Wen Jianyan was a fraudster that was best at deceiving people.

One day, he was suddenly forced to become a novice anchor in the Nightmare live broadcast room.

Wen Jianyan: “…..”

A newcomer became the most-watched anchor because he was too good at deceiving people.

He lied to his teammates to deceive the audience and NPCs. He could deceive people as well as ghosts.

Sooner or later this guy will overturn!

There were more and more spectators who were gloating with schadenfreude, looking forward for that day.

But…why was the mission in this live room getting more and more strange?

【Senior anchor’s side quest: Kiss the evil spirit for 30 seconds】

【Reward: Unknown】

【Top anchor’s main quest: Undress the evil god for three minutes】

【Reward: Unknown】

Audience: Oh, the streamer has mastered a new wealth code? Hurry up, there’s something our paying viewers can’t watch!

The top boss approached step by step, whispering temptations:

“How is it? Frying CP*? We can make the fake thing real.”

Wen Jianyan: “…..”

I’m sorry, I’m very principled, thank you for not deceiving yourself.

— Don’t come here!

*Frying CP means pretending to be a couple.

THANKS TO MORFZINE'S REVIEW! Honestly attracted me to read this after reading the review! I wholly agree with what they said lol! I'll probably MTL the rest, dunno yet but this novel is honestly so good hahaha! I personally find it rare to find an MC like this. Not that I hate other MCs but finding one so vehemently refusing to fall in love. Always take advantage of others, even willing to want to kill the ML. Can't say you hate him because he'll make you LOVE him. Seriously recommend!

Initial arcs are so fun and exciting, especially the first one and second one - so spooky! However, the ML really sucks in this.

At first, I thought it couldn't be that bad like the reviews said. I've read many different MLs that are slightly possessive and jealous and bloodthirsty! But, this ML is a league on his own - especially when you get to the Ping An Sanatorium arc. What a circus, unless you enjoy a crowd of yandere all vying for your attention.

I really hope the arcs don't violently... more>> focus on the ML like this one. It was more interesting when they were independent stories that the MC could handle like thinly connected mysteries. I don't like how the worlds have started to pit him as soon as the npc/ML lays eyes on him instead of indiscriminate focus on all players until MC digs a pit himself. Because that's understandable. ML being a possessive creepy yandere god is not cool. <<less

Wowwee! This novel kind of reminds me of another infinite flow survival novel, but based on my foggy memories, it seems that this novel has more detail. And thus, is more likable! Of course, because I read mostly MTL, there's no telling how off my actual initial impression is. However, there's no doubt that I enjoyed the novel quite a bit, and I'm looking forward to rereading it in the future (hopefully with the TL further along QAQ).

Summary: The MC (Wen Juanyan) is a fraudster that ended up being dragged... more>> into "Nightmare Live." Nightmare Live is a organization that captures souls from reality and forces them to survive through various inhumane, horror/survival instances for the sake of the audience's entertainment. As a fraudster, the MC stands out by beating everyone back with lies. However, it soon becomes very clear that fate is not very kind to him — not only is he being constantly dragged into doing the most extreme mission tasks, there's also a mysterious evil entity following him every step of the way ;)

Things to watch out for! This is a slow romance, so don't expect any progress any time soon. The author teases a bit with some big moves right away, but in reality, all the MC wants is the ML death LOL And this goes on for a loooong time. This is also not a team-building kind of infinite flow project. The MC shines as an individual, and the people around him are often just tools to make certain things more convenient (although he does care more than he admits). I like that the author switches things up rather than constantly drawing on the "fraudster" trick. There's always something new and exciting within the instances, and each one is their own detailed world (like seriously, these instances can go on forever sometimes!).

All in all, definitely worth the read! The MTL is also not bad if you plug the raw directly into GT. Though you will have to purchase the rights to all the available chapters to read the story without disruptions (the author puts up a lot of false chapters to prevent pirating.) I won't be giving it an official rating for now, because I most of what I read is in MTL XD and idk how long this text will actually be. But based on what I've read. This already a fave for me. Probably 4.5+! So 5 stars in all~ <<less

I love the MC, the supporting cast, and the concept for all the different horror instances they go to. Half the time I was laughing and smiling at the MC's antics, and the other half I was hiding under my blankets and looking around my room to make sure there weren't any ghosts around.

What I'm not a big fan of: the ML. Dangerous, violent, possessive, overpowered - one wrong step and it's over. Literally. The ML just exists to make the MC's life a million times harder. And

Spoiler

the MC f*cking hates the ML. Everything he does is some sort of convoluted master plan to finally defeat the ML. 300 chapters later, he actually succeeds, but suddenly the MC is IN LOVE with him??? You've got to be f*cking kidding me.

