My whole life, all I wanted was power.

I churned the world into rivers of blood and eventually gained the title, ‘Demon Lord of Strength’. However, all this became useless when I lost to a party of heroes.

But what can a loser say? As I laid dying, I was forced to listen to the hero’s gibberish:

“If you are born again, I hope that you will live a kind life!”

But huh? When I opened my eyes again, I was back in the past.

“What do I have to do to live a kind life?”

This is the beginning of an ex-Demon Lord’s journey to live a ‘kind’ life.

I really enjoy reading this novel, the premise is simple the characters are fun to read about. It's nothing ground breaking but it's still better than 90% of the novels I've read untill this point.

Just some fun adventures without harems and pointless drama, and the backround plot and mystery is good enough to keep things going if not great.

The character chemistry is good all around and I like the interactions and the way they act around each other.

fun MC with a skewed personality who follows his own code, even if that code is all kinds of gray rather than the usual shounen black and white. The MC sometimes seems to be a master strategist, plotting for an end fifty chapters away, and at others he presents himself as impulsive. I was really enjoying the story until ... more>>

all those different versions/past lives come up for multiple people; then I just started to get annoyed that the author was unnecessarily complicating what was already a solid story.

I'm leaving it at a four for now subject to change if/when I finish the novel. <<less

Contrary to some reviews here, it's actually written really well. A lot of things are not as it seems. I was expecting a typical wuxia-like plot at first, and it is that on a surface, but then they flip the script when it comes to Zich's mother, as well as the whole Hans character. There are also seemingly multiple layers to it. This reminds me of Akuma Koujo or tr*sh of Count's Family in how deep it actually goes.

It had a very strong start, but it turned out to be just another OP MC gathering party members and babysitting them as they grow stronger and the 'kind' part in the title is going to slap you in the face in every section of the story, locking the MC into a chaotic good alignment.

Don't be confused by the misleading title guys, that's a bait by the author.

This is a cathartic series, the maneuverings remind me of Reverend Insanity. Our main character is an engaging protag, crafty and his enemies are similarly clever. It feels like a satisfactory battle of wits, leveraged power and strength.

When the MC died, the hero told him to live his next life in kindness. So, out of curiosity he decided to follow the hero's advice but implemented in his own way. His kindness works against him at times, and... more>> tends to allow him to let those who should be punished off with a lesser punishment. No harem so far iirc which is a plus for the harem haters

IT'S GONNA BE A FUN AND JUMPY RIDE GUYS !!!! Y'ALL SHOULD DEFINITELY GIVE IT A TRY. I recommend this novel. <<less

I really enjoyed it! It's a different plot from the usual Korean novels on this website, and it's significantly more fun to read. It's funny, and one of the only novels I look forward to reading everyday.

It's your tr*shy cliche done right. The MC is the best part of the novel and you should understand that it is him that makes the novel work.

It is a shitty Novel right from the beginning. I hate this style of writing and I get sick of the premise. I read this after the Nr. 1 Ranked Novel currently thinking this may be similarly good since it is Number 4 but I got majorly disappointed. I do not understand why the rating is so high. It is one of many Novels that just copy paste. The writing is 3/10. Premise 2/10. Personally though absolutely unenjoyable. There's a lot of better Novels out there from the same genre.... more>> But this is just abhorrently bad in my opinion. <<less

I like it! Its funny, and MC isnt some overly I have to do this for justice type of hero. All plot holes originally thought of in the early chapters are slowly being explained at the end.

why didnt they kill him immediately?

why is glen so hung up on zich?

I like that almost all of the characters aren't just one time use only. We still hear about them chapters after they were introduced. I enjoyed the story, wish it were longer.

"Excellent Novel - A Must-Read Gem!" (No Spoilers)

I recently had the pleasure of diving into an extraordinary novel that left an indelible mark on my literary journey. From start to finish, this captivating masterpiece never failed to captivate my imagination, making it the best novel I have read thus far. With a seamless narrative, intriguing plotlines, and a lack of unnecessary fillers, it proved to be an enthralling experience.

One of the novel's greatest strengths lies in its ability to keep the reader thoroughly engaged at every turn. Each chapter... more>> presented fresh surprises and intriguing revelations that heightened the anticipation, leaving me eager to explore what lay ahead. The absence of any dull moments was truly remarkable, ensuring that the story maintained an exhilarating pace throughout.

