When I opened my eyes, I was inside a novel.

[The Birth of a Hero].

[The Birth of a Hero] was a novel focused on the adventures of the main character, Choi Han, a high school boy who was transported to a different dimension from Earth, along with the birth of the numerous heroes of the continent.

I became a part of that novel as the tr*sh of the Count’s family, the family that oversaw the territory where the first village that Choi Han visits is located.

The problem is that Choi Han becomes twisted after that village, and everyone in it, is destroyed by assassins.

The bigger problem is the fact that this s*upid tr*sh who I’ve become doesn’t know about what happened in the village and messes with Choi Han, only to get beaten to a pulp.

“…This is going to be a headache.”

I feel like something serious has happened to me.

But it was worth trying to make this my new life.

I stumbled upon the manhwa and I was honestly not that much entertained by it. Now, now, who would've thought that I'll be one of those people who'll root for Cale to attain his slacker life. I love this novel as much as I love ORV. And just like ORV, this novel holds a special place in my heart.

All the characters are well-written, the plot is well-executed. The only issue it seems repetitive at some points and does contain some filler chapters.

Dont hesitate to read this masterpiece, you will not regret it. It has a manhwa already try reading that too. I dont have anything to write a review here anymore because other people already said it in their reviews so I will only leave this comment here.....

Okay, I loose interest in books so easily that just the fact that I actually read 700 freaking chapters is surprising to me as well. The MC was the only reason I read this at first because it seemed like your usual transmigration novel but god when the plot is revealed it is mind blowing.

Definitely one of my favourites, the earlier chapters and the fight scenes are so fun to re read and I’ve formed an unhealthy attraction to many thousand year old dragons ^^

I was happy to find a shounen type novel with no harem (although they can all technically be his harem lmao). Cale is your typical overpowered protagonist, except they show him becoming stronger so he is a lot more likeable than an OP from the beginning. He is interesting to read also, and I liked all the dynamics in this novel. The worldbuilding is also fun to read, which it has to be since it is a very long novel.

However, there is NO ROMANCE. Like, at all. Plus, Cale, despite... more>> observing people around him changing, still believes in the novel's characterization of them, like most MCs, mistrusting of most people till the very end. Perhaps that will change later on. I would like it if he develops bonds with people other than his pets. The no romance part really kills it for me, but I have high hopes on the fanfictions for this novel. There is no romance with MC or ANYONE in the novel as of now. Pretty unrealistic for novels, but okay. Let's see how it goes. <<less

  1. First of all, I really really like this story.
  2. Sure, this story build up really fast so for those who want slow world building, this may not be it for u. Just before 100 chapter, about three to four major event has already happen so you can guess how fast this story progress.
  3. And yes this story has a lot of repetiveness but after you get past of it, you will be interested in the mysteries. Just try and read it until 150-ish chapter. Trust me you will really like it after that as this progress really quick after that.
  4. This is so dry.I really dont know how to write a review😂 but I absolutely really really recommend you to try and read this story.

I just want to say that I do not agree with what Primeval Cha said in his review that the MC contradicts himself, saying that the MC wants to slack but does the opposite. No.

Just no.

(Kinda spoiler but whatever)

The MC does/did those things for the world, where he's gonna live his slacker life, because if he does nothing, the world would be in CHAOS (Remember, there is WAR between the kingdoms, where kingdoms are trying to conquer other kingdoms, and there's White Star, trying to conquer the world).... more>> And if the world is in chaos, he will NOT be able to live a slacker life. So, the MC does/did those things for him to have a slacker life in PEACE in the future. Thank you. <<less

I freaking love this novel. It has one of my favourite collection of characters. Cale is a lovely balance of extremely smart and s*upid. All the children are cinnamon roles. All the people around Cale actually have character development to various extents. There is no romance thus far and no harems. I love that they didnt try to make every female Cale encountered fall in love with him, even though he did this and that for them. The story is beautifully fleshed out, there is alot of unexpected depth and... more>> it doesn't just simply fall into the 'transmigrator who knows what will happen' category. This is one of the few LN I am highly invested in, having binge read over 100 chapters in a day so it is definitely worth the read. I finished the manwha first then jumped to the LN cuz I have no patience, and the manwha gives a great portrayal of the characters, such that you have an idea what they look like when you read <<less

English not my first language so it is hard to me to Express myself how I loove love this story. Already reread for nth time (lost count).

Just please try to read it. Its fun!

We have big family here, we have granpas, kittens, young dragon, kind wolves, and many other things. The development is good. For me the best character development is the young dragon, Raon.

Will add some more notes/reviews someday.