[collapse]

Okay, I said that I love the MC, but it really ticks me off when he doesn't work with his teammates. Oh, all his minions have a role to play, but often the MC doesn't bother explaining his thought process to them at all. I swear if another "just trust me" comes out of MC's mouth I'm going to slide off my chair, flop onto the floor, and perish. <<less

It's still an ongoing series, thus my review and ratings might change.

MC is a charming fraudster in real life which is the background for his intelligence and ability to solve and take advantage of any situation. He's in no way a brave person, he's really scared of ghost but manage to stay calm and think during critical situation. Well mostly I like the way he's able to scam everyone (including ghost) and that's also what makes this story interesting. MC is not a purely kind person, doesn't trust easily, but... more>> he appreciates loyalty. People also stay with him because even though he's a fraudster, they knew they can trust their life on him.

ML, there's not much to say about his personality as there's lack in background story. For now, I can said he still doesn't have enough empathy like a normal human being, hopefully not in the future. He has a goal and MC kinda unluckily need to assist him to obtain his goals.

The instances itself are very interesting to me although it's long. It's scary, complex and full of mystery. Sometimes, the closer MC got in clearing an instance, the harder it gets. 5.0 stars for now as this story made me waiting for updates every day. I recommend it for the MC personality and the instances. <<less

Before, I saw terribly boring horror novels, where MC is getting through by lucky breakes and being pulled by ghost/god-ML. Well, now I guess I found the other side of the spectrum. And it isn't any better! QAQ

I always knew that MC is a dirty little liar who lies (witch absolutely has its own charm) . But somehow I hoped that ML would be an exception.

And that's terribly sad because I'm really enjoying his escapades. But I don't think that I could ever believe my romantic partner after all of... more>> that.

And yeah-yeah, ML isn't a human, he is an eldritch monster who is pretty surprised by concert of emotions. But I just... don't vibe with their dynamic.

So I don't really know how to rate it. It has brilliant plot but (at least to this point) pretty disappointing romance <<less

My actual rating would be 3.5/5 (I read 4 arcs for now)

Pros:

-Strong MC (even though he’s actually a coward).

... more>> -Humour pretty good.

-Each instance has a very detailed and entertaining plot.

-MC’s “followers” are quite likable and their story is actually more or less explained.

Cons:

-We know that MC is the best looking ever and ML is super duper mega mysterious with a nearly beastly like yet beautiful appearance, no need to continuously praise them with (at least in the translation) always the exact same vocabulary. Like, I’m sorry but we get how handsome MC is, how white his skin is and how well proportioned he is... And how scary yet handsome ML is with his golden eyes and blabla.

Spoiler

-Plot armor is a bit too much. MC indeed struggle but Oh! Dear! Because he’s a fraudster he has like a billions talents so he always guess what’s gonna happen next and make the necessary preparation and he’s so good at understanding others that he can always find the rights words, he’s NEVER wrong.

-It irks me how the audience calls him wife right from the beginning. He doesn’t give bottom vibes at all so... yea.

-Romance is non-existant and I’m not sure how the author will make them fall in love with each other. On one side, MC wants to kill ML and on the other, ML wants to eat (literally yes) MC. Although I do not mind an enemy-to-lover plot, in this novel, I feel no chemistry at all. Whenever the MC and ML have a scene together, I can’t wait for it to be over as it feels so forced. I genuinely think that Sang Wo just wants them to interact to justify that “this is the CP”. I don’t know, personally I’d prefer if the ML didn’t exist or wasn’t some evasive existence who kind of copy past his actions from one arc to another (Waking up, being praised to heaven by the author, scaring MC, being hungry for MC, getting played by MC).

-I also have to say, the ML is bland af. My man has no personality besides “I’m Hungry and I wanna eat him but for some reason Im still not eating him so I stay hungry and I still somehow believe his BS even though I know he’s lying to me”. I really don’t get why he didn’t eat MC yet because, honestly, he’s portrayed as an all mighty evil god who do NOT care about anything and is for some reason trapped into the system. In the first 2 instances (which last nearly 100 chapters), he has no reasons not to immediately eat the MC: first one, he just follows his instincts so why does he bother listening to MC, and the second one, he’s getting played by MC yapping even though all he thinks about is eating him. It’s only in the third arc that there’s an actual valid reason for him not to eat the MC: he makes him his bishop and thus gives him the task of retrieving his fragments, the deal being of him not eating the MC if he succeed...

I don’t know if what I said was clear enough but in short: ML’s attitude until the third arc makes no sense. It’s just the plot armor that makes MC able to survive their encounter so... Not my preference but it’s just a personal dislike on my end.

First off, this is definitely one of the best unlimited flow/horror webnovels I've ever read. Read this if you have not already!!

