T*ash of the Count’s Family

Description

When I opened my eyes, I was inside a novel.

[The Birth of a Hero].

[The Birth of a Hero] was a novel focused on the adventures of the main character, Choi Han, a high school boy who was transported to a different dimension from Earth, along with the birth of the numerous heroes of the continent.

I became a part of that novel as the tr*sh of the Count’s family, the family that oversaw the territory where the first village that Choi Han visits is located.

The problem is that Choi Han becomes twisted after that village, and everyone in it, is destroyed by assassins.

The bigger problem is the fact that this s*upid tr*sh who I’ve become doesn’t know about what happened in the village and messes with Choi Han, only to get beaten to a pulp.

“…This is going to be a headache.”

I feel like something serious has happened to me.

But it was worth trying to make this my new life.

What I like:

It's so far one of the best novels I have ever read. It's very rare for me to get past a hundred chapters but in TCF I'm already at part 2. I love the world-building even though it was a bit slow at first, but once you reach around 200 chapters, there are nonstop wars and politics (just as I like). The genre itself is Isekai, with your typical monsters, dragons, royalties, etc. Is generic but the way the author writes the plot is what blows my mind.... more>> So far, I haven't found a single plot hole yet and we are still at part 2. There is also no romance (as someone who is not a fan of romance like me, this novel is heaven). The women here are strong and not some damsel in distress that needs saving (FYI the MC is physically weaker than the women) and every character also has their own personality and doesn't feel like NPC or fodder. They have their own stories and stand out on their own.

My opinions on my favorite characters: I love Cale and Alberu so much. They are both strong and smart, which is my type of MC. I love how they scheme while casually drinking wine in the middle of the night. Cage and Hannah are my favorite strong women, their personalities are quite unique and suit my taste. I love Archie too, who is probably one of the characters who get a lot of development throughout the story.

Now, aside from all the positive things I've said, this novel isn't perfect per se. The only reason I rate this 5 stars is that I truly enjoyed reading this and isn't planning on stopping anytime soon. If I am someone rating this purely on plot, characters, and everything else without personal feelings involved, I'd say this is a 4-star novel.

What I don't like:

BTW, this came from someone who has been following and rereading this novel since 2020 so don't dare say anything like I didn't read enough, only here for the action, or something like that. This is my observation for the past years.
    1. The misunderstanding is becoming repetitive, some memes too, and the character developments, especially Cale (MC), are quite small. Even though I'm already at part 2, Cale is still struggling to open himself to his loved ones. There's progress but it's small.
    2. There are way too many characters and some of them don't even have personalities anymore. I feel like their personalities are just recycled from the other characters. It was fun at first, but I wasn't amused the next time it happened.
    3. I know why Cale always brings Raon (the black dragon) with him but I wish the other two children would also have more roles, even if not in fighting. They are mentioned sometimes, being in Cale's room playing, rubbing their heads on Cale, meowing, and so on but not enough screen time.
    4. I also wish Cale would participate more in politics to get more reactions from the extras (nobles and commoners) but he is always on the front lines so we only know what happens through Alberu. I badly want other's POV on Cale and his achievements.
Personal feelings about part 2 of the novel:

Be careful clicking, there are major spoilers here.

Spoiler

To be honest, I didn't like part 2 that much. I don't like how we kept changing settings, world-building again, new characters, new plots, and world problem-solving. It's kinda overwhelming me. Especially these creepy *ss new characters who want Cale to leave his world and live in theirs without thinking he has a home and family to return to. I hate how Cale barely spends his day with everyone anymore because he is too busy.

Furthermore, the dead should just stay dead. As much as I like the dead characters, them coming back to life and getting a second chance is just not doing it for me. I cried a lot for the angst, about Kim Rok Soo's past, and all that emotion felt wasted, to be honest. Anyway, this is just my feelings so it's only natural you guys won't understand.

I stopped reading on the first part of the novel since I wanted to read it once it's completed but so far, one of the best KR novels I've read. So this review is mainly about the first half/first book of the series.

