Yaoying transmigrated into a novel.

In the chaotic and troubled times, many nations were at war. Her father happened to be the most powerful of those vying for supremacy, her brother turning out to be the male lead that finally dominated the Central Plains.

As the male lead’s younger sister, Yaoying was ready to accept this benefit that came without her having to lift a finger.

But it turned out that the male lead hated her to the bone, going as far as to have her marry the sixty-year-old grassland tribal chief in place of the female lead.

Yaoying was forced to marry. Wolves in front, tigers in the back—beasts surrounding her—all coveting the lovely-as-a-flower Chinese princess.

At the moment of crisis, the novel’s young and legendary lord who was destined to die young passed through with his troops.

To escape from their clutches, the trembling Yaoying pointed at the sickly lord: This princess fell in love with you at first sight. If you won’t marry, I’ll seek you out with a dowry!

The lord’s subordinates paled with alarm: Princess mustn’t speak so casually! Our king is a monk, a noble-blooded Buddha’s son!

Yaoying, with a face full of grievances: This princess doesn’t disdain that you’re a monk. In life, I am your person; in death, I am your ghost!

Monk: ….

From then on, the tale of the Buddha’s son and the Chinese princess began to circulate through the grasslands.

Monk whose reputation couldn’t be cleared even if he plunged into the Yellow River: ….

Note : The title refers to an expression that for friends, family, and lovers separated far away, moonlit nights would make them miss each other more.

Incredible tory! Has one of my favorite MCs ever. The characters are well written and so is the plot. Honestly, I’m not too sure/ don’t really care for the romance; just the plot and writing was enough for me to read the whole story. I hope someone will pick up the translation for the rest of the story as it seems to have been abandoned...

I love the FL she’s brave and was able to fight through all the intimidation from the men of power and rise despite being in a horrible position.

I love the ML as well. He’s responsible and bears all the hardships. He’s also one of the most pitiful MLs I’ve ever seen.

And, their love is just so sweet going through all the difficulties and their own identities. ❤️❤️❤️

I dropped this, but not because it is bad novel.

Spoiler

I really did like the female lead a lot, and I might still give it a try in the future. However, the reason why I dropped this is because I really liked the whole triangle sibling relation in the beginning of the novel so when the female lead left her home and the male lead started to appear, I lost interest because I really wanted the author to finish that part of the storyline. I might also not love a male lead who is a monk. I'm just not really used to it.

Finally!! I have a feeling the MC will

meet the ML soon. I’m anticipating the scene from the summary of her proposing to a monk: “In life, I am your person, in death, I am your ghost.”

Great translation and plot!!!

So, I am not good at writing reviews bit I will try. And sorry for the bad English in advance.

I realy like this novel. The Autor dosent let the MC do as she please, she has to follow the original story. If she try to change something she will be punish with pain. So the MC has to look of ways to make little changes without destroying the Storyline.

The family Drama Level is realy high. The father and eldes brother, the emporer and crown prince, are realy hatful. And... more>> the MC and her biological elder brother and the Mother are constantly supress by them and the MC and her brother can only relay on them self.

The female lead of the original Story is equal hateful. She schemes againts the whole family of the MC and the MC is the one who has to face the consequences.

To the ML I cant say anything because he hasnt show up yet.

And I would like to say that the translator does a awsome work. It is easy to read and understood.

Also, if you like transmigrating Storys and a lot of Drama, than this is your novle. <<less

.

Our FL tries her best to overcome every challenges and difficulty and pave the path for her family to stay alive.

Inspite of her health issue she tries to do her best to protect the female race as they were most vulnerable during the ancient times.

Lastly as other people have commented the novel is heavy I have almost cried in every chapter and can't wait for next update and I really love our translator Mich for translating such amazing novel.😘🔥 <<less

Aside from the stellar translation skills on display, so far this novel has been very well crafted. Our heroine is very intelligent, and it shows with how she deals with the way the world is intent on forcing the story to continue. However, the utter sincerity of her bond with her brother, and the lengths she’ll go for him even long after it’d have been better to cut him loose, is the true selling point so far.

