A wholesome novel with a good amount of pay-off, sweetness, and romantic development. I thought that I would have to turn off my brain to enjoy this but honestly it isn't bad at all, especially compared to the average slop of most novels like this. I really like the development with the brother-in-law/original MC. I was worried that there are 700+ chapters so it might be one of those novels that drags on for ages, but it seems from what I can tell that she is going to wake up... more>> in a fairly reasonable amount of time. It might be later than I would like, but I don't mind because the FL is getting better and even if she isn't completely healed, she can move her fingers to communicate with him (drawing on his hand, squeezing his hand and pinching him, etc.) and it's the cutest thing imo. A solid build-up is being done on both MC and FLs side as they wonder what life will be like when the FL wakes up, and I'm pretty invested.

My favourite part is probably that the FL is not immediately in love with the MC. Her character is really well done and they don't compromise on her confidence just to make the romance fluffy. That would have been such brain-dead writing given her condition.

In chapter 129, the MC even teases her that 'hey I am helping the family out so much, don't you think you should marry me?' and even though the FL has feelings for him, she draws an x on his hand because she does not know if they will still be close once she wakes up. I really adored that scene and the characterization.

Instead, her feelings are building up slowly as they spend time together and she watches the MC work to help her family. The MC, though he teases the FL a lot and publicly acts like a love-struck husband, is grappling with his own feelings for the FL- they can talk and such, but he actively works through whether he is simply grateful for her since the system is tied to her, or if he actually does love her. I adore that they both just feel like really good friends and instead of falling for the MC out of gratefulness or bad writing, the FL currently just feels like 'I guess I would not mind marrying him'. I can't wait until they admit they're actually in love <333.

I'm very impressed by the translator as well, they do a very good job. Don't take the novel too seriously, just enjoy the laughs and the sweetness. <<less

Even though it's not the first novel with this trope, it is entertaining.

Execution is also good, although rambling of canon fodder villains (like MC's father and half brother) seems too drawn out. I mean, why even let them talk so much in the first place when you are just going to face slap them?.

The time MC has wasted so far, listening to their pointless chatter could have earned him couple more thousands of points if he had spent it with the FMC.

I like that, the MC isn't antagonistic towards... more>> the OG protagonist. Because in some novels MC antogoinsizes the chosen ones (even though they have perfectly normal personality) not only because their system forces them but also because they want to collect the FMC (s) like they are pokémons, and it's not like I hate harem or anything but those kind of novels take such tropes to such an extreme extent that even if the story is engaging reading further becomes unbearable. <<less
