while reading this I often wondered, if the writer got the inspiration for the storyline after watching HULK. (The tyrant calms down when he sees his true love). Loved the story tho, very cute.

Edit: I've been informed that I may have been reading on a site that doesn't belong to the translator, and there are links for some of the chapters I was complaining about. But I started reading this from a novelupdates link to this site, so idk. I'm not sure I'm invested enough to finish the last quarter of the book, but my complaints about the translator's site may not actually be relevant

The novel's not bad, but the translator's site is mu*dering me, and the novel isnt strong enough to... more>> carry me past that trouble. Big, impossible to close video ads pop up and cover half my phone screen every chapter, which is fun. Chapters 3, 4, and 5 all had the text of chapter 3, so idk what the deal is with the restaurant, or how two chapters worth of relationship establishing went. Chapters 51-55 are missing. I see that up there, they link to google docs (by the same translator?), which is a fun secret not to share on your website.

I tried to press on, but lost my momentum, and I probably won't be bothering to finish, unless the act of not-finishing itches at me. Even then, the things other commenters have said about the relationship development and the crown prince make me nervous about investing emotional energy in this story. The characters were likeable, but probably not enough so to carry me over this speedbump. I wanted to like it, so it's a shame, but... ehh. <<less

first things first... really good plot, romantic, and song song is interesting as a character. If you have normal expectations, it's really not bad.

there's only a time skip, and it's really only li xiao who grows/adapts.

also, I just think it's so wack how song song is so obsessed about having a kid for a few years sans then once the kid grows up, he stops caring as much and practically stops giving his kid attention?!?!? Like I know it's due to li xiao's sickness, but they kicked him out of the house at age 5! I had low expectations about li xiao being a good dad, because of his personality, but I expected more from song song, especially after the author specifically mentioned song song's grief for so many chapters.

I actually enjoyed my time reading this. It's so full of fluff, and tbh I rlly need that TvT.

But ngl after I finished reading this, I realized some flaws of the novel. It's not too bad that it'll spoil ur reading experience, but a flaw is a flaw nonetheless.

The ML's character isn't too enjoyable to read for me at least. He's possessive (and I quite like that) but that's it. No character development from what i've seen whatsoever. His character is okay, but doesn't really feel 'alive'.

I finished reading this novel in under 24 hours, properly without rushing or skipping, and I'm Proud!!! 👊❤️ First, it was Purely Great from the start till the end!!!

It's Perfect from the start till the end!!!

The whole thing is Satisfying!!! It's Revenge Faceslapping fic. Though it's more like Faceslashing, Facestabbing, Facescratching!!! 😈😈😈 It has literal Faceslapping moments though. And Satisfying too!

Both the MC and ML is the Best Characters! They have great personality and smooth development between them! Their relationship is Absolutely Greats and their personality equally the Best! They're perfect... more>> with their flaws and all. Yes, they have 'flaws' but that made their imperfections; perfect! 👍 It's so Satisfying that even when I thought everything was over, there's more Final Revenge that made the Revenge ending even more Perfect!

It's the story that better not get much spoilers and just read it already because it would be so good like that! Thank god I didn't get any spoilers and just chose to read this!

I Love this novel with all my Heart and My Soul and My Eternal Love for the Eternity and Beyond!!! <<less

ML deserves an ass-whooping in the last few chapters. I mean, given his first life and illness, understandably he has issues. But scaring the MC after he just gave birth to monopolize his attention and using illness as an excuse to raise his son with neglect is pretty sad. Don't know if the neglect part will change in the future (doesn't really seem like it), hence bad/happy end.

Bitter ending aside, the rebirth/revenge parts were sweet. Those people were bad and they really deserved it. There were also some funny moments and a few badass female characters (short screentime, though).

To those reviews that say MC is feminine/no different from a female character,

I've read characters where 'he/him' was obviously slapped onto some female cliche, but I didn't get that vibe from MC. Based on his settings (and the world settings), his character makes sense. Not all people will like this type of tolerant/calm character, of course, as if men can't be considerate and cook for themselves...

Okay, there was the one scene where MC rushed to his maternal family's old restaurant after hearing about a mu*der there, and I didn't understand why he was freaking out so much when he's learned to be calm and collected. I thought he was acting more affected than he was, but nope. Except for this inexplicable episode (to show he's 'dumb' and 'harmless'), the rest of his behavior is reasonable in my opinion.

Bottom line, depending on how seriously (or not) you take the novel's settings is how much you'll enjoy it. A light read for a revenge novel. <<less

Really fluffy and a good short story. I love both the MC and the ML. I hope there will be more extra stories about the couple and the young prince. I felt that the ending was a bit incomplete but that's just a personal note. Overall. It was a great read.

