is criticized for having an antagonist appear out of nowhere but a major arc of The Novel's Extra is about an antagonist that just basically suddenly appeared with little warning. This type of failure of self reflection happens several times.

Overall, I think the novel is entertaining. But that is different from being interesting. There are many interesting plot elements in the early party of the story but as the story progresses these are eroded away or replaced by far less intriguing elements. The constant misunderstandings of the characters are a plague on the story and effectively ruin the authors attempts to give the female characters depth. The story is worth reading if you want a slightly better version of your standard web novel fare. But it isn't anything that most readers will find particularly memorable. <<less

I have 2 things to say first and foremost.

    • the story before and after 250 or so chapters can be separated in 2 reviews.
    • *exhale* where the hell is my harem graaaah not that I'm for harem all the time, but when the author planted flags with that many female characters that could move the progression barre of a VN's capture target by a whole 50%, a harem should be at the end ! dang it...
now, for the review (binge read it for a whole week) :

story : before chap250 : 5/5 after : 3.5/5

characters : 4/5

world building : 4/5

writing style : before chap250 : 5/5 after : 3.5/5

Let's start with the "before the devilization arc" at around chap250. It was amazing.

The characters were good, the story was interesting, and most of all, the writing was excellent. The events and developments are particularly well planned, with a good pacing, a good time management and all of this with multiple PoV. All the transitions were so seamless, so flawless that you just keep reading while immersed in the story. I didn't want to read anything else because I wanted to be fully focused on this novel.

Really, if you want to see an exemple of a really good writing, you should read this novel till the benchmark (chap250-ish)

The chapters are pretty long, it took me a lot of time to read this, but I didn't regret it one bit for this part.

now, about the after benchmark... you know, it's a little bit like the story was entirely planned and reviewed many times before this devilization arc. But then, the author didn't do the review part anymore and start writing with just the elements he wanted to put in on the spot. Many transitions and plot progressions are forced by author without foreshadowing, clich

s started to appear more often and many characters turned 2D or disappeared completely
Spoiler

I'm sure the author totally forgot lancaster... I'm sure of it.

[collapse]
. I loved reading till chap 250, then between chap 300 and chap 350, I really forced myself, thinking I'm not so far from then ending, maybe the author will go back up for the final. The war on many front was the worst, I skipped a lot of text.

the ending was.. not butchered but still pretty disappointing... the author finished it almost like he just wanted to put an end and be done with it, leaving many plot behind. There's even inconsistencies at some places...

tldr : amazing novel till 3/5 of the novel, really, an excellent read with a clever writing, but really disappointing last 100 chapters. I still want to recommend it because of those first 250 chapters. Be ready for a long ride

It started off extremely great with light misunderstandings and characters with pretty well written emotions. Then the time-skip came and everything started going downhill. The pacing was completely thrown off, fights start getting concluded with few sentences or at most a few paragraphs and backstories start getting shoehorned in randomly. Also the MC rarely fights after the time-skip and there is practically no catharsis from it. The epilogue is fine but feels slightly empty. Readable but enjoyment dips and plateaus after Cube arc.

I am honestly giving this novel a 3 the only reason the first arc or at least I consider it is the Cube arc. (I will only do a few minor spoilers such as the arcs and such but not major ones) At this point, it is literally one of the best novel arcs I have seen so far from any novel from the way it begins and the introduction to the characters and their development and many other things. I would rate this a 4.5 star, not 5 because... more>> of some plotholes of how Cube is the best yet still gets invaded all the time with tons of spies in it and the Korean nationalism which tends to go out of hand.

Now, after this arc with the 3 year time skip, the quality of the novel drops by some it still pretty good, but not as good as the beginning. It drops again during the Tower of Wish arc and continues to go down to an honest 1 rating for me once the whole Orden arc and the Demon arc ends and begins.

