Gu Xiyu led a task.

He needed to go to few small worlds to solve the villains whose dangerous index exceeded the standard, so that the world can restore it’s harmony and beauty. It’s just that, the system sent to him was a bit strange. The first sentence it used to greet him was–

“Who are you?”

In the beginning, Gu Xiyu thought this was a super-intelligent humanized system newly developed by the Administration. Later he felt that his system was sick.

In order to fight for sovereignty, the powerful villains will hurt the protagonist. Gu Xiyu thought he would receive an order to stop him with a knife to the villain.

The system said, “You send him a bunch of flowers and he may not deal with the protagonist when he is in a good mood.”

In order to destroy the empire, the general villain of the empire will severely wound the protagonist prince.

System instruction: “If you act cute to him, he may accept your request and not exterminate the human race.”

The great demon of the cultivation world captures all kinds of immortal cultivation pills to increase his energy.

The system said: “In fact, there is another way for villain to progress.”

“Such as?”

“Practice dual cultivation with the villain.”

Gu Xiyu:?

Because he would be punished for refusing the order, he could only act according to the order. Surprisingly, the progress bar for the reduction of world danger actually moved. But the villain was getting more and more wrong.

I just can't seem to like the Ml. At the end the author note said this "the main point of writing is healing and redemption", , uhhh sorry can't really feel the healing. From my point of view this story more like focus on when u r in love with a sick person. Because the story focus so much on his evil deed n his mean act on the MC, when they finally have happy moment the author chose to just skip the whole thing into short summary!!! My injured... more>> fragile glass heart can't really feel the healing n redemption 😪

Spoiler

The ML is just so mean probably only on 2nd arc he's good I think maybe bcause he's too young his mind not overly toxic yet. 1st arc he poison our MC, 3rd arc he can easily wanna just kill our MC n treat him like a pet, 4th arc there's imprisonment, the mind game, 5th arc is the worse he never trust our MC until the end but he do get his redemption the most on 5th arc. Our MC hurts him most in 5th arc. But still I'm annoyed at him the most in 5th arc.

[collapse]

This story depict clearly how it feel like if u r in love with a sick person, a very selfish person, not a good person. ML do have good moment but it's so small compare to his villainous act I think those little good one make him look like an angel instantly. MC also smtime feel like there's that I dunno Stockholm syndrome maybe?? He got ab*se by the ML so much when the ML b kind to him even just a bit that's enough to make our MC happy. This is clearly a toxic relationship, the ML only good at him n the world when his danger value lower n lower. Means if MC good to him, obedient n submissive to him his danger value won't raise. MC hve to relent n give in so much while ML I dnt c he even saying sorry to what he hve done to MC bfore.. where's the redemption rlly... healing for the ML only...I understand he bcome like tht bcause of his past but like MC said he too have a shitty past n met shitty ppl but he doesn't turn out like Ml. I guess it's simply mean not everyone can love n care for smone like ML, who is sick. I just wish the author write it better. Like when ML realise he is wrong wish he go chase his wife n apologize. Our MC doesn't deserve all that shitty treatment from ML. Most of the time when MC hurts he just swallow tht anger bcause ML don't remember. when all is well our MC already not angry n forgive ML without ML even apologising. 😑 excuse me author what about ur reader's fragile heart like me ? I still support them together after all
Spoiler

ML been chasing n searching MC for so long even when he lose his mind but at the end he just cry n hug MC that's it, don't even say sorry 😑

[collapse]

And there's other characters that's very mean like in 5th arc tht guy just died like that. Author just gve short summary. When the evil deed is elaborated so well, the punishment is just in short summary. Ugh the unsatifaction I feel, it's annoying I feel like the evil guy should b torture more :v

At least in here u c all the hero n heroine deserve their title. Each of them r really kind n hve pure heart. At the 5th arc I even cry when our ML died n say thank u to Lu Cheng bcause that's the only person treat him nicely beside our MC. <<less

Well worth the read. The characterization is fairly consistent with understandable character development. Some of the annoying tropes were not present (MC being “straight, ” ML turns MC gay, alllll the r*pe-y vibes, the “true” MC and FL are actually evil, lord god evil). Now there are a couple things that ML that is ignored/forgiven that I’m not sure is the best. However, it is written in a way that is believable, which I think makes up for it.

