I LOVED IT. ZIYANG DESERVES MORE.. Anyways it’s worth it. Ofc there’s some spectrums ppl don’t like but if you read the tags you know what’s up. Imo it’s not even that bad, killing stalking is worse to me. I particularly enjoyed how Shen gave Shifu closure and let him think he avenged his disciple.. I loved Wei’s character too. I wish Kaiyi could’ve gotten down with atleast one other lead buuuuuuut other than that, I totally recommend.

This novel doesn't leave you satisfaction but with a feeling of nothingness after you get to know that ML AND MC ADAPTED TO THEIR LIVES.

AFTER ALL HAPPENED IT WOULD BE BEST IF ML AND MC PARTED THEIR WAYS AFTER COMING TO THE REAL WORLD AND DIED IN THE NOVEL WORLD.

the author didn't need to give this sort of HAPPY ENDING.

I've read quite a few novels with problematic tags, but this is honestly the first one I regret. Not to say the novel was bad! It was really good, if a fricked up story is what you're looking for. I know I was looking for one like that, but like I said, really wish there woulda been a tragedy genre included at the time of my reading. I was hoping for some redeeming, some acknowledgement of the F'd up situation, some healing, but I got nothing. No love, just obsession... more>> & dependence. <<less

Well, tbh it was alright. Maybe cause I have read novels like s*umbag system and the villain has something to say, I was kinda disappointed sometimes because I couldn't get that interested in it. But anywho, I'm glad I finally completed it, in the end I was getting irritated and just desperately wanted it to end. After finally getting to the end, I feel kinda bitter sweet about it.

I really wish to tell the author that this is such an amazing work!! Im very satisfied how each characters stay consistent even with all the plot twists and dramatic turn of events.

I'm also glad the author was very straight-forward in making ML to be a very sick-minded charming man with a twisted love

Im very bad with words but I hope people give this novel a try!

This was an okay read.

It had great character building, but the MC was definitely a true idiot. A lot of the times I questioned if the story he supposedly wrote might have been a stolen work instead. For being the author, he seem to be unaware of a lot of stuff that exist or doesn't exist in the world he created for the ML. Although the ML's personality did start to change after he became bent for the MC, I also continued to be annoyed at the fact that the... more>> MC doesn't recognize his other characters' behavior well enough to avoid certain situations. There were A LOT of times where I end up screaming, "AREN'T YOU THE AUTHOR OF THIS WORLD?!??!" And, the MC continues to make s*upid decisions.

Putting aside the warning tags (they were not an issue for me at all), what I couldn't agree with is the relationship between the main couple. They have zero chemistry..... so I don't know how they "fell in love" with each other. The obsessiveness and possessiveness are the only thing holding the two together. In short, it didn't feel like a "Boys LOVE" for me.

I'll give the author some credit for having a good sense of humor for some of the scenes though.

Overall, I don't recommend this novel, but give it a read anyway if you want to. <<less

My love for Xi Zixu knows no bounds. Where there's the novel named, "You've Got Mail: A Cautionary Tale" I feel like this one should be named, "You've Transmigrated: A Cautionary Tale". It is dark. I knew that going into it, but initially I was thinking to myself that it was a pretty standard transmigration story, then it got dark, then it got really dark. This is a story about obsession. It goes beyond love and hate which is mentioned in the story. It talks about the butterfly effect and... more>> truly shows that no good deed goes unpunished. All of that to say that it also provides a good amount of dark humor. It hits very similar beats to her other novel, The Perfect Destiny. There are some minor inconsistencies with the story that the translator points out, some I caught on my own while others I didn't. The last chapters are very trippy. Creative choices were made that were odd for those last chapters. Almost felt like she wanted two different endings to the story and stuck both on, but not in sequential order. With all that being said, I still enjoyed it and it engaged me emotionally. <<less

Well, fit with the tags. This I yandere lover with a lost in fight shou. The s*upid choice MC made destroy the plot and he reap what he sow. Quite fun because I really find a dark novel of love. Story is good. But the pace inconsistent. A little bit jumpy.

imagine this you've been tortured and locked up and live like a human ona hole how can the MC still love him, there's only either he's a fool or he like how the MC ab*se at the same time care for him

Translation was great 😊

the novel was umm, I had a mixed feelings about the whole text and somehow it was good but the relationship of main couple? Was not giving a feel-good type of feeling. Overall, ML was clear and persistent with what he desired and had a goal of sort which is a good point cus I have no passion for anything anymore and it was nice reading someone had guts to do to what they wanted.