I will say the thing that killed me the most was maybe unrealistic of how Korea is number one in the world because it has the most dungeons or whatever and how China and US are depicted as at most third rated with little to no mention of Japan, Russia, Germany, and many other nations that are world power I will explain why I feel that way in the 1 (). Next is the misunderstanding that can be annoying along with the fact that MC made a girl go through mental disorder because of him not telling the truth. I would go on and list more problems but that would take too much time and would open a lot of spoilers, so I will stop here, but if you read the parenthesis below it will explain why I think the world building is, in fact, bad and has little to no sense (my personal opinion and somethings can be wrong or I could not explain it that well.)

1 (I will begin with the author states that Korea is number one because they have the most dungeons or something along the lines and then states that because China and US are spread out they are at the bottom tier that needs help from other countries. First China and the US are very selfish to a certain degree as both would not ask for outside help at all. Second, China with its large population should be able to handle the dungeons because of their large number.

The US even though its spaced out people also has a lot of people in it plus the fact that the people in the US can be kind of crazy or inventive they would at least come up with something a long time ago. You can argue that the outbreak happened around 70-80 years ago but the US was still a powerhouse along with other countries Korea has never been a powerhouse. Now let's begin with Korea being first and how Korea is the standard language like today's English is not realistically possible.

First, Korea would still be split between north and south with the different ruling at this time unless that was completely changed but it never stated it so it is out. Next, even if Korea had the most powerful dungeons the other nations like Japan, China, Russia, and those around would definitely attack it and gain control or monopoly over the land thus they would be nothing more than s*aves.

One of the reasons why English is so widespread is because some languages have common points to English since English is derived from them making it easier for them to understand it while Korean has some similarities to China and Japan but not enough to warrant everyone to study it. It would be more realistic if Japanese or Chinese became the norm before Korea ever did. Korea had no major invention that has shocked the world thus them becoming the best within the electronic field surpassing everyone is no, no unless they kidnap all of the famous world inventors and steal their tech. I would agree more if it was Singapore than Korea.) <<less

BOON:

1. The MC's CHARACTER is RELATABLE in REAL LIFE.

... more>> 2. THE STORY KEEPS GETTING INTERESTING as it progresses.

3. OP Skill WELL EXPLAINED

4. NOT THE STEREOTYPICAL GOD LEVEL MC.

He was just portrayed as super strong due to the timing and circumstances when using his skills. Heck, people doesn't even know that he is just an inch away from fainting because of exessive mana usage. Also, his image was glorified by allies and enemies alike, either to ride the bus with him or to put him in a difficult spot.

5. SIDE CHARACTERS are WELL DEFINED, and has IMPORTANT and RELEVANT ROLES in the story.

6. BALANCED GENRE APPLICATION

7. GOOD TRANSLATION

BANE:

1. TOO MUCH KOREAN NAMES THAT SOUNDS ALIKE or has the SAME FIRST NAME.

EG. KIM something name is like cabbages in the story. I mostly get confused on who's Kim character is this Kim again? Even the MC's name has a Kim on it.

Author's naming sense is so POOR, that you might think his whole family, relatives, neighbors, and even their cat's name, has a KIM on it.

Like Kim Meowmeow or something.

PS: (i can't stop posting these words/phrases)

- IceKIM

-KIM on, hurry up!

-Where do you KIM from?

-KIMistry

-KIMinology

-KIMpartment

-KIMping

-KIMpfire

-KIMunity.

Muhaha. Peace Mr/Ms Author, Editor, and Translator

2. MC likes to KEEP PROBLEMS to HIMSELF. Which at some point gets annoying. It's not like he has STD. He's like walking in the path of MARTYRDOM which im not quite fond of.

3. A Heroine potential "Chae Nayun" is like my Ex. GF. Selfish and annoying. Well, I think she developed into this kind of character because the MC kept the truth to himself. What a letdown. This is 4* for me, sadly my hand slipped and pressed 5*, tsk! <<less

TNE is definitely the best story on wuxiaworld right now. The concept of transmigration is done in a very interesting way, the protagonist being the "creator" of the world he is in. The characters are well designed and the character interactions are great (imo the best part of the story). The fighting scenes and abilities have high potential but is pretty lackluster because it's not the central theme of the novel. For the korean drama lovers, this is their novel because the main focus is not on the fights/abilities but... more>> on the drama, character's past, ships and all the misunderstandings LOL. Honestly, the only korean novel with amazing fight scenes is The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor.

