The Novel itself is like readable, but it just seems way to similar to reformation of the deadbeat noble. I understand that the plot of weak to strong nobles is quite overly used in Korean light novels but it straight up seems like a carbon copy.

The storyline, characters troupes and even setting seem too similar, ie Illya and Runaan (White Haired kuuderes), Airen and Raon (Originally weak but becomes strong with willpower), Brett and Burren (Originally stuckup nobles who eventually have a change of heart in ironically the exact same... more>> point of the story), Judith and Martha (Commoners who both share a inferiority complex), Lulu and Wraith
Spoiler

(Both supernatural and overpowered beings who are currently weakened who are basically the pets of the mc)

[collapse]
Need I say more?

Even the goddamn blacksmith share basically the same name, personality and interaction with the MC, One being Vulcan and the other being Vulcanus.

I agree with phuonglong003's review in that regard of it being similar to Reformation of the Deadbeat noble, but in reality, the only really distinct difference I can find is the fact that this novel focuses on revenge rather then self improvement.

Of course, if you're able to disregard the overarching similarities, or haven't read Reformation of the Deadbeat noble, its fine. <<less

The story build up is slow but worth it and there are some quite nice plot.

Also Glenn Zeighart (Seighart) is very powerful even among the trancendence, acknowledged by wrath himself.

Raon is right now at grand master level but will soon climb to trancendence.

There is so much action and fun part too, but story also dwelve in the dark side of Robert and Raon's (Laon) previous parents (very few moment) who tried to stop Laon from getting captured.

It's okay at first I thought it's not that good but not that bad either so I kept reading until...

Spoiler

The part where the girl kept following him in training, it's just so annoying and the reason is a cold fragrance, it's so cringe, I don't know if the author wants to force a relationship between two but I'm dropping this, personally in my opinion I just don't think this would be a good read in the long run because the novel doesn't even know how to make a normal interaction, they could've just talked with each other normally because they're both a trainee, unless the other is a mute, even the thing wrath can talk then why can't a fully functioning human can't? the novel didn't explain the reason too, shy? just because you're shy doesn't mean you lose the ability to talk if someone initiated a conversation. sigh

Maybe compared to the rest of all novels is just a 3star, but was enough to keep me entertained even if had a rather boring start it gave me exactle the type of story I expected.

OP reincarnated MC that using his past experience from birth outpace everyone else, not only that but it also has demon and type of game system that I feel was uncessary, but from all game system is the one with the best explaination. Also I thank got he is not another isekai that add absolutely... more>> nothing to the story. And is well writen.

Spoiler

Basically MC got in contract with a demonlord for revenge but erro made so that he got status screen that was made for the demonlord and the extra status he gain is literally stealing from the demonlord, so he have a kind of parasitic relationship what is refreshing.

[collapse]

The first 50 chapter are kind boring because while is ok to read, anyone that had read 1 reincarnated story would see how unispiring this part when it come to challenges, because not even the MC think he will lose even less the reader. If wasn't his relationships with the others characters I hoped that the author would just skip it. In others novels would be akin to the "school arc" the one where we all wonder why we are even watching that. In fact after chapter 100 that the story pace got alot more interesting, as we explore more about the rest of the regions and the MC has some chance to get out of the training grounds.

Characters are slight better than 1 note character, the quiet nice girl is quiet and nice, the pround one is always pround, the angry badmouth girl is always angry and so forth. What make different is that they enter some character development from weird or unlikable to ok characters that have more to them. But most of them I feel are undeveloped if I was the author I would skip the training and focus more on their interpersonal relationship. However the MC being this "cool silent type" really struggle to talk to other people. If anything his grandfather is the only one that has some personality. But for this kind of story it may as well be the apex of character deep.

As for the powersystem, there seen to be more than 1, with the one the MC is using (aura) being a rather generic wuxia qi (lvl1=coat the body, lvl2=coat the weapon, lvl3=can shoot aura out of the body) with a few details here and there. Meanwhile the 5 demon clans have rather more interesting powersystem.

