Normally I wouldn’t drop a novel used to pass time, but this one turned into a waste of time instead, lol. There’s just no depth here, be it in characters (all the characters, especially the MC, are not just shallow and ret*rded but annoying too), story, world building, power system or whatnot.

As you can guess just by looking at the number of chapters, things drag themselves (probably cause of money for word count or something like this) in idiotic cliches of “and everyone was impressed by how the MC is... more>> so powerful/intelligent/beautiful”, monologues of a new girl saying how she is envious of the MC girlfriend for having him and “why not her?” and the old thing of MC kills someone and the ancestor/patriarch/whatever appears to take revenge.

Now it seems a new plot about his main gf/wife being the reincarnation of a goddess will “develop”, and perhaps leaving for another world will show how exceptional his cultivation system of nine dragons is, but it will probably be done the same way all the story was and I just don’t care anymore, haha.

Alright. This novel is unintentionally or intentionally very unorthodox and interesting. When I started this, I thought that it was another wish-fulfillment stuff and I was not completely wrong. But hear me out, the way the story presents itself, its randomness and the journey itself is something extremely rare. The writing and style is simplistic but effective. The characters... well, let's not comment on that. But the antagonists aren't hateful. That's not to say that they're smart or have a backstory. No, just that they aren't hateful enough to grit... more>> your teeth in frustration.

With that being said, I have no complaints with the novel and would wholeheartedly continue the novel maybe because I got fascinated with the random element or simply because I had little expectations from it.

In a way, you can call this novel - "MGA but it's good". That's the best way I can describe it.

From an objective POV, it's about average and I can understand people for not liking it but the novel just doesn't let me drop. I tried dropping this a few times but whenever that happened, a sudden event would occur which changes my mind and I keep reading.

There are two things which are genuinely praiseworthy about this novel - it's pacing and lighthearted parts. They are genuinely good. <<less

I happen to like s*upidly OP protagonists with infinite no. Of ridiculously convenient cheats so I stuck through a couple of arcs of this novel but his attitude towards women is DISGUSTING af; he initially hooks up w 1 girl (Ke Er) in the most sleazy way possible but that would still be okay if he didn't proceed to continue sleazing all over every single other woman - literally EVERY other 'hot' girl who appears; all of whom are 'in love' and emotionally attached to him. Harem novels, esp in... more>> this genre, are the norm, but most of them have protags that treat the women w some modicum of dignity, this guy is so extremely disgusting about it it's nauseating - AND THATS NOT EVEN GETTING INTO ALL THE SEXUALISATION OF MINORS AND SEXUALLY DESCRIPTIVE PASSAGES STRESSING ON THE PRE-PUBESCENT NATURE OF THE BODY PARTS INVOLVED, like, genuinely revolting. <<less

I don't typically read these types of novels but I can say that I thoroughly enjoy this one.

If you are thinking of reading it, I don't think you will be disappointed. A lot of the reviews say that the MC has too much plot armor and I disagree. He has plot armor but that's a given with any type of MC you can't just kill your MC and expect to write a story. The MC does do some crazy things that may make you think he is being dumb but... more>> it adds a lot of interesting twists to the story and makes you want to keep reading. You will "love to hate" the MCs enemies and it will be so very satisfying when he eventually kills them. Highly recommend this novel, it's a very good read in my opinion and will make you very attached and curious what's going to happen next. If I could read the raw I'd be caught up to the 3000+ chapters it has, unfortunately I can't so I read the translated text as they are released but it is always something I look forward to after a long day of school or work. If you have read to here I think you should take all these negative reviews with a grain of salt and give this novel a try.

