Yaoying transmigrated into a novel.

I haven't even reached the part where MC met ML and I'm awestruck! Seriously, I cried buckets. MC past with his brother (Li Zhongqian), MC kindness, what the emperor did to MC, her sacrifice, all of it is gonna make you dry your eye ducts.

This novel has no urgent need of ML. I still rated this as 5 even tho I have't met ML yet, because it's just that good.

I love everything about this novel and I love how it portrayed her struggle in this society. Especially how the author showed the power struggle between the princes and how his brother tried his best to support her and their mother. I also want to punch the OG!FL in the face that s*upid btch. She's always crying and sobbing and making a fuss about how her life was such a sob story then run away and in turn it affected other people.

Fair warning: The plot is realistic. Our FL sacrificed... more>> too much without using or stepping on anyone else. Barbarians are barbarians with r*pe, robbing and all that shizz.

As a woman she was bartered to an old man outside of the border to prevent a war that ultimately still happened because of underhanded schemes of the villain.

Anyway I love her. It made me cry a couple of times and this novel is one of the top ones on my list. This has a heavier plot that Eight Treasure Trousseau. <<less

I'm so glad I've picked this novel. It's the best novel I've read here so far, and I've read quite a lot of novels !

The ML is the best I have found, handsome of course, with all the qualities of a main lead, but without this dominant /overbearing trait we find sometimes in novels of this genre here. His growth is amazingly written.

And the MC has such a good personality. You'll never find her annoying or too arrogant/selfish.

I loved this novel, I preferred the translated chapters of course (because... more>> it is so well written... 😔) but I mtled the rest of the novel. I'd love to re read it once all the chapters are translated, because some parts MTLed were a bit confusing. <<less

I once read somewhere that the antagonist will always seem like a villain from the protagonist's perspective. This book just fully encompasses that.

(Disclaimer is that this review is based on my feelings, so what I feel maybe different from every other person.)

The MC is very smart and and just so lovely yk. But I wanna start with some supporting characters that I wanna punch in the face.

Li Xuanzhen, this mf's hatred for anyone with the Xie name makes my head boil. Although I'm seeing some changes where he'd sometimes let the MC off. He's still an a*s overall.

Princess Fukang, MS GURL WHY DO YOU KEEP IMPLICATING OUR MC EVEN THOUGH YOU DON'T MEAN IT LIKE AAAAA. She's not a green tea character btw she's just idiotic like when she got into a deal with the Hu tribe, she didn't even think of how the Hu tribe might cheat her out the deal. She just straight up went, " this 60 year old grandpa said I can flee from this country if I marry him. No need to think of how I'll be passed around like a family heirloom to every other tribe leader after this old grandpa."

I think her character really shows a contrast between the MC and her. I don't even know how Li Xuanzhen fell for her.

Emperor Li De, he's a somewhat good monarch but he doesn't deserve to be a father and husband. He's just terrible and calculating I wanna punch him over and over.

Xie Qing, the bodyguard - he's not the male lead but like SIR MARRY ME. He's a loyal man and I just like him so much.

MC's brother surnamed LI that I forgot the name of (I'm not good with names.) HE'S THE BEST BROTHER YOU COULD HAVE. He protects his I'll mother and does his best to protect the MC. He's not fighting for the throne and just wants to keep his little family safe from Li Xuanzhen and every other bad person in the palace. At first I was sceptical of him cause the rumors did say he was ruthless and uncaring (which is kinda true but if his family's protection could be secured, he could be 100x more ruthless just to keep the MC and their I'll mother safe.)

The MC Yaoying is a really intelligent girl. She's also kind and AAAA I love her.

I can't go deep yet since I think each chapter is divided into 2 by the translator so chapter 57 maybe chapter 28 in the raws idk¯\_ (ツ) _/¯. <<less

This was actually good, because it was good, it made me diff again to find the next novel to read.

This novel is good, the FL was smart, but not the usuall smart, badass FL like the typicall chiness novel. The one that usually in chiness novel was unbeatable, tho sometimes I love it, because it was like woman's dream ro be that badass. FL was also badass, smart, but the story written more real, she has her ups an down, she smart but not overbearing, she was badasd but not... more>> superior, she was superior but in more real way. She is straitforward but not cross the line, her love was pure and glad that this one was not shy one nor the aggressive one. Everythink was on point.

ML was great, I love him in both of his identites, and it was ok for me too if turned out he only the Sultan.

I am also religious person tho I wasn't buddhist, but more or less I knew about it. I am glaf he was more trye to him self, it better be honest to yourself. In a way, I think they were a soulmate, since the ML never had a change to had an option. His way of life was chosen by others and sfter that he thought that the right path for him.

