The women just have the same exact tactic upon finding out the thoughts of our protagonist. Like the exact same strategy pops up. Lets seduce him to keep him near us... meanwhile they know he's playing this simp angle because of his thoughts. They do nothing with that information to lure him into more interesting plot hooks besides the simplest stuff. Honestly it's a fun concept, but not explored with enough of the fun depth you could go into.

This is a fun but silly villain system novel. Like always, the system gives overpowered rewards but so far it hasn't come up much. The MC runs around like a moron while the story falls apart and the heroines do the interesting stuff. And that's fine. I like having the heroines have more personality. It is an interesting idea and the implementation is interesting too. Unfortunately the writing seems to get weaker every time the author splits his focus to add a new girl so I imagine the quality will... more>> eventually be bad. But until then it is fun and worth a read. <<less

I followed this novel all the way to chapter 303 — and I can confidently say that it was an unfortunate waste of time, driven mostly by misplaced hope. The premise was genuinely interesting: the “villain” becomes aware of the plot and tries to navigate his way through a world where the heroines can hear his inner thoughts, while the original protagonist (now an antagonist in a way) follows the intended storyline. Sounds unique, right? It had so much potential.

But the execution? Disastrous.

The plot quickly turns into an incoherent mess,... more>> riddled with logic holes and shallow development. Female characters are virtually indistinguishable from one another. They all go through the same cycle: hear the MC’s thoughts, realize they were meant to be part of a “harem, ” try to resist it... and the "villain" is shocked — every single time, as if it’s the first time it’s happening. You’d think that after dozens of these encounters, he’d start expecting deviation from the original plot, but no — he reacts with the same bewilderment, again and again.

Worse still, there is no real character growth. The MC doesn’t become smarter or more cunning; he remains just as reactive, indecisive, and dim-witted as at the beginning. If anything, he gets worse. His actions are rarely consistent with someone trying to play the role of a “villain” or outsmart fate — he's more like a confused passenger in his own story.

And don’t get me started on the so-called protagonist. Repetitive, irritating, and cartoonishly one-dimensional.

Honestly, I thought this novel would eventually introduce more "original protagonists, " deepen the power dynamics, or allow the characters to mature. But that never happens. The heroines’ personalities shift solely to fit the author’s convenience. The main conflict loops endlessly. It’s a frustrating and mindless cycle.

I went far — 300+ chapters — because I believed the story would do something with its setup. It never did. In fact, I’d go as far as to say the "villain" here is even dumber than the one from “I Transmigrated Into a Villain and All the Heroines in This Novel Have Systems?”, which is saying a lot.

If you're at chapter 30 or so and thinking, "This might get better, " please take this as a warning from someone who already walked the long, repetitive road: it doesn’t. It only gets worse. Save your time and move on. <<less

TLDR: I think the novel could be good for a casual read, but dont be expecting anything great. The novel is downright repetitive to its core with cliche plots and shallow developments. The harem members though not cardboard are indistinguishable clones of one another. The characters are one dimensional and have no character growth. The story is riddled with numerous logic/plots holes. Still, if you can deal with the repetitiveness and annoying characters, I think you can find the novel enjoyable enough to read somewhat deep before prob dropping.

Abbaddonyon reviewer says it all, the premise is interesting, but the author was unable to execute it. Though I wouldnt say the novel is unique, as these transmigrated villain novels where the heroines hear the inner thoughts of his seem... more>> like dime a dozen recently in villain novels.

The overall story in this book was interesting enough. The characters and background voices are pretty one dimensional and annoying, but it was something that made sense unlike a lot of other novels that do this. Why? Because the author of the novel here reincarnated into is crappy and cliche. So it made sense and something you can pass off easier, but it doesn't help the actual author is just as crappy as the original.

The author frequently forgets what they had just written a few paragraphs earlier. If it was a few chaps earlier at least I mightve not noticed, but the amount of logic holes inside this novel are insane. There are so many times a character states out one thing like

Spoiler

a government official had leaked out information of the land where the new city district would get developed, which he said in front of the whole crowd angrily confronting him when he announced the location was somewhere else; to which to he applogizes and says it got changed last second. But then a few paragraphs later when the protagonist verbally fights with our MC villain the protag cant mention this at all in order to not offend the governments higher ups nor to say he got insider information... when he literally yelled in front of all of them already and announced it?!?