Yaoying is so smart and calculating (not in a bad way). I love that she gives her all to protect her mother and her beloved brother. I'm so happy her brother finally got a way out, even though it was from his little sister's sacrifice. I'm sure he'll feel like his heart was ripped out of his chest once he hears what happened to her.

I guess in some ways you can say that their emperor father is a good emperor because he schemes for the country and not the individual. But, he's still a terrible man and father. I would never forgive him what he did to his little girl. SMH

I have been anxiously clicking on this novel every other day to see if there is an update. When I see an uodate I get so excited and cant wait to read it😆

I do really feel so sorry and my heart breaks for the main female lead. I despise her s*um emperor dad but I guess that is what makes her strength and wits/intelligence makes her my all time favorite female lead! She does evoke a sense of sympathy and admiration from me as a reader. Thank you so much... more>> translator for all your hard work 🥰 <<less

I miss this world, created with such profound characters. I shed tears for both protagonists. I endured this late romance because the setting and plot was so captivating and felt so real, I got immersed in it.

Before going in depth with my fascination with the main couple, I want to express my admiration for 2nd prince, Qin Wang, Li Zhongqian "HuNu".

His personality was fixed because of his desire to protect her little sister.

He did not drag her down. Without him, she would not be alive today. They are family and support each other.

Spoiler

What both brother and sister went through made me cry so much. He picked her up among many corpses when Li Yaoying was still a child who could not walk because of her sickly constitution. Yet he never gave up on her.

[collapse]

He was more like a father than Emperor Li De could have ever been. Thanks to this siscom brother, she developed a high self-esteem.

Spoiler

Li Zhongqian raised her, loved her, spoiled her and pitied her. How could she be so self-deprecating as to be attracted to a man who treated her as a plaything? She respected every sincerity, and would not belittle it even if she could not reciprocate. However, she could not bear the kind of love from Haidu A Ling.

[collapse]

There were other interesting side characters, but I let you all read this highly recommended novel to enjoy it for yourselves.

When talking about our female lead, I am all praises for her. Where to start?

She was an unloved daughter, but her self awareness and self worth was ever bright and made her so charming.

Spoiler

"Seeing the pursuers approaching, Li De decisively abandoned Yaoying, picked up his subordinates' two sons, and rode out of the encirclement."

[collapse]

Being a transmigrator, YaoYing had a whole perspective defying fate and getting backlash because of it.

Spoiler

She believed in the theory of fate - Li Xuanzhen and Zhu Luyun were always alive and kicking and could never die! And every time she changed the fate of her mother and brother, she would be punished.

But so what?

Faith is one thing, leaving everything to fate is another!

She has to grit her teeth and hold on.

[collapse]

Her late romance with TanMo LuJia was so endearing and pure. Both tried their best to help others without expecting anything from them just because they could help the poor, the displaced, the weak.

Spoiler

She would rather he had never fallen in love with her than to see him struggling between his beliefs and his selfish desires.

[collapse]

My heart breaks every time LuJia asks for punishment for defending his people to the best of his abilities. His self-sacrifice is so noble, he truly deserved better.

Spoiler

When the war is over, the world will be at peace, and all tribes will be able to live in peace. All the sins committed by his sword will be attributed to him alone.

[collapse]

His acknowledgment of his feelings towards YaoYing is so brave and heartbreaking.

Spoiler

He was worried about the future of the royal court and whether his subjects could live in peace and escape the suffering of troubled times. This time, he was worried about the safety of a woman.

Princess Wen Zhao was not one of his subjects.

Joy, anger, worry, thought, sadness, fear, and surprise.

The seven emotions and five desires are normal for human beings

[collapse]

His love was not secular in the beginning:

Princess Wen Zhao was a worldly woman who pursued worldly pleasures, while he was a practitioner who had converted to Buddhism and shouldered the responsibilities of the royal court. He could not give her anything she wanted.

In that case, why bother disturbing her life

But then, he realized:
Spoiler

His desire for Li Yaoying is not just for her company. He wants her to stay by his side forever. In her eyes and heart, there is only him. He wants to be close to her, touch her, and make her laugh.