It's very interesting. And this is much better in comparison with top list. Adequate harem + pleasant romance plot. I love this MC cos he's not ordinary chinese MC. There's no irritating "brother-sister" expressions, also MC doesn't bow to every random gaffer or granny. And it's so refreshing! Battles there are kind of boring and cultivation hasn't something new, but this type of MC..... He is canny, clever, moderately cold-blooded and he cares his sublings. So, highly recommended for reading

Well, the others said it. Ridiculous and cliché, just plain boring, not to mention extremely unbelievable and forced. On qidian, it receives quite a high score and is high up on the popular novel list (But then again, so is novels like that "superstar" novel where the author is a raging xenophobic racist, makes his MC creepy as f*ck, not to mention extremely boring, repetitive and the faceslapping is a copy-paste of normal cultivation novel faceslapping, but without believable elements, in the end being so boring I dropped it after... more>> a few dozen chapters, but it somehow managed to get into top 5, what a world we live in), but they're never that accurate, novelupdates is the way to go if you want proper information to let you decide whether or not you want to read a novel.

... So, don't read this. A novel at 3/5 stars on novelupdates just isn't worth picking up, it should AT LEAST have around 3.5-3.9 before you pick it up. <<less

If you are a teenager with tons of time to burn then I could see you reading this. Even then, I would recommend to do something better with your time. This series is just super mediocre. Nothing interesting or new. Shallow characters, plot, cultivation, etc.... There is no inspiration in this. Whoever wrote it just wanted some cash from readers.

One of the best novels here. MC is awesome and I love the fact that he brings his partners in his next adventures not like most MC where they part with their love ones to go adventure. Hope he continues to bring them along his adventures. I also hope that update stability will atleast stay the same and not decrease.

I also found a lot of the same things irritating as the others that gave it poor reviews. Cliches, s*upid behavior, unbelievable romantic progression, etc. The thing that stuck out to me though was how dumb the back-story was. He was a special forces agent, but then had a crisis of conscience after some of his subordinates died, and then became a mercenary who not only succeed at every single mission but also hunted down and killed anyone that tried to order a mission against China's interests. The backstory alone... more>> is a horrid pile of crap, and he relies on it constantly. <<less

Novel is not bad, it's in line with novels of this type. I don't like a few things about the novel though

1 - The MC is too ruthless without caring for repercussions. Legit crippled a bunch of people already, thats the first thing he did the moment he gained cultivation as well.

2 - He already has a 'future wife' few chapters in, it was some homeless girl that was selling her body on the street to bury her mom. I don't like that. ... more>>

Checked the wiki and she is obviously from some prestigious family obviously... Probably incoming arc where she goes away to her powerful clan and he's weak and ridiculed by her clan members then he trains hard and eventually saves her from some marriage idk haha.

3 - MC doesn't use his knowledge efficiently, he has extinct knowledge about alchemy/inscriptions, but he sells them for basically nothing to others cause apparently the money he will need for his cultivation is a 'bottomless pitt' but he couldn't use his brain for some reason to create pills and auction them same goes for these pill recipes. He sold I believe 2 extinct alchemy recipes for 100.000 silver (yes, not even gold.) He also sold a guy lessons on how to do inscriptions for 1, 000 silver. (no one knows how to do inscriptions anymore and if they do it's some super low level stuff.)

4 - Typical situation where every guy and his father lust for MC's wifes/lovers, every time he goes somewhere someone has to lust over his girl and they get in a fight. Sometimes he kills them, some times he cripples them, sometimes he just beats them up. Naturally then they come back with their older senior brother, their elder, or powerful father or their clan/sect finds out and comes after him for revenge. It gets so annoying, obviously this is a 2014 cultivation novel stuff like this is pretty standard back then, it's also very common for the intelligence of these characters to be extremely low for some reason. Problem is I know this is going to be a reoccuring theme and eventually he is going to hit a hard plate. The writing in this novel is very amateurish, it can be forgiven assuming this is the author's first novel and it's made in 2014, but I really hope by the time I am 50% of the way with this novel the writing improves by 1000x.

I will read this to completion or at the very least until I can't handle it anymore so at least a few thousand chapters in. I will not rate it until then. But so far it's pretty standard. <<less

MC is just swaggering around with an ultimate treasure, killing offenders and doesn't even try to hide his face, then his family and friends suffer from retaliation. And it repeats and repeats... He doesn't even try to use any of brain cells he supposedly should have as an adult human being.

