Two families’ children were switched at birth. One of the families is a household that does business, and the other is a household of a marquis. There is a vast difference in status.

Unfortunately, Yu Xiang transmigrated as a person that was originally from a business household and was brought up in marquis’s residence. As soon as she arrived, the truth about her lineage was exposed, her legs were disabled, and she was still bearing the reputation of “the unlucky star”. In desperation, she had to hug her elder brother’s thigh firmly and attempt to live her days first. When the original daughter of the marquis’s family returns, Yu Xiang will return the position to her.

A few years later, the original daughter returned, Yu Xiang was prepared to leave, but she found that her technique of holding his thighs was too professional. Her older brother refused to let her go!

The marquis concealed his smile with the wine cup: How can his pampered wife, that grew up with him, leave whenever she wants?

I loved the read however, I am dissatisfied with one thing. We didn't get to see the ending of the modern world of her brother. Was he happy? Did he kill people? What was their relationship before?! That loose end is bugging me so much! Also many people's cultivation was given to her, so that should last for multiple reincarnations... what is going to happen? It feels like a first world ending on a world hopping novel. I am Not Satisfied.

Read this for the third time and as always it was a good story.

I love MCs character setting and how she kept it through out the novel.

ML is great as well and the flow of the story is smooth.

... more>> although the villains were annoying, they got what they deserved at the end.

I did see a review saying there's a manhwa adapted from the novel and went to read that too and oh well got utterly disappointed 😔.

Although I understand a manhwa adaptation can't be as descriptive as the novel, some major plots have been cut off such as

Spoiler

how MC got to know she was not MLs biological sister. It was so lacking in the manhwa, I was like wtf.

[collapse]

plus the imagination you make while you read gives you ML as a military general with good body but he was drawn as a shounen manga ML boy look which didn't sit with me well.

the fact that the name itself has Yandare, The manhwa kinda made the yandare settings deleted so kinda changes the characters settings it self. So might as well just read the novel before going there to read if you really want to.

I might be wrong but that's my opinion.

the book is way way better to read.
overall loved it. MC rock with her outgoing straight forward personality. <<less

This has a manhua now, known as "brother's sick love" It is absolutely beautiful and a must read. The characters are funny, close to no angst, the real daughter is the bit*h and the unlucky star who thinks the FL stole what was hers when actually the switching was the Marquis family's fault. Matriarch and the ML dote heavily on the FL while the mom is a b*tch. The concubine borne sister is evil at first but she has a redemption arc.

I dislike this greedy monk in the first chapter. You want the relic and you also want lives of your uncle masters, such a greedy buddhist.

It will be good if he passes away.

At first I think it would be worth to give 5 stars, but on the middle through the end I change my mind that I should have give it 4 instead of 5. Don't give me wrong, it could also my taste that aren't suited for this type of genre, the whole set are weird for me. I felt that this is could be included on the simple novel with not much of bloody or tragic scene, but there is a different sense of horror that I got from reading... more>> this whole novel. I kinda feel psychologically ab*sed at some point.

The writing is actually good, the plot are also nice but the character keep disappointing me. The whole so called character development for some character also happened in kinda weird way, there is no clear or reasonable logic that make it worth as a twist to change a person. Even through the end all the bad character regret and realization also being explained in kinda forced naration which is unsatisfying I as it turn from black to white in a one flip instead of gradings color one.

This novel leave really a bad taste on my mouth. The way the author write the protagonist actions in a very devious way sometimes, or the way the antagonist character mostly have zero conscience through the story did prexpled me a lot. The monks, the MC, the ML, the King even the Grandmother itself have this very bad action that being justified and did not being condone as a wrong act by the author. The way this act being related to the right side and have no explanation on how devious this action actually are for a human being to do is really disturbing me. The only word keep appear on my head when reading this novel were just "sick", there is no tragic or sad, their just sick.

Spoiler

the only villain character I think it's good is only the 4th prince, if he is considered as a villain. All the other just having this one weird dumb nutcase setting where I doubt they even right on the head. Well though all the characters have this weird mentality but the bad character are just right down s*upid. I almost skipped all the conversation or scene between Lin shi and Yu Meng Qi as I couldn't stand nor able to understand their point of view.