The MC is intriguing, he's cunning and manipulative, able to get what he wants by charming those around him. On the other hand, he's a coward at heart, and he vomits after confronting a ghost and acting calm. This contradictory aspect of him gives the webnovel a humorous tone. Not only that, he's always acting as various NPC characters, even pretending to be a member of the opposite team.... more>> Really makes me laugh, especially when he gets exposed.

The plot is really well thought out, each arc is long, especially when compared to other, typical unlimited flow webnovels. Each arc is unique, and I find myself remembering the plot of each arc, even after months. Fun fact, the second arc, with the

fascinated me so much I reread it three times. I'm surprised each time MC finally reveals the mysteries of each arc, it's always something unpredictable.

Other than the horror elements, this webnovel also shows a shockingly humane side of the characters in general. The MC, even though he chose to do so because of manipulative reasons, inadvertently save people. In the arc about

frogs, seeing the characters react to Lilith regaining sanity to sacrifice herself and save them was really emotional.

Not much to say about the ML, he seems to be a psycho, all-powerful figure as of now. His relationship with MC is certainly one full of tension, that's all I can say. The romance is definitely slow-burn, so don't rush to read this webnovel expecting them to be lovey-dovey. It's quite literally the opposite. <<less

Its fantastic. Be prepared for a slowburn romance though. Its a horror with comedic undertones. The comedy is amazing, and primarily the reason why I'm reading this story.

The second reason why is the world building, puzzles and the characters. The author's ability to write engaging characters is phenomenal.

The good guys, the bad guys, the ghosts, all the characters are a pleasure to read. The plot is fantastic.

... more>> I'm not a fan of horror, and this story has really made me realise just how quiet my house really is lol.

The horror goes hard. Maybe I'm just a coward, like the MC, but the horror is very intense and well written.

The ML is a bastard, but what do you expect from an evil ghost God?

All in all, I would reccomend this book 100%, to everyone, and I have reccomended it to my friends as well. Which I kind of regret because I gave them the highlights, and I am afraid they might have been a little misled... Hoping they don't look at me weird tomorrow lol.

On a final note, the translator is so, so good at what they do. I am so thankful that they picked up this novel to translate. <<less

Quick review: Lots of action, not much romance but the characters are good and not a Mary Sue MC, I guess you could say that he's kind of "overpowered MC" but the "overpower" comes from the intelligence.

So, the long review:

[collapse]

The plot is interesting, so it's easy to keep reading even after 200 chapters.

So, the characters:

MC:

Spoiler

MC is a liar, a really big one, quite manipulative and intelligent, he's not a bad guy, but he won't mind if someone dies around him if that person didn't gave him any benefit, but he's still somewhat gentle with his teammates, he's also really charismatic, and a big scaredy-cat even when he doesn't show his fear and values his life more than anything. So far I don't think we've been able to see anything from his past so, there's not much to say in that aspect.

[collapse]

ML:

Spoiler

ML, we don't know much about him, he's the kind of ML that appears in multiple instances and is kind of in a lot of pieces, yeah, that type -if you have read more QT/Infinite Flow I think you will know what I'm talking about- and for now I think that what he most feels is lust for MC. He's a god but he's been awaken by the MC and he's restoring his power little by little with each instance, but that doesn't mean that is a "happy cooperation" in between MC and ML, if MC has helped ML to recover has mostly been by accident, because MC doesn't really have any soft feelings towards him so far.

Not that much chemistry and interaction as of ch 160. Its nice that you get to look forward ml's appearance at the end of the instance but only for like 2 chapters, its dragging as each instance gets longer and longer but no tension. Author usually write op MC and background ML that makes everything amooth sailing. Too long.

Honestly, so far I am enjoying the instances, they follow stereotypical type of plot settings such as hospitals and schools but in this novel the author is able to make it their own type of plot in their own unique way.

The main character is honestly very likable, your typical fraudstar/great actor/believer/bishop/scammer type of role. The way the author portrays him is also very interesting, despite his appearance making him seemingly confident and able to escape any dangers. He's actually very cowardly, and has a weak mentality.

However, I dislike the fact... more>> that the author makes him to special? (Idk how to describe it) everybody thinks hes pretty, smart and like way too OP. It gets bothersome sometimes, when the author constantly describes his amazing looks and has to mention it frequently to the point where it bothers the readers (or maybe just myself..) . Also, the fact that hes so smart even though some of the things he's doing is literally common sense and is not too hard to decipher from the clues given. (He kind of has plot armor too) Additionally, his personality is very confusing, due to his nature of acting it's difficult to figure out what he's actually like.

