This story was like a marketing class for me, providing a detailed explanation of business operations such as securing a location, negotiating contracts, attracting customers, bargaining system, snatching goods and managing inventory. Although she succeeds stumbling here and there, it was a bit overwhelming.

Prior to reading this, I had no knowledge of how both high-end and low-end shops function. Through this novel, I gained valuable insights.

Furthermore, it delves into the dynamics of human relationships and how people's behaviors can change when their paths diverge. For example FLs one of the... more>> friend, who changed her face to FL later.

Also, FLs close friend's brother, when he suspects FL as someone who uses his sister to advance her status. This demonstrates the significance of managing personal relationships without affecting business values.

It exposes the selfishness inherent in human nature. Both ML and FL are portrayed as mature individuals, so there was no misunderstanding of one another or dramatic conflicts.

The focus is more on FL's ambition to become a successful businesswoman rather than on romantic elements. She tries to slim down, so she can wear pretty dresses (she relates to me in this). Her handling of his instant son and daughter was also portrayed well. The fear of moving to new place with children, how she struggles with journey was a realistic one. <<less

Another slice of life story about a transmigrator with two instant kids who decided to live as a single mom and started her own business. The setting however was in the early '90s when China was moving on to the One Country, Two Systems policy after Hong Kong and Macao were handed over back to them. It's also the era when China decided to practice the China Western development. I somehow was more invested in the history of China rather than the plot itself.

It's fine.

The story so far is simply MC gets a divorce and opens a shop in another city with her kids. Each translated chapter is relatively short, so it's chapter 100 and she has still just launched her shop (~2 months after chapter 1).

The plot progression is very laid back, not like slice of life tho. Of course there are some drama to keep your interest, but it's just so so and not enough for me to binge read till the end. Also watch out for some outdated mindsets in... more>> here, even from MC.

Anyway, recommend for those looking for a light, "maturish" novel. <<less

Slow middle part, but pace became faster towards the end. Wouldn't mind more fleshed-out story about their kiddos.

And more detailed face-slapping on LJJ.

Whatever happens to the original plotline given that oFL won't even exist anymore 😅

Overall a bit long and looked slow at the beginning but then FL really picked up the pace.

Damn this was so good!! So well written and the translation was perfect too!! The characters grow and change so realistically. The romance is cute and never over the top. The drama is perfect and reasonable mostly. MC/ML were boring and realistic and I really liked that. Obviously the MCs career path being super smooth despite no experience didn't make sense. But we digress. So much better than what you usually get in these novels

It is one of the first Chinese stories I read some time ago. It is a very inspiring story mainly focused on how FL changes her life. The romance takes a backseat but it is very good, although it leaves you wanting more.

It's so satisfying. It wasn't like all the cliched transmigration stories, I feel like it really is very coherent and things were laid out and planned and hinted at in advance. The translation too is very good and although there is some odd word choice here and there, I found it to be far between and overall it was pretty good grammar.

This is the story for you if you'd like a smooth-sailing protagonist journey from rags to riches. There is minimal drama, lots of effortless face-slapping, and minor romance subplot. The babies in the story are not featured prominently and there isn't much child-rearing.

The FL is a calm, rational lady who works hard to earn money for a better life for herself and her two children. She's establishes herself well, and is very smart. She ventures into business and real estate. Along her journey she meets another calm, rational man who... more>> eventually pursues her and they get into a relationship.

Her two children are mature for their ages and occasionally pop up into the story.

Most of the drama comes from the FL's greedy family members who exploit the girls in the family to support the boys. There are also face-slapping of other greedy outsiders.

It is otherwise fairly boring to me. In fact, I gave it 4 stars for the efforts of the translators. I think Back to the 60s has a similar vibe but I prefer that story. Not entirely sure why, maybe because the babies were featured more there.

Still a good read if you're looking for a slice-of-life story of a strong single woman. <<less

I can understand why this novel got high rating. It was a satisfying read. There was not many faceslapping or revenge plot. The MC is very reasonable, so she focused on her career more. Much like every transmigator MC, her journey in making money is smooth. She met a lot of 'right people' in the right time. Luck is her forte and her 'future foresight' is really come in handy.