I often skip chapter in novel, because kots of them were good to read but to draggy, this one, I was religiously read every chapter. The character building, the plot, the chemistry, it all was good. And perfect with a bit of snu2 in the end just to complete the chemist between the them.

I hope it will translate until it finished, tho I read it through mtl after that, we all know, mtl had the tendency to made you frustated. Try to read it. It wad good, it slow build romance, but you will drawn to the story, because you would enjoyed the process. <<less

What a masterpiece. The author managed to craft a compelling tale about people who struggled to survive and protect what was precious to them, preserving hope and kindness despite the helplessness and ugliness of life that befall them. The plot was cruel at times but was never suffocating. And by the end of the story, it left not only a satisfying feeling but also tranquility - the aftertaste that lingers for a long more. Truly one of the best stories I've read.

I just want to thank the translator and editor for translating this wonderful novel so beautifully. Excellent work so a 👍 to them.

The novel itself is intriguing and I must say the plot is rare not your usual CN novel. I was hooked up from the first chapter. The author wrote it in a detailed and well explained manner so its very understandable. The characters are also consistent on how they should be. And every characters are unique. I love how this novel really touches my feeling. I really cried... more>> for the FL and her brother. I love her bravery, intelligent and how kind hearted she is. The ML so far did live to what I'm expecting. I enjoy the the journey and excited for more. I recommend this novel to read. <<less

I felt I had to write a review and explain my assessment. The novel is written for five stars. However, it's just not my type. Wow. This was amazing. The slowest of slow burns but how delicious!!! (FYI they don’t kiss til like chapter 170ish)

This is definitely going into my all time favorites list. The story was great, the characters were great. I cried multiple times at the angst but don’t worry it’s a HE.

Very good. Very slow romance progress. The MC and ML properly meets around ch100 (yeah, half of the story). Both are very reasonable, logical, with critical thinking and crisis management. The weakness attached is very burdensome to the point I worried any of them would have to die once to be reincarnated and continue the story.

Very distressed family relationship spiritually and mentally. The mc's father is the biggest bad luck in her and her brother lives. He is so heartless and I wonder if the glory he wanted ever real.

Oh My God, I found this gem last week and cant stop reading it. A few years experience reading alot of cnovel, this one became one of the best book i've ever read online. The story was written so beautiful with well-fleshed out characters. The MC is such a strong and smart character despite her weak body, she plan carefully with the benefit of knowing the future (but this thing was not overly used like other transmigration book trope), it's just realistic enough for her conditon. And the male lead... more>> is just incredible with his complex character. Their love story is so slow, really really slow so if you like fluffy and light heart novel, this one is not for you... but their love story is so poignant and will make you root for them. I shed tears a few time for the female lead, thanks God this book have happy ending.

Only 1/3 of the book have been translated, so I finished this book using google translate lol. Gosh I will re-read it again when the translation is completed <<less

This female lead is my favorite heroine. She is gentle yet willing to take risks for her loved ones. She is not all powerful yet shows a levelheaded maturity when facing adversity that is very enjoyable. She knows she can't do much for others but that doesn't stop her from trying, yet she doesn't take foolish risks. I love her personality. So far the male lead has not appeared he has only been mentioned but I eagerly look forward to their relationship. The novel itself was particularly well made, albeit the translation also did the justice towards this gem! I love how the plot progresses each chapter plus its sad flashbacks. The romance hasn't introduced as of now but that what's it makes interesting! Since in the chapters it more on how our FL (Yaoying) would survive on the novel she have transmigrated into and avoid clashing with the crown prince. I also like the dynamic of yaoying and her brother, they both sacrificed/risk each other lives for them to survive to... more>> that s*um king and their 'fate'.

[/The Xie Family was the most pitiful and yet one of the highlights of this story. Their sacrifices to save and help people as well as no matter young the sons in Xie family they will go with their fathers in battlefield and help them fight in wars which is so sad at the same time a heroic thing for them to do. The s*um emperor (yaoying's father) have promised to take care of yaoying's mother but due to a scheming and certain individuals, the Xie family was pushed into brink and only yaoying and her brother survived. ]

You'll never get bored of this novel as every chapter is worth reading and every chapters evoke sympathy and admiration as a reader as Tiffany18 said. It's neither sad or exciting. The FL is one of my favorite since her intelligence makes me go 'wow' at her despite her weak constitution. I love how she thinks through and her love for her brother. <<less

First and foremost I want to give it up to the translator for such an awesome translation. Translation is clear and concise and easy to read. Thoroughly surprised at how much I enjoy this especially considering 50 plus chapters I don't think we've seen the male lead yet. The main female lead is strong (not a physical way) and smart. She is someone that I root for even when she's up against the odds. I'm excited to see where the story goes.

