Lin Qing He transmigrated into the novel and became one of its cannon fodder. The novel’s background is non-viable-1960s, time of want to eat but nothing to eat and want to wear, nothing to wear. Although the lack of supplies and life was monotonous, this wasn’t what she was concerned about because she got a small personal interspatial space, which is stuffed with supplies, so temporarily no worries about basic needs.

What she is worried about, if she remembers correctly, her three so-called sons will become big villains in the future, and their upright and cold dad will end up in an indestructible end.

Lin Qing He looked at the three future villain sons, eldest who was only five years old, the second child was only three years old, and the third child was only one year old, and decided to give them half a big white bun first…

The writer of this novel is generous enough to give us a glimpse of what China was like during the 10 years of the Cultural Revolution.

I say generous because the author wrote it as is, not in protest but as praise for the Chinese people who triumphed against all odds during this bloodiest period of their nation's history.

Seventeen million young people were sent down to the provinces during the Cultural Revolution. Nobody knew what happened to them. Nobody knew what they did. But history called them the Lost Youth of... more>> China and nobody knew why. At least reading this novel, I am given a glimpse of what really took place during this dark era of Chinese history and for that, I am very grateful to the author.

Mabuhay ka sa iyong katapangan, Author.

The novel itself is very good. It is a reset of a life that followed the same misfortune as the nation. This time, the girl who took over was sensible and had the entrepreneurial can-do attitude of a modern Chinese woman. She's very family oriented and she really works hard in giving her boys a good life.

In a way, the novel serves as a good example of a life well-lived with education and a crappy life most will live without an education.

In this case, I really feel for the second brother who is married to a woman who's not only bitter but will also not hesitate to pull down anyone with her to the grave, most notably her kids. Thank god for their aunt who pull them up when needed.

Very good novel from a writer who really knows her stuff. <<less

I can't understand why it's only 4.4 because it's really so good, well-written & well-translated. The storyline, the setting & character design are really amazing & got me hooked to the point that I visit the site everyday for updates... like I don't usually read incomplete works but this one's just too good & too interesting to miss the time I discovered it. I've read a lot from the same genre but most of them got dragged to the heavens that I just got tired of reading & stopped wasting... more>> time. This one got some parts like that with slight typos too but it didn't affect my interest at all. It has a charm where you feel invested so you keep reading. Over-all this novel (translation) is impeccable. 5 STAR is well-deserved. Kudos to the author & translator. <<less

I know that I still have a while to go on this book but I had to come back to review right quick. It has a decent pacing if you're looking for character development and growth. The Translation is well done with inserted explanations about idioms used in China that other folks may not understand. There is a touch of everything in here without it being overly dramatic. It's really good.
Spoiler

I know I had an especially good laugh on chapter 54 as she tries to stop herself and her husband from allowing any intimacy from happening.

It's a great read for those people who enjoyed slow paced story. This story will grow in you as if you watch their children grow up in person. Overall it's worth your while, great and satisfying story.

Honestly, this is the first novel where the MC gets to prepare for transmigration. I liked it very much. Specially the way she prepared material to take over is too good, really practical.

Three sons are also cute, specially when they start teasing MC about preffering zhou qing bai over them, the kids. Its very entertaining, they basically gets used to being fed dog food.

MC is also good, she takes care of the kids and husband fantastically. Even though she has no experience of being a mother and basically muddling her... more>> way through motherhood. She has good idea about how to tame the children, and sensibly punish them and make them understand about the situation.

The ML is also good, sometimes very cute. He is responsible and respects MC. Even though he is very rigid and uptight about some things but still helps and supports MC, we can see that from the reselling and black market part.

The kids are very lively. Mischievous but have sense of responsibility. MC raised them very well.

I like zhou kai, the eldest kid very much. But the thing about when he grows up annoyed me. Its like MC became s*upid and did some idiotic things.
Spoiler

MC herself said that she would not get involved with the kids marriage, they can choose the partners themselves but then went and did that. She literally forced Zhou kai to the weng family.

Zhou kai was forced to complete highschool to early so that he can apply for exam for first batch with MC. He worked hard and got into best uni. He did not get to enjoy the teen years. He basically had no contact with girls around his age. He was focused on studies and career which is very admirable.

Weng family calculated him. I literally overlooked the wrong family parts in the novel. When weng mother saw that Zhou kai is handsome and sunny boy, she started calculating against him. He was just 15 for gods sake. She literally pushed her daughter on him seeing his family background. I found them irritating.

