I enjoyed this book, I smiled a lot. It was refreshing that the love rival wasn’t another person it was a video game

This novel is pretty adorable and also quite extensive on the gaming part. And it’s different from the usual cold MLs so it’s a fresh take I’d say.

I find our ML so endearing because her optimism and naivety on the world contagious. I love that about her because she sees the good in others and think about others more often like with the whole thing with Oblivion. She’s also strong headed and I think that makes her a strong FL.

But it’s because of her positive outlook and innocence that makes... more>> our ML pretty frustrated hahaha the way he ‘removes’ potential love rivals or anyone who disturbs FL is funny. And his confession though.....

Damn who would’ve thought of building a house from scratch and including a voice recording of him confessing???? He’s pretty creative and romantic!!

It could get draggy towards the ending but it’s good enough that there’s no dog blood scenes just our FL’s growing obsession for gaming hahahaha

But..... not gonna lie..... the epilogue.... ahhhh <3 I love our ML but there’s always something about cold, aloof characters and I’m glad Shen Zemu got a happy ending as well <3 would love to read a separate story of those two thooo aaaaa <<less

Not my cup of tea. I despise those silly girls who simply let them be bullied just because the guy looks good or has a nice voice. Perhaps the situation gets better later. But right now, around chapter 50, I'm just totally annoyed.

It's a sweet and lighthearted story about couple (s) who met and fell in love through game. I said couples because there were 3 couples in this story.

  1. The main couple is Lin Chuyan and Xiang Nuan. Actually at first, Xiang Nuan liked Shen Zemu. She even join the game just so she could play together with him. Unfortunately, he looked down on her when they played together for the first time and made Xiang Nuan disheartened. Xiang Nuan ended up being friends with Lin Chuyan because they both were noob player. From then on, they advanced together from being a noob to become a master. Actually later, Shen Zemu began to like her too but he already lost his chance after looking down on her at that time because his action made Xiang Nuan and Lin Chuyan accidentally became friends and later finally became a coupe. Shen Zemu was kind of pitiful for his unrequited love but fortunately he had his happy ending too at the end of the story.
  2. The second couple is Chen Yinghu and Ke Ke. There were not much interaction between both of them in the novel. They met online and became a couple but Ke Ke suddenly went missing after she borrowed a large sum of money from Chen Yinghu. People around him believed that he got scammed and persuaded him to report her to the police but Chen Yinghu refused because he still believed that Ke Ke had her own circumstances. It turned out Ke Ke really got an accident and lost her memories. They reunited again after Ke Ke accidentally read Chen Yinghu's postcard.
  3. The third couple is Shen Zimu and Yang Yin. Yang Yin was Shen Zimu's coach team when he and his friends (including the main couple) join a championship. They became an acquaintance but later got closer after he helped her by being an analyst for her team. They became more intimate after interacting more often and finally became a couple too.

The plot is actually quite simple but I still love it. There's not much drama and misunderstanding. I'm just disappointed about 1 thing and it made me deduced 1 star from this novel.

It's the stereotype about being ugly for having a darker skin. As an Asian myself, I know that having a light skin was still being a standard to be called as "pretty". Although I'm disagree with that absurd standard but it was still a fact in the current society. But still, I hope the author could embrace the different type of beauty and didn't put the stigma in his/her story.

Cute and sweet romance between 2 gamers. ML is a typical genius in school who met FL in game. FL started playing the game as a beginner and improved over time while playing with ML. They didn't start out liking each other but were at least friends. Later, they slowly fell for each other and some little shamelessness ensue. I pity the second ML a little, but he got a good end as well in the extras which was equally cute. Plot was mainly FL, ML and friends playing the... more>> game, improving and joining competitions. Overall, not overly exciting novel but pretty cute and the occasional shamelessness is quite funny too. <<less

i have one word for this, awesome.

before I read this novel, I was quite sceptical as I didnt really like gaming novels. but boy, did it prove me wrong.