Overall, this is a story that doesn’t require too much thought, but... more>> the conclusion is nicely wrapped up and satisfying. Recommended <<less

Good story with a solid concept. It could have been better executed, but fine to read.

The concept is, if you were a good person but everyone around you expected you to do bad things, were biased against you no matter what you did, blamed you for all the misfortunes... would you turn out evil?

Spoiler

The answer is often yes. Our environments have huge influences on how we turn out

[collapse]

The MC's job is to prevent the ML from shining over the protagonist and destroying the world, but the ML is like "Why not? I worked so hard for what I have, I deserve good things too" (which I think, is very relatable to every person).

Unfortunately, in these worlds, the ML is not the privileged protagonist so his talents, genius, and capabilities can never outshine the protagonist - the world won't recognize it.

Spoiler

I'm not going to go into the real-world parallels here😉

[collapse]

However, instead of most other quick-transmigration novels who overturn the protagonist or replace the protagonist, the MC instead persuades the ML to be a bigger person and "let it go." So he finds that spark of goodness inside the ML and fans it out.

This allows for more nuanced worlds and plots as well, which makes for a pretty interesting read.

Overall, nothing in this book stood out significantly, but it's a nice break from "all the protagonists are actually selfish evil people" trope that happens often in other QT novels.

Translation was great, I read Ckanda Writes. <<less

Read it at Knoxt Translations.

1st world was good in my opinion, very nice, the ML is yandere as fork. Gave me a little heart ache near the end but very good world. But I can’t lie it’s bit vague in their feelings and their relationship feels more superficial, maybe it’s because they’re developing it here and it’s the first world so it’s not very developed in the writing sense. But oh well, very good world.

2nd World was alright, MC bullied ML a lot since ML was younger. Quite liked this... more>> one but some bits of drama was a bit useless. It’s hard to track the many names 😭. Very cute tho

I’m starting the 3rd world now. So I shall read it in a bit. <<less

I have just one sentence, "Read it." This is one of the best QT novel where things actually get explained in between and at the end. What made me happy is that this story doesn't antagonist everyone like other QT novels. This story has quite the optimistic vibe. What's most satisfying is it ends beautifully. I'm glad I actually stumbled upon a great QT novel that has a touch of reality. I really enjoyed it.

2.8 at best, most arcs were lackluster except for the 2nd one.

Problematic chemistry between the leads, diverse yet underdeveloped side plots/mini-arcs, inconsistent and overly plot-convenient 'system function', deliberate misunderstandings, and a plain obvious main plot.

Positive emotions between leads, in a nutshell, are explained away as meant to be and fated. Still, the narrative emphasized more greatly the small discords, the annoyances, and the disappointment they felt toward each other. Although it might be mere bickering, the author doesn't put in the effort to develop their feelings for each other in-depth,... more>> resulting in it all giving off a negative impression and any positive sparks would be quickly extinguished by a quick negative misunderstanding.

Side plot villains showcased a great deal of hypocrisy and irony of the author towards ML despite having similar life experiences. Yet, only ML was deserving of a savior and lover that came in the right time of need before committing bad/worse deeds yet the story requires a plain cookie-cutter villain to make the story slightly more entertaining.

The story summed up:

Spoiler

ML is sealed away by a godly force/organization that an amnesiac MC is now working for.

It's indicated from the beginning that they're lovers through the hints the author gave away as inexplicable longing and closeness they felt towards each other.

While ML shows a crazed obsession for possession and control, the MC tolerates this psycho-lover with unlimited patience and undisguised criticism. Both are equally aware of much of a bad person the ML is yet MC believes he can be calmed down through the love he gives him, yet is determined to put him back under control and shackles of their organization for the greater good.