[collapse]

I have never read a story that includes the Yandere set of character, this time I choose to kinda ignore it, thinking "how bad it could be?" Until I read it through the end and regret it in a big time. Man, ive never felt this violated by a novel. The translation are very very nice 👍, thank you for translating it through the end. <<less

Frankly, the novel is kind of weird, one note, and has an unsatisfying ending. I mean I knew what I was signing up for with a fake sibling romance, but there's just a few points where I'm like, ML please, you are being such a creep right now. And the romance is happening while shes 14 and hes 20-21.... which is still young even for the setting and like more f*cked than I expected.

Spoiler

Our FL has magic plant and luck powers that end up solving some pretty serious conflicts, which just sort of feels like a cop out? And the main villain girl should not have been able to do like anything, because she should have been kicked out of the household like the second time she f*cked up. They keep being like, "if this mother and daughter make another mistake we'll disown them" and then they just don't like 5 times. And the argument that she knows our FL is not blood related is so bullshit. They know they have to tell people eventually, THEY WANT TO GET MARRIED, SO WHY DO YOU CARE IF SHE TELLS PEOPLE.

The ending was very unsatisfying because they didn't have much room for romance. They solve the big plot event and there's like 2 chapters where they get to be loving and get married and then boom its over. Couple extra chapters where we find out FL is pregnant and that's cool. main antagonist girl is r*ped and ends up a prostitute, really not cool! And one chapter where the princess marries our FL's blood related brother but its literally like "I'm so angsty because I do like the princess even though I expected not to but I'm just a pitiful scholar and its destined to never be" and the princess is like "I'm gonna ask my brother to marry me to this guy" and 2 paragraphs being like, "they got married and lived happily ever after!!xD".

BASICALLY I CAN TAKE ALL THE WEIRD ASS sh*t AND BE LIKE KIND OF OK WITH IT BUT I WANTED TO EAT DOG FOOD AND GOT LIKE MAYBE 15 CHAPTERS WORTH IN 139 CHAPTERS.

[collapse]

Overall it was OK, I thought I knew what I was getting into and then it was both weirder than I expected and I had to put up with some BS so I give it a 3.5/5 but you can't do half grades and it was OK enough Ill give it the extra point.

EDIT: Also the manhua for this is pretty good actually, really nice art for a manhua. <<less

FL transmigrates into the body of Yu Xiang, the fake Marquis daughter. She transmigrated with hundreds of year's worth of luck thanks to her twin brother's insistence, but a mixup causes her to drop into her new body after it has been disabled saving the new Marquis Yu (the ML), Yu Pin Yan. Still, with a bit of cleverness and luck, she manages to not only hug her new brother's thick thigh, but also endear herself to powerful people in her home and the country.

My thoughts on the story are... more>> so-so. The initial premise is fun and I expected more, but the FL is a spoiled Mary Sue... and the ML is mostly an accessory that constantly talks about how beautiful and sweet his 'younger sister' is... lolol! I enjoyed the drama and I was waiting for the eventual downfall and of the real daughter of the Marquis, but overtime I lost interest and the characters were not realistic enough to make me care for them.

The TL is a little hard to read btw, like around 85% (?) readable, but the detailed footnotes were nice!

Warning: The FL starts off as a 10yo and there's lots of s*xual ambiguity between her and the ML starting from when she's around 14yo. One can argue that he's also underage at first and she's mentally older. But yeh, keep that in mind!

RATING: 3.15/5

So! While I do like some aspects of the novel (like the reason for her transmigration and the luck that came with it), I'm not all that fond of either the FL or the ML. I guess I just had the wrong expectations? I didn't expect this novel to be the kind where everything goes well from the onset LOL. Not only is the FL beautiful, she's also smart, lucky, gifted with a mental bond with the ML, gifted with the ability to grow plants without care... etc. The ML is equally talented! And while this is all impressive and everything, it felt a bit cheap after all the poor-to-rich/weak-to-strong novels I've read recently 🤧. Next time I try to read this, I'll definitely keep a more open mind and enjoy it for what it is (idk the term for it but yeh, it's the type where everything goes well and the main couple just flirt in the background without character development.)