The MC is an idiot with no personality. His mother is the only good character and his little girlfriend is relegated to being embarrassed and saying "yes young master" only. He is s*upidly arrogant and his story before Reincarnation is boring and s*upid. There is not one good character outside of the mother, everyone else is arrogant, violent, and s*upid. The MC could have just sat in his house for a few months and powerup plus avoided many problems. Why do all Chinese novels sound like they are written by middle school dropouts. Atleast use some common sense in your material.

Looking at a beautiful girl from top to bottom just to realise that she has a bick.

I can't even begin to describe what I am feeling right now... I give up on this novel.

Not worth it. When I realised that this novel has more than 4k chapters and is still ongoing I got really scared.

MC: Three lifetime of experience might make a dumb guy into smart one but MC goes dumb dumber and further.

What a waste of time this novel has been. It's really frustrating. They shoved so much concept and info that I just hit back and deleted it. It's not written well at all. Sincere demand to author just stop ffs just stop.

It's really hard to empathize with the hero. The world doesn't predispose to the level of cruelty that he shows.

  • There is a chapter that describes the wages of the elders (2 level of power) as 20 silver/month. And their livelong capital as 1000. But in chapter 47 they farmed in forest few mobs (during 1 level of power) and got about 1, 300+ silver.
  • Mother must be pretty s*upid to not notice the extent of her son's changes.
  • The appearance of a female lead is pretty illogical. Her beauty causes conflicts regulary (I think it was the main purpose to add this character). But at the same time before meeting the hero she was selling herself for 10 silver.

Had to stop at this point because MC doesn't learn, 99% of conflict so far has been because someone likes his girl based on a first sight, instead of having them stay safe and cultivate to a stronger point MC brings them on journeys where there are bunch of people with strong background lusting after his harem. They don't even wear masks and when they do it doesn't work, MC is supposed to be like a skilled secret agent but he doesn't act like it. Pretty typical example of a web novel that exhibits what I like to think of as a "conflict driven" plot. There is very little plot involved outside of the MC advancing through the world and reacting to everyone and their brother trying to kill him because he's so outstanding. Not necessarily a bad thing but by c500 it went stale for me. Really the only major positive about this web novel is that, if you're into this style of novel, there are a ton of chapters.

A novel that has a foolish MC. That is all I can really say about this novel. The MC is a fool. I myself can plot his death very easily. Step 1: DO background checks on MC and capture his women. Step 2: threaten MC that she will be killed if he doesnt come. Step 3: Plot a proper trap for the MC. Step 4: kill the MC by using his woman as a shield. Step 5: Retrieve his corpse and benefit from his treasures. Done and dusted Ling Tian... more>> is history.

Now you might be wondering why I wrote such a plan to kill him. I will tell you this, it is because majority of his emnity comes from his women. 1st wife is taken by so and so. "Okay she can temper herself and wait for me to slaughter my way into the sect."

2nd wife has been robbed by a young genius and will be wedded to him soon. "Ohh thats alright. I will crash their wedding and kill him later. It really is no problem.

3rd wife is forcefully taken as a disciple. "Allgood, she can train and get stronger. I will kill her master for trying to use my wife as a bargaining chip. No problem."

4th wife loses her memories and goes missing. "Oh its allgood. Even if she loses all her memories. She wont forget me because of plot. Oh wait she forgot her dad who she was with her the most? Author sama do something about that. You cant get me cucked man. No worries plot says she will forget her name and family but remember the pretty boy.

So there you have it folks. Thats majority of how arcs develop. The MC is motivated by his women being robbed from him and him being powerless to stop it. It gets repetetive fast and he hasnt learnt his lesson. It reminds me of that movie Taken where Liam neeson has his daughter kidnapped for three movies straight. This was only because that movie franchise did excellent and they needed to make sequels. I cant say the same for war sovereign. In fact all wuxia have that "women randomly taken by an expert which inturn requires MC to save her" only for her to get taken again. This should be done ONLY ONCE. Not one time for every woman he has.

So now back to how I would deal with him. My plan is perfect and any competent villain would also adopt this approach. After all they have already decided to rob him of his women, might as well go all out.

