2.0 stars because the translation was really well done. The book however is boring.

I've read a lot of ancient-china-unfavoured-daughter-rebirth, and this one is def one of the slowest ones (and not in a good way, either).

The MC s overpowered, but you won't enjoy the overpowered feelings unlike in other novels because the villains are not well-developed at all. I love a vicious female lead with little pity for anyone but herself but this one makes you loathe the fl. She expects the system to bend—but only for herself, and without... more>> reason. And there's dues ex machina after dues ex machina. Which can be fine, at times, but wei yang does not use the powers she's given wholly. She gets some great power, noble title, good allies, and 2 chaps later they are forgotten by the wayside.

I will finish this, because I want to see how far this book can torture me (and also cause the translation is delicious!) but do not rec. <<less

Originally I would have given this a 8/10 or a 4.8/5, cuz the beginning was AWESOME!! like it totally hooks you up! But ten with volume two, the story drags on and on and it's the same scenes repeating on and on which kinda gets annoying. ANd also the romance wasn't the main target of the story, but then that slow burn romance just freaking made me go crazy!! But....[SPOILERS]..... the wedding was only just a slight mention in the extras and the male lead... more>> didn't even become the emperor (which was annoying cuz I wanted him to be one). <<less

Rebirth novel about a former Empress who is betrayed, reborn, and then proceeds to get revenge on anyone who crosses her. There are multiple potential male leads but the focus of the novel so far (as of Ch 143 of 292) is much more on vengeance and outsmarting all the people that want to trip up the FL than anything else.

As people mentioned, the premise really similar to other novel, but I like revenge theme, so OK.

Starting fine, but prefer if MC hide instead of showing her hand from the very beginning. Drop it because it's repetitive and the romance makes me uncomfortable.

When there's tag of younger love interest, I thought OK, fine. But when he's literally 10-11 years old while MC is 13-14 in novel with serious tone, it's just uncomfortable.

Addictive! This book once I started couldn’t stop. The story is great with a lot of strong female characters. The romance is really slow and few but the actions and the thrill of wanting to know what will happen next keep you on the edge. It’s a battle of wits and smarts the whole novel. Worth reading!

I'll be honest, I'm not really sure how to think of this novel. It wasn't amazing but it also wasn't a completely bad read. It plays through like any other book in this genre. It took me more than a month to read this, more because I couldn't stay motivated to continue reading at many times. Yes, it is repetitive. However, if you like this genre a lot, I'm sure it won't bother you as much. There is a lot of scheming and framing, with barely any breaks between conflicts... more>> (feels like there's constantly a problem attacking the MC). In regards to the romance, I particularly am not a fan of it. The ML is ok, but I think I would have preferred a confidant than a lover. The relationship didn't feel like it had depth, but that may have been because of the loss of meaning from the MTL. With all that being said, I'd recommend this book only if you really like this genre. In general, it just felt like a meh read. <<less

I still think this book is better than rebirth of military marriage.

The only downside here is that it's draggy but its all books that pass 200plus chapters.

Even if she has her faults she still executed everything brilliantly as fl.

Her weaknesses were all made up for by using pawns.

It's such a pity for her ex husband.

I believe the two of them suited each other both are vicious alike but eh, such is life... She ended up with the third brother.

Sigh.

One of the best historical novels I've ever read.

Much better than the TV series, but if you're someone who likes fluff and romance, go watch that. This is more about vengeance and cold-hearted calculation. But is it written amazingly? Yes, it is. Wei-yang's character is well written and actually has emotions instead of being a single-faceted cold evil mastermind. I really liked the way she handles things, the information you need to figure out what's going to happen is there, but it doesn't register until she has revealed it and... more>> it's written in such a way that the reader also feels victorious when victory is achieved. <<less

I honestly love this novel. It has story, depth and MC is a badass who will get revenge for every little thing. Although she was s*upid in her previous life, she decided to be unforgiving and ruthless in this life. She hasn’t done anything I dislike yet and I always look forward to reading the update. Update from English translator is super slow but I still appreciate her efforts and her translation is a joy to read. This is a must read if you like isekai

He love her just like that in first sight, pushing her to love him. As horrifying as her last love affair she doesn't ready to love anyone so told him I can't love you. He act like she delivery hurt him but he's so in love couldn't help forgive her generously. It grains my nerves. So I'm not satisfied with ML.