Spoiler

Eden for example, literally use magic imbued helmet to take the form and strenght of a named monster while they can control monsters hordes, while White Blood have a doomsday vampire cult vibes

[collapse]

Lastly the MC. He is the assassin trying to find the meaning of humanity kind of dude, this means he is super competent, silent type, that try to understand the emotions of other people, but he is not something at level of the Genius Warlock <<less

It's very typical. You will know if you like it or not within the first 3 chapters. Maybe 5 to get a real feeling for it. Honestly I might be underestimating it since just based on what I read so far, the premise is bland and I can not imagine the story going over 400 chapters but it's at chapter 445 (raws) and I don't see "The past matters" tag. Whatever I'm not sticking around here. Even though I just read seven chapters I felt I've seen it all. It... more>> feels like "Solo leveling" and "Blinking Magician" both I don't like. <<less

I know this is a place where you're supposed to write a review of the novel, and I will get to mine, but first I want to give a shout out to the TRUE MVP of this story! DORIAN <3

He may be a coward who cries and vomits all the time, but with the information gathering skills of a secret agent and a belly pocket to rival Mary Poppin's bag, Dorian is SUPREMELY underrated!! We stan Dorian in this house!

♡\ ( ̄▽ ̄) /♡

All jokes aside, I can see why some people... more>> are quick to write this novel off. The first 30-50 chapters can feel cliche, following the typical OP reincarnation formula. However, I think it's important to look a little deeper. Not only is Raon expanding emotionally, but all he does is train. So, unlike other stories in this genre where a character is just OP for OP sake, Raon actually puts in the work to continue to grow. As of about chapter 60ish, there's less of a focus on how much of a monster Raon is and more on his relationships and how his actions affect those around him.

All in all, this story is wonderfully written and translated (thank you Reaper Scans), and I give it a 4.5 for oddly placed/weirdly chosen onomatopoeia and NOT ENOUGH DORIAN SCENES!!! <<less

The story of this novel is truly impressive.

Revenge-themed novels are quite common, especially with a premise where the MC (main character) is reincarnated. At first glance, the synopsis might feel rather typical.

However, what makes this novel unique is that even though the MC retains memories of their past life, they don’t instantly become overpowered. Instead, the MC is born into a body cursed with an icy condition, which forces them to start from zero and work hard to achieve their goals.

One thing to note when reading this novel is the... more>> large cast of characters. You’ll need to remember everyone who has interacted with the MC at some point. Additionally, the complex dynamics within the MC's family and the fact that there are multiple antagonists—not just one—can be a bit overwhelming at times (though it’s also intriguing!).

As for the plot, in my opinion, it’s perfect for readers who enjoy a complex storyline with a moderate pacing—not too fast but not too slow either. While some readers might find the slower pace a bit dull or feel it doesn’t meet their expectations, I personally find it enjoyable. The story provides a deep understanding of the characters and their perspectives, making the experience immersive.

The downside of this novel is the somewhat repetitive depiction of conflicts the MC faces. Although the enemies vary, the way the plots are presented can sometimes feel predictable. Thankfully, the author manages to introduce surprising twists and fresh ideas now and then, which keeps things exciting and makes me appreciate the story even more.

In conclusion, this novel is perfect for leisurely reading during your free time. Staying consistent with it will help you appreciate just how captivating it is. Personally, I truly admire this novel and highly recommend giving it a try! 😊 <<less

Great novel that may be cliche at times but has a lot of heart and good character development for side characters (even minor villains get some great development).

The MC is overpowered but only due to his own efforts and motivation (also a literal Sword of Damocles hanging over his head for motivation 😱).

This story isn't groundbreaking but it does what it sets out to do very well so that even cliché events don't bore me due to great execution and interesting characters.

