I did not rate it cause I finished the raw version of the book.

But I have to say, I like the overall plot and concept of the book.

I like both MC and ML.

Also the villains on different worlds and the main villain of the story.

Fine! HERE IT IS!!!

From my understanding of the ending... MC and ML are from the distant future. Very distant future. Do you want more?

This is what from my understanding:

In their current era; after thousands of years of human genes kept evolving becoming more and more powerful and perfect genes. The former inferior genes has long been extinct. Apparently there was a long-lost ancient gene called 'White Lotus' gene on their parent Blue Star (Earth highly chance they meant) in the novel's lore.

There was even a legend: Whoever has or uses the White Lotus gene can bring endless disaster to the people around that person. If this disaster kept on expanding, even the whole world is destroyed. So the descendants of humanity who survived the catastrophe in all those years ago, didn't want it to happened again.

So the Empire (where MC and ML are from) made a new game called: White Lotus. This game was made to make everyone be aware of the of how deadly the White Lotus gene is. This made people go to the hospitals to check their genes for fragments of the White Lotus gene to have it removed from their body. There is a reason for me to put this explanation.

As for MC's and ML's position in their world? From my understanding is the MC and ML knows each other quite well. They were already lovers in their real world.

MC

MC is the programmer of the "game".

MC paid countless hours to create the game. As he about to complete the game, he didn't know how or why did a loophole pop up in the game system. In addition this loophole in the system cannot be fixed (you'll know why). Thanks to the loophole the former tester was actually locked in the game and couldn't come out. In order to figure out what happened, MC decides to also enter the game. But what he didn't know is the ML actually followed him.

Thus the main reason why MC was inside the game.

ML

ML is the provider of core technology of the "game" so he has higher authority than MC.

When MC entered the game ML followed him. During that time, ML sealed (ab*se of power!) all of MC's memories to make him fall in love at him again.

Main reason for ML to entered the game was to get along with his wifey and another reason was because the "game" has the courage to marry his wifey (I think it meant the actual game like making MC marries an NPC because that how you need to play and finish the game) !

But once he entered the "game" he found the so-called loophole in system was.

Truth about the whole thing!

Anyways MC put too much attention and feelings on the process of writing for the game. To make a more realistic portrayal of White Lotus, MC searched for countless materials about White Lotus for the game. To the point the he kept on updating again and again until it was a perfect White Lotus. As a result of MC's seriousness and dedication, the White Lotus in the "game" gained actual consciousness and feelings. And those feelings were towards MC and wanted to marry him...

So the "game" made a loophole in the system causing people (or tester) to investigating the problem. In the end the problem was not being resolve but also added a problem on detaining the people inside game. The system was trying to get MC's attention by causing more problems for him to look into it and trap him.

Of course it worked and MC went inside the game to look for this problem.

As possessive ML is, he followed wifey to the game and found out the whole charade...

After all he whoever tries to take his wifey away... Say bye-bye to life.

Up to PyonYan's review, my 5 stars also for author and previous translator only !

This is my first time here when the translator ask for your money to read their translation when they don't even consider to ask readers to support author instead. It would be different when it's donation as appreciation, this is obviously marketing other goods for themselves.

Well, for story it's really worth to read. I hope there would be other translator taking this project. I wish I could be fluent in chinese and I will translate it... more>> by myself and also support the author, sigh. <<less

It's annoying when people give bad reviews but don't even finish the story or even the arc that they are reading. Why review something you didn't complete????? Makes no sense.

For people upset at the first arc, it makes sense if you actually read the whole arc, and by the whole arc..... I mean arc 1 isn't finished until the MC goes into the 3rd world. Your questions will be answered there!

To sum it up

IN THE FIRST ARC:

  • The ML is not a thot/playboy/man whore. It was an act to fool his dad. ML is disgusted with touching others!
  • The ML didn't fall in love with the second male lead the first time around because his soul was different. Has nothing to do with gender! He likes the MC's SOUL.
  • The MC was disgusted with ML at first because he thought the ML was a man whore, but they become friends and he learns the ML isn't that type. The ML chased the MC for months with sincere feelings, after that the MC was indifferent towards ML and feels as long as ML really cares about him then he's ok staying with him! He only beat ML because he FORCED a kiss on him aggressively. He forgave him because they are FRIENDS (the author time skipped a few months).
  • The ML kept with the white lotus and tortured her in the previous life because of REVENGE. She killed his best friend! He didn't love her!!!!

Hope that clears up anyone saying stuff without reading the whole thing. If you still don't like the ARC that is fine but don't criticize things that are clearly explained. Read the whole thing!

MC is super hypocritical. If this story was told from any other perspective he would be the villain. He condemns everyone as evil while he does the same exact thing. ML has love brain and only listens to MC so he thinks everything he does is also right.

