One of the most beautiful stories with the cutest MC and ML. The trajectory of their relationship is lovely and both characters have strengths that are admirable. The MC is particularly adorable and the ML is a coconut who falls completely in love with the MC.

I really loved it. Its silly because I avoided reading it for a long time because I didn't know that "boss" meant "top juvenile delinquent" so I thought this was a reincarnated.. Work romance?? LOL Not at all! Its a school romance! Very cute! It really gave me Kimin Ni Tadoke vibes because of the heroine's very pure personality..

I liked that her first life was only shown in flashbacks. The story starts with her already in her second life.

I often was picturing what this novel would looks like as a... more>> cdrama. It had such picturesque moments that I felt like I was watching the story at times! Truly quite well written! Thank you!

There is something not quite right at the end that I'd like to complain about.

There is an assault that happens to the heroine and the story moves on like it doesn't matter. There are health effects but the psychological aspect of something like that is completely ignored for some reason. This is very strange because this story actually has a lot of talk of ptsd and psychology, there is even a friend therapist character, but at this important moment, for some reason, the trauma aspects of s*xual and physical assault are ignored. Something like that happening will leave a lot of scars so it didn't makes sense to me why it was ignored.

Personal Enjoyment: 4.2/5

I enjoyed my time here. I thought the MC would be an oblivious idiotic airhead from ancient times in the modern world from what the synopsis implied but she actually isn't. She has all the memories of the body so she is pretty realistic. I was also surprised by the ML. I thought he would be a broody bad boy but he's a refreshingly loud and honest gangster teenager haha. He's always so honest about being a teenage boy embarrassed hahaha. The whole thing felt... more>> quite smooth, not much dips. Very sweet.

Plot: 4/5

It's more character and romance-focused. The plot was basically the high school slice of life and romancing of the main couple. Up to university in the last like 10-20 chapters. I do wish we had more of the side characters part of the story though. Seemed like a missed opportunity to make this not just a pure romance story but an overall wholesome and all-around amazing book. I feel like we should have dived and explored the father and the woman a bit more though. Get some more definitive conclusion from that side in the end.

Writing/Translation: 3.9/5

The translation I read is mostly from Midnight Rambles. Almost all the sentences I understood. The other translations were definitely very edited MTL. Missing words, weird sentences and all. Better than MTL but 85% readable. MR is only a bit better though, like 90-95% readable. Some errors here and there like a few pronoun errors or sentences that feel a bit too direct translated to understand smoothly.

Pacing: 4.5/5

Pretty smooth most of the time. I didn't feel anything was draggy except for a few little bits like after some scenes.

Setting/Worldbuilding: 4/5

It is a typical modern high school type of setting in some fictional China city. They didn't really show much variety other than the school or homes or normal cafes either. But it serves its purpose for the character-driven/romance story so it's fine. Ideally, I would want more detail for the surroundings though.

Characters: 4.4/5

MC is a shy, quiet and at first glance meek weak woman type of FL but is surprisingly a wonderful execution of this character type! It's super rare that I would actually like and root for this type of FL. She's "weak" and a damsel in distress type of person but she still is a human being and can show a temper haha.

And the ML is so much fun. And all the humour is actually from him reacting to the MC in funny and blunt ways. I kept laughing or smiling at him lol.

And the side characters are so much fun! None of them felt like npcs. They all feel real and relatable. So varied and full of personalities. It is just such a missed opportunity that the author didn't include side plotlines with them in much detail. I have read other high school second-chance romances with the ML and his friends being a group of delinquents but a large focus is on them pulling up the bad boys from the bottom of the grade. It was pretty wholesome, full of friendship and satisfying. And this story had them, but so briefly! It was mostly a side effect of the romance. This area could have thrived with some focus as the author did for the romance. Even with the sister and psychologist. I also would like some elaboration on their relationship. And the ML's family too.

Romance: 4.8/5

The romance is wonderful haha. A wonderfully healthy and sweet relationship. No misunderstandings. Kinda funny. Cute.

I love the dynamic of our 2 MCs. It's a great read to pass time because it doesn't have that heavy theme and conspiration thingy dadada...

But I just read until the extra chap where their son hot 3rd place in rubic competition, after that I don't read other extra chaps because its AUs.

Overall it's a nice read, thanks for the translator for the good job👍🏻

This is one of my favorite novels. I absolutely love the female lead, who is cute and innocent, as well as the male lead, who isn't perfect but is still better, even though he bullies others (not the female lead).

This novel must be read if you want to lighten your heart. This is my second time reading it, and I still enjoy it.

I totally recommend reading it.

This story is really really sweet.. So sweet that I had toothache..

It's not really a transmigration but a rebirth novel. But whatever I loved it so much..

It's a story about a very rebellious ML falling in love with the cutest and the loveliest FL who was already in love with him from her previous life.. They healed each other of their own tragic pasts and promised a forever.

"When the class bell rang, she waved to him, turned and ran towards the classroom. Her soft ponytail swayed gently behind her, with the light shining into the corridor, that bright and charming back seemed to have become his whole youth."

