This one gets DARK. Pay attention to the content warnings.

I love how the author wasn't being preachy nor perfunctory with the treatment of depression. With every arc, we are shown the many different ways a person's depression can manifest, how it changes them, and how different people react to it differently. We also see how much work is needed to get out of it.

The logic and setups of the worlds were also varied. I can't say they were masterfully set up since there were indeed times when the author had... more>> to rely on plain narration either to speed up everything or to tie up all the clues together. But despite that, the times when the MC is still gathering clues and trying to figure out the situation were still engaging.

Another thing I really enjoyed was the interaction between the system and the MC. I love how they started from two confused people to becoming best friends. The system wasn't OP and it didn't need to be, because what the MC was also a friend who could sustain him while he goes out to save the ML. <<less

Aaah, this story is so good!!! It has it's fair share of angst, but both the MC and ML are interesting characters, and the plot is also exciting despite the fact that the main focus is still on the feelings (both normal and romantic). Also, this is the first novel I've read where the transmigrating MC actually goes to therapy after being traumatized. I can't wait to find out every little backstory detail! So exciting!

The novel is very good. To be honest, for a moment I wished the the 1st Arc was a complete and independent story. Unfortunately, it has some flaws because is just a quick Arc. Just like the 2nd Arc; it could've been more intriguing (and complete) if it was an independent story.

The system is not an annoying little prick or a dumb coquette system. He's like a coworker and a face-con slash obsessed with CP and yellow material LMAO

I honestly believe the System is the readers' representative in the novel... more>> 🤣🤣🤣 it says exactly what I think lolololol

I really like MC and Tong's friendship, it doesn't feel forced.

A little spoiler about the MC

Spoiler

The MC has a tragic past. Like for real 😭 his parents were total shit, I hate them so much. Although he is cheerful and upbeat, deep down he's already numb. He has abandonment issues and it took a lot of time to understand that ML really likes him and won't abandon him for his flaws (limp leg, "s*upid" brain, he didn't go to college etc) . It really take us for surprise when the System discovers that MC also has depression and the vitality index is worse than ML, but this doesn't even show on MC's face. Depression is an invisible illness, you never know who's on the edge of su*cide : (

[collapse]

I do recommend to take a break between the Arcs because it address heavy topics such as depression, su*cide, sexism, mu*der, gore, human trafficking, cyberbullying, s*xual harassment, r*pe, gang r*pe, domestic violence, parental negligence, pe*ophilia. Fortunately, the author doesn't romanticize any of this themes. They treated as it is. I'm glad the su*cide is also treated as a depression symptom. There's no theatrical antics or romantic text about how it's a liberation blablabla. And fortunately, the moral compass of both MC and ML are online. Although it sometimes fluctuates to a grey moral area 👀; they uphold justice in the end. The beat the sh*t ou the bad guys. So I'm satisfied. The second Arc made me sick, uncomfortable, nauseous in some parts of the text. I was so glad everything was well in the end. But it triggered a lot of my trauma. So be careful when reading it.

***The translation is very good and I appreciate the trigger warnings every time a new Arc begins 🫂👏🏽 <<less

An ambitious book--I felt the writer had some very big topics they wanted to shine the light on. It's just that to shine the light, they had to make everything in the shadows so very dark. I don't mind horror, or gore, but there's a huge focus on s*xual assault in each arc. Reducing S/A to this story's short hand for the worst case scenario feels lazy and flippant. S/A happens in real life. The threat of it shouldn't be used so casually in fiction, in my opinion. Other than... more>> that, the book is a good read; there is an overall plot, and each arc is well considered. The MC and ML are likeable, and their relationship is sweet. 4.0 stars. <<less

The characters are so cute and funny. And even though the story is mostly dark themed it never forgets makes me smile. Both the ML and MC are really understanding and sweet.

Such a refreshing novel. Every arc is interesting and unique. I love MC and ML a LOT. They look pretty nice even when crying together. To be honest I really liked the plot of worlds in general. Especially the one where MC was a white ball like thing. The plot of that world was just wild. It could've been made into a whole another novel with a lot of world building. Anyways I enjoyed it a lot.