Will ML be locked up by MC for good this time or will they find a way to freedom and live happily ever after?

It's a Chinese web novel, so the ending is quite on the nose.

So, the main problem for me in this story was the lack of romantic emotions. ML is crudely forward in his demeanor and shows it through possessiveness and obsession and MC is the only key to calm him down.

Though MC enjoys his company, he's indignant somehow over his true feelings and refuses to be honest leading to many many misunderstandings while knowing the ML is desperate for affirmation and security, MC loved to play with his feelings.

Even if he'd think of other people more suitable than ML, every time he got closer to another person other than the ML, he'd feel repulsed.

They both treated each other insincerely yet are inseparable from each other. But nevertheless, he was forced to coax the ML through ML hijacking the main system to begin with and would be punished physically with pain and drained strength if he wouldn't comply.

The ending was ridiculous. For nearly destroying the planet and killing many lives, ML's prison time was treated like a time-out.

On the promise of good behavior, he's let out. The whitewashing (his innocence) was laughable, vigilante self-served justice in the name of revenge and undermined crimes, painting the guy as a troubled teen.

As mentioned before, only ML is deserving of salvation, the rest who had experienced and lived the same as him will be cannon fodder to spice up the story.

The 2nd arc ML was the sole endearing one as he's not committed or plans to commit crimes beyond redemption unlike the rest and has an immaturity that creates a sweet and clumsy gap-moe from his usual cold nihilistic deranged self.

Ahhhhh finished it!!! Nice combo of MC and Ml😊 though MC might be cold on the outside but gradually he'll show his love and care to ML. A different twist of system 😅 as the title goes~ kinda new touch that the ML somehow knows what's happenjng to some system info. Every world is a good built up. Recommended!

I usually don't read QT anymore but I do wish this one wasn't abandoned. I like the concept of the ML being in on the whole system manipulation scheme, while the MC doesn't know he knows. But because he knows, ML's able to take a step back and re-evaluate both of their actions.

I will not put any ratings yet since I read the MTL and it caused me a lot of headache and there are few things I don't or barely understand. Despite these, I had lot of fun and apprecuatuon for this novel. First of all, there are new concepts and they are executed well. Meanwhile these concepts are not entirely new, it was enough to not to be boring and become exciting. Few of this concepts are: the protagonist are not villified (the first QT story I read where the... more>> protag is not villified as far as I remember) ; ML is clear that he was not the only target of MC; ML yields his hatred just so he can be with MC, every world they will go through the process of falling in love, ML did not purely fall in love with MC because of his institution nor MC liked ML it was the same soul.

The pace is okay for me.

As the author said this story leans to the side of redemption and healing. There is no brainless cannon fodder and brainless face slapping. <<less

I quite liked this novel. While I don’t rlly enjoy reading world hopping, the characters made me enjoy it.

Fortunately there weren’t that many worlds but at the end you could rlly see how the story would go for the ml.

Spoiler

The ML would be vicious and cruel because he was blackened by unloving family and friends. He meets the MC and instinctively feels a connection and attraction. Later on he develops feelings and forgets all the hate focusing on his love.

[collapse]

What I rlly liked was the personality and appearance of the ml. I have a soft spot for cold but still gentle and handsome characters.

As per usual, I am still a sucker for possessive mls. To make it even better, the MC always gives in to him.

Both of them are op throughout all arcs and don’t ever seem to have much trouble. However it wasn’t that monotonous that I lost interest in the plot.

The whole system was pretty confusing and I kinda skipped through some explanations. The main plot was pretty mid. It wasn’t bad but it felt kinda rushed and not well embedded into the whole novel.

Spoiler

The ML was a prisoner and then they fell in love through small interactions and that was explained in half a chapter... I didn’t rlly feel it. The MC almost died then lost his memory and then after all the worlds ML gathered his soul and then the ML is free? I love the devotion of both but I can’t rlly accept that as a lovestory. Especially because the ML is a person with serious trust issues.

[collapse]

I loved the small worlds but the overall storyline is a bit lacking in terms of storytelling.

