Lin Qing He transmigrated into the novel and became one of its cannon fodder. The novel’s background is non-viable-1960s, time of want to eat but nothing to eat and want to wear, nothing to wear. Although the lack of supplies and life was monotonous, this wasn’t what she was concerned about because she got a small personal interspatial space, which is stuffed with supplies, so temporarily no worries about basic needs.

What she is worried about, if she remembers correctly, her three so-called sons will become big villains in the future, and their upright and cold dad will end up in an indestructible end.

Lin Qing He looked at the three future villain sons, eldest who was only five years old, the second child was only three years old, and the third child was only one year old, and decided to give them half a big white bun first…

One of the best slice of life novels I've read.

Edit: Finally completed this masterpiece (MTL'd it, my brain was substituting a lot of phrases to grt it done lol maybe understood it 80% will reread this next year once it's fully TL'ed)

*sigh* This is so sweet and can't get enough of it. As what the others have said, it feels like how the parents feel when you see your kids all grown up. I love how the author goes into their lives so detailed that you feel you're part... more>> of it.

Spoiler

When the kids got married and had their children, I reminisced when they were still the stinky boys in the village lol. Felt so nostalgic.

[collapse]

A lot of things happen. No drama between the couple and the children. All conflicts were brought by their relatives and in laws 🤣 So much world building, skills building and character growth.
Spoiler

Altho, I found it incredulous that everyone didn't suffer any losses while doing business, all the in laws, nephews and friends 😂.

[collapse]

I love the CP dynamics. Everything felt just right altho ML is usually silent and just says the bare minimum. You can feel their care for each other. The kids are just adorable and all the extras were memorable, too. One of those long CNs, I'll never get tired of reading. 😊 <<less

I love this novel! I totally recommend this for you to try it out. This is a SLICE OF LIFE so don’t expect a lot of ambition from the main character. I personally like how a lot of the characters and settings are pretty realistic. I also like how it explains how hard it was to live life back then.

Overall it was very interesting to read!!

Finally Completed the whole story in mtld version through google translate. The story is very engaging from beginning to end. It tells how she transmigrated from the modern era through the past and how she used her knowledge of the future to change and improved the lives of everyone she cares about. It is very heart warming story. Very Highly Recommended *****

Good to read in your free time for sure.

Character developments are also quite well laid out, though however the FL in my eyes adapted too well when she transmigrates... Also, the male lead... how should I put it... boring and not too interesting? Not as unique either... though very obedient? 🤔

This is a really good slice of life novel. Some people might find it boring as the plot is very straightforward. However, the characters are not 2-dimensional and have depth. Even the irritating characters are a product of their time so I can't fully hate them (i even pity some of them). Also, character developments happen not just with the MC and ML but with everyone. This is prolly one of best slice of life I've ever read. 👌 Also, the translator is very good and updates everyday. I always look... more>> forward to a new chapter when I wake up. ♡ Thank you! <<less

This novel is more like those world developing games. On the whole, it was ok. I finished it in mtl. The story is not just centralized around the main lead, it pays a lot of attention to side characters too. The ending pretty much covered all the characters, there was no loose ends. I wouldn't recommend this for binge-reading. It can be quite repetitive.

very slice of life. It's not for people who enjoy more realistic stories but the writing is good and the translator puts out releases quickly. I thought it was good.

I love it, I love it, I love it

Something good must be said three times!!!

I like how detail the author delivers the story from 60s to 90s

... more>> I like how the author breakdown the information what had happened in China at that times, it was quite different with my country and realised why there were so many immigrants from China in other countries and reading this story just like reading history book, very enjoyable.

Also, reading this novel with setting of 60s to 90s, makes other stories with the same background are pale in comparison, imo <<less

4/5 solid complete translation with a star taken off due to the ML occasionally being incredibly aggravating and the persistent vague sort of sexist biases in the writing that just gives you a low level feel of annoyance when you're reading.

Can't believe I finished reading 701 long chapters! Totally loved the story!

The FL and her family are just adorable. I loved reading their mundane life in the countryside and their gradual development in the capital. It was satisfying how their wealth was not achieved overnight, the whole Zhou family worked hard for it. The most noteworthy of course is our FL LQH. She's a dedicated wife and mother but never a pushover and strive for education. She doesn't let herself suffer grievances. Whether her opponent may be her own maternal... more>> family or even her in-laws, she fights back with class (my kind of FL 🤭) I also love the ML ZQB, he's a loving husband and reliable dad. He supported whatever FL wanted to venture for their family. Even when his wife wanted to go to the capital to study with their son, he was not chauvanistic and trusted her. He's quite a daughter-con though lol. What also really made me stay are their 3 sons ZK, ZX and ZGL. Their childhood was very fulfilling so they grew up as good boys. I was like an old neighborhood auntie seeing them grow up and get married 😂

Overall, if you are a patient reader and loves slice of life stories, then this is a good novel for you as it was for me. Thank you so much to translator-san and author-san for this gem 🫶 <<less

This work is for Mature audiences.

I loved it, as someone in my 30s, the pace was not too slow nor too fast. It addressed a lot of topics and issues within a family and relatives, especially those related to ones success and how it benefits the other family members.

It also talks about some controversial issues the country faced during those times (such as the Cultural Reform, the One Child Policy, etc.) but in a way that showed us how people managed to find ways to work around those issues.

Lastly, I... more>> feel this story has made me appreciate my family more.