Spoiler

I do have one big flaw with this novel which is that it isn't well paced. Like someone else said, after the first 100 chapters with the school arc, the author just seems to be rushing. I don't like it. When kim hajin left the academy to join the Chameleon Troupe, that was a great opportunity to develop his abilities, create motivation for his friends and flesh out characters. The story could've alternated between the perspective of kim hajin in life threatening situations as a mercenary, and his friends still in the academy, showing the gap getting bigger. Honestly, the author had no right to use a 3 year time skip. One piece (manga) went 100s of chapters after all the characters were fleshed out before using the time skip to grow stronger. This is unacceptable and is what prevents TNE from being a masterpiece.

btw, Evandel is by far the best character in the story. Her cuteness level over 9000 <<less

It's a decent read, not bad but not great either. It does have decent plot and no plot holes that sticks out when reading. Basically, it's worth the time spend reading.

I think there are enough reviews to make people decide whether they want to read The Novel's Extra or not by telling them this novels good and bad points, so I am not going to bother reviewing this in depth.

What I want to talk about is this; This novel is definitely easily a level above about %96-97 of the stories in this site.

If you don't like this novel, that is absolutely fine because everyone has different tastes. But if you say this novel is bad or it has lacking/bad character... more>> development then there is something wrong you're doing. This novel is easily among the best in this site in terms of character development and plot pacing so if you are complaining about those elements of this story, then you shouldn't even be reading novels on NU because like I said before, AT LEAST %96-97 of the novels in this site are worse than this novel (probably even more of them).

You can't just be reading hundreds of novels on NU, rate crappy stories 3-4 stars because you started reading them without any expectations knowing they are going to be crappy and then go to a actually good novel like this and give it a 2 star rating because of a couple of small flaws in a generally great story. It just doesn't make sense. It's exactly because people do that type of sh*t that we have novels that a 9 year old could write with 4.5 star ratings while amazing novels sometimes barely get 4-4.2 stars because everyone compares them to LOTR or Harry Potter or something...

Also, I don't know why people are complaining about the protagonist of this story (not the MC of the novel in it). People say that he has no personality, he doesn't go through any character development or events that we readers didn't know of suddenly appear before him and he seems to know what to do perfectly or something. I'll say this much, they are bullsh**ting. Protagonist acts exactly like a human with his personality would act like and he goes through some amazing developments as a character (seriously, him from the start and him from ch.150 is like completely different in attitude because he grew so much). And there are also people complaining about how he acts despite this being his own novel; well if they paid attention to the story, protagonist stopped relying on his future knowledge around 100th-110th chapter. Because until then, the changes he made were small and he knew that not much changed in the future even with his presence but when he started making big changes by joining and/or helping big organizations he knew that he can no longer rely on his future knowledge except for some outlines and places that he can find something or someone at, so he started acting more freely, more like an actual MC rather than the manipulative type he was in the begininning. So I really don't understand why people complain about what he does with his knowledge of the future. He does everything he can and considering how weak he is in terms of power level, I think he's been doing great. <<less

Story about author of novel that get into his own novel world, instead become main character, he just become kind of side character.

MC are not pushover, not revenger, or not righteous character. He just want to make sure the storyline fine to end. He use advantage of his knowledge of novel world to make him rich and everything fine, altho its not like the novel came to as he like predicted anyway (its seems the novel rewritten). And lastly, he is not OP but reasonable strong.

Talk about character, they are... more>> has detail and attitude, so its superb. They had feeling too like afraid, doubt, anger, envy, development etc. One things, they also felt doubt about MC power. Something thats really rare to find other character care about MC power lmao.

About pace, its good altho sometimes its jump out (like he's promised next week, and the next chapter in next week) but by any mean im not say its bad. Plot, altho MC created the world he cant really predict it which is somehow felt original and unique. World building, clearly detailed describe so far for me, I had no complaint.

Overall its very enjoyable that I have fun to read so far. 5/5 no doubt for me.