[collapse]

LuJia falls more and more for her, giving in to her every time even though she never forced or asked him to.

Spoiler

He couldn't participate in her worldly life, so he could only use this method to let her see the singing and dancing she missed.

As long as she is happy.

[collapse]

This indirect farewell was so heartwrenching and mindnumbing that my tears were neverending.

Spoiler

When I die, don't enshrine me in a Buddhist temple, send me to her side.

During his lifetime, he could not fulfill his own selfish desires.

At least after death, let him be selfish for once.

[collapse]

LuoJia was such a responsible guy who never slacked off.

Spoiler

The world doubts me, hates me, the monks despise me, laugh at me, but to me, they are like passing clouds.

He remembered his belief, put an end to the war, ensured long-term peace and stability in the royal court, and put an end to the war.

[collapse]

Thanks to all that is holy, our princess, nicknamed MingYueNu, was smart enough to always come to his aid and supported him wholeheartedly. She truly understood him and made him feel so whole.

Spoiler

She came from afar, across thousands of mountains and rivers, and across towering hills and ridges, which caused ripples in his calm heart and made him greedy. Perhaps this was Buddha's training for him, and he failed Buddha's test. But he enjoyed it.

[collapse]

His Tao, his Mingyue Nu. All that he cares about is by his side.

I won't give more spoilers, I urge you to read it for all lovers of strong female leads who can turn the tables with a sharp and wize mind. Coupled with a Mary-sue-like fame, but she truly is charming, I loved her so much, too, while reading her life experiences and decisive comma ds and sincere heart. Impossible not to love her!

PS.: Main characters:

I have read countless novels. Although many characters inspired me there will always be some dissatisfaction with protagonist's somewhere. But not here. I didn't know how I missed this gem till now.

Both FL and ML are matured people. They aren't that perfect. FL was someone whom, even enemies will respect and admire. She doesn't get blinded by hatred like other novel protagonists. In every turn she will make decision by analysing overall situation. Ofcourse she was praised for her beauty in every chapter, but that's it. She fell into desperate situation bcz of her beauty. Yet she changed every situation with her wits and courage. She was completely self aware and never showedoff as arrogant or become depressed bcz of her stunning appearance.

You know, in most of the novels ML will be portrayed as depressed, blackened person, cold and domineering, for even insignificant reason. Sometimes it will be annoying as hell. But here ML was a good. He was kind and calm. Yes, he killed thousands and thousands of people and people feared him and called him raksha. But he never killed people indiscriminately, just because he was powerful. He firmly believed everyone was equal and against war and devoted to buddhism.

Spoiler

He was raised in locked room from the day he was born without seeing light. He witnessed his whole family being executed as kid. He was pressured everywhere and shouldered heavy responsibility as a king in young age. People worshipped him as buddha, soldiers regarded him as backbone. He was alone through his life. Yet he never wavered and worked only for peace of his people. He didn't allow others to exterminate his enemy clan's innocent children (who mu*dered his family) with vengeance.

[collapse]

Here both protagonists too rational. They were feared, respected, admired, and even trusted by their enemies at many points. They pardoned their enemies, always gave people another chance. They never used army soldiers for their personal family fight. They both just worked all for people and country, meanwhile in the process they both grow up.

I mentioned that I’m on 80th chapter because translation is divided to 2. And I can’t find where I can read the rest of it. Truly sad about it for the first time.

Amazing story with interesting plot. First chapters seemed a little thoughtless and cliche but then I realized it wasn’t the case. You will realize that all the things that happened had its own reasons and justification, characters were all well thought and life alike, and MC... oh... I like myself some strong female character 😊 physically weak but... more>> spiritually and mentally one of the most resilient person I have read about. She will make the best of every opportunity that she is presented to. And I like that she is not all Mary Sue type of character, because there are a lot of obstacles and things going wrong for her. The only OP thing is her beauty and author keeps repeating about it, but it’s more of a curse for her than a golden finger, at least in first half of the book. <<less