Weng mang jia is also such a while lotus or better yet green tea. She stalked him to the military and became nurse. MC herself mentioned that she must have became nurse in army to follow Zhou kai.

I don't think Zhou kai really fell in love with that green lotus. That kid had no contact with other girls and was only familiar with her, later she follows him in army. Then both families told him to look after her, ughh. Like she is a little kid, and her elder brother was also in the army. There was no need for Zhou kai to look after her. Later kid must have misunderstood that looking after aa a love.

That weng family are irritating bunch. MC became s*upid because of them

This type of story is one that I really enjoy, read on slow / fast pace doesn't matter, the writing is good, the plots is not heavy, sometimes a bit boring well slice of life, overall it's good. But when it's end my pillow is very wet with tears. Felt like I was growing together with the characters too, then it's end with goodbyes - lights out. Days after is depressing even though it just novel. So if you're someone like me it's up to you to read or not,... more>> if you are still reading it, again it's ur choice to finish it or to cut in the middle. <<less

Finally finish reading it after 5 months hehe

I prolonged it as much as possible because I don't want it to end. 700 chapters seems sooo long that I feel like they become part of their lives.

Spoiler

I Enjoyed the twist/little girl at the end. Would love to read her story if ever

This is too good. I kinda like how the story starts where she can buy things in the modern world. If I were her I would have steal some awesome shits but anyway, we abide the laws... And until the last chapter I still remember the meat buns that she left 😭

its genre is slice of life

The MC is straight forward and would care for people who are genuine and heartless to those ungrateful shits

... more>> I'm reluctant to see her 3 sons to marry

Even though its just her life story I find it interesting and doesn't feel bored

The ML is a do action type not the talker. He is supportive to MC. He knows where he stands and protects the family when someone bullies his family.

Well of course no one can bully the family with MC's attitude

I'm already at chapter 326+ and I'm reluctant to end it

I'm actually interested to their life at 60s' going to modernization.

I'm crying, the ending

it's sweet they died in their nineties

When her husband said "hey wife, it's dark I'm here." I cried so hard. (I remembered my grandmother and when my mom grows old)

Aug 17, 2022

Okay, I'm actually laughing at my review. but yes, the last part was so heart breaking. Its a happy ending since they grew old and lived their happy life. The sad part was also growing old. 😭

This is the novel that you really love but you dont want to read again because of the half of the novel where MC got in to the college. Now, after reading this novel. I would only go to the part where I like. Just like memories.

THIS NOVEL IS

SLICE OF LIFE - so, its about the daily life of MC, face slapping, doing business, going to school, living you life.

P.s although ML here isn't one of the best and not the best one. I really have a crush on him 😂. Since april 15, 2021 until now. I can still remember his name and everytime I think of love ones I would think of MLs name. 🤭 Sorry MC. Although ML isn't my type but I don't know why I love him.

At first, I considered dropping this book in the first few chapters, but fortunately I didn’t and now i’m really fascinated to it.

Actually, I’ve been waiting for the translation of this book almost everyday, and these past few months I stocked up many chapters because I always felt that its not enough to satisfy my excitement... it’s just so addicting to the point that sometimes i’m feeling quite moved or emotional whenever I noticed that the little cubs are slowly growing up XD funny but its true HAHAHAHA

I have to say I really surprised myself by actually reading this to the end. not that there was anything wrong with the novel but just because despite liking the slice of life genre I've never been able to hold on to the end with such novels especially one with 700 chapters!

on that note ill leave readers a warning-understand this whole novel is just slice of life. don't come expecting crazy OPness or face-slapping to the ninth heaven. it's just about the journey of how the MC raises her kids... more>> in the village at first and lays down their education spoils her husband and slowly improves her relationship with her in-laws.

later from the village, they move to Beijing officially after she completes uni education and teaches there while she and the ML open shops and stores as well as property. the sons are then sent to study one by one and we see the different careers they go into as well as their journey in finding their wives and settling down.

ofc there's a lot more going on but I've just touched thru with the basics of the man family.

so again if you're in the mood for something exciting and blood-boiling this won't be it. its more of a relaxing red watching the MC and her family grow mentally, physically as well as financially.

this is the MC and mls life journey from their early twenties to their last breath.

