When I opened my eyes, I was inside a novel.

[The Birth of a Hero].

[The Birth of a Hero] was a novel focused on the adventures of the main character, Choi Han, a high school boy who was transported to a different dimension from Earth, along with the birth of the numerous heroes of the continent.

I became a part of that novel as the tr*sh of the Count’s family, the family that oversaw the territory where the first village that Choi Han visits is located.

The problem is that Choi Han becomes twisted after that village, and everyone in it, is destroyed by assassins.

The bigger problem is the fact that this s*upid tr*sh who I’ve become doesn’t know about what happened in the village and messes with Choi Han, only to get beaten to a pulp.

“…This is going to be a headache.”

I feel like something serious has happened to me.

But it was worth trying to make this my new life.

Way overrated. 4.5 stars... not a chance. It has a great story, or at least it would if it wasn't crappy tropes and terrible characters. Even the hero who is always around, gets downgraded to a 2d side character after a while. The main plot thread hasn't even started to be resolved after 100+ chapters. The MC collects lackeys at a prodigal rate then they are reduced to henchmen with no lines or comments after their introduction... complete flat line. But, it isn't like it is action packed either... I... more>> thought it was good at the start, but after the novelty wore off... it is meh. Might pick it up again next time I find myself watching grass grow... but I would rather do almost anything else. <<less

Damn it! I really like this story! I swear! This is crazy!

This is the best Novel in my whole life reading thousands of Novels!

This novel is so unusual that it feels realistic!! I really like how the writer put the MC like that!

... more>> I also really like the developments in every chapter that I read so I will continue to be curious to the point that I don't even realize how immersed I am in the story.

I really admire how the writer made this story full of emotion! Sad, happy, whatever it is. This story is packed very, very well! Especially during sad scenes, it gets to readers like me to the point where my eyes swell from it.

I also like how this story is very detailed until I understand where the story is going.

I really like MC Cale, he is my version of Ideal MC, because well even though full of misunderstandings (btw I really like that actually) He is also very smart, cunning, and not like other naive novel MCs.

The friendship here is also very deep and how the writer conveys implicit information that will be useful in the next chapter is extraordinary!

I've read all the chapters! But I always feel less! That's why I keep re-reading this novel!! Thanks to the author who has made this extraordinary novel!!

I really like it because along the way this novel has no romance!t That makes this novel even more amazing!!

And the only novel I have read to the end and keep repeating it!

Damn it?! I am so addicted to this story!! <<less

It’s so funny reading the reviews. Tbh I only like the novel cause it lead the manhwa, not to critique the novel too much as it is pretty good I just can’t handle how long it is. The manhwa is getting through the storyline faster even if it is missing a few bits and I guess I’m just enjoying the pace of that more. But the novel is definitely really good and if I didn’t have the attention span of a squirrel I could probably binge read it better.

this novel is not for the weak, but you will not regret it if you like a character similar to omniscient reader’s viewpoint. Or a MC who is oblivious to the good of their actions and can’t simply imagine anyone but themselves to be put in danger. This MC will make you to hide your face and kick your feet in the air with rejuvenated feeling of endorphins. This is a good book that you should read and persevere to the ending.

It was good but I can't see how the other describe it as the best.

The MC is smart. Yes but that's also make it boring. Most Scheme I see is politics and I'm not a fan of politics after all maybe that's why. I would prefer it if the villain is some kind of God of schemes that makes MC loses in some way. Although MC seem to lose some, its not much. No one really dies in his team, maybe later but... Anyway, I also kinda don't like the... more>> MC. I don't like those MC that wants peace or wants to be lazy but ends up working hardest of all. Some scene is interesting like when he jumps and rain red lightning (I hope this won't be considered a spoiler) I kinda like to show off because MC these days like to hide lol. They don't get recognize on what they done resulting other people to underestimate them. <<less

Okay, I'm still in chapter 70 so I can't judge overall the plot. Actually, I'm questioning what's the main plot of this novel? Like the MC has no goal or something, just want to survive free lazily in his castle or something? I get it why he wanted to collect all of those powers to protect himself and sure why not he used his knowledge to take advantages of that, but you know I got this iffy feeling. He's too calm. For someone who just got transmigrated from modern era.... more>> I don't even know who he is as kim what I forgot before transmigrating. Why he's so like used to all of this and trying to solve all the problem like a piece of cake because of that small novel that he read? Hell, I'm not even remembering every plot detail novel that I read. Okay, sure he's a super fan I guess, but if he likes the novel so much. Why he's so indifference to the world? I mean you get a little excitement or scared or whatever emotion you transmigrated into. But, this guy is so calm and logic, making me wondering why on earth he could act like that?