A very pleasant read. I wasn't stressed at all as I was reading this.

It's a perfect novel to just pass the time.

This is more of a childcare more than romance tbh but I didn't mind that. The childcare aspect is very realistic too as children from abusive household mature faster.

There is a sense of realism in this novel that I really love.

I would have liked to read more of JingJIng's love story more since she did experienced difficulties in her blood-father's side.

Tianbao's story is cool with me.

Xiao Bao is cute too wanting to be a star.

The dividing at the end of property was something... Clothing. Technology and then Security. Wow

This is the kind of slice of life story I love. It's a nice balance of drama, which can quickly get annoying if there's too many people needing to get their faces slapped. On the opposite end, if there's not enough, the plot just drags on and on.

I really liked the MC's character and how she realized her own faults. The romance was very realistic and so sweet.

A solid 4.7.

The focus on MC's love life was mild at best, so not really a romantic story.

One of the better slice of life of a book transmigrator I've read.

All characters come with their own depths of flavor and they don't blend in with each other.

MC's glow-up, growth, and character are pretty grounded, with none of the crazy spotlight tunnel vision focus (none of the: everybody notices her wherever she goes, yadayada).

Cannon fodders like her parents/family and ex-husband got away with a lot of crap numbering from ab*se to downright mu*der. mu*der is mostly based on novel, but the ex-husband was doing some extremely shady stuff in the current timeline as well.

It felt rushed, muddled, and mashed together.

Though I understand she's a single mother after the divorce, I felt like the author could've allocated more (bitter) sweet parent-child moments in between her career-building days.

But overall, very read-worthy, do not let the 400+ chapters scare you off, it's simply split up into multiple sections.

The MC is hard working & competent... She also does not have the dumb attitude which many shoujo characters have... The story itself was also pleasant, written really well and doesn't drag on!!!

Totally recommend (light read)

Nothing too depressing or sad in it 👍🏻

I read the untranslated parts of the novel via MTL & it was was pretty easy to understand

I like this story, I am a fast reader so I couldn't wait for translation and MTL it, but the translation is very good, so I still read it every time it's posted.

For the readers who are looking for slow process and slice of life story, it is a very good choice.

I really like the story, but I'm a bit disappointed that it finished so fast and it doesn't have a sequel.I really want to follow her children's future story so bad. Hope the author would wrote a sequel.

This was a really fun and relaxing novel to read. Its basically all about Shu Yan's journey after transmigrating into the cannon fodder ex wife to a rich miss. I liked reading about how she dealt with the old family, her business actions and overall her stride to making a comfortable life for herself.

The romance is quite cute but later in the story.

I recommend this if that sounds good!

The face slapping happened quick and then the MC moved on. That was something I haven't seen much in novels, so that was interesting.

... more>> This is a slow story. It you want romance, you are going to have to wait since there hasn't been a whiff of it yet.

There is child rearing, some friendships developing and a lot of business.

The MC doesn't fuss about, she is very straight forward.

The chapters have been broken up. Which I understand for translation purposes, length, etc. However, my pet peeve with this that alot of translators do, is they renumber the chapters. I wish the would do ch1 pt 1, pt 2, pt 3. Instead of ch1, ch2, ch3. A 200 chapter novel suddenly becomes 600. I am at ch211 and the is ch64 if you want to MTL it.

Once you get to the second translator, you will need to keep this page open and select each chapter individually because they do not have a next chapter button. Or I could just not have searched enough for it. Will have to check next time I come back after it's been updated. <<less

Slice of life to the max. Omg even the little lunch dispute at the kindergarten lasted a few chapters. This really drags on. It was promising at first when the MC was fighting with the ex husband but then after that, it all went down hill and nothing happens anymore to write home about. That is of course until chapter 96 where I’m at right now. But whatever gonna happen later won’t be very interesting or any I can already tell. What’s with the high ratings?