All in all, I recommend this if you're looking for something uncomplicated and full of drama and self-indulgence. The characters, while I don't care for them, or not really Unlikeable. Their personalities were at least interesting, if a bit extreme. <<less

My reaction thus far:

Let me just say that I am picky when it concerns reading books but I always give them a shot. For example, I read to the first part of chapter 30 before even thinking of giving a review. I'll probably come back later and add to this when I finish the book. That being said I at least read a few chapters before deciding to read or reject stories. So, if you're scrolling through the comments to see what others think before taking the plunge here is... more>> my early review:

Spoiler

First, I have to say that I am enjoying this. It begins in the pits of tragedy and enrages me how the FL is treated both before and after transmigration. But I love a little drama and tragedy if it means setting things up appropriately for the characters later on. And it does.

Second, this is a book about the more ancient and archaic societies. Yes, there is an age gap in physical years. But the FL has been through TWO lives. In my mind that makes her actually OLDER than the ML. So despite him being older I, originally, felt that it should be the male that is being preyed on more than the other way around.

Third, you've probably read comments about this feeling like in*est. Maybe. It feels like it COULD be because of their bond growing up together but it's not. Emotional bonds can form and change over time. But the FL and ML aren't blood related (this is explained further in the story and makes sense so you'll have to read it). So I don't feel it is in*est due to their being no blood shared between them. They had no connection before the transmigration, FL changed the script to her benefit, and the bond of friendship slowly formed. It couldn't be called "sibling' because it's not giving that vibe. Things changed because the FL actions 'saved' the ML. And her actions from that point onward cement her life in the family.

And, Finally, the ML isn't as yandere as some may like but it IS present in how he deals with others especially those who he perceives want to harm or take away his FL. He can be down right mu*derous toward a person for speaking to his precious FL one moment and loving soft boy to her the next. In the same breath the FL is the one you gotta watch out for lol. She's an amazing character who doesn't give a sh*t about others. She's a yandere herself and manipulative.

Look the point is that this book does get a nod from me. It's weird, raises a few eyebrows, and has some decent writing in it. I've laughed a lot and I am looking forward to more. It's not real life so the idea of the age gap and other stuff doesn't make me blink. Now, if it was real life I would ask WTF but since it isn't I am going to keep reading for my entertainment. All I ask is that you stop reading the comment section, go read at least ten chapters, and if you decide you're done, well, stop reading it. And if you wanna keep diving into the story go for it.

First few chapters were kinda a drag to read, but I tell ya, this novel makes me reluctant to even sleep!

Its very engaging, the pampering is sweet af, the face slapping is great and there is very, very, very little angst to this, which suits my palette so much!

The FL is smart and quite OP, in a sense. Not everytime, but most of the time.

She had plot armor, but hey, I don't mind this as long as the story fits n good.

This is good read.

Really love this unrestrained, fierce and astute type of FML, she didn't take sh*t from anyone, and was always a step ahead. This is slightly gory, specially the climax of the story and it's not really pleasant to those who are sensitive. Please, remember that the title has Yandere in it, and this siblings are very much like that.

I enjoy this trope and my sense of vindictiveness was pleased with the endings of the villains in this story.

5/5 or more. It's a great read!

It's just amazing how it's so vivid and full of emotion in the right places!

No loopholes and the plot was explain properly. The novel was well written with no extra unneeded fillers to skim through.

I've been hook by the emotions on this novel, the slightly overbearing characteristic of our MC whom don't let herself be aggrieved. The sublte at start sweetness to getting fed with dog food at the end. I'm also constantly on my toes and about to personally kill Miao Qi if... more>> possible lol.

Lately this past few month I've been constantly picking and dropping if not holding off to various LN due to either the plot being not properly explained, too many fillers that made it so boring, or just plainly not the one I'm looking for. BUT! But when I picked up this book to read, I can't even let myself drop it off and I want to see how it ends. It's that good.

I didn't expect to finish it today. And I'm contented with how it ended. Ending is properly concluded.

It's worth reading. This novel's charm will hook you.

Tbh I'm not a professional reviewer but I just like leaving footprints on where I have been so I'm leaving this review as a sign. And to also increase the Star Rate of this novel to help it shine and be notice by others.

It's been quite a while since I came across a story this well-written and sensible. It's a no-brainer 5-star novel for me.

The premise:

Spoiler

It's a transmigration story where the female lead, Yu Xiang sacrificed her heart to her twin brother (with a coercion from their horrible mother) so after the brother woke up, he sought to help his sister have a fortunate second life by asking esteemed monks to pray for his sister. However, a s*upid monk intervened and led her soul to end up in a novel instead. Not as a female lead but as a side character who can't walk... yeah...