Those who keep talking badly about later chapters (specifically after ch300) must either be too young, or have perfect families. Depending on where you live, your contact with your relatives might be good or bad, close or distant, so it might not apply to everyone.

Another thing some disliked is how much richer they've become. Mind you, this didn't happen overnight. As someone who has an uncle in the countryside who is extremely hard-working but also very rich (except you could never tell he was rich, he's quite modest), hard work and good investments pay off, especially if you have knowledge like the MC (heck she worked in sales originally, she knows how to buy and sell stuff).

If you're contemplating whether to read it or not, give it a go anyway.

I do, however, have to point out that the translation is... not the best. But the story is so good, my mind simply adapted. <<less

One of the best transmigration stories in the China's 60s-90s background.

Clear storyline, reasonable characters and logical development. It can be seen, that the author worked hard to write it.

Things that made me enjoy this story:

  • Great business-minded FL!
  • No shocking angst with the original FL.
  • Heartwarming age progression of the original villains in the story.
It anazed me that I didn't find the 701 ch long-winded, but actually exhilarating. Definitely recommended!

I haven't fully finished this story but I am satisfied with what I have read. The female lead has a cheat - space and she uses to improve her and her family life. The male lead is a typical character and I can't say I like him very much but he does support her, so. It has a refreshing poor to rich vibe that got me hooked to this novel from the start.

At this moment, they are in capital and expanding their business. I do like their sons. My favourite... more>> is Er wa (second). Reading all of them is such a delight.

Do give this a try!! You won't regret this. <<less

First review written because I don't usually write reviews. I love the story because of its slice of life nature. The period of when the family was in the village was the best imo.
Spoiler

It was satisfying to read about how they brought their extended family over and each one of them succeeded.

[collapse]

However, I felt displeased by how the ML, ZQB was so adamant about having a daughter despite FL's objections (hence 4*). Despite the fact that it may affect her health due to her age. Not one I would re-read because this matter was almost 3/4 of the story. It was brought up so often that I was annoyed. Story doesn't have much angst and drama but even if there were it was resolved very quickly.
Spoiler

I mean I get that he's upset about her getting ligated but it wasn't her fault it was the original's fault. No matter how cute she was described in the story after she was born I couldn't not unthink it.

if you’re looking for a pure slice of life this is it! Honestly I did not expect myself to finished this novel bc of the length but from the moment I started reading it I couldn’t stop and I finished it in a week or so. I personally really really like this type of novel. This story consists of a daily life from when FL was in her 20s to her 40s and it’s really satisfying to see how much have their life changed a poor pheasant from the countryside... more>> to a dignified director of Beijing university and to a successful businessman. I love her relationship with the ML and her cubs and I felt like she’s someone that worth to be admired and you learn so much from her as a character.. I love how she guide her nieces and everyone dear around her unlike some MC who only care about themselves like I could never do that. So I find this FL very realistic in many ways. My only complaint was that we didn’t get much depth about her childrens/nieces love story and toward the end chapters I was feeling very emotional bc I felt like was ageing with them. It’s the kind of feeling when you finished a really good book and you don’t know what to do with ur life for a moment 😭 <<less

Overall, it was a nice slice of life novel, not too much drama, just enough fluff.

The country side arc at the start of the novel should have been made much shorter, even then I still m loved reading about the everyday mundane life of the family, I felt like a little fly on the mud wall watching the kids grow up. The extended family drama, running the businesses, to raising the children, all of it was nice.

My only regret is that the ending was so obviously rushed. I wish... more>> it could have been fleshed out more. The development of the plot of land outside the capital, married life of the 3 boys, and the FL/ML’s relationship.

kinda long, but I do recommend reading it. 3.9/5 <<less

I love the story from beginning to end. It is great to see the journey that the MC went through. Obviously there’s a lot of suspension of disbelief since things go mostly well for her but that can be counted as the MC being that capable.

This novel has an MC who woke up with a magic space one day remembering a dream where a little boy asked her for food. She prepares for the worst immediately, assuming that it was some kind of pre-apocalyptic warning. It turns out different though. She ends up transmigrating into a novel as a cannon fodder. More specifically, the canon fodder mother of the three villains of the novel. At the time she transmigrated, these villains were still young 5-3-1! The villain husband was also still in the army, although... more>> he was set to come back due to an injury. In any case, she has no choice butto keep moving forward. Which she handles pretty well!

This novel is very slow-paced and it’s all about life in 1960s China. Idk how accurate it is but the detail is great! Despite being a BG novel I never felt annoyed by her. She isn’t some Mary Sue. She does have a cheat but she uses it well and it doesn’t make her overly powerful, just rich LOLOL. As a poor-to-rich novel, it gets top marks from me. I only stopped reading cause the side-character family drama became a bit too boring and I felt that the main CP had already gotten their HEA. I’m content with what I’ve read already. And will definitely not hesitate to read it in the future.

RATING: 4.35/5

This slice of novel is quite good~ Definitely a favorite for me (hence why I gave it a five star rating despite my actual rating not quite adding up to five). It was also the first novel I read about the Chinese Reformation Era, so I have good feels about it! Of course, it might not be for everyone. It’s especially slow paced and the ups and downs are based on family drama and such. That’s not to say that this novel is all about face-slapping like other similar novels. More about the effects of the era on the people at the time and how vastly different their lives are to our generation. <<less
