Before she died, Du YouWei, the daughter of the Du Family and a little spoiled rich girl, experienced what it was like to be poor. During the numerous nights of suffering from severe headaches, Zhang ShaoYan relied on listening to the same music to soothe his discomfort. Later, he tracked down the singer of the song, the infamous Du YouWei, the Du family’s least promising daughter.

Typical reborn MC.

In her past life, she was a cannonfodder, due to her fiancé's scheme, led to her family's downfall. She chose to jump into the sea.

She somehow recorded a song which was used by ML whenever he suffer headaches.

Hmmm. I read it to pass the time but I wouldn't say I like it very much. It's about a reborn girl who meets the ML who helps her overcome the difficulties in her first life. She seems to also have a super lucky fate this time around.

I call her a girl because at the start of the story, the mannerisms and mentality made me think she was a teenager. Then to my surprise it turns out she was in college? I also don't understand her major and why she... more>> would be doing math problems in college and failing subjects but have no repercussions just because she's from a rich family. Honestly the school setting was kinda messed up. It made me feel as though author just wrote it on a whim.

It is also mentioned that the FL was reborn after she unalive herself because she caused the bankruptcy of her family. However it isn't really explained how it happened? Like how in the span of almost one year plus, her life went to ruins and then she unalive herself.

She also honestly had a lot of help in her second chance from the ML. He basically helps her solve a lot of stuff. And all her problems are also solved with money. Like her finding a private detective to find out info about brother's ex gf, getting money to open a company to help some people, etc.

As for the romance: to be very frank I don't quite like the domineering attitude of the ML who is doting but super overbearing. He'a almost yandere tbh. He gets jealous easily, doesn't allow FL to talk about other men in front of him, controls her actions and once when she went out he asks, "where are you, who are you with, etc", likes monitoring her... During an incident with her and a male artist, ML immediately sends out news that he's engaged to her without actually asking her about it. Even the relationship with her was started by him bringing to a family party and he's like "don't you know what I want?" bro, while I like doting ML, he's just too conceited and overbearing for my taste. Truly the definition of overbearing CEO.

Well I guess the FL likes that type. FL is... a bimbo. Really. She's so airheaded and "innocent". Easily trusting others and pretty submissive. She has temper tantrums though and the ML is like "aw she has a tantrum.. she'll be fine in the morning." -.-

Everything goes well for the leads. Minimal faceslapping tbh. The parts I truly enjoyed in the story was the random comedic moments like when FL's father meets his idol. <<less

While I was reading it, I liked it, then it was easily forgotten. I liked the fluff and the interactions between the MCs. I liked the FL’s family relationships. I liked the beautiful people and their lives as depicted in the story — it’s a feel good type of story. I’m writing this review 3-4 days after finishing the story, I had to re-read the synopsis to remind me of the story, hence the first sentence. 🤭 It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t memorable either.

没出息的豪门女配[重生] should be added as the second associated name, because this novel exists under this name now on JJ and this is the reason because I haven't found it on NU when I searched for the first time. Instead I mtl'd the entire novel.

I must say I'm happu to find this author and that I checked this author further, or else I might have stayed on this novel and miss out on better works they produced. Because this isn't their best. It's okay, but to me they have better ones.

In her last life DYW was instigated to be against a woman and this woman happened to be dating a man with whom she had a baby kiss. She didn't really care about that baby kiss, but bore unbearable consequences for her small actions. Her family went bankrupt, all people left them, she wasn't ready for life at all, she felt unbearable and jumped. She went back in time before things took a serious turn. Now she looks back at some events with not such a simple-minded view and realizes how deeply she was instigated and how she basically took the blame for someone who was left behind the scenes and that is her supposed-to-be good friend.

She came back to change things.

At the same time her mother went to a master because her daughter wasn't having a good time and the person told her to wait under the tiger and the tiger will come. She spent two days in a park under a stone figure, got a cold, but also met a really handsome man. One thing though is when she politely said hello, he turned around and walked away.