I read a lot of slice of life, long novels, but this is the first time I felt bored. And I'm not even in chapter 100. I can't help it, because all of these side characters worshipping him like an idol, just because he got ancient power and protect them once. I don't know, like it's weird. They almost like devoted to this MC.

I'm sorry but for now, I'm still going to keep reading it until something happened. <<less

Good plot and appropriately fleshed out characters.

I really want to read this until the end but I just keep dropping it cause the storytelling is not my style and the redundant words is gonna make me cry soon. I don't know how much I could take reading the word 'flinch'. I'm not sure about the original word used but this just makes me feel like I'm reading a bunch of overcaffeinated/traumatised individuals.

But Cale already grew on me so I kept coming back to this lol. I wonder how much longer... more>> this adventure would be though since we just got the end of Season/Book 1 this year. Gahd. <<less

Damnnn~ so many emotions whenever I read this novel!

The unique plot, the characters and their own stories and gradual growth and progress of everything here, the ups and downs, and the overall feel of the story are just highly top for me.

From the start, it left me immediately hooked with constant anticipation. I could keep on reading this for days with minimal breaks until I stopped in the middle- I felt the plot was slightly repititive here. But then when I got back to it months later (was also saving... more>> up new chapters that thankfully are gradually being uploaded), now I'm back and hooked again!

Totally recommended for anyone looking for a new pace, new plot, unique kind of multi-genre novel without romance, and just a whole lot of fun adventure
Spoiler

with a guy who's "noble" dream of being a slacker kept getting hindered by his strong sense of "hero" responsibilities that kept binding him since the beginning and probably until the end of this story😂

I really love reading this novel! This is more slow paced than some others I've read. You'll probably have to read around 500 chapters to find out more about the MC and his backstory and what happened for him to transmigrate (stuff about Kim Rok Soo and the original Cale appeared around that much chapters, I think). But before that, we'll see how the MC adapts to his life as the "tr*sh" of the Count's family.

From the start, Cale has never intended to follow the plot of the novel he... more>> read so don't expect that. I personally like how Cale/Rok Soo's personality is. How he wants to live a lazy life but only after the chaos has gone by.

Also, the novel MC read and the actual plot of this novel are actually different. So even though there are some parts that the MC knows about during the first parts of the novel, he will eventually reach the point where he "stopped reading" and he will not have much information about what happens next. There are actually a lot of hidden plot/characters that the MC hasn't read about and will only discover once he goes through the journey himself.

MC isn't necessarily OP in my opinion. At the very least, he doesn't start OP even with the knowledge from the novel he read. He will get pretty OP as the story progresses though.

There's no romance and as of now I have no idea if there will be any at all. There doesn't seem to be any romantic partner candidates and I see more platonic feelings between MC and the character around him so maybe there just isn't any romance for the MC?

MC is a father figure to three kids. I love the scenes with the dragon and the kittens. I always feel good when I read them. They're so cute!!

The MC's relationship with his family isn't all that bad too. Personally, I'm sick of stories where the protagonist ends up with a sh*tty family for some sh*tty reason. Here, even though MC isn't super close with his family, you can see that their relationship isn't all that bad either. I think their relationship will be better as more time passes.

MC's backstory both as Kim Rok Soo and as Cale Henituse seems to be important later on. We'll get to see explanations about his past, how he got there, and why he was so calm when he first opened his eyes in Cale's body. We'll also see why the original Cale acted like tr*sh and what happened to him. I don't want to spoil much so I'll just say that it seems that the plot will get a little more complex and have themes related to other dimensions/parallel universes.

I like the plot a lot. I want to learn more about what's next. There are still a lot of things left unanswered and the MC's battle with the antagonist is not yet over. Plus there seems to be more upcoming problems for the MC. I can't really guess how far the story is right now to the ending but I think we're only halfway there so there could still be a lot of things that could happen. The character development is definitely there. You can tell just how the characters have changed from the first part to the part where I am now (chapter 711). I would like to see just how they would continue to change as the story progresses. The side characters all have their own backstories and unique personalities (some are definitely more unique than others lol). I find their interactions with the MC interesting.

I personally think that this is a good read. <<less

10/10 recommend!

This is a perfect shounen novel for fast readers cuz there is a ton of chapters and moments that literally made me weep!

However, don't expect romance between characters, bc unfortunately won't be any of any kind.

I'm so hard in love with this story.

I just love everything, but most likely the father-son relationship between Raon and Cale. Well, I have no words. Every chapter just makes me speechless (and simp) :,)

I’m reading and eagerly waiting for updates.

This is a whirlwind of emotions which makes your blood boil. It may/ may not make you take some actions in real life too when you are reading.