i wont lie, ii feel like a bit here and there is lacking and they are some plot holes but these small faults can be over-looked. the MC had a cheat-the space. but its really only plain space, no fields or magical spring water. she never did farming in the village, the village arc was mostly raising the kids and spoiling the husband while earning side-cash thru illegal trade. I do feel that a lot of interesting topics like the children's highschool journey was skipped and it was a pity and when she was in uni with her son it could've beenmore exciting. I regret that there weren't many of family activities which could be interesting like camping or so...i also would've loved more interaction between the MC and kids esp ML and kids.

i really recommend this book for anyone who is interested for the slice of life genre. <<less

This book is really for those who are free and looking for something easy to read. I really like the MC, she was a strong woman who could adapt to the change quickly and efficiently, she treated those children like her own and raised them to be admirable individuals.

my favorites were the family interactions. The MC and ML were so loving even in the old age, even their children got jealous (i wanna be like them too😭). My type of man is like one of those children of theirs, and... more>> I really can tell that being in a family like that with a mother like that, can effect the children's future so much (i really want a mother like her).

The lesson I learned from reading this is, what you give to your children is what they give in the future. Children are like seeds that you grow to be a tree, if you treat them right they will grow to be a big lush tree with beautiful leaves and bountiful flowers and fruits, if you treat them wrong they will wither and die.

overall, this book is a must read for those who looking for romance and family fluff I guess😌 <<less

I like this type of novels, you can see authors effort to describe the past...

MC suddenly got a space and had dreams of another world (from a book), so she prepares some food, medicine, etc just in case. Then wakes up in that world.

If I remember correctly, she was an orphan, so I can understand her taking care of the family, after all the kids were so small. She could have scaped like the original but choose to stay, and change the kid's destiny, her "husband", etc. What I liked... more>> the most from her was her decisiveness... was it for business, studying or family relationship.

Her relationship with ML is nice to read from the start, he didn't force her, respected her opinions and helped in the house. That was rare for the time and place they lived.

I think that it could be a little shorter, the first part in the countryside was somewhat repetitive, especially the food parts. Later in Beijing got better.

My favorite character was the grandpa she met in the library.

Mother in-law was so f*cking annoying, always trying to tell her how to spend the money, or trying to make her feel guilty for not helping others, how she always made a fuss over the first child... well, that's maybe because I hate my own grandma :u grandpa was ok, irrelevant.

It would be nice to read more about the little girl, about her growing up or how she interacted with her nieces and nephews haha.

What more... ummm, don't remember, it was good overall. Every family has some annoying people after all. <<less

This is the most ‘Slice of Life’ novel I’ve ever seen. The story itself has nothing much but fulfill life of FL and her family. There’s cooking, farming, raising children, little romance, slow-paced life and making money.

FL lives an easy life as she transmigrated, she knew everything beforehand. There’s no twist and turn but I still enjoy how she live her life.

ML is okay. He love FL soo much because of how great she is. There’s nothing much about him in the story.

To sum up, If you want something to... more>> read and chill, I’d recommend this for you. However, If you want an exciting story with full of plots, You need to find something else.. <<less

Based on the previous comments, the story is really good right?

And yeah, it was reaaaally good. I MTL-ed the remaining chapters, it was really this good.

Heartwarming, educational as to child care and life plans. This story made me think if I should start investing my savings. Hehe

... more>> The villain siblings were molded by the MC as good citizens and filial to their parents. Every character had some growths too, from the in-laws to third brother Lin. As a slice of life, this story can be reflective of even the present society.

Kudos to the author and translators! <<less

I was glad I read this

I particularly had love hate feelings towards the mc

I found her too overbearing but at the same very cool and admiring

... more>> Her relationship with the ML at the beginning was weird... atleast from my standpoint of view

Like the reason she doesn't want to share a room with her... I get it but at the same time I don't

If she only needed time I would understand... but at the beginning she decided that they would have nothing between them... if so why not just divorce...? Doesn't make sense but then she would go on to seduce him to have her way?

Well whatever all went well later on

Then development etc... I felt sad in the end but it was so <<less

I honestly won't be able to put this down (or even get some sleep) if this was by any chancr completed. This was that good. I guess I got tired of the typical Chinese transmigration revenge, scheming, overbearing ML, fierce roamnce, and all other stuff, so I find this refreshing. I must say, even without those, it was not boring at all. I'm very thankful for the translator for picking this wonderful book and sharing it. Xoxo.