About the MC:

Spoiler

The MC, Cale Henituse (former Kim Rok Soo), is a very complex character, despite the first impression we get from him. While he appears selfish or manipulative, he is more than that once we see his interactions with his friends and the children. While it is a typical isekai novel with the usual MC becoming OP after stealing certain stuff from other characters (although, I don't think he stole anything if it doesn't belong to them in the first place), I focused more on his emotions, character development and relationships with the characters instead since I find his interactions more interesting.

He's respectful to those who deserves respect like an old man who owns an inn, an exiled princess from another continent, and even a whole race who just genuinely wants to help people. And if he sees someone worth punishing, he'll deliver the punishment 10-fold like the first minor antagonist he meets.

While he's manipulative, he does it for the benefit of his friends and the people although he masks it as him being selfish and tr*shy. Basically, his mouth says one thing but his actions says another. But it's mostly because of what happened to him in his former life.

[collapse]

When I first read this, I was incredibly surprised by the reveal of his past so to those who are impatient, please try to read more until you reach his backstory before he transmigrated to Cale's body. He has a tragic story and it explains a lot why his personality seems indifferent, selfish, or tired.

Spoiler

There are many occasions when he sacrificed his own safety and almost his own life just to protect or save someone. And though he says he's tr*sh, it's not because he's Cale Henituse but because of his past life.

For character development, he went from thinking about his own survival and keeping people at arms length (he's a tsundere with a tragic life) to crying over being alone all over again (because of a trial that forced him to face his fears) to accepting that he's not entirely alone and he can rely on people to not endanger themselves to sacrifice their life for him. He finally accepts that it's not his fault when someone died to save him.

Yes, he has survivor's guilt.

[collapse]

And to show that he's not all goody two shoes or cold-blooded, here's a short spoiler:

Spoiler

What I like about his respectful personality:

During a naval battle that he went in as a commander (I won't spoil why he's so amazing as a leader. It has something to do with his past life), they won the battle in a one-sided manner because they were prepared for the army to come while their enemies didn't expect such a violent welcome.

After the battle, he told the army to gather all the dead enemies floating in the sea to create a proper burial for them. It's because he knows that in most wars, there are still people who are forced to fight in a war they're not supposed to be in. Some are innocent but are forced to sacrifice their lives. But because this is war, there is no mercy in battle.

What I like about his vengeful side:

He caught two men in separate accounts and had them tortured. One for information and because that man harmed his people and the other man because of revenge for torturing Raon.

So no. He's not completely nice or cruel. He's simply a human who wants to protect the innocent while portraying himself as tr*sh.

[collapse]

About the other characters:

    • Female characters:
Spoiler

One good thing that I love about this novel is aside from the Found Family trope, is the author's and MC's respect towards women. It may seem small to other readers, but it's also one of the reasons why I keep reading this novel. It's not a secret that most authors treat women as NPCs or love interests or even poorly written antagonists. Reading about these incredibly strong women is amazing. And they're not just a few! Usually, novels do have strong independent women but they're often few and sometimes only one of them appears in those novels.

Cale himself respects them and believes that they're stronger than him. This is a nice change from those novels focused on making the men stronger and leaving the women weaker. Or you know, when authors love adding women in a harem.

[collapse]

    • Children:
Spoiler

As for the children, I've seen some comments or thoughts about Cale using the children. While it does appear like that, he's actually pretty scared for and of them most of the time. While the kids do fight (since they're incredibly strong and can flatten a mountain or kill an entire army), it's usually for minor roles like in wars except for Raon who is a dragon. They go in, do some damage, and then leave. And they do it with adults with them, so yes, they're completely safe.

Usually, all the kids are there as support and leave the bigger fights to the adults (except for Raon who is told by Cale to be invisible for his own safety).

[collapse]

Spoiler

There was this one instance when Raon was asleep because of a trial and they were in the midst of battle. Lock couldn't use his abilities so Cale simply entrusted him with Raon and went to the front by himself to serve as a shield and commander. If that is not selfless and caring for Raon and Lock, who he sees as a kid as well, (who are both more powerful and dangerous than him), then I don't know what is.