A good read! Had some flaws, but it was enjoyable.

The MC and ML are great. They have interesting personalities, and the MC isn't a wimp. The ML isn't a rock or toxic. The side characters, however, aren't as fleshed out. Still, the MC+ML and their relationship carry the novel. The MC might've been a bit too cutesy at times when coaxing the ML, but he was still living up to his blonde-dyed delinquent hair lol. The ML is sweet despite literally being suicidal every time they meet. He's OP, but... more>> that doesn't make the story boring because pure combat power can't solve everything they face.

The worldbuilding/plot is also pretty good! Very creative. I think it gets a bit convoluted at times though. For example, I didn't like World 3 because I felt like the author was trying to do twist after twist etc. Intricate worldbuilding is a pro, but I think the author went a little overboard at times. Also, the author did a lot of "tell, not show, " but I think that wasn't completely bad since it helped with the pacing. Summarizing 50+ years of life is a lot more easy on the readers than actually writing it out. I also appreciate how it cleared things up for me, but "tell, not show" isn't the greatest writing style, haha.

For a novel about preventing su*cide, it wasn't depressing. It had dark themes, but the MC was a ball of sunshine. The ending was a bit fast, but it was foreshadowed and you could tell it was coming. There were some things that annoyed me (Ex: system complaining about who tops in a relationship etc.), but overall, the novel was enjoyable. I read it in one go. Gremlin's translations are of high quality. <<less

One of those BL stories that I would add to my reread list. Most of the QT novels I've read are usually fast and vague, only focusing on the romance between the MC and ML. Although there is a focus on the romance between the characters in this novel, you can see that the author tried their best to flesh out the stories. The characters are also lovable — a ML who cries, a MC who cries, a System who drools over the crying CP, and Boss who questions System's... more>> intelligence. I love the story and I really enjoyed reading it. The translators did an awesome job too! If not for them, I don't think that I would love and enjoy the story as much as I do now. <<less

It's... A lot...!

This novel have all the taste, man... The Sadness and Pure Happiness. Cuteness and Horror. The Solving of BIG Mystery as part of Plot! And things that made you so bewildered it makes you probably chocked in confusions where you either want to laugh or cry??? Funny and Weird (the 3rd Arc bruh). But one thing for sure... The Psychological Genre Does Not Lie!

Sometimes it took me a moment to keep remind myself WHY the each world was Dark Beyond 'Normal' Reason for ML. Because it mean... more>> to be a Punishment.

So if each of you get Frustrated with what ML had been through... Well... That's LITERALLY THE PLOT. The Punishment... the Tragedy that he had to gone through.

But... With all those Pain, we also get the Sweetness and Cuteness from our MC in his None Human Form giving all his Best and Love for ML. And that's Precious!!!

This Novel is Literally a Story of both MC and ML Saving Each Other's Heart and Well Being.

Okay, put the seriousness aside, I LOVE how the author wrote the characters!

ML is someone with Facial Paralysis who is mostly Aloof and Cold but also a 'Crybaby' (literally cry from heavy grievance). Another Rare BL novel where the ML GONG doesn't have problem with Crying and let out his real grievance. MC would sometimes cry together with him.

No Spoiler, because it hard to explain, but MC's Character Growth was Splendid in Comforting way.

And the System... Well, I Love this guy! Truly the Best Partner and Best Friend for our MC! Without needing to have the 'Human' characteristic to do a Sympathy like Human, IT being Equally Yellow like MC, but a Fun guy to be Around, and have Enough Concern for MC's well being too. Seriously, one of the BEST System I have ever read EVER!!!

Okay... All in All this Novel was something that I doubt you would ever expect!

It's Both HEAVY but also FLUFFY but beware for many Trigger Warning. I Love it but also Happy for it to be Over!

It's ABSOLUTELY WELL RECOMMENDED but BEWARE! BE PREPARE!

The Translator already did Awesome Job... The rest is Up To You Reader! <<less

I think maybe QT just isn’t for me, as I have yet to read one I really liked. Overall I thought it was decent. Some things I liked, some things I didn’t. I loved the system, the MC, and the main couple’s relationship.