Thats pretty much the only major fault I have with this novel. I am wanting a novel with an MC who has ambitions that are greater than "i want to reunite with my missing woman." and then we he reunited with them, he spends a few moments with them and lo and behold a balloon tragedy appears. (Something that appears huge but is rather weak) exactly his women being robbed. Being treated with respect and ONLY when the MC is near do the villains feel like "hey this girl is soo pretty, I think I might have fun with her" coincidentally they were busy and not h**ny for all those months or years they had abducted his woman. But only when the MC is around do they make a move. Pretty laughable tbh.

Also another thing, this MC or I should say author is rather ridiculous.

Two women who fell in love with the MC and decided to follow his parents back to their faction finally reunite with the MC. They fell in love with him many years ago back in the lower realms. Now he reunited with them what does he do? He feels guilty in not loving them back, literally he admits he has no feelings for them. But since they decided to follow his mother and take care of her because of their love for MC (even though at most you can call it a crush) Now he meets them and despite having like 3 wives and a fiancee with most of them missing or kidnapped. He tells them pretty much, " if you still love me I will love you back. But if you dont love me then thats best." Again, I am no expert in love or anything. But if some fangirls had a crush on me and I already had 3 women. Then why the heck would I be guilt tripped into loving them. If he wanted to reward them for the loyalty towards his mother (despite her not being old/sick and in fact a powerful cultivator) his mother didnt really need them to do anything for her. At most she provided them an oppurtunity to cultivate peacefully while waiting for their crush to return. The problem isnt in them, its in his weak mindset. I will accept them if they still love me and if they dont I will take them as sisters. Now my problem with this is you cant be a famous figure and be guilt tripped into loving some basic cute girls. After all, every famous person has countless admirers. Just because someone fan crushes you doesnt mean you have to love them. I mean look at the young famous men of today, how many crazy fan girls do they have. Do they owe them a debt of love? Lol. If it was Duan Ling Tian, he would have the largest harem in the world with all his female fans guilt tripping him into marrying him lol.

Overall a boring read with nothing special. Only thing thats special is probably harem is more decent than other novels. Fights are decent, MC is rather average with his talent but has alot of treasures and relies on plot armor. <<less

There is nothing interesting about the story. I could tell this from chapter 1. The whole system is tr*sh. In WSSTH, at each level, you have a certain amount of strength, and when you attack that strength is displayed about your head, this applies for all levels (most dumb idea ever by the way, because this is not a game.) The characters in this novel apparently also trust and wholly believe, that when someone attacks and it displays their strength, it will always be their maximum strength... So for example,... more>> if I attack at 20 kg to kill a person, they will assume it was my max strength instead of what was necessary to kill. Therefore, a lot of characters are brain-dead just from this one simple problem. Also the plot is extremely repetitive; every plot makes you feel like, "lets just get this plot done with so we can get something interesting going on" and then its never interesting. Would not suggest this even to waste time, there are better novels for that. <<less

To be entirely honest here the story in its self isn’t that bad at the beginning just a little cliche. But it gets ridiculous.

[so honestly the MC gets two girls so far both have no reason to be emotionally attached to him but he’s the MC. One of the first things that happens is he almost gets possessed by some super powerful expert. Only reason why the possession didn’t work is cause MC reincarnated so his souls is to powerful, the expert and experienced reincarnation two times and his souls... more>> was vastly superior. He has all the expert memories only uses a cultivation technique makes no effort to find a top tier sword technique instead try’s to perfect sword draw, thinking that’s all he needs. For some reason the MC is pretty adamant that the emperor stage is the peak but wants to surpass it. He also gains a technique that should be impossible till king stage which is at least another 300 chapters. The MC legit only uses this illusion technique for a solid 400-500 chapters and goes to extreme detail on how humiliated people are when falling into illusions. Cause no one knows what it is cause only top experts can do them. If your into an MC who gets transported randomly even when something important is happening this is your MC. Bug things happening that we enjoy nope get transported for a 150 chapter long arc that no one enjoys.] all in all tho story is the definition of tr*sh. <<less