[collapse]

    • Choi Han (original MC) :
Spoiler

At first, I thought Choi Han is a simple and gullible character. But after finding out about Cale's secret, he reacted more mature than I expected. He didn't lashed out and instead wanted to protect Cale since despite Cale's denial, Choi Han sees the man as someone worth protecting, especially since Cale is the most self-sacrificing person he's ever met.

[collapse]

    • Main antagonist (first part) :
Spoiler

To those who are complaining that Cale is OP, let me tell you that the antagonist is way scarier. He's too powerful and has a whole freaking army devoted to him and his goals. He's not afraid of sacrificing his own people (except for the strong ones) and he's not entirely sane (once you know his background, it does make sense why he's not completely right in the head).

When he first appeared, I felt scared for everyone. He's very intimidating and powerful, maybe more than most of Cale's strong allies. It took a whole first book just to find out how to defeat this guy.

And while Cale is smart, the antagonist is just as smart. Power and intelligence combined together made him the best and worst enemy for the protagonists of the story.

[collapse]

Setting and story:

The world building threw me off guard. While I was right with the author writing about kingdoms and nobles and dragons, the history behind the world Cale landed in is full of surprises. There's a reason why he transmigrated. There's a reason why the antagonist is strong. There's a reason why there's ancient powers and why most of them are in the West continent. There's a reason why there's a baby dragon near him. And there's a reason why Alberu/Alver is the crown prince. Let's just say that every question has an answer though some take literal hundreds of chapter before being revealed.

So yes, TCF is my number one favorite novel. It has everything I'm looking for in a transmigration novel. I might continue reading the rest once the whole series is completed. <<less

I've been a fan of this book for a year now and I can't fathom how much I love it. The MC, Cale is the best part about this novel, he's cunning and smart, yet very sweet. My favorite aspect has to be the found family. The way they all grow to appreciate each other truly warms my heart. The novel has a lot of comedic moments that will make you laugh and there's a lot of plot twists that you wouldn't expect! I would say that this novel contains... more>> a lot of aspects I wished other isekai novels touched upon. It's an ideal isekai novel to me.

However, I will admit the pacing itself is very slow, and a lot of characters aren't developed enough because of the huge group of companions but this book is still one of my favorites. This book is definitely not for everyone but if you're interested check it out!! <<less

I read the first part (300+ Chapters) and this story is really good, it has amazing characters and a interesting world with a cool power system. I will say though that it is kinda carried by its characters but this series has to flaws which damage it heavily. 1 it has little stakes, it needs more character deaths so I feel like the MC is at risk and 2 it has a problem which you may not agree with but I think ... more>>

Just read the first volume. The plot is amazing. For me, only the later chapters of "God's Trial" are a bit boring. I think some characters could use a little more light. It's still solid. The humor is constant and not very lively, but enjoyable.

I just want to say that because of this novel, I tend to compare every novel I read to it in terms of world building, characters, plot, story build up, and relationship dynamics. The world building is immaculate in Part 1 and provides the necessary background information so that we won't be overwhelmed with Part 2. I love seeing the interactions between all the characters especially Cale, Alberu and Choi Han. I love the diversity of the races as well, literally every fictional type of race was almost mentioned here.... more>> There was also angst and suspense that kept me on my toes, and when I thought I finally knew why that happened boom plot twist and more questions. Everything is so unexpected and expected at the same time, so many battles occurred which was fun to read. Another review said that the author played with general clichés, and she did that exceptionally that I'm awestruck with how she was able to naturally weave it all together to make it unique.

But what really made me fall in love with the novel is Cale. I love this man, besides looking fine whether in the novel or manhwa, he's so selfless and sacrificial but he won't admit it. The amount of times he almost died when he didn't have to go that far to risk his life really makes you think if he's immortal. He claims he's not a good guy BUT EVERYONE SAYS OTHERWISE INCLUDING ME whether in his past life or current life. I LOVE HIM, HE'S SO PRECIOUS NOT ONLY TO ME BUT TO MOST PEOPLE IN THE STORY. He's changed lives and gave the other character's hope when they feel worthless and hopeless. WAHHHHHHH ESP RAON WAHHH, HE HIS SON WAHHH.

