Shen Qiao makes me try to be a better person, Yan Wushi shows me that it's ok to hold on to your beliefs (albeit his beliefs are kind of morally wrong in society)

I didnt feel it was an amazing to die novel but I would say it was good. I enjoyed the story, it was never boring. I especially love the circular karmatic cycle that the author used frequently.

It's a good read :) give it a try. You may learn something about life from it. Like sometimes you need... more>> to lose everything to gain a whole new world :) <<less

i dropped this at c22. I think it has great world building and good potential. It seems like the kind of plot i'd usually love. I just can't seem to stand any of the character. Yes our MC included. Something about every single character i've seen so far bothers me. Like they're lacking and wasn't written very well. They just don't feel real. May be I might come back to it again if I feel like it.

Fantastic! I love the interaction between the MC and ML. I don't want to say much because I always screw it up.

Highly recommended. And with regard to donghua, I also recommend it, I think they made a very good adaptation.

I found this novel over the donghua, and what I didn't expect is that it would become one of my favourites very quickly. Main reasons being: the world-building, Shen Qiao's character: aka portray of a strong willed character that also isn't a Mary Sue, Yan Wushi's shameless flirt personality, and the humor! The story itself is very plot-driven and the romance is slow burn as the novel primarily focuses on development of the characters first. Initially, I was really excited about this and I really couldn’t wait to read it. And while I did enjoy it for the most part, there were places I got bored and other places I felt like could do with a bit more explanation while at the same time the repetition of the same basic explanation in other places was downright annoying.

I wished that the whole fight for the throne was drawn out. Like it just felt wait to quick. One second that guy took over and the next we... more>> hear nothing about it until suddenly, we’re back on the storyline and his reigns over within seconds. I get that it wasn’t the main plot point and just serves to further advance the relationship between the characters as well as put the MC back in his rightful place but it could have been more interesting since it was still part of the storyline.

this also goes for the setup on YW I felt like that whole situation surrounding the fight could have been more detailed but again, I know it was just a plot point for development and he’s not the MC.

over all pretty interesting tho so I’ll rate it 4.5 <<less

How I wish it will be longer.. the interaction and bickering between the leads just adorable.... maybe at some point the thing that Yan Wushi had done seem can't be forgiven but when we look at certain point the action seem bearable for those who never treated with that kind of kindness and Shen Qiao show how love and doing kindness repeatedly can melt even an iron heart. Great novel plot wise but the romance was unconvincing. I would not even describe it as a slow burn, just slow. I would recommend this novel to those looking for well written characters that develop throughout the story but not to those looking for an earth shattering romance.

A very rare time when I spent just 3-4 days to finish a kinda-long-story. Thousand Autumns is indeed very good to read. It is not only about romantic relationship, but also included political affairs, histories that were in fact exist, bad-good human relationship, etc. The main characters are also very likable, even though the ML is a bit... well, you know it. But anyway, my another favorite danmei novel all the time.

At first, I only read first few chapters and got muddled with all the history and politics and was disinterested. BUT I saw the donghua and couldn't help but crawl back here to read the rest of the chapters and.... damn...

Though the plot was heavily influenced by the history, I loved Shen Qiao's character growth and Yan Wushi's thick face. Their relationship was definitely different, interesting and a fresh breath from all other bl novels that I've read so far.

The donghua's plot is little different but interesting nonetheless and YWS... more>> is so damn hot that it left me speechless. And SQ is so P R E T T Y ! ! Getting a face to imagine while reading your favorite characters is absolutely wonderful.

This Novel is Amazing I can't wait to Finished it and know what will happen in the End.

Firstly: I'm so annoyed by Yan Wushi behavior he is totally not my ML Type I don't know if I'll change my mind about him in the future or not, but I like Shen Xiao he is My protagonist type but I also hate how he is so pure in the heart in a s*um world like this. Even after all this betrayal from his Martial brother and Yan Wushi he still can't... more>> hate them and blame himself for his ignorance.

Secondly: This Novel plot is well developed and makes you live the suffering, sadness, happiness with the characters. I can say it is great as 2Ha.

Lastly, if you want to read this novel try to put your heart in ice or put ice instead of your heart in your chest because in every chapter you'll be angry because of Yan Wushi's s*upidness. I was so angry at him that I could be vomiting blood.

This book holds a cherished place in my heart. The author, Meng Xi Chi, possesses a remarkable talent for character development, crafting individuals who feel vividly real. Even as someone typically uninterested in political narratives, I found their portrayal of political affairs utterly captivating and addictive. Furthermore, the fight scenes are masterfully executed, employing unique metaphors and vivid descriptions, a rare and compelling stylistic choice. This is a book I'd eagerly revisit time and again.

in volume 2, I literally could not put it down. The author clearly knows and loves history, and the political parts of the plot were really intriguing without being overly complex, and worked super well with the wuxia martial arts plot and setting, but the best part of the book was easily the characters. The main character Shen Qiao is amazing, I thought he was a little boring and flat at first but then BAM! His character development is incredible and he ended up being my favorite character! Yan Wushi is also an amazing character, he also gets a little development all while remaining an insufferable (and extremely funny) a**hole. Even the side characters had really memorable personalities, I especially love Bai Rong and the little disciples! <<less

