there are S&M and then there is straight up r*pe and this is the latter. if that's your cup of tea....I worry for you but whatever it's fiction. This is pretty uncomfortable to read as she really seems miserable and ab*sed. like its just.... icky and not that having a reason would validate straight up assault but he really seems devoid of one. like they do a pov for him and it explains NOTHING about why he treats her like straight up tr*sh. its a bad time a real dark... more>> read but I will give it credit for being interesting. there is a lot of plot and interesting characterization happening its dark and messed up but its not poorly written. She is not a bad character her motives and feelings are all well written and addressed shes doing the best she can in a sh*t situation that she did nothing to deserve so its just rough to read sometimes. <<less

I just wanted say that before you give this a low rate you should've known what will the contents of this story would be from the tags and plot. If you're uncomfortable reading tragedy, psychological, bd*m, dark and disturbing content stories then this is not for you, get the hell outta here if you'll just give this a low rate 'cause of that. (Honestly I feel bad seeing those were the reasons why they rate it so low and say that it's not a good book/story even though they haven't... more>> read the whole thing, tho I haven't too but I'm giving it a shot and after I read the whole thing I'll write an honest review to it)

And to those who're not then please read it first though you can't get much from the minimal chapter updates but so far it's interesting, how, why and what was the 'cause of everything is unfolding little by little. So I'm looking forward for the next chapters to come and I hope the translator would update this story more often. :3 <<less

Actually, the progressing plot is amazing. The first few chapter is about r*pe (some may think it is disgusting), but after some chapters it's actually romantic and its not that bad (no spoiler).

Can't wait to see the development in the next chap.

this is good tho. I love it but I hope that the empress could stand by herself in the future and could read people's intentions so no one will be able to bring her down and go against her will. I also hope she would increase her knowledge in the empire's aspect or maybe just live the way she always want to away from this politics. Anyways, idk why but I kinda like the grand duke, he has an upper hand in everything and making sure that no one will... more>> tread on the empress, although he nonetheless do to her. He has this interesting character since I can't even read him like b*tch, what the heck is your plan for real? Nvm, I will root for them in the end. <<less

Waiting for new update. It’s a great novel. For first 40 chaps it’s too much ab*se and smutty however the story develops later and it makes all sense. Both ML and FL are pathetic to me. ML is pathetic for not realizing how much he loves her. He keeps using revenge as his reasoning to keep her by his side and treat her cruelty. FL is so weak and much more pathetic. It’s not really her fault since she was raised that way however if she was smarter I don’t... more>> think she would live that miserable. Then when that event occurred, all she can do is cry and obey him. Since chap 140, Duke Silas actually a highlight point and I’m really curious how it gonna end. I won’t surprise if it ends tragically. The translation was ok, there some chapters that lacks information but overall it is a great novel. You really can see characters and story developments, not like some smut which is just smutty and boring. <<less

Honestly it's kind of hard to like the ML : And you just feel sorry for the FL. But the translation is 👌

but it's pretty spot on for a dark themed romance!! The power struggle between them is interesting and I'm totally rooting for the FL to become more capable and stand firmly on her own without the ML
