Wow, for arc 2, with an ally like the System for arc 2, the MC doesn't need enemies. It's like the System twists the truth to mislead the MC and actively is trying to ab*se the ML and fail the MC for this arc. What a massive jerk. I honestly find a lot of Systems in Chinese stories to be annoying, but this one actually made me angry, lol. Maybe it thought the MC solved arc 1 too easily?

However, later in arc 2, MC figures out the System as being against him the whole entire time and requests the System to be turned off. There's a 'lord god' managing the System who instead says he's for the MC and the System battling it out (he just wants things to be interesting). The System turns into this gross tentacle monster, and the MC manages to get ML's help to kill it and gains the ability to shut down the System. Thank goodness. But then there's the end boss of the arc, Gao Chengyu, who the MC and ML battle out and figure out how to defeat with minutes to spare. This arc felt like the author really wanted too many close-calls to death to kill the MC and ML since arc 1 was so easy, LOL.

So it turns out Ye Qing is the emotional/weak and supposedly 'evil' parts of the Lord God split from his body. The Lord God pretty much views him as an evil entity, so he enjoys setting up worlds where the ML suffers. ML's memory is mostly wiped after every arc, so he doesn't really remember the MC except for faint memories. MC and ML appeared in worlds in different ordering, so when MC met ML for the first arc, ML had vague memories of encountering MC in other arcs.

In the last arc, the MC returns to his original world as a teacher. Apparently MC had met ML already, but didn't realize it. The original story was that ML was born to a super-abusive father who tortured him, and he tried to run away from the torture, but when MC was younger, he found a shivering-in-the-rain ML and unwittingly returned him to his dad -- causing ML to become a serial killer. This time, having the knowledge of the previous events, he was able to rewrite his past with the System's help and save ML so he wouldn't be pushed to the brink. MC and ML live together moving forward.

After a bit of a time skip, apparently ML still has a few 'evil' tendencies, but he's never acted on them. Gradually ML becomes aware of his dark nature and godlike powers. However, a romantic pest appeared, so ML kidnapped him and was going to kill that romantic rival, blocking off the area where he was going to mu*der with his powers. MC uses his last reward ability of summoning his previous arc characters that he 'wore' to assist him to go to the blocked-off place, and finally with the help of their powers, restores the ML's memory of MC in every world. It's a HE.

The ending is a bit abrupt for what it is, and the issue of 'Lord God' is still a hole that's not addressed, but overall it was still an enjoyable read.