[collapse]

The amount of shoddy artificial reversals like these were numerous, especially the farther you read. It doesn't help that all the plot developments are so shallow. Literally every plot point in this novel is a heavy cliche, as the villain MC is trying to follow the original novel's plot. This was enjoyable towards the start, but it is way too repetitive and low effort.

To me there are fundamental plot holes to the mc's reason to being a villain to. Its one of those Chinese novels where the reincarnation is completely brushed off as just a setting. He misses nothing about the original world, and as far as we can tell, he was a orphan with no family nor relationship. The only reward he gets is like a million dollars if he succeeds in following the plot. But he is far far richer in this novel, extremely privledged, powerful, has the wish fulfillment settings and still wants to go back. Even while enjoying the constant luxuries the author writes time and time again, he is willing to ditch all this and now his current relationships while dragging them to ruin; or at least he trys but always fails. It makes zero sense to me so the whole main plot is prettt shoddy.

There is no character growth anywhere either. The only character growth we got in the whole novel is the first female lead loving him in a few paragraphs. And this was the only portion of the book that felt enjoyable, as there was actual progression and plot. But after that is just constant braindead repetition of villain MC accidentally face slapping the novel protagonist everytime he gets a moment to show off.

Now let's talk about the harem. The girls? They are all literal clones. You can replace them with another name and background and they'd still all be the same. They have no actual distinction from one another. And unlike the first female lead who had mini development where she quickly fell in love, all the other girls after finding out they are in a novel world instantly fall in love with our protagonist and try to stick to him like glue. And 50ish chaps in there are already 3 main heroines with just as many side heroines. With it being a novel with hundreds of chaps, the harem is definitely gonna be bloat-wear. As again, they are clones of one another. A virus. The least I can give them is they aren't as made out of cardboard as jpn harem novels.

Final say? You could find it enjoyable, but it is repetitive to its core, and don't expect any deep plot, good for casual read though I think. <<less

This web novel has played quite the mind trick on me. Initially, I thought this was the original source for a tr*shy manhua named "Villain: The Heroine Overheard My Thoughts and Her Persona Collapsed, " which shares the exact same concept, and similar character names. However, that has its own web novel, and considering the writing of the manhua, I doubt it's much good. I'll be drawing some parallels between the two stories because of how this web novel did everything the other could not.

As for this story... it completely... more>> blew me out of the water. Unlike its tr*shy counter-part, the heroines are all memorable and introduced appropriately. None of them feel rushed or inserted into the story, and their progression with the main character is also smooth and natural. They don't immediately fall in love with the main character nor do they completely trust him. As such, there's genuine developments between them, and it makes for some rather heartwarming scenes with heroines that have previously hated him.

As for the heroines themselves, they all have distinct personalities and motives, making them feel unique compared to other harem story counterparts with a cardboard cut-out personality. Also, their interactions with the MC are pretty hilarious, considering the MC is having a mental breakdown every time they go against his plan.

Speaking of the main character, I wasn't too fond of him initially since he seemed apathetic to the world itself, but he develops pretty nicely into someone who is gradually falling in love with certain characters. He's a pretty comedic character, but he becomes more relatable and likable later in the story due to his developments.

I briefly touched on it, but the pacing is really good. No part of the story ever felt like filler or boring, and I was literally glued to my phone.

If there was a one nitpick, though, it would be the world-building. Not much of it is explained besides for there being cultivation, tycoons, and beauty rankings that randomly get mentioned, which you have to piece together yourself.

This is probably one of the better written harem stories out there, as no part of the story ever felt boring due to the uniqueness of the premise. Honestly, I'd dare say it's one of if not the best harem novel I've read, but that's not a high bar. On a side note, the premise by itself is entirely enjoyable since it adds a lot of humor, but it also adds a lot of character introspection due to the different perspectives and reactions. This ends up making some memorable and lovable moments that everyone should check out. If you love harems or "villain" stories, this is quite literally peak incarnate. <<less