First of all, this is not a story about romance. There are snippets and fleeting moments of tension and romance, maybe some cute moments between couples, but this is not a feel-good novel that will gloss over a yandere's obsession and s*xual assault. Some comments talk about how this novel glamourizes r*pe and the toxic abusive relationship between the male leads, but it does the exact opposite.

Actually horrifying. The author and translator have done a superb job with the writing in this novel: feelings, plot-wise, characters. The experience felt so realistic. They didn't try to sugarcoat it and turn it into a situation of the uke suddenly gaining feelings or trying to justify the gong's actions, as you can expect to find in other yandere novels.

i reread the whole story edited translation.?Gosh, it's much better. So sorry I can't change the star rating. Would have given it a 4 1/2 stars. With smoother reading and reconstruction of the story (because some of the paragraphs missing previously) The story is really good. It's intense, dark, psychological manipulation and also funny and aghast. If you want to explore your sadistic side, this I recommend. Thank you

I really don't mind those tags, especially the psychotic personalities, if presented nicely it can be an exciting read. And this story is quite mild ish compared to some other novels. Why I given only 3 stars is the author writing, the 1 st half is actually quite good, but sometimes there are so confusing paragraphs here and there thats kinda disconnected to the plot. And some jumps from paragraphs to the next. I really just kinda confused what had happened and there's also a few plot holes. That why I give this abit low rating.

I thank you translator for their hardwork bringing us this story, but if continues the whole modern extras, I would feel that at least there some "compensation " of shixiong somewhat "tragic "life. In the modern arc ML cleverly, scheme and win the beauty. (Mtl the last 7 extras). Thank you

A slow burn - the start was very plain (typical premise: author transmigrates into story as the villain and has to adhere to the plot), and the second half was incredibly angsty (after Shen Feixiao (ML) realises the 'secret'). Whilst I appreciate that the author didn't force it, even in the end there was no love. On the ML's side it was a yandere-like need to control, and on the MC's side it was only fear. So there's a sense of non-fulfilment with their happy-but-not 'ending'.

Also sometimes surprisingly flippant and... more>> randomly comedic/light-hearted. E.g. There was that random bout of friendship with Wei He, who is a confusing character in himself. All in all, there was nothing bad that I took particular issue with in this story, but at the same time nothing special about the plot/characters/writing that would make this a good story~ <<less

So, after completely finishing this story, I just want to say that it's just barely okay and tbh not really worth the read. It starts off pretty interesting but starts to fall off mid way through and then toward the end it just becomes entirely nonsense that you aren't even sure if you want to complete reading.

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

My biggest issues is the squandering of the rest of Lingshan Sect. Characters like Liu Ling'er or the Sect Master who were introduced in the beginning as important characters to the MC are... more>> left hanging. Sect Master for example who was clearly suspicious of the ML, and vowed to avenge the MC after thinking MC was possessed, simply shook his sleeve and left and we don't hear anything from him after that. I was expecting some scenes where Sect Master would at least interrogate MC to seen if his consciousness was still able to be saved from his 'possession' and investigate the ML and figure out just what the ML was doing to the MC. Also, Liu Ling'er, the MC's shimei who fell for the ML, I expected to at least see a scene of her swallowing vinegar after realizing the MC she didn't want is the one the ML she was after was obsessed with. Then later on I expected a scene of her trying to save the MC from the ML after she realized ML was batsh*t insane. But she was also just gone after MC was apprehended. We don't see how she gets on with the ML afterward or if she finds his behavior at all disturbing. It's completely unsatisfying that the only ones who seemed to know the ML true colors or at least we got to see react to them was like the same four or five people.