My baby Raon, I love you so much~

PS: Calebab will forever be iconic.

First of all, as someone who has read a lot of reviews for this novel, I would like to encourage new readers to dive in, start reading and come back to read the reviews if you find that you want to drop the novel. Reviews kind of function like spoilers to some extent, they can really influence your decision in reading the novel or not, if you read a negative or a positive review. Hence I would like you to first give it a try if you are interested in... more>> the novel before coming here.

I love this story. I agree with plenty of reviews and reviewers who have shared their opinion on the novel, both the good and the bad there are all true about this novel. I feel the reviews here would be a great way for the author to understand what he did well and what he could improve on. I want to contribute by clearly pointing out ideas that I thought were not clear in the reviews here, and areas where the author or this story can improve.

I feel the author is good at maximising his strengths, which in a sense becomes his weakness. They are bad at actual storytelling and tend to avoid it often as it would reduce the quality of their work. As said by a few reviews, there's less actual world-building and lore but more bits and pieces that we discover here and there through the characters, monologues or explanations.

Since one of the main gimmicks the author has (which is one of his strengths) is the misunderstanding surrounding Cale, there are just fewer moments of actual character development, and most of them are firming beliefs, overcoming hardship to get stronger, etc. This in itself isn't necessarily bad but and there are other examples between other character relations (the children, Ron's developing perception of Cale, etc.), you get the point it would be much more satisfactory if they slowly bonded together resolving these misunderstandings eventually (my opinion) or something else to make the character development truly shine in this novel and the author to improve.

Finally, another of the author's gimmicks is the fact that Cale has meta-knowledge about the world he is in. This is obviously not complete and won't be consistent with his butterfly effects, but the fact that the author explains what happens in the initial stages of the story as the story progresses can prove to be a hindering obstacle to worldbuilding which is evident in later chapters. Didn't find this to be a major obstacle in stopping people from reading as the author's strengths which other reviews have clearly described are able to keep people engaged and enjoy their story, but something that is helpful to create a strong otherworldly sense or foundation for the story so that people can read for more than just enjoying the characters and their adventures.

Spoiler

For example, I would love it if the author goes into more detail regarding the previous mythical power holders or Cale's own world. Maybe through like a side chapter of a POV from an ancient power holder, or a past story by Haben-gramps, maybe a random quote for a few chapters developing a perception regarding how the ancient world looked, etc. Do you get the point? (I have not completed the novel yet but I assume the author does write regarding these points in later chapters to tie up loose points and provide an overall conclusion.)

[collapse]
The author has created a wonderful and enjoyable story that I would love to see him improve and flesh it out! <<less

One of my favorites of all time. I can never predict what happens next and the emotional roller coaster makes me feel so alive. Seriously, I’ve reread this multiple times and it never gets old. The manhwa for this is stellar as well. One of those series I hope continues to update safely. (Or else I think I’ll cry~)

This is one of the best KR novels right now. The complex plot, the characters, the development and mysteries... Everything totally hooked me up.

The way the world building is done and the mysteries being slowly revealed as there's more to the story than MC being simply transmigrated into a novel character.

(The running gag of Cale coughing up blood is always hilarious and the children are cuties)

This ended up being so different than I expected and it's a delight to anticipate how things will actually go down. (Also the... more>> memes in the fan community are hilarious af)

Worth it.

There's a reason why MC is the way he is and why the world is that why but the author doesn't hand it to you on a platter. A lot of novels will have a flashback or the narration will tell you fairly early on but for this one? Like the characters the MC meets you can recognize that *something* is wrong. but you can't tell exactly.

And at the same time the MC does things that can't help but make you like him. He says he doesn't care and... more>> does cold things but if you take a step back and look... he very very clearly does Care. And you don't find the reason for his behaviour early on which is why people thought the story was shallow and boring and left.

Nah.