On the otherhand, the male lead, which is shown to be an evil God that is sealed away. Is honestly like a factor used to intensify the plot or situation and he mainly shows up at the climax or the end of the instance. Dont get me wrong, I LOVE BL, I read alot of unlimited bl novels and those novels have portrayed and used romance in the plot very well. However, in this novel, the romance seems forced, its not even romance so far. MC wants to kill ML, ML wants to eat MC type of relationship. Its difficult to imagine a relationship coming from this, but im guessing the relationship is going to be a forced type. Honestly I feel like this novel is better off without romance, but with just bromance or enemies. <<less

Honestly, I was skeptical about how much I would like this novel because I'm someone very invested in relationships (whether platonic, familial or romantic) and at first the vibes between MC and ML were... unique. But then I took a break after 3rd arc and came back again, started reading from the beginning. This time I had more focus to spare, and this novel does not let you down. It's everything. Perhaps it's not your cup of tea in terms of tropes or trope reversals but, this is so well... more>> written -from character setting to character growth to the plot and the intricate weaving of everything. It's a 100/100. You would think it'd get boring with so many instances but no, it's just. There's a theme underlying everything that makes the readers keep guessing. Not to mention, some of these are really f*cking scary too. Regardless, I hope everyone gives it a chance. <<less

Spoiler

I absolutely love how shameless the MC is. He will do whatever it takes to survive including acting calmly despite being the opposite and fooling everyone even the NPCs and ghosts.

And yet despite scamming everyone to survive, he doesn't hesitate to help people despite there being low benefits. Even though his thoughts and beliefs are simply him just using them, he still helps them survive by sacrificing his own safety and masking it with his shamelessness. While yes, he is undoubtedly a scammer, he's mostly a coward so him sacrificing his own safety every time something bad happens says a lot about his personality. It's why I don't completely believe him whenever he says he just uses people for his own benefit. In short, he's a mix of selfish and selfless.

The way he wins is simply mind-boggling. I feel surprised every time he does something that requires simple common sense and I would think "why did I not think of that?!" His methods are either crazy and suicidal or so simple that it makes you feel embarrassed that you didn't think of it.

Like that one time he used his phone to record the bells attached to the ghosts so he can walk past them without alerting them during a hide and seek scene.

The only OP about him is his sharp memory and luck, to be honest. But even his luck is 50/50 because most of the time, he has the worst luck in the whole game.

[collapse]

I've read a couple of horror novels in the past and this is one of the best in my opinion. The MC is so entertaining and I can't help but cheer for him despite him being shameless.

ML:

Spoiler

So far, I don't have much opinion about the ML since he doesn't seem to be showing much personality so far. I hope to see more of him and his interactions with MC in the future.

And so far, MC is pretty much afraid of the ML because of how intense he is. I wonder how their relationship will develop.

[collapse]

Instances:

Spoiler

The author also makes a lot of interesting concepts. The author writes all these rules and scenarios that makes everything completely unexpected. You need to read between the lines of the rules to understand what you should and shouldn't do. Even now, I still feel in awe at how amazing the author is to be able to create these interesting ideas.

My favorite is the amusement park instance since I had a hard time knowing how the MC will win or survive under those heavy circumstances. It's one of those instances where everything seems impossible. It's one of the moments when I felt scared for the MC and the rest of the characters.

I don't feel much about the third arc though. The instance about the Antai community does have a good plot twist but it's a bit messy compared to the first two arcs, the school and hospital instances. It also requires some cultural knowledge (aside from the bagua that we have here in our country) that I don't know much about so I was a bit confused on some parts in that arc. But I still like how the MC completely destroyed that part. Even now, I don't know what the hell is going on with the MC's brain to be able to think of that solution with so many disadvantages. It makes me feel bad for the system for just a little bit (lmao).

[collapse]

All in all, 5 stars since the author makes the arcs and characters really interesting. <<less

It's really good! It's rare for me to fall in the horror escape pit. This one is interesting, fresh plot. MC is a professional liar and very.. Smartass. Until now his lie always be real. And for the genre like this of course the ML is the big boss in the game. So far, the romance thing still like the enemy an the target. MC Want to kill ml, ML want to eat MC. ML still don't understand what the meaning of his feeling and his attachment. He is still... more>> like a monster with lack of humanity feeling. And MC still think ML hunt his soul to eat. I guess he is right for now. As for how ML eat MC, I guess we'll waiting a lil bit long in the future chapter. I just read until 3rd arc, it's kinda slow burn but it's fun. Definitely my favourite/one of the best infinite flow stories I’ve read. MC is a joy to read about, and I think I cackle at his antics at least once every three chapters.

Side characters are shockingly well rounded, fun additions to the cast, and not just carry-on baggage!

I will admit, with MC’s... unique experience with the different worlds, I am curious as to what the ‘normal’ ‘safe’ route to success in these worlds look like. Probably something much less interesting, but still! All the side characters have gotta to have survived... more>> til now somehow, right?

The overall world also has several mysteries I am keen to see resolved, from the identity of the audience, to the ML’s identity, to how (and if) each world interconnects, and their connection to the real world. Definitely recommend.