The only complain I have is that we never get to revisit the original family. We never knew what happened to her twin brother or if he ever exacted revenge on her behalf. I'd also like to know if that s*upid monk got his punishment.

[collapse]

The review:

I love love love this story. I was craving some yandere touch and this one is done amazingly well. Both leads are yandere. They are basically interdependent so it's great that they end up together. I'm not a fan of pairing a yandere with an innocent rabbit. Let the crazy couple be together and everyone is happy.

The ML and FL are adoptive siblings so there is a dubious in*estuous affair here considering they basically grew up together and only knew they were not blood-related in their teens. But their affections are so sweet I'm willing to overlook it lol

Plus, there is actually a reason why they were attracted to each other. The ML was nearly trapped by a prostitute when he was 13 and become indifferent towards women. Only because the FL saved his life time and again and was never scared of him, he became infatuated with her. While the FL first thought of him as her twin brother when she first 'woke up' so he became her lifeline to this novel world.

The plot is also quite nice. The switch-up between two daughters affected the whole story and the arrival of the FL created a ripple effect that touched nearly every character. It's also a nice touch that the FL didn't even read the whole novel before she died so she had to thread very carefully and in the end, became very effective at her job, able to assess the situations and the people and progress forward to the best of her ability. Nothing was handed to her on a silver platter and everything she has, she earned it with her own hands. The same goes with the male lead who fought for everything he earned.

Although the political drama is not the central theme, it was nonetheless well-developed. I was invested and wanted to know more about the palace people. I kind of expected to see more turmoil and struggles but overall it's still satisfactory.

As for the translation, there is a bit of grammatical error and inconsistency, but overall the translation is just *muah* chef's kiss. I love the footnotes and love how the translator took time to list out the names of the people and places to help readers who may not be familiar with Chinese cultures.

The characters:

The characters are mostly well-developed. Though I wish we get to see more of the side characters, many of whom are as intriguing as the main couple.

Yu Xiang: The Female Lead

This is how you write a strong female lead. Capable but not overbearing or too OP. And since it is not a revenge story, the FL was never cold-hearted. She's never out to get anyone. Although she has venomous mouth, she's really just a paper tiger. She scolds people and makes them embarrassed but she never really did anything to them. She actually even tried to be decent to everyone despite the other party not being nice to her. The shu sister, Yu Si Yu, is the prime example. Even though they always argued and YSY tried to seek troubles multiple times, the FL still looks out for her and even tries to matchmake her with a good family.

I also like that she's very petty and possessive towards ML. It's quite refreshing to see this type of FL who say it like it is. She wasn't happy when ML got arranged concubines and she sent them away. She hated ML's fiancé and she separated them. She also held grudges and still caused troubles to the ex-fiancé even after she got married lol

Yu Pin Yan

The male lead. He's the head of the household and also a general. Words can't describe how tragic his life is. He didn't become coldhearted because of the ML halo but simple because he's been through too much heartache. He pretty much massacred his entire family in the struggle to gain Marquis position. His mother was indifferent to him and even once denounced him. Then he had to watch his indifferent mother poured her heart to his new found sister, the motherly love he never felt even though he grew up with her. So it really made sense why he cherished YX so much, she was the only one who cared deeply for him and always opened her arms to embrace him despite his sin.

Yu Si Yu

This is my favorite character development of the entire story. Yu Si Yu started off as a concubine sister who was simply envious of the FL and wanted to kick her out after realizing YX is not their biological sister. But she learned and grew and eventually became a reliable ally to the couple. Contrary to YX who is just childishly tyrannical, YSY is the slap-first-ask-later type of girl. I was cheering for her

Spoiler

when she was drowning YMQ to extract answers and later when she tried to strangle YMQ to death. Definitely the type of friend I'll call if I need a mu*der accomplice hahaha

[collapse]

I was kinda sad that she lost her spunk a bit after she got married and her husband brought in a white lotus concubine and her rude brother. I expected YSY to hold the rein and manage the household the way she dealt with YMQ but she simply argued and put up with it. Though in the end, she resigned to just divorce and remarry.

Yu Miao Qi:

The original female lead of the novel. She was already very black-hearted in the original novel. She's the type that only remember grudges but never gratitude. You can never satisfy her and whatever you do to please her, she would find faults and hate you anyway. Like one time the grandma gave her a protective charm, she got angry because she wanted jewelry and burned the charm. Her adoptive family raised her sincerely and showered her with riches and she cursed them for not revealing her true birth sooner. So just like YX, everything that happened to her is the result of her own doing. No one was ever out to get her. It was herself that was never satisfied and ended up downward spiral and got out of control in the end.