And she's really cruel to opponents. Yeah they started it, so deserved to die, but that kind of torture... I'm not opposed to torture a little, kinda like it. But sometimes she's too much.

like boiled all over the body, poison that hurt and itches to the point that digging and maiming herself. Torture that cut off the foot then walk in niddle and burnt iron. Then literally boiled him alive.

But scam and political drama so interesting to the point cover that unpleasant aspects. It unique in that position so try it! May you like this novel or conflict about it like I do or think it's too much, but at least try, it's worth it. That's the reason why I rate it 5. <<less

This novel is so satisfying and it’s one of my favorite, I love when the FC is strong ruthless and smart, this kind of novels really help me in my real life to overcome whatever struggles I may face and it gave me strength.

this one and the rebirth of malicious empress I give them 10/10.

How can a pure and s*upid girl became so intelligence, without emotion, know how people think, expect the action, cold, so strong without any weakness

it's different from the drama far more different 👍

After two years it still not complete wow🙂🙃 pity who don't go to mlt and translate it part part🌧

So so. Similar to The Rebirth of the Malicious Empress of Military Lineage, but MC is actually relying more on luck, than planning and long-term strategy. A lot of Rube Goldberg schemes that in the end amount to nothing decisive. Cannon fodder that in times seems smarter and more reasonable than MC. Sea of Chinese titles to name the same person several different ways, if Chinese names alone was not enough to confuse you.

I absolutely love this novel. First of all, the MC is not the most beautiful in the entire book. In other rebirth novels, the MC usually has this cheat to make herself more beautiful or is born that way. In this instance, the eyes are the focal point instead of the facial features. Second, after being reborn, there is no cheat, other than being smarter and more cunning. She does not excel at everything she touches and is considered bad in some areas. Three: the romance. The MC is not... more>> dense AF and can actually tell when others are making advances on her. But because of this, the romance is slow.

The only this I don’t like is the translation. For me, it’s hard to understand the Chinese terms being used since they are not translated. <<less

I think that the story is interesting. I got hooked in this the same way I got hooked in to The Rebirth of the Malicious Empress.

1. Slow paced romance. Focuses more on MC getting even with her enemies which I like but sometimes it is too slow.

2. Schemes are up to par. I've been exposed to some dramas with controversial schemes, plot twists and stuff. In fact, I feel like MC's revenge is much more intense than that of Shen Miao.

3. Often times, I feel like some chapters weren't necessarily... more>> and were just added as fillers to make the story look even longer. However, whenever I get into the intense chapters, I immediate forgive the author for this. ? 4. Translation is very slow which is very disappointing. I wonder why since this is so popular it even got a drama.

5. The main thing that ultimately lead to me giving 3 stars (I would have given 4, take 1 star because of the slow update) is that the author was accused of plagiarism. Apparently they ran some tests and found that out of all the chapters this novel has, only 5 were original. Not cool. <<less

This is the first novel I read on this site so it will always have a special place in my heart.

While this novel is not the same as The Rebirth of the Malicious Empress of Military Lineage it has her own good points. This novel is more fast placed with the plot and the characters aren't so well developed (especially the enemies) but it is still pretty good when compared to others novels with the same theme.

The MC is much more cruel than Shen Miao but I liked her ways... more>> of handling her enemies so much more satisfying.

The ML is okay for the most part, in my opinion. He is very possessive of her and while I don't really like that he hides so many things from her like she is fragile but I do understand where he is coming from.

I was surprised that he was a prince from the enemy country but not that shocked beacuse there where very oblivious hints thought the novel.

I honestly am disappointed with the book but it's my fault. I watched the Chinese drama first instead of reading the book. They are both completely different with only some aspects the same. Since I watched the drama I wished she ended up with someone other than the ML in the book.

I really love this novel and I was so happy it was adapted to drama. Although there were some changes in the drama I still like it. I finished watching it but I will still wait for this novel to finish because maybe it has a different ending or some twist that the drama changed.

watch the drama on youtube because they changed some things and the changes were still good and will hook you like this novel. Kudos to the authors!

I knew this story from a drama actually. But I stopped after a few episode 'cause the story is soo hateful and full of scheming and killing.

However, the novel is different than the drama version. The Female Lead is more wise and clever. The story line practically not the same. Yeah, there is much more cruel scheming in the novel. Not much about romance.....

Well this novel is worth for those who like cunning girl
