The Supporting Character Devotes Herself Not to Trouble the Main Protagonist

Wen Yue Sheng transmigrated into the role of a universally despised female antagonist in a novel.

Born into a noble family, yet uneducated, shallow, and foolish.

Her biological father despises her, her fiancé loathes her, and even her maternal uncle, the emperor, criticizes her for being vicious and rude.

Because she spent all her energy opposing the beloved female protagonist, she became hated by everyone.

In the end, she was abandoned by all, shot by the male lead with an arrow, and left dead on the desolate wilderness.

When Wen Yue Sheng transmigrated into the body of the original character, the original had already gained a notorious reputation, with everyone wanting her gone.

Wen Yue Sheng remained calm about this.

On the first day after her transmigration, she placed a golden Buddha statue into the mansion.

Everyone thought that she had finally realized her faults and was ready to live a simple life, eating vegetarian food and praying to atone for her past mistakes.

What they didn’t know was that Wen Yue Sheng came from the apocalypse.

Before becoming Wen Yue Sheng, she was known only by a codename—‘Killer God No. 7.’

She was a powerful weapon in the post-apocalyptic world, and believing in Buddhism was simply a way to suppress her mu*derous instincts.

There were 9,999 test subjects in the apocalypse, and by the time the zombies were eradicated, only No. 7 remained. Thus, she was given the name Killer God No. 7.

It's a good novel. The MC transmitigate from an apocalyptic world to a ancient era and a very corrupted kingdom.

Although she tries to live in peace and quiet, she's inevitably and slowly dragged into a whirlpool that shapes the future of the country.

The MC is strong, wilful and seemingly cold. However she does help alot of people and forms friendships.

... more>> I do recommend giving a try, I quite enjoy this novel. However it's a 4 since it fails to reach that extra mile of quality or enjoyment some novels hasgives me.

Warning: The translation isn't terrible, but it has the problem of using the wrong name in the wrong sentence or using the entire sentence wrong. Heshe issues and such will lead to short confusion so mind who and what the novel should be talking about is a must.

Note: Don't take the title as an indication of anything.
Spoiler

This is a story entirely about fixing a corrupt country and the rise of the MC. Oh and its a powertrip type, the MC is OP dynasty warriors style.

I usually enjoy strong female leads, but this one was a bit too strong — emotionally distant and cold-hearted. I did appreciate that she was powerful and didn’t get distracted by unnecessary thoughts about the original female or male leads, unlike in many other transmigration stories. She simply followed what she believed was right. However, the novel focused heavily on war, and I ended up skipping some chapters. As for romance... that was basically nonexistent.

It's better than a 4-star but slightly less than a 5 for me. The story telling is different from most novels of this kind because the MC is also very different from other female MCs. Our MC is very cold and shows no emotions because she was actually a government experiment that was created with different viruses in order to fight against zombies. Thus, the MC is unable to feel or express emotions like a normal human can. So you won't hear about her thoughts or any monologuing as a... more>> main protagonist.

The author also writes this more in a summarized format especially when the MC is in battle. A lot of the things that happen usually happens on the sidelines such as who captured so and so city or who won this battle/that battle, etc. There are also A LOT of characters to remember and sometimes you have to rack your brain to remember this one cannon fodder who appeared for like 5 paragraphs before dying but then later they had a relationship with other cannon fodder so their name was brought up again etc. But since the story is pretty short then it's not bad enough that I needed to write a family tree or anything. A lot of action happens during the battle scenes too and sometimes it seems a bit confusing or doesn't really make sense (for example MC won a battle in a city but another city was being defeated by the enemy and they were going to lose but then MC suddenly shows up in time to save the day but the timing doesn't really make sense because wasn't she supposed to be in another place not too long ago? Or maybe the MTL didn't explain it well enough?).