The author didn't spend a lot of time making the world of that place believable. The main cast they stuck to was too small and everything else lacked detail.

I almost want to rate this story an extra star simply as thanks to the great translation team, and Another because of hoe promising the first half of this story was, but the ending was such a non-experience I am just going to leave the rating as is. <<less

I only give 5 stars for the translation and editing. Very good work on that. On the other hand, this novel is not something I recommend, especially if you are sensitive people.

I was curious about the novel, yes. You could say that from chapter 65 he took a nosedive.

The confinement, the forcing to be with someone, this whole... situation is sour. This novel made me very bad,... more>> and I only continued it because it recorded the novels that it completed. <<less

Really great start and plot build up. Somehow it reminds you of one of MXTX's novel.

ML is really quite obsessive w/ the MC is a whole scale of different level. No matter w/c world they are in the ML always wants to lock-up the MC by his side.

The story is quite interesting since this is really one of the novels that posses a real yandere ML.

The ending is quite open ended as their is no conclusion w/ regards to their relationship. But overall it is quite interesting to read this... more>> novel. <<less

I'm not really satisified with this novel. After coming here from The Perfect Destiny, this novel has all the dogblood of one of the fantasy arcs and the humor and bickering of the system but not the actual love and compatibility.

It feels like the ML is just obsessed without love for the MC.

i like this novel very much, if I have to say who is the real villain, I cant say anything cause ML is indeed a victim and villain at the same time, he suffered in his childhood and after went to sect he suffered again too and never any person help him or being kind to him so when a person who hurt him save him too and add Devils of the heart too, if it were you, you werent going crazy? MC is victim too, he should done the... more>> system orders and he was a normal kind person and didnt want to hurt ML so he can only help him in secret ways and he didnt want ML to be aware of his identify but at the end, he only wanted to retrieve his action toward ML and didnt know that his light actions have great impact on ML's personality so I cant scold him too... so I dont like that people scold ML.

so if you like yandre ML, this ML is most yandre ML that I see in my life or the true version of yandre (the yandre person isnt soemeone that just likes MC very much or only being possesive) , not for his love or give up on every things for MC, for his action toward MC, in many yandre ML's that I see, they used many ways to gain MC love but they didnt use somway that MC hated them even if they see that MC didnt like them or wanted to run from them, or they use it when MC little liked them and not was going to hated them after that but this ML, really is yandre, he cant live without MC and no matter what the result is, he used all of the methods to keep MC, and I personally like this ML's type. maybe I am little sado LOL, I like the dark side of this novel too, its gives novel more charming and cause the plot to be more Complicated, the side chracters have their own chram and have great impact to story and MC and ML progressing and didnt only exist to made love triangle, and I dont hate r*pe or violence too so this novel is my cup of tea so if you hate novels tag you souldnt really read this story, but for someone like me, I love this novel and I recommend to other readers who are like me,

I would actually rate this story more as an average not bad at all 3 but bumping it up to a 4 because a chunk of people ignored tags and let that colour their rating. (I get that ratings are personal taste but I don't understand wasting your time to read a story with a tag that squicks you out and then drop the quality of the story based on the appearance of a tag you were warned about)

That said despite being one of those stories that could devolve... more>> into leveling up and filler fights this novel doesn't do that. There's a focus on the characters and relationships rather than a million chapters worth of and then he got the magic sword and then he got the magic plant. It's a refreshing version of the basic transmigrated into the antagonist shixiong/shizun trope featuring clueless modern person MC and yandere ml.

The pace of the relationship is a little slow for me. It took until about chapter 65 before stuff actually started happening there, but the actual story of how they get to where they get was a pretty good read.

But yeah in the end it's an average read that's easy to get through. Good translation. Must love yanderes <<less