Just look at the chapter count and enjoy the ride. Because when you find out everything, you're in so deep that the reveal actually hits hard, instead of just generic angst. The start of the novel is not fast paced, and eventually MC's knowledge runs out and there were things he didn't know either. After all, he just read a novel so it can't actually contain all the intricacies of an actual world.

The plot build-up is great, the clues are All There, the cast is big but they all have depth, it's impossible to not find at least one person you vibe with, and the stakes are high.

It's a long long novel so just enjoy the ride okay? <<less

The story is pretty good, characters are not some brainless mob instead they are realistic, likable and most importantly they are memorable. Protagonist is lazy and there's many things about his character that annoys me but there are likable characteristics too, plot is pretty good it deserves a 5 star but there are some things that aren't much likable, it has nothing to do with story instead it's because of my own personal preferences and my own personal opinion about some characters

Spoiler

The author of the novel wants to portrait Cale as some sort of tragic hero at least from perspective of other characters it feels like that. I agree he has done a lot and went through a lot, but why has Cale never explained anything regarding the fact that he is never in true pain when using power? Whenever he uses him power he coughs up blood which is as he said isn't harmful to his body, but he has never explained it to others why? Maybe he's some kind of masochist who likes it when someone pities him?

Another fact is his adverse reaction to pain, why is he like that? There's no suitable explanation, you would expect him to be at least a little tolerant to pain, but nope he acts like a princess that have never experienced anything. Which clearly clashes with the fact about his past life's hardship. And he is too brave.... no I won't say he is brave but he is certainly c*cky yes he is that. Or else how can he have the guts to curse a god? No I'm not offended or anything I'm an atheist, , I'm just annoyed how much foolish can one be to try and provoke a being (G.O.D) that can probably swat him away like a fly.

Ah other characters have this characteristics in them too and that's annoying. Their care for Cale even disgusts me somewhat sometimes, too much of anything is not good.... or so I have heard

[collapse]

Anyway the novel is great probably because it's the only novel I have read where protagonist is smart while other characters are also likable.

There aren't much plot holes even if there was at least I don't think I'll find them if I don't actively search for them.

Plot is interesting. I would have liked it more if some of protagonists plan really worked without much hiccups but guess that's not really possible.

It's great novel tho the current cover creeps me out somewhat as it's feels like cover of an yaoi genre novel.....I hope that that creepy feeling never comes true.

It's great novel with little flaws, and most importantly it's fun to read <<less

My Favorite Novel! I love the setting of the World...

Spoiler...

I love the setting of the World’s, all the characters and their well developed personality’s. The best person is Cale/ Kim Rok Soo, you can’t say something against him, without him there would be no real story to tell. I appreciate this work and it’s mind blowing plot twist setting a lot. Thanks to the author and the translator!

So this is more of an advice than a review.

(A lot of reviews mention how they couldn't get past the early 10-30ish chapters so)

If you feel like you are not really getting into this in the beginning or a few chapters in, I suggest you read the Manhwa first. It has a gorgeous art style. I say read till the end of season 1 before you decide to drop this. The Manhwa also mentions the corresponding novel chapters at the end of each of its chapters.

I just read the review by alominus and I just had to write this. You have only read the beginning chapters, right? I have currently read all the translated chapters and AMAZING doesn't even begin to describe it. At the beginning I was also like you thinking that how can a nerdy korean living a normal life not be bothered by blood and war even if he thinks he's in a book he read?? But my, how was I proven wrong. Just wait until his past is revealed and you... more>> will understand why he can easily make strategies about War and isn't fazed by the blood and gore of the battlefield. And just you reach the 700+ chapters when the past and present of his (his Rok soo life and Cale life) begin to interwine and then you will be left thinking "what? What? WHAT?!!!IS THAT WHAT HAPPENED? GOODNESS WHAT A TWIST!!" Basically it is nothing like those other novels where a simple office worker transmigrates into a novel and suddenly becomes so powerful, cunning and scheming. Don't judge before reaching the part where his past is revealed, please.

It will actually be unnatural if Cale vomits seeing blood and corpses being chopped or doesn't know how to make fight strategy, after getting to know his past.