I like this very much! The more you read, the more mysterious the story and keep you curious about whats next. The beginning of the chapter MC will always tell you about the original story, but the MC didn't read all of the original story book. So after the timeline where the last he read came, it will become more mysterious, because MC has to make decision base on information he has alone than the books, and the mystery will come one by one and makes you nervous and curious... more>> about what comes next.

It's a mind-blowing novel. This novel will never let your interest to die down. Though there maybe some parts which you would find to be annoying but overall, it is a great novel. It takes you through lot of emotions like sad, funny, heroic, cuteness, hot-bloodedness and various others but one thing is for sure that it's a fun read. So do give it a try.

My rating should be 3/5 because of plotholes and repetitiveness but I decided to make it 5/5.

1) MC - the MC is a male and not a typical hero with harems and op, a MC with op power and want to change life, and etc. Usually most MC reincarnated in noble people are FL. It's rare to see a ML as noble not a hero or born with common people have special power or etc. He is manipulative but not a jerk type he only want to have a peaceful... more>> life and slack but what he did only make it bigger which is funny and I love his interaction with Prince Alberu. He could be called as pushover, an a$$hole or etc but at least he's not too much like the character in the so called "Father of Isekai". His perspective to the novel where he is is very nice love how there is no black and white he is morally gray person. Love he is scamming people and at the same time he scammed himself. 2). Plot - the plot is kind of boring and repetitive but I know the author want to be creative and original but I wish they make a decent transition for the story so it will have good flow and cohesiveness. But it's good even though there are plot holes.

3) Characters - the characters are good but I like Prince Alberu and Raon the most. No calculative stepmom and half blood related siblings for MC because I don't want to read fighting over the position of head family anymore well except for Taylor and his crazy cold blooded Marquis family or Prince's family. They have small character development like Toonka, Taylor, Choi Han, Raon, and so on. Some characters are dull. The girl characters here are strong which is good because I don't like annoying ones (I think the author avoid making one or a girl with mary sue

or whatsover). Also their dialogue are very lacking because we don't their expression or emotions very well it making the story boring for everyone to read so I imagine what's their expression whenever they talk ಥ‿ಥ. The characters lack of more feelings in my own opinion.

This story cannot be said it's the best or masterpiece for me it's good with better MC. What's important is you enjoy the story and I enjoy reading it so I rate it 5/5.

This novel is the best, its a hidden gem that I found😍

One of my top favorite novel I have read so far.

The story is not boring, its full of adventures, actions, comedy and also sometimes make you cry, its like a roller coaster ride, you can easily remember all the characters and Im sure you will love them all, the MC is not OP but very manipulative, I really love the MC, cale-nim😍

The novel is still ongoing and I still didn't read the remaining chapters because I dont want to end it yet, weird but I want more.

I recommend this novel, the best di kayo magsisisi.😍😍😍

Every time this novel almost loses me, it introduces a great new element to keep it engaging for the next 20 chapters. It’s a bit contrived in the beginning, but once he stops relying on the original novels information it really picks up the pace. It’s been doing a great job at keeping the momentum going so far, and I’m excited to see how it will continue.

I just had to write a review for this. Generally I dislike a story for not having romance/romantic subplot however this is such a good story you don't even need it. The writing of the author is honestly godly with how everything is like a piece of a puzzle. The character's have personalities that are likable and fleshed out which generally you don't see. The MC isnt some almighty God which doesn't think, he is cunning and strategic and very likable. It's a decent novel with the earlier arcs being much more enjoyable. For me at least it's made better by the animals. After a few hundred chapters, it can become exhausting to read as many of the encounters become similar and the misunderstanding schtick becomes a bit tired and overused. I do recommend it, just not as staunchly as some of the other commenters: that is, don't expect too much, don't read too much, and you'll enjoy it.

Cale's [Kim Rok Soo's] best friend from his previous life is related to Choi Han. Yes, Choi Han is also a transmigrator from the same world as Kim Rok Soo. I suppose isn't too strange that there'd be two transmigrators and that those two transmigrators would be from the same world. It does start to become a bit absurd when the fact is Choi Han is a character in a novel written by his uncle in a world that he and Kim Rok Soo transmigrated from. Also, that world has monsters, which as someone else mentioned sort of comes out of the blue and, I guess, used as a way to show why Kim Rok Soo is so easily adaptable as Cale.

An amazing plot of twist and turn. The author really balance the story for not favoring the MC too much. Haha. It frustrating but thats what makes me hooked on this. So many battles and wars happened that makes you think whats the catch after this. What will be uncovered after. So much mysteries being unfold every chapter where you did not expect it!