What sets this novel apart is its perfect balance of humor and storytelling. The funny moments, interwoven seamlessly into the fabric of the tale, provided much-needed relief and elicited genuine laughter. The author's skill in incorporating humor into the narrative, without compromising the essence of the story, is a testament to their remarkable talent.

Speaking of the story itself, it is nothing short of superb. The author skillfully crafts a rich and immersive world, populated by compelling characters that leave a lasting impression. The absence of any harem or unnecessary romantic subplots is a breath of fresh air, allowing the story's core to shine through undiluted. This dedication to the purity of the narrative adds depth and authenticity, ensuring that readers remain fully invested in the unfolding events.

Such was the impact of this novel that I find myself contemplating a second read. The author's ability to deliver an unforgettable experience deserves accolades.

In conclusion, this novel represents a remarkable achievement in storytelling. Its seamless blend of humor, a captivating plot, and an absence of distracting elements make it a true standout among its peers. If you are seeking an engrossing read that will leave you hungry for more, then I wholeheartedly recommend immersing yourself in the pages of this fantastic novel. <<less

A very good novel. It felt structured, the pacing was good, and the author has a good understanding of setup and payoff (which sounds like a low bar but honestly you never know). I found all the characters to be likable, especially Zich Moore. This novel does a good job of really hammering home the idea that Zich used to be the demon lord and was indeed a sadistic slaughterer. A lot of other novels like to have a setting where the MC is some evil guy who regresses, but... more>> they often don't properly handle the baggage that comes with being evil. Zich's character development feels believable. Based on who he is as a person, it is realistic that he would respect Glen Zenard's request for him to live kindly because Zich respects Glen's strength. In addition, it feels good to watch Zich change and struggle against who he used to be. Besides that, I did enjoy the admittedly ridiculous level of conspiracy and scheming that happened in every arc between Zich and the robed figures. Despite the fact that Zich is overpowered, he wasn't overpowered enough to never be challenged.

Glen Zenard is a good antagonist and it always feels good to see him lose, I just wish he could've been a bit more of a threat at times. Glen possesses the extremely overpowered ability of regression, which should make him theoretically unbeatable to Zich. However, Glen's character and total obsession with being a hero and controlling variables makes it very believable that Glen would hold off on regressing until the last possible moment. Speaking of regression, I really like that it's a man-made function in this novel. Usually regression is a divine power that is performed by some godly entity like a system, but this time regression is made possible by humans themselves.

I did still have a few issues with the novel. For one thing, Zich is very clever, sure, but he should not be omniscient. Zich knows or can figure out any scheme instantly and at some point that does take the tension out of things. He really should have at least failed or been at risk of failing sometimes. Earlier, I said that the novel was structured. This is both a strength and a weakness, because the structure keeps the story grounded but a the same time makes it feel formulaic. Every arc can roughly be summarized as "Zich goes somewhere new, meets an important character, gets embroiled in a conspiracy with the robed figures, outsmarts them, then leaves". I also wish the novel focused a little more on character interactions between Zich's party. I would've loved to read more about Hans or Snoc or Lyla without Zich. At the end of the novel, I could feel the pacing pick up fairly considerably. One could argue that you shouldn't spend too much time on trivial tasks because at that point the heroes are dealing with such grandiose threats, but still... Either way, a very good novel. <<less

Overall I found it quite enjoyable with not too much to fault. I guess a one line summary would be that it's an antihero protagonist who does good deeds in the worst way possible. It's average rating of 4.3/5 at the time of this review is probably fair.

While reading it I was able to predict most of the plot twists relatively easily and while the MC's behaviour at first original and entertaining the author was a bit of a one trick pony s reusing the same plot device did yield... more>> diminishing returns.

Overall I'd say it's definitely worth a read especially if tags match your preferred genres. <<less

It's a good novel to binge. Strong MC with attitude and scheming mind. The plot itself is fairly simple but the way the MC went through them is unique and definitely become the main attraction to this novel.

Give it a try if you have the chance.

Novel does a bunch of things good, the main character is a mix of good and bad, but it just right, like seasoning its not too much or too little, its just right.