The story was fluffy and light, easy to read. I also agreed with other reviewers that I like the MC's character. Naive, kind but not s*upid. ML is also not overpowered, and cold all the time (he was a cutie toward MC later).

omg this book will give you an overdose of sweetness!! I adore this shitt... it is sooo touching like the book really make you question about fate and destiny. Both ML & FL went through tough time and to see how it is link to their past life and how they overcome it tgt is just so WHOLESOME. 9/10 :3

I'm still halfway through and this is sort of an incomplete review, but aaaah I'm already so inlove with QiYing and JiRang. I love characters with flaws but still manage to be strong inside, who don't act deliberately flirtatious, and of course, what's there to hate in a rebirth? The author has a way with words, and I find myself laughing though not as hard as when I read SongYu-XieSui's story. But hey, the thrill of first love coming from JR is through the roof aaaah in this regard, I... more>> must say JR's inner thoughts are enough to give goosebumps. Ok. That's it for now. Will edit this review once completed. Good job, translators, thankyou so much....

And now I'm done. I really must say, out of all the male leads i've read so far, in every genre, I love Ji Rang the most. Since I already have a hubby, I hope I can get a Ji Rang in my next life lol <<less

oh my god! Why so fluffy!!!!!! Somehow I think Ji Rang personality is quite similar with the ML in I Just Want to Freeload on Your Luck. Domineering yet spoiled our FL to much!

i like how both ML and FL tries to heal and help each other, and basically they are together from the very beginning hahah. I really like how they interact knowing that they will be together and no one can come in between

I actually enjoyed this one.

I read this expecting a typical transmigration novel in which for some reason every female characters would hate the main character for the male lead and blahblah, and you know what, there are moments like that but it's not a 'usual thing' in this story. Heck I don't even see the girl that I thought would be the female antagonist a.k.a Xue Manqing. There are drama moments but honestly, it focuses more on FL and ML and I really love that.

The dramas are all from other... more>> characters and not so much with our dear main couple since they're just so open with their feelings to one another which I really like. In short, there's not much misunderstanding with our main couple which is really nice for once. Most of the time, like maybe 80 to 90% of the story focuses on the fluff between them aaAA <3

It's not the best romance novel that I've read, but definitely one of the fluffiest. It's one of those few romance stories that doesn't rely on misunderstandings to improve and build their relationship. <<less

This is full of fluffff!!!! I love it so much!

Characters:

  • MC - Qi Ying is described as pure, cute, and fragile girl. At first I thought she is a white lotus. Because of her description, I thought she'll be a push-over who can't reject someone. I thought she'll be the blushy type. I thought she'll be the dense type who doesn't realize ML's feelings (especially because she doesn't know if the General likes her). But dang, my girl is actually the best. She is the active one in their relationship. She does not hesitate being affectionate towards ML. She even tries to protect him in her own way. Lastly, she knows how to reject and confront guys trying to hit on her.
  • ML - Ji Rang is a bad boy and school bully. I thought it'll be like the typicall wattpad plot where the bad boy bullies the FL but ended up falling for her. But thank god, it was far from that! The first time he met Qi Ying, he was all like "Dang it, imma die of her cuteness". He is a tsundere but he perfectly knows how he feels, unlike some indenial badboy ML. He is softer than he look! He always teases Qi Ying but ended up the one getting shy because of her straightforwardness. He also likes complimenting Qi Ying as "cute" and "baby" in his thoughts. He is a simp! Lastly, he isn't OP. He actually needed to work hard to study.
  • Side characters - all of them are admirable! Ji Rang's friends are funny af. Qi Yings bff is also cute and funny, I love her. Qi Ying has an incredible family, for once it didn't go for "abusive adobtive family" trope. Even Ji Rang's family is not thay bad, they just lack in communication. His stepmom os actually good. It's just that, they don't know how to approach Ji Rang.
Plot:

  • Romance - so fluffy and heartwarming. It's about how love can be a motivation to change your outlook in life. It's about healing.
  • Twist - the truth about her isekai was predictable but nonetheless, I love it that it went to a reincarnation trope.

I always laugh because of the JR friends.. Their remarks are really funny.. So fluffy. Sometimes you need stories like this as a break from typical dog blood cnovels you've just read

I love it so much, it's so sweet. My heart. The FL is wonderful and sweet, and the progress and growth you see from the ML is wonderful. I'm so happy, the pacing is good and the ending is just so perfect. This novel is very good for the heart and soul, very soothing. I like how the FL isn't forcing him to change or anything but more so he himself becomes motivated to do things so he can be with her in the long run, his core character remains... more>> the same, instead of becoming someone different to show character development.

I teared up throughout the journey and loved every single bit of it. I'm happy for them.

Thank you very much translator and author!! For this sweet 10000/10 novel!

I also LOVED how some ships or relationships weren't forced to be made into a reality like Yu Zhuo and Ji Qian or Yue Li and Shen Yue, it was cute or funny sometimes but just cause there are moments there doesn't mean they have to end up together. Especially considering the age gap.

Overall this story is ok. Pace is slow and drag a bit but the plot and backstory is good. I just feel that the last 2 extras towards the end is a bit too much. Prolly because im ald drunk w the sweetness.. Cant take anymore😂

Prepare your heart! The romance is so damn fluffy and cute and sweet. Sickly sweet in fact. The couple heal each other and thats what I love most. You'll be green with envy and would want one too😁

but AU side stories that have nothing to do with the storyline just aren't my thing. I also don't understand why the author would make Ji Rang not have any noticeable feelings of love for his son. With the amount of crap he went through as a child, shouldn't he know how NOT to treat his child? What's up with the petty jealousy against his own child? Sooooooo tired of this trope in CN novels!