Spoiler

Actually as Kim Rok Soo, there was an apocalypse and monsters appeared all over the world. Rok soo survived in a destroyed world filled with monsters for nearly two decades and when he transmigrated into 'The Birth of a Hero' he was actually a team leader of a team of a guild that fought against monsters. So he won't really react like a normal office worker but like a team leader who fought against monsters for half his life when he makes strategies for war. He won't be sick and nauseous seeing blood and corpse being chopped when he has seen an unranked monster killing more than half the population of Busan. And that was the weakest unranked monster. Also about the little details like, in the beginning about the attack at Lock's village where there was a difference from the story cale read and mention about 'seed', I had really forgotten about that but the author connects and explains that at four hundred or so chapters.

[collapse]

This is a mind-blowing book and the author has done an amazing job of tying the loose ends. Every little detail is taken care of and in the later chapters we even come to know the reason about his transmigration, what happened to the original Cale and the truth behind 'The Birth of a Hero'. As much as it is humorous, it's also quite serious, sad and suspenseful at times. The character development is very good and the interactions between characters are nice and cute (especially between cale and his kids). Just be a little patient as some little details and puzzles are explained in the later parts. If these parts would have been explained earlier it would destroyed the storyline and fun. Even if you think that the beginning is slow and Cale is wasting time doing unnecessary things then Wait, those are actually quite important and you will see the absolute need of the beginning to be a tiny bit slow paced after a hundred chapters or so (and by slow paced I mean no wars). To anybody hesitating surely read this. It's too a good a book to be missed. IT'S A MUST READ BOOK WITH COMEDY, ADVENTURE, FUNNY MISUNDERSTANDINGS, A LITTLE HEARTACHE, AND WONDERFUL PLOTLINE. <<less

[Just some rambling from a frustrated reader...]

Been on and off trying to read this novel for at least 5 or 6 times since 2018 and it gets so boring each time... Unfortunately I can't understand how so many reviews are five stars...

It gets quite repetitive as all the fights doesn't lead to anything at all, we all know MC will survive with no sequela and the same goes for the dragon, magician and swordsman...

After 400 chapters almost nothing have changed... Does his political or business acumen increase after getting recognized... more>> as a national/ continental hero? Does his domain and title gets elevated? Does his proficiency in magic or sword increase? Does he recruit / train soldiers or increase anything at all?

The plot and the MC's personality may sound intriguing, but be warned for he is no tr*sh at all, even though the author "tells" us he is a tr*sh / the MC thinks of himself as a tr*sh, he doesn't "show" us any of it. He is most likely the most active person in the world, scheming behind the scenes, teleporting everywhere, catching familiars, allies and items (as if we are playing a RPG game where the hero party is slowly crawling towards the "demon 'wannabe-god' castle").

The biggest flaw is that the author often "tells" us what will happen through the MC's inner monologue, thereby letting the reader know what will happen 10/20 or even 30 chapters in advance... As the saying goes: "Don't tell me the moon is shining; show me the glint of light on broken glass." I guess this is the main reason I stop reading...

On the other hand the most likely reason I come back to this novel is because of Raon's schtiks... The interaction between the characters and the comedy is praiseworthy~ <<less

i don't really expect anything when I started reading this. I'm just looking for a new novel to read and this has been on my list for weeks so I started it on a whim. But boiiii, thank God I started it.

i got hooked on the plot so much, I LOVE how people around young master Cale cared so much about him as much as Cale cared about them but did not show it. This novel is one of the novels I pretty much reading all over again when I... more>> got to the newest chapter. The plot get better and better so maybe people who said some characters ain't delevoped much or etc should tried to read more. This novel brings more to it as time goes by.

highly recommended, especially if you like ORV's kinda novels. I just hope this won't end the same as that novel T-T <<less

this novel is my JAM—

Quick Note: Every 'plot hole' you find has a reason for being there!

Spoiler

Why does Cale remember the book so well that he can even directly quote it? Why is he so good at taking the lead? What happened to the OG Cale, what about the body of Kim Rok Soo?