First arc: loved it, until the end. The ending was very confusing and convoluted. I still don’t fully understand what all happened. It also required too much suspension of disbelief in my opinion, and there were a few inconsistencies/forgotten details.

Second arc: very dark, but well done. A few... more>> minor details that felt too unrealistic, but nothing big. Ending was much better than in the first arc.

Third arc: I started to get a little bored with the story here, not really sure why. Same complaints as before (unrealistic details and some confusing parts), but it was still pretty good. I ended up dropping it at the end of this arc because I really just couldn’t focus on the story anymore, not because it was bad. <<less

Not really my cup of tea. I don’t enjoy these psychological tropes where everything is a mind-bending mess. It actually hurts my brain to keep reading. Like another reviewer said, it’s definitely “ambitious.”

The first world feels like it could be its own Netflix movie—you know, one of those weird, mind f3cking ones like Black Mirror. It’s very detailed, and the first chapters focus more on the MC and ML, but as it goes on, it shifts to solving the mystery behind the world and the ML. Then there are chapters... more>> where the ML thinks he’s a clone, and maybe everyone else is, too, which started freaking me out. I actually started having some weird thoughts about reality (especially with everything going on in 2024). I don’t want to go down that path while reading. For me, reading is an escape, and I want happy endings, so yeah like I said, this just isn’t my cup of tea.

The writing is good, though, and the plot is interesting. The MC and ML are well-developed and deep. Everything translates well into the “theater” in my head, maybe almost too well.

Also trigger warning! The MC has a backstory with s*xual assault and physical ab*se, which causes him to have serious mental health issues. It’s pretty intense and very detailed, but it also feels like the author just keeps piling on trauma, almost like a teenage angst fest. It reminds me of those Wattpad stories where the omega MC is ab*sed by everyone just for being an omega and then finds a pack that accepts him.

Like I said, this novel seems ambitious but also a bit over-the-top and forced in its angst. The setup doesn’t quite make the emotional impact feel genuine—it’s just kind of thrown at you. <<less

I really liked the first arch, it was interesting to read. I eagerly started the next part, but after a few chapters I almost completely lost interest.

I still forced myself to read on, and to be honest, I didn't like the romantic relationship between the characters here (only in arch 2) at all. Maybe it's the way they brought it to this, but dunno.

I'll see what happens next in the story and then I'll decide how to evaluate this novel

Edited: All the arches except the second one (but it's a... more>> matter of taste) were absolutely amazing. I enjoyed reading.

This novel is definitely worth your attention if attempts at harassment (unsuccessful for the main characters, but not for other characters) are not a trigger for you.

I also liked the personality of MC and ML.

MC is sticky and sweet towards ML, but he is also a tough guy by nature, which is nice to read. ML is cold and strong, but with his own personality. He has a soft heart, and I really got into him while reading. ML crying and MC is crying too - it's refreshing. The author isn't afraid to show men in tears, but also does not ab*se it. Everything feels in its place.

There is no feeling that ML is just some super strong robot
Spoiler

even when he is

unlike in most stories of this type.

Moreover, tears do not bother and always have a good reason. Each world was terrifying (not in terms of fear, but in terms of living conditions) in its own way, with a good intrigue about what was happening and a satisfactory ending.

Cool and cold, but charming and attractive ML, a sweet but saucy and militant (unfortunately, it is often not possible to show himself because of your body, but when it happens, it is very pleasant to watch) MC.

No unnecessary misunderstandings, a funny System and a good plot. What else do you need?

Solid 4, I'll reread it sometime <<less

It's a masterpiece! Each and every world is a puzzle you can't help being addicted to. Truly each world has it's own unique worldbuilding and plot. I couldn't stop reading!

But be warned: it's a very heavy novel. That revolves around temes such as su*cide, sl*very and r*pe. I became so disgusted with the antagonists and felt really bad. It's really not a light read.

One of my absolute favourites, each world has plenty of twists and turns and all of it feels new and fresh enough to keep your attention all the way through.

A great story with great MC and ML, with plenty of tragedy but also hope and comfort in finding your pillar of support in hard times.