Zhang Shaoyan was at the helm of the Zhang family, others thought he ruled the world, but only he and his personal assistant knew one secret, ZSY suffered from occasional headaches and those weren't connected to brain problems, but were his psychological shadows and only one song he found accidentally was left on his phone as his salvation. Little did he know when he went to a charity auction and when Du Youwei was presenting her lot on stage he finally found the person he was looking for, the owner of that voice.

That's basically the summary of the beginning of this story. I'm glad I persisted, because I was a bit taken aback by the actions of DYW's mother and how she felt unfeeling and weird. Sand sculptures were a bit aggressive. Later the story actually had a really fun and easy-going side to it. What I liked about the humor that it wasn't built on word-play that is hard to get after translating, but basic humor that can be understood. I also found it refreshing that both people were attracted and began to be together early on, like around 20th chapter already with full length of this novel being 83 chapters (+extras). From inexplicably meeting to later development it wasn't boring too. What is a usual way of things is how either we see a slow development between the pair and it takes time to come together or if people come together it's all boring sweet stuff. What saved the day for me is how DYW and ZSY treat each other with humor, they're joking with each other/bickering, it's funny to see how DYW is fanning her partner, it doesn't bring the bad feeling of just being like a licking dog. It's light and humorous relationship. DYW is like a lively bird, the story is not burdened by her depression, since there's no depression, she's a lively little bird that wants to enjoy new life, she only changed a little bit of things that would put her at risk in previous life (like not being framed like in previous life), but in general she doesn't change herself, there's no burdening herself with working to the bone and handling business and such, she just escaped the calamity and that helped her and now ZSY who came into contact with her became her partial golden finger too. She still did many good deeds after the master's advice. It's a really light story and it doesn't really have a goal, since the change and love come really quickly, but there are enough funny moments and changes that entertain you. I only found that at the ending the whole travel to Japan could be cut out, but all in all it was fine :)

But it may not be everyone's cup of tea. I agree the beginning was a bit weird with all the waiting for someone in a park. And the rebirth part was quite cliche. So unlike their other novels it may not come as great, but for a leisure read it's okay.

PS: But one thing is that I like female characters they portray, unlike the popular prototype of a lovely little rabbit or a hamster that is waiting to be saved by ML and don't mention they should be a little silly white flower and kind.. Yuck. Many of their female characters are more sunny, lively, life-loving, sometimes have tendency to be a salted fish, but they're the types I prefer more to the stereotypical heroines that are so abundant in the stories.

Honest rate is about 3, 75/5. <<less

I have reread this story many times. Personally I love this story because I just love the ML and FL. This is not a poor girl with rich guy love story. Both of them are rich and I just love the vibe between them.

I liked how the FL is really a naive but clever and somewhat vain little girl. She isn’t annoying to me. I found her and her family adorable. The plot was ok nothing new. The male lead is the domineering president but he is less neurotic/psychopathic than some others I have seen. Their romance is really sweet like strawberry candy. There is no character development nor very deep story here. Overall it’s a light silly sweet novel

It's mediocre.

The plot is basic and the characters are flat and developed weirdly. It's like the author had just watched some Korean drama and thought "ok, let's put those cringy scenes that were meant to be cool and funny in my new novel".

    1. I don't think the FL is OP. She was reborn, got some luck, and had lots of money but she is originally a noble girl, of course she got money and luck. Her reborn helped her see things more clearly but you couldn't say it's an OP cheat. And her singing skill has nothing to do with curing the ML's headache. He just needs to hear her sing, that's all.
    2. ML is said to be cold and fierce but I can't see it anywhere by looking at the way he treats his people. He's more like the silent and serious type.

Is the plot anything new? No. Are the characters special? No.

Is there any actual character development? No. (Kinda? Depends how you feel about character development but you can argue that there is --)

... more>> It's nothing special. I cannot say it does not recycle some of the common plots for this genre nor can I argue that the story revolutionized how the characters form the Romance-Second Chance Toolkit were portrayed.

But it is commendable that it does nothing especially strange or ruinous to the story. It's a simple, straightforward story you can easily digest and enjoy sincerely. <<less