I for one have laughed like crazy, cried with my throat feeling tight, felt like they’re so cool whenever they did something amazing with my heart feeling like it’s full and about to burst. I gradually got to understand our mysterious and misleading tr*sh of Counts family.

Haaah... it also makes me sigh thinking everyone has their own... more>> level of craziness. They make me want to believe in making the impossible possible in the most notorious ways.

I feel proud of the way each of them develops and matures in their own way. <<less

If you want a story with a compelling story line, great characters, and a found family relationship like no other—your search is over.

Our story begins with our MC and his goal of being a slacker and act like tr*sh. It starts off with your standard isekai flair about a man from Korea transmigrating into a novel they've read and they now have to survive. Our MC Cale on the other hand goes way more further than just surviving, often finding himself in the middle of all the drama despite his... more>> intentions to stay away from it.

The story develops in ways that you do not expect, with secrets that only enrich the world and explain several of the mysteries not explained in the books our MC has read.

tr*sh of the Count's family is an amazing read. Filled with action induced plots with a smart MC, who isn't strong in his own, but becomes powerful with the help of his friends and allies. <<less

My impression on this novel :

The upside, the author had a story to tell. A progressing plot, compelling world building, and pretty good schemes. The downside, it felt like the work of someone who didn't bother to check his/her own work. There are many inconsistent details in the story, countless repetitive explanations (like what everybody said), and some lines are just confusing (e.g. He knew that Cale would have underestimated Arm's mage after his unintentional misinformation.... If he "knew", it's intentional). Unlike Amateur Writers on Japan's Syosetu, Korean Novels are... more>> released under a publisher, hence they usually have better quality. I don't understand how a publisher could publish something like this. I'm not saying the novel doesn't deserve to be published, but can't they hire an editor?

The translator team did a good job though, I enjoyed those side notes from the TL/PR.

TLDR, decent story, poor writing. <<less

Got interested in the synopsis, plot, and theme.

Looking for a decent isekai to binge read and waste your time? Well, in all honesty, you're better off finding something else unless you actually have dispensable time to read this filler garbage-ridden story. The plot itself is consistent on the quality of writing, but much so that the character barely develops at all.

Enter tr*sh of the Count's Family, Cale Henituse, our protag who was transmigrated to the world of [The Birth of the Hero] novel. He goes on to cause mayhem and... more>> shift the tides of the plot of the original novel, determined by his own desire to survive in the landscape he was transmigrated to.

The writing itself is staggeringly mediocre, though ironic because the world itself is quite colorful and well written over the different types of races throughout the storyline, though it falls flat due to the fact that any other form of perspective besides the main character does not exist.

The dialogue revolves around the MC almost counterintuitively, the only time we actually get some information fresh off the story is when they are determining what will be the next plotline to delve into. Knowing that the world-building is interesting and what kept my interest up to c152, I just found it painful to continue reading the bountiful amounts of wish-fulfilling prose between each character, specifically to our MC, Cale Henituse.

Though the wish-fulfillment did not make me give up instantaneously, but the fact that it kept on being the focal point of each arc, got redundant and easily became stagnant in the storytelling aspect of this webnovel. Truth is that I consume wish-fulfilling novels such as this, but at least have some tact and stay focused on the plot. So little conflict that could make anything suspenseful, mainly because the main character has too much plot armor. There should be a balance in writing these kinds of stories. There were fun aspects as well, though the mediocre writing got too much on my nerves to actually feel thankful about it. <<less

At first I wrote a really long review but I realized that it's useless. TCF is my favorite novel because the plot is great. Everything that happened/ every information we get in the story has an impact in the future and is relevant even hundreds of chapters later. All the characters are likeable and all the villains are good characters too. The MC is great my favorite MC probably. He is smart and clever, reading his scheme is so interesting because the author doesn't always explain what he did so... more>> we discover it gradually. At first, the MC knows everything that is going to happen in the story since he read the novel and for some, that may be boring. I personally didn't find it boring because seeing how the MC will use that information is for me the best part when reading this type of story. I forgot to mention, there is no romance. <<less

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. There's a (sort of) subtle but very important found family in this story. I love how the author connects everything. The Gods and Kim Rok Soo's past world, the characters and past relationships whether good or bad, and how strong characters still receive damage whether physically, mentally, or emotionally. There will always be a consequence when using a strong ability. It's hard to find isekai stories like this with no love interest, no harem, and no overly OP character. The character interactions (especially with Alberu... more>> and Cale) are funny and some can make you cry. The Gods in this story are absolute crap and Cale (MC) does not hesitate to smack them in the back. I truly recommend this to anyone and everyone who wants to get away with rinse and repeat isekai stories. <<less