-per chapter 124

Completed

it was good read, but toward end author repeat same mistake as he did in previous novel.. Make the MC somehow forgotten and start a new life. I'm expect more satisfying ending.. But cant be helped.

Also plot toward end is rushed and mess up, basically full of unnecessary plot driving.. As MC keep going into other dimension and dimension, and theres a lot stuff isnt explained yet.

Author promise to make a side story, which im hope it could answer all plot holes.

Overall now, it wasnt really enjoyable toward end tbh, but it did on earlier part of novel.

I'm not used to write reviews because I'm not that good at writing english but I will try my best there because this is probably the best novel i've ever read. I will not write spoilers and I will be as generic as possible.

Plot: 5/5

the story is fantastic. Perhaps this type of novel has already been seen often, but I can assure you that the way it is written will leave you absolutely satisfied. I've been reading novel for about 3 years assiduously and it's the first time since so... more>> long that I'm so enraptured by the plot to the point of updating the page of the last chapter as I used to do a few years ago ;D.

characters: 6/5

this is probably the best point of the novel

I can not use another word that alive to describe the characters in this story. Each character has his own emotions and his own growth, and the romantic relationships that we often find hasty and senseless in other stories, here they are developed in the best possible way, as the girls have their own considerations and do not fall immediately at the feet of the protagonist but their relationship is built with time and often does not go the way one expects.

if there is a point that I found in other reviews on which I do not agree is the behavior of the protagonist (kim hajin).

I often read reviews in which he is criticized because he is not efficient in his actions or is not the behavior that he should have taken in that particular situation, but in my opinion we must also think about the emotions that someone can experience in such a situation and it is easy for the reader to be able to indicate the best way to deal with a situation when we have an external point of view. Maybe it's true that the growth of the protagonist is slower than the other characters but I think this point will be resolved in the future based on the direction that the story is taking.

Writing: No comment about that cause I should read the story in Korean to give a satisfactory review but I am not able at the moment :P

world building: 4/5

nothing special in this field because the story is set in a futuristic korea that we have already seen in other stories of this kind where there are dungeons and other elements typical of the virtual world. He does his job.

Final considerations: 5/5

why are not you already reading the novel?

New favorite novel. I devoured the current 64 chapters in one night. It's a pretty standard setting of an author s**ked into the world he's written and going from weak-to-strong with the help of a system, but novels like this remind me that tropes don't feel tired as long as they're well-written with quality characters that feel like they have their own motivations and personalities.

The novel is lacking a few things, such as competent villains, but the large and diverse cast of students, adults scouting them out to be future... more>> Heroes, and various underground organizations of varying shadiness make that easy to ignore.

Despite being massively overpowered and generally acknowledged as such by other characters, competent foreshadowing and fairly intelligent decisions by him make it feel like he's earning his powerups rather than them being just given them on a silver platter. It helps a lot that he actually seems to be a lot more powerful than he is just because his skillset and cheat break the rules of the world, and he uses his powerset reasonably intelligently. In a lot of ways, his system is completely broken in that it can do virtually anything - his cheat/system is Author Power in being able to rewrite the world, but it basically takes experience points to do so, and actually it's pretty clever that that's his power since he's, well, the author of the world. There are some iffy power scales going on, especially those of the bad guys who for some reason never send evil monsters/humans strong enough to wipe the floor with the MC even though it's clear that a great many adult Heroes are much stronger than the MC.

The MC is steadily building up a harem of three main girls, and for better or worse, a great deal of the novel is spent detailing their reactions to his feats. The MC's insistence is that he wants to keep all his main characters alive, but since there's never a POV of any of the male secondary characters it ends up just feeling like a harem story.

Overall, the whole thing is just a delight to read and a real page-turner. <<less

I'm gonna keep this short since their are plenty other reviews for this novel. This is a great novel with an interesting and uncommon plot. While the typical transmigration novel can get kinda annoying, this one has managed to keep my interest as I find myself constantly waiting for the next release. Editing and release are exceptional and I hope this novel doesn't slow down any time soon!

Edit: C77 The novel got even better!