An indulgent fluffy (with mu*der) story of a possessive ML who is kinda crazy and loves MC to the extent that he's quite possessive, but not really black belly. For the most parts, this story is quite sweet, with almost no angst and it was mainly about MC, with ML's help, re-living and regaining what he had lost in his last life, with some degree of revenge. However, MC is not very vengeful, which is something I like.

In the past life, MC got killed by his brother and said brother... more>> pretended to be him to live with ML. However, since ML is crazy and only loves MC, only MC could calm him down, so that brother "used MC's face" to try to calm ML down, as if he was the real wife. But since ML knew that brother wasn't his real lover, ML only truly loved his own son born from MC before he had died. MC watched over them as a ghost, until things happened and they were reincarnated back to when MC first met ML.

However, fair warning that since ML is crazy, his jealousy and possessiveness of MC can be off-putting. As long as you understand and don't mind that, then it's fine. In fact, for me, I actually think that considering his character, it's pretty reasonable, and he very rarely bullied MC, only teased in a fairly gentle way.

Overall, I think the story is very interesting and enjoyable and quite a guilty-pleasure type of story bcoz it's not actually that great but you just like it. <<less

If you enjoy yandere and face slapping (which I do) this is a good read. If you don't like yandere MLs then definitely don't read.

It's a really well put together going back to the past and getting to prevent and get revenge story.

There's a few pacing issues but compared to other danmei I've read the pacing is actually well done.

If you like 'Eight Treasures Trousseau' and 'To Be A Virtuous Wife', then you are bound to like this novel too.

This novel have lots of similarity to 'To Be A Virtuous Wife'. There are royal family, idiotic family of MC, lots of plot and conspiracy to takeover the throne, loveable subordinates etc. That is only one-third of the novel, rest two-third focuses on the relationship and character development of the MC and ML.

Here, what I liked the most is that the author gave a proper ending while explaining clearly 'Why... more>> the MC and ML are reborn?', 'How it happened?' and 'Why the ML loves MC to the extend that, he is obsessed with him?'. Most of the novel doesn't bother to give a proper explanation, which leaves always a question 'why all these happened?'. However, when this novel gave clear explanation that made the ending seem more sweet.

Since there are no dramatic change or sudden development to look out for. Instead the story occurs in a sequence. Even though I knew something is gonna happen, I still read to see how actually the MC or ML would face that crisis. The most sweet thing about this novel is the interaction between the main characters, and how they actually develop their relation through the sickness and past life's trauma. There are revenge and it is done quite nicely, but those are not the main focus of the story. <<less

This novel is great read. It's the usual face slapping and overbearing gong kind of story. The plot is not too much complicated. What I like is that altho the gong is very possessive and is literally a lunatic, he's very understanding of the shou. And shou is not a white lotus weak and innocent. He's smart and cunning but not completely evil to the point of killing anyone.

The plot is quite interesting. Its about both main characters plotting their revenge for their awful previous life and also living and experiencing what they didnt have last life. Its quite amusing to see their reactions when things dont happen the way they did previously and how they hide from each other about their rebirth. I feel bad for those villains honestly. Their revenge is totally brutal. 😅. In relationship department, I hv to admit its lacking something. Li Xiao is totally on fire while Song Song is so flat.... more>> Come on Song Song, we need some ignition! The only part that I can feel some strong feeling from SongSong is when Li Xiao is leaving for the frontline. Others is just 😐. Btw, the title doesnt do this story justice. It needs a more elegant title. <<less

even though I had fun reading this novel it got a bit irritating at the end for the following reasons

First thing was how he behaved after the SS gave birth to a child

Second was how fought with his son to curry the favour of SS and basically didn't let the child get the parental love that he deserved at his age

It's basically the story of our main characters getting revenge without encountering any mind wrecking trouble

I loved the couple in the story, but I didn't like how much Li Xiao loved Song'er, in general I hate those characters who acts out of love for someone and doesn't care about other people because they always do something foolish, but yeah they're good together. I guess some people are also talking about how they feel Song'er doesn't actually love him as much, while I can see that because sometimes he's afraid of Li Xiao illness so sometimes it might've been out fear he said those living words,... more>> but I think he did develop feelings and feels grateful to him for taking care of him because without him he couldn't have gotten his revenge

This story was absolutely heartwarming and cute! Our couple is a match made in heaven. I love how the ML acts so childish and clingy to our MC, always wanting to be pampered. My only complaint is that the novel was too short! I need more fluff uwu