I didn't want this to end it took me nearly a month and a half to finish.. Though now it’s been nearly 2 years since then. I probably wrote a more eloquent review when I did finish but I’ll forever praise how beautiful Qian Qiu is!!! It’s politically focused yet it serves as a thorough character study on Shen Qiao as he surveys the world while physically and figuratively opening his eyes again. The relationship is somewhat secondary, or at least the romance is. I loved seeing Shen Qiao’s growth... more>> with Yan Wushi’s influence, yet we also see him remain steadfast in his kindness and beliefs. He isn’t naive by the end, yet he still searches for the best in people. His fall from grace elevates his capabilities and he flourishes into a strong leader. And of course it’s fun to see him interact with YW.

I picked up this as a hole filler while waiting for another novel translation, and cuz I had absolutely nothing to do and this just happened to slip in my hands. And it's been 3 months since I finished reading this, and I'm still absolutely obsessed with it. It was funny, it was interesting, the translator did a good job.

About the characters Yan Wushi and Shen Qiao are complete opposites, but I loved them both, especially Yan Wushi, but I love villains to begin with.

About the story, it might not... more>> be the best plot twisting story I've read, but the plot with character development was enough for me.

Tho, when I started reading peerless I had to go back to TA (extrass) to take notes who is who (⁠ﾉ⁠≧⁠∇⁠≦⁠) ⁠ﾉ⁠ ⁠ﾐ⁠ ⁠┻⁠━⁠┻ and I still enjoyed it af, absolutely recommend 20/10

This is one of the few BL novels I’ve read that in my mind doesn’t rely on romance and in some cases doesn’t even need it. Shen Qiao is a great protagonist his journey and growth are interesting to watch. Meanwhile Yan Wushi for the majority of the novel is one of the worst Main Leads I’ve ever read. He’s snide to the MC treats their life and their personality switch arc doesn’t serve to improve his standing at all. Most MLs will care about their partner to an extent... more>> but YW barely does. Their relationship is interesting but a romance honestly seems to make it less interesting.

Also I have to note not just in terms of this one but most BL novels it’s a terrible experience trying to read these online. Jumping from different translation groups to some of them taking their translations offline entirely just makes the whole experience miserable. The quality can go from mediocre to downright terrible and that’s when you can find it. If these are so highly rated then how are people even supposed to read them unless everyone unconsciously goes straight to MTL. <<less

This is a great novel, very literary. Not so heavy on plot, but heavy on world building. This may not sell for light readers, but definitely lighter than the rest (probably because I read some spoilers). Admittedly, this can not hold my attention span so at most this is a 4-4.5 star for me. Im actually a light and romance only reader and only enjoyed a few novels that are mainstreamed, only reading it because I wanted to see the hype about them but ending up not thoroughly enjoying it... more>> because it is not my type. Dont get me wrong, this is a great novel but more on intricacies and not romance, and yeah, as I said, not my type.

The romance is subtle, and the story focuses more on Shen Qiao's journey. He's cute, beautiful and his growth is amazing. ACctually it really is a good novel, everything, growth, world building, side characters, motivation even the subtle romance is written so good. You'd enjoy it if you're in the mood and more on literary type of novels. Fanfic topes, face slapping peeps, not so much. <<less

I love Shen Qiao from the bottom of my heart and I also dislike Yan Wushi very much. It seems like Yan Wushi's love awakening happened in that one chapter in MTL that I skimmed, because I didn't understand why Yan Wushi suddenly realised he loved Shen Qiao after abandoning him in the temple.

Heartily recommend this novel (especially the MissEvan/猫儿FM audiodrama - chef's kiss) to fans of wuxia, growth journeys, and opposites-attract romances. This novel features a Daoist MC that you cannot help but root for and admire (he moved me to tears several times), a complex and intriguing ML (that I grew to care and swoon a bit for - the voice actor takes much credit too), and a satisfying wuxia and political intrigue-filled plot. This story does not contain as much romance, flirting as some others nor as much comedy (as... more>> eg MDZS) but is instead mature and serious.

It didn't have me fangirling throughout but was a lovely companion during these dreary winter days reminding me that 'this too shall pass' and that sticking to one's values and way of life is worth it.

I'm going to check out Peerless next ;) <<less

I read this after watching the donghua (I highly recommend the donghua - Yan Wushi has the most divine voice! "A-qiao~") and it ended on a cliffhanger. I wasn't disappointed.

The story is great - has some fluff but is also full of political intrigue so it's a story you have to read with some concentration, keep aside time for it. The romance is of the slow burn variety - very realistic and full of hope.

Shen Qiao is cute, yes, but read it for Yan Wushi!

AND I am not disappointed he is really like that lol

I almost dropped it at first seeing MC but when YWS came out I am immediately hooked

since the time I first read this novel many years ago till now he’s still has second place in the list of man I like the most

I really do wish writer nowadays could be braver and write this type of man more