The side characters are good too, normally when they have similar names I cant differentiate them but this time I know each and every character, this proves they are at least unique.

The progress of the story is solid and consistent, to some (including me, got me a little worried there for a sec) it may not be enough... more>> progression, but like a house of cards even if you use the same card starts to build up, and it does not disappoint.

The overall plot is great it feels like the author sets a bunch of cogs that start to get into place and it makes a cascade effect that just keeps getting better.

But since I gave a 4 star I will say what I think it did poorly, the combat scenes are so boring and any type of str progression is also very confusing, it never says exactly how strong someone is, and its always by comparison but even then its like "oh he is almost at the same level as X" wtf is almost? What level is X? Come on give me something more. And you never know when he is fighting "for real" so your never know the str of that enemy either, that is very confusing and at some points, confusing.

Elaborating on the combat being boring, the main atk of the sword wielding is called "he infused an enormous amount of mana in his sword", u can change that with massive or other words with similar meanings, mages are a little better but still very basic, so dont expect much from combat.

but overall I would recommend this novel, it does a lot of things well as long as you dont go into it expecting epic combat scenes you are gonna enjoy it. <<less

A solid and enjoyable story, with an anti-hero protagonist.

The "Demon Lord's" interpretation of "nice" is the source of much entertainment.

It does a good job of revealing it's secrets, and the characters do a good job of communicating them to eachother.

Zich's growth over time emotionally is more important and interesting than his growth physically.

It's alright.. Or at least I should say better than the majority. It doesn't try to portray an ideal but rather a flawed god. It's hard to read the story and expect emotions to be aligned with the plot development when you have to deal with an unreliable narrator and an absolute contradiction regarding on how the protagonist tells he lived and how well he is versed in everything from epidemic cures to fashion.. All because there is a new insert about a certain thing/character that in his past life... more>> gave him the change to attain the knowledge. All these inserts are like excuses, an author telling you that it's not what it seems, it's not like he is building a deux ex machina, but rather that it simply was a past event, it was about him. Everything aligns with himself in ways that surpass all reasonable logic, and while I can see specks of the revealing that is supposed to make sense of all these coincidences I honestly lost interest in being led by the nose by an author that is more interested in developing his protagonist rather than keeping a logical story flow. Lose or win, fail or succeed, there was not even once a point where I felt I had to worry about him dying, even though he states that he is way weaker than his past self. Cunning and adaptive, the general excuses I would accept in an arc or two, they are present everywhere. This is slightly superior writing with a very classic Gary Stu. 3 Stars for effort, 2 for end result. <<less

This was pretty good. A lot of action and cool fights. The MC was interesting and had an actual personality. There was a lot of weird unexplained stuff going on in the background that had to do with reincarnation and future knowledge. Secret organizations plotting stuff. Powerful organizations making sensible decisions (super unusual for these light novels).

But now it's behind a paywall. I would recommend it if you like the tags but I didn't like it enough to pay for it.

Started fun, get's repetitive and boring later with very long arcs without payoff, but managed to get somewhat back to the good stuff in the latest chapters. If you can manage extremely edgy stuff - welcome, it's good, if not - you gonna get a lot of cringe.

Pros:

Some good jokes here. A lot of moments and characters interactions is good and made me laugh.

Characters. I like most of them, they all have something to remember about them even if it's some minor stuff. And author usually introduces them in a... more>> likable way.

Plot. Overall plot is surprisingly interesting, hard to explain without spoilers, but there is a lot more to demon lord resurrection.

Cons:

Too edgy. As I said it's edgy. There is nothing much to say about it. MC acting like 14yo kid with "smart" schemes and "How was your sweet moment of hope" phrase... Like seriously? It's good that in the latest chapters he stopped saying that, and become somewhat more mature, but sometimes it's hard to read.

Questionable schemes. It's usual anime problem where they portrait some scheming smartass, and everything always goes as he planned. Even if it didn't make any sense or whole scheme would be destroyed and backfired if any character didn't act as he predicted.

Long boring arcs. Sometimes you already guessed the endgame and setup almost complete, but author still wasting a lot of chapters to make MC's scheme more "smart" and payoff falls flat like MC just go and fight the bad dude (magic tower arc is just horrible). <<less
