Ugh, I really hated ML's family especially his father. I don't hate him for choosing another hostage instead of his own wife because I don't know the exact situation and everyone said that he made a right choice as a policeman. I hate him because he didn't try to comfort and apologize to ML properly after that and instead blamed him for unable to understand his decision. And WTH with marrying the other hostage. It's just like a cruel reminder to ML of the day of his mother's death. If you pitied her, just supported her life outside as a benefactor, why did you marry her instead?

And till the end, I didn't hear an ounce of a heartfelt apology from ML's father. Maybe he waited until he was in his deathbed like ML's grandfather?

I'm surprised that he still chose to be a policeman though. The job was too risky and he could lose his life anytime, like in his past life and also like MC's father. It's contradictory with MC's wish for him; to be safe and sound all his life. But I also understand that it was in his blood. He was belong to military lineage and he was good at it.