However, her ending left a bad taste in my mouth. Considering it was one of the epilogues, it was a really bad way to end the story. After she was exiled, she was r*ped and later became a prostitute. I'm just not fond of having female characters r*ped as punishment. Just kill her or punished her according to the law and be done with it. Though I actually hoped she died by the hands of the 4th Prince who was the original male lead of the novel. He was also never really in love with her, just using her as a pawn because she's the ML's true blood sister.

Shen Yaun Qi

The FL's biological brother. I feel so sorry for him. His adoptive sister ruined his family, caused the death of his mother, tried to destroy his career, and later sided with his enemy. Even his later god-family wasn't sincere towards him (only the father did, others just used him). Yet he never retaliated, only living his best life and focusing on having peace. I wish the author would give YX and SYQ more time to bond as siblings after they were reunited. But oh well, we're in a yandere story, so the male lead wouldn't allow that xD

I would actually love to read a story with him as the ML though. He definitely got a character.

Old Madam

ML's grandma... I don't like this character at all. While she's one of the FL's supporters, she's actually objectively very selfish. She only treated the FL better after FL saved her grandson repeatedly. Prior to that she mistreated the 'real YX' which caused the real YX to be dimwitted and taken advantage of by everyone, including the servants.

Later in the story, she kept being indecisive and lenient when she shouldn't. If it wasn't because of the FL trying her best to protect the Marquis Manor, this old lady would cause its downfall already. She was also terrible when it came to discerning people, matchmaking YSY with a weak man which resulted in her divorce, and almost matching YX with an abusive man which caused the real YX's death in the original plot. I feel like she's just a tool with little development and was only there to be a grown up in the house.

Another complain I have is the amount of s*upid people in the story. A lot of people don't use their brain when interact with the FL or ML. ML is a general who can kill first and report later and FL is a titled lady. Why would anyone provoke these two intentionally is beyond me. For example, YSY's in-laws kept trying to mock her and seek troubles and the concubine's brother even made fun of YX... like why are you seeking death?

But I have to admit it made for funny scenes and satisfying face-slapping so... 🤷‍♀️

When all is said and done, this is a very nice story. One which I'll be sure to revisit again in the future. <<less

I enjoyed this novel. Usually I'm a little put off by yanderes in general. But because of the reviews I decided to give it a chance. And I'm glad I did. I read it from start to finish and wasn't put off. For one thing, her opponents are actually characters and not exaggerated one dimensional caricatures.

I like how the FEM MC is fiery and willful. And that she's not severely OP like how most of these revenge stories go where the author keeps adding new traits and skills that are... more>> unseemly for someone her age. Accordingly also because she was a handicap and still a child before she transmigrated.

She's extremely lucky in a way but that was explained in the first few chapters as to why. She still has a number of flaws and weaknesses that make her still seem human. And she's a big vinegar jar. Her brother is just as crazy in that aspect. They're shameless together, they really are a match made in heaven. It's both spicy and sweet.

The male MC doesn't fall short either. I'm also a sucker for older brother figures doting on their beloved. The torture scenes, I don't mind it. It's kind of stirring something inside me. But mostly because I felt like the people in that situation deserved it. The whole adopted family getting married doesn't put me off because that's common in Asian media and light novels.

The antagonist (original female MC) is a good foil for the fem MC. As well as the other opportunists and gold diggers while wearing the face of self righteous people trying to uphold morals only for her to smack them down and rip off their pretentious masks. She has a good mouth on her that can really give a scolding. And vicious in a way where I feel gratified. The faceslaps are so satisfying. So yes, I am saving this to reread again for another time. <<less

Thankfully there are other female characters who are also good, so at least it's not like every female other than MC is evil and plotting against everyone.

The name of the novel already shows that the couple is not going to be normal and since MC and ML have known since childhood that they're not actually siblings.. Eh it didn't really matter.

And there's an actual reason to the transmigration and the 'luck' she has which is rare to find.

Read the tags before starting tho and know from the title what you're getting into. It's not that extreme but it's definitely a very co-dependent relationship. <<less

I still give this 4 star because overall it kinda well written. It just don't arouse my... more>> like. <<less
