Nice and easy read. The novel is straightforward and mild on the angst. MC, Xu Qing, is a down to earth transmigrator. ML, Li Changfeng, is loving and hard working.

Even though not much is mentioned of MC previous life, his knowledge and skills were relevant to the plot. MC and ML get together early on and there is no conflict with each other. The story revolves around their daily lives and the people around them. So yeah, it's slice of lifey. This ain't for you if you're looking for... more>> intense action... although there are some short and spicy bed action. 😏

Spoiler

MC transmigrated into a 20 year old ger with a face laden with pimples. The original body's parents had already died and he lived isolated from others due to his looks. Per law, MC would be matched with someone for marriage if he was not married by the time he was 21 years old... which was two months away.

ML is a 25 year old man who just came back from military service. By law, he was allowed six months to find a wife before the government would match him. However, when he was in the service, his 3rd brother had married ML's fiancee.

Due to their situations, MC "recruits" ML to be his husband. This meant ML would marry into MC's family. Which turns out to be a good thing since ML's parents and 3rd brother are annoying.

The main story covers their early years of marriage and the birth of their two children. The extra cover the side characters... wrapping things up nicely for them. Our poor Chen Qi will get his happy ending. 😊

I really liked it a lot, the translator's work is good and it made me want to read the rest🤭

This is more than anything slice of life, no excessive drama or unwanted angst.

MC is not completely dependent on his "golden finger" and is more like a wild card in case something happens, his character of not getting into other people's lives and not getting into unnecessary real problems It was refreshing, he doesn't look for trouble but he doesn't let them cause him trouble either.

ML surprised me in many ways,... more>> he is someone who has well-defined limits and does not let anyone cross them; After everything that happened with his family, he did not take it badly and knew how to deal with the situation in a convenient way, I look for their benefit and I don't let them trample on them at the same time that they didn't break the "filial" bond. He is a firm, determined person, dedicated to the family and very passionate.

I liked the dynamics of the couple, their relationship was convenient and little by little they developed into a very strong bond of trust.

The supporting characters are well developed and don't feel flat, they don't exist for the convenience of ML and MC, they feel like real people dealing with their own problems.

The ending was shocking, on the one hand, in that last problem they managed to fully integrate into the community, which was the only thing that was missing; On the other hand, there is the ephemeral appearance of a woman, she died, it is as if her existence, not being something from that universe, could not survive because she left her natural environment, It is strange and interesting, it is like the conservation of the species eliminating the foreign agent 🤷... finally I only have a bitter emptiness because of the third brother, He's an incompetent little character who gets away with it over and over again until it stops working for him and he starts blaming others, The impartiality of his parents towards him is painful, any bad destiny of that family was his fault 🙄 They did not show more of those families but after the separation I doubt that they have done well considering the incompetence third brother For me it was a 10/10 <<less

This is 3 1/2 stars.

It's a slice of life with no drama between the main couple.

The translation does have some spelling and grammar issues, but it does not effect the reading experience.

... more>> Sometimes I got confused with some of the characters names when there were events and so many people.

The farming doesn't get mentioned often and the MC has a magic space power which he uses a couple times and then it gets sidelined.

The ML is pretty much perfect. There is nothing he can't do.

One huge issue I have is that as you read, it seems like paragraphs are either missing or were not written. So if it was the author, it was a bad writing choice. One very obvious one is when the MC and ML are getting married. It is about 1/3 to 1/2 way through the wedding at the end of one chapter and the next one starts mid honeymoon.

Things tend to happen around the MC. He doesn't really get involved much. He will sometimes say something or make suggestion, but it is other people, especially his husband that act on what he says.

The MC doesn't take advantage of what he has to either help himself or those he cares about often. He has a healing spring in his space that he sometimes drips a couple drops of the water into food he gives the people he cares about, but when he is uncomfortable from "bedroom activities" or the 2 ger's he cares about and considers family is unwell, he doesn't take advantage. I guess it could be because he doesn't want to be noticed or for it to be a big miracle, but it seems like there could have been a middle ground.

The MC was originally an orphan and lived in an apocalyptic world. So you would think he would be colder, standoffish, cunning, etc. However, he is quite placid and unaware.

This just a calm, easy read. The description isn't wrong, but makes it sound more fast paced and adventurous than the story actually is.

Also, they go on about him being ugly quite a lot at the beginning. He just has severe acne. He clears it up in the first few chapters and surprise surprise, he is actually quite attractive. So the whole "ugly ger" thing is a short and passing thing.

I like this story. I will keep reading when it gets updated and would read it again. Have also shared it. <<less

In the beginning the author showed too much where it would had been better told. The transition was slightly confusing and annoying, and I wasn't really a fan of the mature scene between one of the secondary couple. (Like, do I really need to know how this particular couple did the deed? Or is this random smut for smut's sake.) The MC's spatial ability is basically an afterthought only coming into play at the last climatic scene, otherwise cut it out of the story and you wouldn't be missing a... more>> thing. There were scums in the story but they're not annoyingly in your face. (The last extra about the scummy ger was sorta sweet) and ML's parents, though favored the third son, weren't money hungry scums that harasses the MC and ML.
Spoiler

What annoyed me was when the secondary ger character ruthlessly ran away from his hubby right after his hubby's beloved grandfather had just passed because the ger couldn't get pregnant only to return because he learned he was pregnant after all and no one chastised this ger. WTH. How freaking selfish! His hubby was mourning his grandfather and this ger goes and basically added on another emotional punch to this poor dude. Plus what the heck is the author thinking, having a woman appear in this world filled with men and ger, gives birth to a girl, then kills both off right away, and then proceeds to not impound on this plot. Why put this in the novel when it goes absolutely nowhere! Sorry, I just needed to vent.

The story does become better in the later half, although the MC went from zombie apocalypse survivor to almost useless, I guess he deserved being served so diligently by the ML after living through the apocalypse. So why 4 stars? Despite all it's many many MANY faults, I had liked the story and rounded the 3.7 to 4. <<less