How should I put this? It's... not good. How on earth do you expect to write a good romance when you're time skipping every bit of development? We don't get to know how the ML won the MC over in terms of friendship, nor how their relationship was when MC accepted his feelings (with no internal dialogue to let us know what MC is thinking), and then goes on to ... more>>

give us sacrificial love endings and su*cide endings, when it hasn't even been revealed in any way that MC actually loves ML. Did MC commit su*cide because his mission was done? Or did he love him? We don't know. Anyway, an ending like that should have made me cry, but I felt like I'd read a detailed synopsis of a plot rather than an actual story, so I felt nothing.

We were advertised a story about a man being transmigrated into a variety of different stories and offing the FL in some way, but to do so, he's going against the mission he's given. But as long as he raises his favorability with her once, it doesn't matter anymore and he can do whatever? I get that his system is an idiot, but it didn't say anything at all when he was manipulating the white lotus' downfall (in a messy way, I might add. He was just going to let himself get hit by a car? This was so s*upid).

In the world of written yaoi, there are some pretty good ones, occasionally some incredible ones, but most of them are tr*sh. They're poorly written with shoddy developments and archetypes, and things get r*pey too often. This one isn't as bad as that. But it's definitely no Quickly Wear the Face of the Devil. <<less

when I read this novel years ago I loved it so much, especially the first arc, so when a translator finally picked up this novel again I jumped with joy—UNTIL I REALIZED HOW MISOGYNISTIC THIS NOVEL IS 😐😐

another review mentioned how the MC and the white lotus do the same thing but the MC is praised while the white lotus is condemned. WELL for some reason the author can't keep track of what they write so THE MC IS ALSO CONTRADICTORY TO HIMSELF 💀

what'll happen is they'll write the MC... more>> doing A, B, and C in one chapter, and then in another chapter have the MC condemn A, B, and C...

at the end of arc 3, he purchased some vampiric bloodlines to become half vampire. then in arc 4 he becomes a shadow guard. and at the beginning, he 'only killed when necessary' but then after a few months of adjustment he starts killing to upgrade his vampiric bloodline and indulge in his thirst for blood.

switch to a later arc, and the MC is condemning some demons for doing the exact same thing:

'Hearing these words, Lin Zisheng (mc) couldn't help but sigh.

Initially, demons only consumed humans for self-preservation, but now many demons eat humans to absorb their strength, or even worse, purely for their own indulgence. It was appalling!'

BUT NOT JUST THE MC IS CONTRADICTORY. EVEN THE ML GETS HYPOCRITICAL AS HELL

in one arc, 'Yan Yu's (ml) mother escaped the fate of being auctioned off because she was the legitimate wife of the former patriarch (ml's father). However, the former patriarch didn't treat her well either. In his eyes, she was just a reproductive machine, a mere tool to be used and discarded at will, nothing more than an instrument for the Cheng family to handle affairs. Therefore, life at home was not satisfying.

If it weren't for him being a satisfactory heir, Yan Yu's mother might have been in an even more miserable situation within the Yan family.'

SO BASICALLY HE WAS A sh*t FATHER. AND YET YOU KNOW WHAT THE IS SAID LATER??

'After the female lead married the male lead, she discovered that her life wasn't as happy as she imagined. It turned out that in the male lead's heart, she was just a tool for bearing offspring.'

and the language that they use to describe women is CONSTANTLY DEGRADING THEM. like nobody is a bigger hater on women than the author. EVERYTHING women do in this novel is must be brainless, driven by jealousy, and villainous

the reason I read all the way to arc 5 was cus all the arcs start off with interesting concepts, but they always disappoint me the more I read

although I said in the beginning how much I loved the first arc, it's honestly not good either. I loved it for how vague and simple the writing was, it felt kind of like how I imagined stories up in my head. but now after 5 whole arcs I can confidently say that it's not a style of the author, it's just bad writing. <<less

I like this story so far, but the nee translator think they are the actual author, and want us to pay 5$/month for a story ongoing. They never put one chapter free since 4 months ago, and they translate a new chapter each week.

I was wondering why I never got a notification since 4 months, now I know it's because they use it to get money. I will MTL the story, and I will strongly wish some other translator will continue to translate since the last free chapter.

It's 5:38 in the morning and I just finished reading the first arc. My whole expression was ಠ_ಠ. I was reading ErHa and just wanted a small break by reading some QTs, but god, give me back my wasted time. It's so badly written that I don't even know where to start. The inconsistency of the characters' personality, weird timeline, plotholes, and bland scenarios. The romance is way too fast paced that even me, somebody who prefers fast paced romance feels weirded out. Like damn the ML really just brushed... more>> past the MC and suddenly he's all charmed and obsessed. ML didn't even take a good look at MC's face first before he choked his friend saying I'll kill you if you touch him or something •́ ‿, •̀ man who even is you.