Once you learn the answers, you'll wonder why you didn't think of them sooner.
[collapse]

You may go into this thinking Cale knows everything and this is a power fantasy, it's not.

From the beginning it's addressed that Cale's very existence changes the plot, even his simplest actions have major consequences (good and bad). Actually, he reaches the end of his knowledge of the plot fairly early in the story. Almost every character has a unique personality, when one is introduced, no matter how minor their role is they progress the plot in some way.

Cale is actually one of the weakest (main) characters, but the way he does things makes him seem strong because he won't let anyone get hurt.
Spoiler

He has no regard for his own safety. This is actually addressed in the novel.

[collapse]
He casually coughs up blood nearly every chapter (its actually a good thing) and faints a lot too, but not in an annoying way if you catch my drift.

Cale's bad at communicating, which leads to hilarious misunderstandings, especially by the villain such as:

Spoiler

"Father! This esteemed Sir is a god!"

"You're an envoy of the gods and have transmigrated through thousands of years to stop me!"

"This boy is a dragon!"

*Thwarting an evil God's power by asking if he could be a slacker*

and much, much more!

[collapse]

He just wants to be a slacker, but is down to the bone a good person (even if he won't admit it). He can't live a slacker life knowing that bad things are happening, this man is straight willing to get the worst injures while saying "I'm fine, also how dare you get hurt."

Spoiler

Viscously scolding Choi Han after a he found out what Choi Han gave up to help him.

[collapse]

He gets a very large found family, and care for them deeply even if he doesn't say it. He's pretty much a dad to the three youngest, even giving them an allowance, even his ancient power are part of the family even if he's the only one that can hear them.

There's so much more but anyway, this story is wonderful and I highly recommend it!

i really love this novel and im crazy for it. I love cale’s character sm, like how he act and I really like the fact that this is not a romance. I love his relationship with the other characters. Raon is adorable, choi han is innocent (and he’s a bad actor too lmao). I easily got hooked into it and the plot itself is good and the revelations are just so shocking. In my opinion it was one of the best novel I have ever read🤸🏻‍♀️🤸🏻‍♀️🤸🏻‍♀️

I undoubtedly recommend this novel. It has a character development not just at the MC but at his companions as well. You can cleary see the value of understanding each other and the will to move forward as well as with many funny conversations and misunderstandings. The novel itself is epic with mysterious creatures and many tests the MC has to overcome. He overcomes his own despair and make new memories with the people he cares and takes care with his allies. This cleary shows the importance of friendship and... more>> overcoming the hardships the MC and his friends has to overcome.

Not to overrate this but this is highly recommended. <<less

So far my 5 days reading this novel to catch up to latest release is literally worth it my sleepless nights is not wasted-

Tbh- this novel is soo unique- the MC do not have a love interest and this kind of novel that I always want!

I really love the girls side character especially rosalyn, witira, hannah, tasha, and mary they are not dumb and they are soo useful in every battle- the womens in this novel is soo independent and do not need any man's protection-

i f*cking love the character... more>> development- I observed that in every chapter that every character is having a slowly having a character development, especially cale I remembered that cale just want to use the people around him but ended up considering them as his family I noticed also that before cale's going to do something big that can cause him fainting he worried about their emotions- especially the children-

I love the personality and the way of speaking of the mc- like he's unexpectedly dropping the bomb in some conversation- and the way that he's admitting to his self that he's not a good person but ended up becoming the "hero".

The Misunderstanding- I cant-

the plotwist, it's unexpected like it didnt even crossed that idea on your mind and that's why you are craving more chapters-

SO FAR SO GOOD- NOW I UNDERSTAND WHY THIS BECOME A #1 NOVEL IN SOME WEBSITES- THE 5 DAYS OF SLEEPLESS NIGHTS TO READ THIS IS SOO WORTH IT I REALLY RECOMMENDED THIS

f*ck SG and WS arghhh- they are soooo annoying they are getting on my nerves especially when I read the summary of 703 - 720- but ofcourse they will not expect what our young master cale is planning- <<less