Overall, I really enjoyed binge-reading the MTL version. The MC is a killing machine so she literally just kills when she says she'll kill. Once she has evidence of any crime then usually it's off with their heads and honestly, to me it's pretty refreshing to see. Antagonists usually don't last long under her hands but there are soooo many of them that you won't run out any time soon. Even though MC is a killing machine, she has her bottom line. She was created for humanity so she never hurts innocent people or allow others to. Of course, after transmigrating her personality changed so much that's it's weird no one really thought too deeply into it. Like, the previous MC didn't know any martial arts and had mediocre writing yet when our MC appears she's a battle god and has a powerful handwriting style. She doesn't even hid anything so it doesn't make sense that no one really questions it. But I still like her personality. She is the strongest person in the novel and literally from the beginning to the end, no one even comes close to defeating her.

There is a bit of romance too and it's very sweet. The ML, Yan Ling, is your typical cold, strongest minister in the court, backs no one, type of ML but he falls for MC pretty early on. How he kinda falls in love isn't very convincing IMO but I guess it can work that way. The MC never shows any affection no matter how sweet the ML is because she's just not designed to have emotions so she stays in character throughout the whole novel. Yet, because our ML can be shameless then he just weasels his way to her side and eventually on her bed *cough*. Anyways, I do think it's a bit sweet. They're not the best couple I've seen but they do fit each other because of how well they just let the other person do their own thing.

I usually write reviews that are too long so I won't put any spoilers in here. If you decide to read this then be prepare to read a very different type of MC. It's interesting for sure and it was good enough for me to lose sleep in order to finish reading it. There are lots of small inconstancies but they can pretty much be ignored or at least, the story is still good regardless. Overall, I do recommend reading this if the MC sounds like your cup of tea. The ending is pretty satisfactory too. <<less

I'm at chapter 48, and honestly? I'm kinda bored. The pacing is great—things move fast, so it's easy to get s**ked in—but the story itself feels way too straightforward. I love a good revenge plot, but there's just no depth here. The main character is your classic OP type, but without much backstory to make her interesting.

The FL: Strong, But... Too Strong?

Okay, so the FL is crazy powerful, which, fine, I expected that. But the one unique thing about her is that her killing intent is so intense she has... more>> to constantly worship Buddha to keep it in check. That's actually a cool idea! Too bad that's kinda it. There's not much more to her character, so she ends up feeling super one-dimensional.

The side characters had potential, but they don't really do anything. She gathers this crew of "misfits" and suddenly, boom—they're all insanely strong. No effort, no struggle, just instant power-ups. Where's the tension? Where's the grind? It's all just too easy.

The Translation... Oof.

I don't usually complain about translations, but this one is rough. It's obviously MTL (machine translation), and the constant mix-ups between "Empress Dowager" and "Royal Concubine" are so confusing. Not exactly the best reading experience.

Should You Read It?

If you just want a fast-paced, mindless story with an OP protagonist and don't care about depth, then sure, go for it. But if you want a plot with actual complexity or characters who develop naturally, you're probably gonna be disappointed. Right now, everything feels way too predictable, and I'm not sure if I'll keep reading.

Final verdict? Meh. 2.5/10.

I wasn't expecting that. It's because of the title. Usually, for such titles, you can expect that it is more focused on faceslapping the OG leads and the MC finding romance. But no, the romance isn't that much, it is more of a kingdom building story. Every action scene was thrilling and satisfying. I love how the FL raised, from being an unloved princess to being the supreme ruler huhuhu. I also love the friendship between the FL and the supporting characters. The FL, albeit cold, cares for the weak... more>> and the people truly, which made it more heartwarming. I also like the FL's past being detailed, the amazing world background, and the tense atmosphere. It was exhilarating and so enjoyable to read.

Overall, as a sucker for sugar, despite this having more blood than sugar, I found myself deeply fond of this story. It could've been better if there was more romance ofc. Nevertheless, 10/10. <<less