In terms of devotion and unconditional love was rlly nice to read tho. <<less

the first novel I completed this 2024. I love this story too much. When I realized I've read to the last chapter I was so numb, then sad.

first of all, it's an interesting quick transmigration novel with what you think might be generic qt but is actually refreshing once you read it. Not one arc bored me and everything is worth reading intently. Everything was explained in the end, as far as logic goes (for me, at the very least, everything was satisfactory except for the fact that there are... more>> no extras).

the novel has themes that can be off putting, but past that is an engrossing story between commander gu and his mission target. Reading it made me laugh, frustrated, and happy. Reading up all the arcs then the backstory was an entire process that I will definitely do again some time in the future. Imo, it is an overall well-written novel.

thank you translators!

p.s. I do admit this is more of an appreciation message rather than a "proper" review; you won't get much spoilers out of me ;)) <<less

Overall is a very good story come out I was quite happy with it. I only wish that the ending was a little bit longer, I feel like it was rather abrupt.

The different words were good, sometimes I felt that the misunderstandings between ML and MC were a little bit annoying, but still very cute.

I recommend this Quicktransmigration novel if you are into that Genre.

A pretty good quick transmigration novel. I love the twist that the ML accidentally gets linked to the system as the system; It gives the various worlds a refreshing view.

I like both the MC and ML and their growing relationship, their back story is also interesting and somewhat sweet.

I would definitely recommend this novel for fans of QT novels

Wow. This was amazing.

I think my favorite part of this was the author’s commitment to leaning into the character personas. This was not: hey, I’m a ‘bad’ guy. This was: I am a motherf*cking psychopath (when the setting called for one).

I loved how unrepentant the ML was - esp as Chen Li (the first arc). The tête-à-tête Cold War spy game was delicious.

I read QT for the tropes - CEOs, zombies, mech, and cultivator - but these were something else. Just the creativity of each world was awesome. Particularly for... more>> the interstellar arc.

The framing story was just... it was so, so good. This was definitely an adult story featuring adults who were adults and I am so here for it.

Definitely worth a read (and a reread on my end). <<less

When I started reading this, I truly doubted the high ratings because the quality is so low and there are so many other problems.

After the ending of the last mission, I finally understand why so many readers (including me) are giving this 5 stars.

The writing quality is low but the feelings it induces from the readers are there. Especially more so if you read it all in one go.

And when the whole thing ended, I (as a reader) also felt the sense of fulfillment and satisfaction that stems from a... more>> well-ended journey. So that's a 5/5 from me. <<less

A very average story. Though I am a huge fan of qt novels, I have found it boring.

Each world has a great premise that could be developed into smth interesting, but unfortunately, we only have a soysauce MC waiting patiently for the end of each arc. He is deadpan inside-out : even in some rare action moments he stayed calm and.... disinterested.

The only plus here are romantic vibes. It has no action, no plot development, everything is so peaceful I wonder how they managed to reach 100 chapters.

If you like Holding Onto My Man... this is the one!

Though I’m sure there are others with similar plots, but HOMM was the first to come up, especially with its parallels to memory loss, finding soul fragments, etc. The system being hacked by the villain is the main clickbait that got me into this story. Everything else plays out as I expected. It doesn’t bring anything remarkably new to the table of world-hopping & seducing-black bellied gongs, but I definitely love to eat the same thing over & over again!

One of the most unique qt novel I've ever read. No unnecessary arcs. Every arc is unique on its own. I love how the ml's evilness increases as we further go into the story and how the MC punishes him for it but also understanding why the ML is acting like that.

I enjoyed reading this story so much and I just wish there were extra chaoters 😩 I would like to see their domestic life in the time space bureau. Anyway, this is a must read!!!!

Omg, will immediately be re-reading this novel. Everything felt tightly knit together, and the pace was exciting. Felt emotional during times. Wish there was more storyline. The different QT stories were executed well and each felt complete. I appreciated that MC and ML were on the same level in body and mind.

Spoiler

p.s. first and last sentence of the novel... Ugh so good