those sweet times, as its title suggests, is super sweet. the fluff is so tooth rotting and I probably got diabetes from it. imean- nuannuan and chuyan are just that cute.

this novel really made me experience many emotions, and I felt like I was following the mc's journey. aaaaa I felt heartbreak for xz and huge... and how society can be messed... more>> up sometimes.

the family interactions are very funny as well. istg their parents are as savage as hell.

there are 2 things that bothered me a little though. first is the fathers treatment of the son. I understand that asian parents are like that (im an asian myself), but I honestly felt a little triggered at how the father treated his son. his justification of himself is that since he was poor when he was young, he had to work very hard to succeed and so he wants his son to experience those hardships. from that sentence, it doesnt sound that bad, but what the father did was to give him minimum amount of money and basically didnt show much care (tho inside I think he does) for his son. chuyans reaction to this is interesting, to say.

2ndly is the "fair skin stereotype". I mostly ignored this one but I have to say that it wasnt pleasant to read.

after nuannuan and chuyans story ended, it felt somewhat incomplete, whhhhhyyy is there only 89 chaps for them;-; anyway, I reaaally enjoyed this novel alot. <<less

This is based loosely on League of Legends (or more like mobile legends in this case) so having the knowledge of that game helped me to understand this a LOT and it made the story much, much more fun to read for me. The gaming part took a huge chunk of the story, like 70% of it are filled with gaming terms, and in this story ML and FL are both genius at the game..... seriously they reached Master in less than 3 months from Bronze.

But even if I exclude... more>> the gaming part of this novel, the FL was just too adorable and I love their bickering. I also love their relationship with their parents, its so fun to read. Overall I reaaaaaaaaaaaaally enjoyed this and wished this could go on for 100 or more chapters, especially on the side characters, I feel like author could have expanded their story even better.

This novel really fits the title, Those Sweet Times from both of them. I can imagine them (main characters) 10~20 years down later reminiscing about their sweet times on this novel. <<less

I'm sated.

Im pretty satisfied with the story, I love the characters especially the FL she's so cute and adorable! The ML is quite mischevious as well he's always two steps ahead of the FL. Towards the end the story focused more on the Romance aspect and made the game part feel very lacking, though it is fine the story was satisfying and made up for its shortcomings. The side characters also feel very real and don't feel as if they're only there to be fillers for the plot. Very satisfying. The way the FL and ml's relationship progressed was definitely an interesting adventure. I like the way the author created her characters, FL has a strong personality but not domineering and the ML is playful but also has his serious moments. All in all, the book was a great read and though I don't really understand gaming, the author definitely made it easy to understand what they were doing when they were playing. I like the fact that FL did not end up with her male idol but... more>> instead, ended up with a person who also just started playing the game like the fl. <<less

It was a fun read, the ML has a funny sense of humor and cheeky as heck! The FL was cute, little bit dumb but tolerable, that's all it became a little boring in between cause I don't understand gaming plots that much but the humor is enough to keep reading a little bit

It's a fun read! If you ever want to get cleansed after reading a heavy or smutty novel then I can recommend this. I don't really get games and I don't take the detailed game plays in here too seriously BUT you'll eventually get the gist of it. It's not too taxing in your mind. The first five or ten chapters might bore you but I'd say it's worth sticking.

The main couple will surely give you diabetes. Before they dated they like to bicker a lot and tease each other... more>> so you can't really call their relationship all flowers and chocolates. Plus the girl is a game addict! I like that they started off as game buddies then hit it off as real life friends before moving up their relationship. They're both adorable in my eyes.

The main story ended around ch86++ (i think?) and I went on and dropped it @ ch98. So after the main couple's story comes Hu Ge's (about 2 chapters) and followed by Shen Zemu's. I dropped it bec I don't vibe with his love life. I mean, he's a boring guy and I would've stick with it if his FL is interesting but their ship feels off. It feels forced. I don't feel the chemistry. <<less