MC also is developing well emotionally from his previous... more>> life and becomes a better/healthier person for it 😎

Give it a try and just wanted to say chapter 144 was so entertaining it pushed me to post an actual review which I rarely ever do due to laziness...😅

Update: Also forgot to add that it is the unexpected comedy from the MC/Wrath and his Grandad/Rimmer that really also makes this a joy to read 😁😂 <<less

The novel is interesting at first but quickly becomes an edge lord power fantasy.

The protagonist, while having some mental growth and becoming more human as opposed to a cold assassin, faces no real challenges. I don't remember him ever loosing once in anything substantial in about 100 chapters.

The protagonist is gifted too many things, the author constantly reminds us how he trains from morning to sundown but it all looses meaning because he is treated incredibly well and knows how to do essentially everything without any research, for example (no... more>> real spoilers here) :

At some point in the story the protagonist will be made to attend what is essentially a military camp and will be assigned to a scouting unit, now let me remind you that in this new life of his he is a 14-15 year old kid that has essentially been out once or twice and should have no knowledge of scouting, killing difficult monsters,... So obviously the protagonist excels in absolutely everything, faces no real challenges, easily earns the respect of all his military peers and is a genius above all other geniuses.

I don't see this novel getting better, its honestly just getting worse and worse the more you read it, it started off okayish but at this point its basically just boring gary sue shenanigans. <<less

It's so slow paced and beefed with word content I can't enjoy it. If you like novels with a lot of self (mc) development and a slower pace you'll like it though. Through the 7 chapters, that are at least above 20k word count total, we still have zero plot developments and progression. Every chapter is MC feeling bad, MC debating leaving, MC trying to get stringer, MC's family getting bullied by family. Did I forget to mention the moms a widow? Because I'll make sure to put it multiple... more>> times in each chapter to remind you.

The worst part of this novel for me is a system was randomly thrown in, it is so out of the blue, unnecessary, and conflicting with the whole story. It's hard to explain but you'll understand when you read it. A Fantasy Magic world with very seriousish writing tone out of nowhere, when he got stronger after a certain point

[Hi I'm the system! I'm here to break your immersion and all the development we just had. Tee-hee!]

It only serves to notify when he "levels up" and for him to check his condition which was already explained he could check with his mana. Ig the author was so desperate to make it more slower paced he wanted more filler to beef up the word count even more.

Again, I can only suggest those to who are looking for self development. This is really the only possitive trait on the novel for me. Even the other characters including MC are pretty two dimensional and predictable <<less

If you're looking for OP reincarnated story with a looooot of sword fighting scenes and character development, with bits of humor sprinkled in -- then this is it.

It is cliche, but that's the genre; I knew what I was signing up for from beginning. It can be repetitive (almost formulaic) but I didn't mind it at all.

It's mindless read at its finest.

I love the main character as well as the supporting characters. I'm invested in their journey, and cannot wait to read more.

Quite enjoyable but it's still trapped in the bad habits of web novel author :

  1. Premises are kinda common and too generic nowadays, MC reincarnates with a strong desire for revenge.
  2. Bad habit / current trend of using the status window as a character development device, kinda meh and boring honestly, but yeah it's kinda what I expect from a standard web novel author.
  3. Poor attempts to incorporate seven sins in to story lore.
The things that keep me entertained while reading this WN mostly about the author pacing.

I personally enjoy this, it is true that the side characters do over praise the MC for his talent however it is true the in story that he is strong and is OP. It is a bit annoying to me when the main parent loves the child but cant show it, its like omfg can you just say something it change anything if you say it in private the MC will obviously understand.

generally its a good read imo

This novel is a typical OP protag novel. Nothing bad in its execution except its kind of pretty typical.

There is another novel I recommend over this.

The Martial God who Regressed Back to Level 2

That's an op protag novel that does tension much much better than this novel.

This novel has a well executed writing style, but its the concepts that fundamentally bring it down, and it doesn't have enough spices in the mix to make it feel anything more than one note.

I have read this couple of months ago. It was a good action theme with MC being the opiest assasin reincarnated to the grandson of the head of famously strong martial art fam and grandpa that dotes him secretly :v Wrath is also hilarious