Incredibly disappointed.

Let me just straight up start the review so I don’t lose any more time on this novel.

Pros :

... more>> - The plot seems thick

- The translation is really good

- The characters all have their own thoughts and agenda (e.g: the strategist)

Cons :

- The writing style is a turn off:

The author launch herself/himself in endless descriptions and every side character’s life and thoughts are just dumped on us repeatedly. Sure it’s a good thing that side characters are developped. But when it’s done so early and in a so long-winded way, it’s just annoying.

Also, I don’t know about the author but I don't understand the appeal of a FL which people fawn over just because of her good looks.

- Every man and their fathers think MC is beautiful (AND THE AUTHOR NEEDS YOU TO REMEMBER THIS!!!)

The author can’t write a chapter without mentioning how beautiful our FL is. If it was only that at least it could have been bearable. But the fact that everyone reacts to her beauty like she's an angel is just too annoying (E.g : the scene in which young hedonistic men rush over just to glimpse at fl’s face ; or the scene in which her servant found her so beautiful, it rejuvaneted her desire to give it her all to protect her.).

Plus, the author is so focused on having other admire her beauty that her other good or bad aspects are overshadowed.

And I can feel the good political intrigue buried under all this mess. But this book just feels too shallow to me.

- This book is shallow:

While I read the book, I always had this underlying feeling of shallowness.

I feel like FL doesn’t really do anything. She can’t touch the original ML and his people, so she doesn't really do anything about them.

And while she could flee with her brother and mother and go for a better life elsewhere (and don’t tell she can’t because with her modern days knowledges, she can definetly) she doesn’t.

It’s like the author is trying to make us think she does everything she can, while in fact, she doesn’t do anything impacting.

I loved the story. I loved the characters, even the "villains". I couldn't completely hate them, the author was so good in fleshing out their characters that it was difficult not to sometimes empathise. The MC was beautiful inside out but she was by no means perfect. I liked how I was still able to relate to her. The ML was the gentlest person, a refreshing change from the usual cold, domineering MLs. The romance was a slow burn but quite worth the wait. What I enjoyed:

- Forget palace drama or surviving the harem, this badass MC uses her knowledge of the original plot to ensure that other people won’t die (at the cost of jeopardizing her own safety). What sets the FL apart from others in rebirth/transmigration novels is that she isn’t always thinking about how to protect herself— she is broader minded and selflessly uses her cheat to unite the lands, care for the common people, and try to create a better world.

- Even without the flowery words and exciting encounters, the... more>> ML and FL have what I would consider the most stable, reciprocated, and equal relationship in ancient times. There are no misunderstandings, only tacit understanding.

What I thought could be better:

- I notice this in many CNovels too, but the text can become quite redundant with reiterating a back story or events to the point where I was feeling “Okay I get it, this character was dealt some sh*t straws and suffered a lot”

- I know it’s a slow burn romance considering the storyline, MCs, and overall situation, but I really had to wait so long for

The summary really not doing justice to the novel. The novel was really in different light compared to the summary.

The perfect theme to this novel should be love. But not necessary only romantic love or love between man and woman. But also familial love, love (respect) between husband and wife, love (loyalitas) between master and subordinates, love between human and the creator (religion), love towards nature, just mention any kind of love there's almost anything in this novel. And this is truly great novel if you want to read about... more>> political novel and war.

And my favourite relationship (after the MC and the ML of course) actually was the relationship between the OGML, the crown prince Li Xuan Zhen and his wife, the crown princess Zheng Biyu. They didn't have any romantic love, but they have respect and trust toward each other, the kind of bonding that really precious that even in nowadays modern peaceful life was really rare. And tbh, rather than passionate romance, this kind of trust and respect really was the one that could bring any relationship last long. They even never ridiculed or mock one another, no matter how ridiculous their circumtances and the things that they've done

like, she was married to his previous enemy before, and abandoned her previous husband to marry him and even almost ran away with his lover at their wedding night. Or how he sent his (supposed) sister to a barbarian but later regret it and then trying hard to save her then realized he actually fell in love with that (supposed) sister.

The MC relationship really great and everything but I actually envy their relationship the most. Since, it's more realistic compared to the MC and the ML relationship. But, don't get me wrong, I keep screaming to my pillow everytime the MC and ML have any interaction. The slowburn really worth it!!! <<less
