This novel is a bit of a slow-burner, which is understandably not everyone's preferred style - however if you can get past that, this novel is leagues above the face-slapping and average "I got a cheat and became OP" or mindless gacha apocalypse novels out there

What comes to mind when reading this are things like "The Great Genetic Era" or "Godly Model Creator" where MC enters a military academy and goes on missions/interacts with fellow students and teachers and slowly becomes more powerful and explores the world she transmigrated into

This... more>> novel isn't perfect, but I enjoyed what I read and the characters weren't cardboard - so it's a thumbs up from me as of c159

----

Edit: Since writing the review above, I have continued to read (up to 230) and truly have would have never expected such a thing to happen but I would reduce from 4 stars to 3 for the following reason:

There is a
Spoiler

VERY LONG 'tournament arc', well not specifically a tournament but still that general style of Event that curtails all progress for meaningless updates on the progress of one single event

[collapse]

I would have no problem if that was of a reasonable length, however
Spoiler

It starts in chapter 159 and by 230 its still not completed. 70 CHAPTERS OF ONE SINGLE EVENT!

[collapse]

I have since dropped this novel, because my will was not strong enough to get through such a thing.

I revisited two months later, and can actually say this might be one of the wildest things I've seen to date- I left off on the previous edit on chapter 230, and now am on 285 where I was stunned to find....

Spoiler

IT SAID 18 MINUTES LEFT IN THE EVENT.

[collapse]

Mind you, this started on
Spoiler

chapter 159, and was ONE SINGLE EVENT UNFOLDING FOR 130 CHAPTERS... All that buildup at the beginning? Pointless, because you will be trapped in the hell that is this single bubble-episode event for EONS.

[collapse]

Truly the One Piece of it's time, at least in terms of milking a single event. <<less

This novel is really a slow burn novel like the review above said - not to say that it's a bad thing at all. In fact in my experience these novels are better than fast paced ones where there's no character development at all, and the first 100 chapters is about the MC suddenly turning their life around because they transmigrated with a system that magically solved every issue they had so the MC didn't know how to think for themself. This MC has a brain and knows how to... more>> use it.

It starts off a little confusing as the author doesn't offer much explanation to why the MC actually travels to the future, but the futuristic setting is very well written. You can definitely see that the MC took the time to adjust to her new environment and had to figure things out by herself.

There's also a lot of character development for the mc's friends as well. You can tell that the author actually put effort into making each character unique and have a personality. Additionally, this novel isn't a novel where the MC is ridiculously overpowered but a novel where the MC gets hurt and learns from it.

Regarding the long tournament arc, I have to admit that I also almost dropped the novel because of how long it was. At first she stood out because her mental age was older than her body's age, but the author used this long arc to completely integrate Jiang Hui with her new life. Not only that but this arc introduces the characters that will have a significant impact on the MC and probably on the storyline.

I really like the author's writing style. Even during the long tournament arc, I felt like something was compelling me to keep reading. The only complaint I would have is about the translation group's website, because it kept having issues and took a really long time to load while I was reading it. Multiple times, it would fail to load and Cloudflare would state that the website server was overloaded.

Regardless, there aren't many books like this out there so definitely give it a try if the synopsis seems intriguing. I found that this novel is similar to "It's Not Easy to Be a Man After Travelling to the Future" which is also a great book to try.

Just a heads up, as of chapter 358 there is no romance at all. <<less

I already wrote a review but my internet connection just said sike and deleted it.

It's a slowburn novel and very slow even amongst slow burn novel, so many details in roundabout way and it keep reminding you about said details and added more explanation about it, multiplied it by fifty times and you got bloated amount of info. These details however are interesting because its part of the world building.

MC isn't even mildly interesting. After 47 chapters, she's the epitome of regular human, no ambition, no quirky personalities, no goals... more>> and pursue mediocrity more than anything. It's realistic, but I hate it, why such an ordinary person got into this mess to begin with? Lame. I really wish they changed her character later.

Little sense of progress. Its a given that slowburn novel have little sense of progress, but many novel tend to have interesting characters to patch it up and add the finer details in between so to prevent readers getting bored, unfortunately, this novel doesn't have that even after 47 chapters, aside in 47th chapter where she discovered her "level" nothing major happened.

Lastly, the writing style is so weird, at least for me, this is the first time ive seen someone use 3rd PoV and treat it as 1st PoV. <<less