Furthermore the thing that I'm most annoyed with... the unbelievably s*upid, almost to an unnecessary extent, white lotus female lead. She really got me thinking how the hell she even managed to graduate elementary school. And the ending of arc 1?? *Inhales* MANN WAS THAT REALLY NEEDED. WHERE DID MC EVEN GET HIS GUNNNN *exhales*. Anyway, I'm currently lying on my bed and I'm filled with rage so I needed to vent a little bit through writing this review. I guess this book will suit people who are looking for some quick face slappings, other than that I truly don't know why you would kill your own braincells by reading this. So I only really only read the first arc but I can already tell that things were not gonna get any better. I didn't appreciate the way they made the white lotus looked, like with their description of her she should have been described as a fake one to begin with. The fact that the ML fell in love with him at first glance the second time around, like why not the first time too? Even weirder the ML likes women but can so easily switch to liking men. The... more>> ML was also described as being a thot. He jumped from women to women but he's alright. But the fake white lotus jumped between 2 men and she's intolerable, admittedly behind their backs but you know there isnt that much difference between the two of them. The ML started chasing the MC and the MC pretends not to know his thoughts when the system can literally let him know exactly what he's thinking. I just decided not to continue reading, it would really be nice to have better justified reasons to hate on characters and not discriminate on gender. And just better plots with better characters and villains as well. <<less

So the white lotus tries to kill the MC but ends up hitting the ML with a car instead. Why these two powerful families who knew she had a grudge put absolutely no surveillance on her I'll never know. He drops the truth that makes very little sense on her head she runs away gets hit by a car (most likely all we know is breaks screeched) and then they're at the hospital with the mother blaming the MC for the accident. The ML ends up brain dead and the MC shoots himself in the head at his bedside because...... No reason. In an extra it turns out the guy wasn't a man who*e got better from being brain dead and was in denial about this guy's death for 10 years before accepting his death and going to his graveside to shoot himself in the head with the same gun.

I dont really understand all the 5stars in the review. This is straight up brain dead, like the white lotus dont have a brain at all. The storyline is here and there, the ML is not really likeable (despite his back story), the only thing I like is the MC personality. Maybe shut off half of your brain and normal thinking ability then you can read?

Seriously, I couldn’t finished the first arc. The plot is just that bad. All the characters’ actions don’t make any sense at all.

Never-mind that ML is a typical yandere type and the female lead is a typical s*upid green tea b*tch, but even the MC character doesn’t add up at all.

For example, he always feel disgusted by the ML, who falls in love at first sight and became a stalker, and only tolerates ML because he want some extra points. After ML confessed (and also forced kissing him) he didn’t agree and just beat the ML. But the day after that, he suddenly become okay with being a couple with ML even if the mission doesn’t require him to be with ML.

the first arc was... um... how to say... it was all over the place. I feel like I was reading an April Fools chapter or something. most of it doesn’t even make sense ?? but turns out you have to read the whole novel for it to make sense.

arc 2 and 3 were okay though, at least better than arc 1. but I think anything can be better than arc 1 as long as you graduate from elementary school...

i wouldn’t know about the remaining arcs though because the translator asked... more>> readers to pay 5$/month LOL this is the most shameless translator I've seen, because they are making profits out of someone else’s work.

my conclusion is that I think skipping arc 1 is okay if you want to read this. and using MTL is also okay after arc 3. <<less

The plot of the arcs are very interesting but it lacks alot of depth (?). I feel like reading children books.

Everything is happening simply too fast and simple. The protagonist and the ML are... I think its called 2D characters.

The villains are only people whose heads are just decoration. It may seem like I am a masochist but I like the White Lotuses quite a bit, definetely more than the MC and ML.

It's so much like FoD. I know alot of people would probably criticize me for comparing them, but it honestly is like it. And the arcs are all interesting too. This is definitely one of the better QT novels on this site, even if their isn't alot of translated chapters right now.

it's nice to see a MC who can kick *ss as well as scheme with the best of them. There were a few worlds I didn't like and one was confusing since with MTL there were at least two family members with the name Lin Biao and one Lin Bo. The sentences would talk about Lin Biao and Lin Biao and you just have to guess who or let it go. Hopefully our lovely translator will fix that little problem when they get to that world. The ending was interesting... more>> and overall I thought it was fairly good. Not a lot of explicit smut (fade to black for harmony and all that) and the MC doesn't get eaten right away so there is time for feelings to grow through the first few worlds. Looking forward to more translated chapters. <<less

It's uh... Questionable quality.

There's "love at first sight" and then there's "love at first sight" written like this story. There might be an explanation further down in the story (a lover from a past life or some other trope common in these multi-transmigration) that I'm not aware of at the time of reading it. But at the moment, the love at first sight in the 1st arc is jarring and poorly written.

I've seen it successfully pulled off and this is not one of those cases.

I dont know if its the way its written but I really cant get myself to read more than the 1 arc. I did t even read it fully and skipped most of the chapters.

There are so many inconsistencies? Like wtf is this end... and the extra ab ML ! It doesnt looks like its the dude from the original story.. im really confuse and disappointed.