Please as a woman you should read this, This is my first time writing a review even, I don’t want to drop spoilers, This is like a total lady dominating book, not one centered around romance, has some cute romance scenes, but most of all I like how the male lead wasn’t enforcing his ideals or thoughts or leadership on her, though I hope he’d have gotten more love from her, except it’s also alright that she didn’t have to change herself for him, except she made some compromise, though... more>> little, but she’s just a girl, especially one that was used as a weapon her whole life and even her second life didn’t know love? I understand, But why should you read this? She’s clear headed, yes she kills a lot of people but none were innocent, she absolutely sticks to that, and how she does it and boosts morale, that’s so coooool,
Spoiler

the part that enraged me the most was the bastard Xiao Jin prince thinking he amounts to something, thinking she’d share her power with him and become his empress when he clearly did nothing to deserve being the crown prince and still had the audacity to be thinking that Ehn he’d give her everything except let her have a baby, and if she over does it he’d take her power away or she’d stop existing, hello who do you think you are?? Men, like I now understand more why as a girl you should be a feminists, cos a man simply thinking you not doing what he wants, can simply say he can just want you gone just because he wants it is crazy, I feel really annoyed he wasn’t executed publicly, cos how dare you?

Has the typical mary sue OP FL cheese, but it's not particularly overdone, so nothing feels out of place. It would have been nice if some of the details in the later parts of the story were a bit more fleshed out but overall this is a good story worth the time to read. It's well paced, the characters are decently written for the most part, the plot is predictable but there are a few places that do subvert your expectations in a good way, and overall it's just a... more>> nice read. <<less

I started reading because the premise sounded interesting but was quickly disappointed with how one dimensional everyone is. The main character is so ridiculously overpowered, which could be done well, but in this case, it’s basically her only character trait.

I didn’t mind the plot in the first couple of chapters but by the umpteenth “call for Princess Sining”, I was constantly rolling my eyes.

Also, I don’t know if this was a translation issue or from the original novel, but the titles and names were wrong sometimes.

I ended up dropping the... more>> novel as I just could not bear it anymore. Overall, this was a 2 stars for me. <<less

I don't understand the title. She does not care about the "main protagonists" at all, even when she does handle them.

That said, it was a very well structured novel. More focused on military action and political maneuvering, than face slapping. There is very little of that for a "wronged noble lady" transmigration novel. She plays to her strenghts, being strong and ruthless. But righteous. So righteous infact, that sometimes it feels a bit too convenient. Everyone that opposes her has just the right skeleton in their closet for a timely... more>> execution.

Spoiler

The most egregious being how sucession was handled, where the only qualified prince left, was revealed to not be the emperor's son. Felt a bit sudden, and like it was only written so she didn't have to do anything morally ambiguous for the throne

[collapse]

The romance is present throughout the novel, even if not the focus, and there was nothing too bad about it but frankly I found it boring. Your mileage my vary however, just not many tropes to my liking. <<less

The novel is good. The FL is basically cold and emotionless but not inhuman. She is good to good people and worse to bad people. I mean she was an experimental subject which is why she is so OP and I was able to accept that fact.

One thing that was too much was that evidence about every bad person just keeps pouring, which is kinda hard to believe. I mean they explained that it was given by ML and all but still it's kinda too much but fine let's ignore... more>> that too.

There is one thing that I absolutely didn't like about this is that there is romance in it. I hope it was No CP because I felt romance was not needed at all. 😭😭 That was the only major thing that made me disappointed also because the FL tells that no. 0 in her previous life loved her a lot till he died, but FL didn't feel anything for him which made me feel very bad for him. 😭😭 They made it look like the FL didn't have any feelings but she still accepted the ML which is kinda unfair for no. 0 who had loved her wholeheartedly in her past life. <<less

The title makes no sense, the supposed protagonist barely plays a role. It's amazing how the FL can train super soldiers in no time although she's supposedly spending most of her time in temples. But although the story is riddled with holes and the (assisted mtl) translation is sometimes very confusing, the story is a mindless fun read.

4.0 is deserved, although I agree that bcs MC personality we can't feel her, and we just can feel people beside her, but at the same time it just not satisfying, the idea is ok and unique and although wars became mind dishes, we will still see sour romance yes sour, bcs although author and ML keep told us that MC response are already ok, we can just get along with it :'' and for extra it does give a bit sweet and I fortunately find it with Chinese language... more>> (so it extra work for u), if u have extra time, it good enough to passing time but if u have something better and more vibrant, u may as well think twice <<less
