Really good novel. If you liked QWFOD this will not disappoint. The first 2 arcs are a bit slow but after that, just wow. The MC is so spunky and ML just loves everything about him they are so flirty just my favourite type of romance. Both are good chaotic characters. They are equally strong. The novel is interesting, very well written. Translation is great. I just can't wait for more updates.

I really enjoyed this one! As with all BL quick transmigration, one cannot avoid comparing it with the holy bible that is QWFOD, and though there are many similarities, this one is different enough that it at least avoids being a clone. For one, the MC while also being a genius is decidedly a lot less suave and conniving than ZYS hahaha I can't even. This MC is such a ball breaker and a chaotic mess. ZYS meticulously plots every step of his path to defeating his enemy while looking... more>> cool. This MC finds tries to find a loophole in every world and then aims a bazooka at it.

As for ML, he's a lot less unique? Strong, silent archetype that adores MC to bits (once he "falls" for him). Not that he's not likable.

Even though this is classified as QT, I'd hesitate to really read it as QT. For one, the sense of the overarching plot is very strong, even when the MC travels to different worlds. It's clear from the very beginning that the worlds he's traveling though are just simulations meant to punish him, and the MC hardly tries to fit into the role he's assigned so the immersion is broken from the get go. He's just there to raise hell, not perform missions or whatever, so many times the world is terminated abruptly, leaving us with no sense of closure. I would have liked to see classic QT format in which the worlds are episodic in nature, but this would be almost impossible with the personality of the MC hahaha. Also the settings won't allow him to settle down and grow old with ML like we would see in some classic QT. He's meant to be miserable, it can't happen. The relationship between MC and ML is so sweet. ML has such an enduring and patient love for MC even though the little bastard is so prickly and distrustful it made me go uwu. MC takes a while to warm up to ML, but when it finally does and the backstory is revealed it really made my chest twinge.

All in all, it was a wonderful read and I was not disappointed by how it ended as is the case with many Chinese novels. The mystery of the MC and ML's back story was solved neatly and the resolution was so so satisfying. Everyone got what they deserved. :) <<less

This story is one of my favorites, I'm rereading it for the third time! I really like the main character, because I like smart, brave, strong and crazy, and even the fact that he is too OP is subsequently explained. I like that there is not only a lot of love (no s*x, only kisses), but also a very well developed (soooo interesting!) storyline.

I want to say a special thank you to the translator, he/she is very cute!!!❤️❤️❤️

Phenomenal example of the quick transmigration genre. Each world feels complete but clearly building towards a much grander story. Really love the MC and ML, a pair of smart idiots (said lovingly)

sadly I cant even complete the first arc. its really boring, which is a shame because its an action arc, and the summary sounded pretty interesting. its actually so boring that I started falling asleep in the middle of the day. idk what happened for it to turn out this way. not sure if I should hold out until it gets interesting, but a good story shouldnt force me to suffer through multiple chapters if boredom to get to the good part ☹️

this is my second time trying to read... more>> this, and this is the furthest ive gotten because its just so boring. the MC has no character development, the ML might as well be invisible, and I have no clue what the plot is supposed to resemble. such a shame. I saw a lot of good reviews hyping it up, so maybe ill give it a third try later...

i must add that im used to feeling a slight disconnect from the story at first because a lot of translated c webnovels, especially qt bls, sort of end up with an awkward first few chapters (usually caused by cultural and core language differences), but I dont think this is a translation issue. ive never gone so far in a story without being hooked in any way before 😭💔 <<less

Just finished reading this book, found it very enjoyable. Felt like a good twist on a transmigration MC. The ML was, well, a ML.

Although it was good, there was just something "off" about it, but I can't put my finger on what it was. Maybe it was the "abrubt" ending on the worlds he is in (though I understand why).

I recommend you to read this book, since it is'nt a typical transmigration novel. You will have some fun with it. :)

Absolutely loved this novel, the plot was so well written that it's hard to wrap your head around it until it comes into a full circle and everything is revealed!

Also loved how the MC is always able to turn around the situation given to him at every arc. Definitely a wonderful novel and amazing author!

The tags said Transmigration/World Hopping but it is not your typical QT like (FOD, etc.) for me it's more like "To Be a Heartthrob in a Horror Movie". The difference in TBAHIAHM the MC is inside the movie and the ML can freely navigate/intervene because of his powerful mental power and being a sort of Producer?, but here in BTBR the MC is in the "world" design by the researchers that is powered by the mental power of the ML.

Nah~ although there is a world building but it's kinda leave you hanging in the end because it's just a instance to stimulate the ML and inflict pain to MC, albeit it barely does which frustrate the living hell out of the researcher which is so funny.

ML and MC's romance is just there. Even in the beginning I can sense it. Their mutual pull to each other is so sweet that I don't think its a slow burn xD I love how MC's showing of love is, "cariño brutal". They are so cute. <<less

I've never seen an MC so aptly reflect their book's title. He is rebellious! Rebellious to almost-death! Rebellious enough to crush the world! I love this MC and how death defying and illogically strategic he is. How did the author dream up such a character?

The arcs are interesting and unique, with a thread of mystery throughout. It all gets tied together in a pretty interesting wrapper story.

My one gripe is how unnecessary all that slow burn and painfully glacial romance turned out to be. Why author?! Why make it so... more>> slow?! Is it fun torturing your readers?!

The translator did a great job of persisting through this rather long novel, and filling us with sweet fanart and fanfic along the way. What a gem 🤗 <<less

This novel seems to be highly rated so I gave it a shot after leaving it on my reading list for several months djdkdkdk it’s okay. But I lack interest for the time being and didn’t get very far. Basic premise is that the MC —- the OP genius type with a bad personality (always acting cool and mysterious, but actually also childish and reckless) —- decides to accept punishment after being captured for his crimes. This is a QT novel that strays off the beaten path and into new territory. The plot of each arc is intertwined with the main plot to ultimately unveil the secrets behind MC and ML's past. Very much unlike some QT novels where each arc exists as individual mini novels that could be skipped entirely.

If you're looking for a more traditional QT novel, then the way this novel is laid out might not be quite to your taste.

Great author so it's a guaranteed quality. And I also love the MC's criminal identity followed by his explosive personality (literally). Most of the arc's setting is distinguishable from most quick transmigration genre BUT there's not much face slapping or 'MC changing his fate' type of scenario (which is one of the biggest "signboard' selling point for this genre basically, not that I mean a good QT has to have a good face slap scenario but for those who don't must have other main selling point like reasoning or case... more>> solving. Yes there is mystery type of quick transmigration and it's great, though I don't think any of them have been translated) because.....

Remember, this is an actual simulation not an entirely different worlds soo.. people who are in control of the project can very much manipulate the things he will experienced although limited. For example, to kill MC, they can only do it via incurable disease or slowly failing his organs, or even worse, they can just terminate the ongoing simulation if the situation that the MC caused is very severe but in exchange for raising a *redacted*<- (big spoiler) rate's

So I can understand for those who don't like this novel (tbh this probably one of the worse of the author's works). I too, am frequently disappointed by the cut part, like REALLY REALLY disappointed. It's like trying to take a p*ss after a long shift but were stopped by a fire alarm. Cuz man, the action ? MC's personality ?? the world setting too ??? are f*cking great at least based on my taste. Author adds their own touch to an otherwise mainstream routine/world setting. IF only the author at least gave us alternate endings in some of the world as extras at the end of the novel or something.... this novel is 5 stars no question.

But in reverse, I also understand where the author coming from. They want to write a quick transmigration but focused on the overall plot rather than per arc/world lore. So what it caused is a more solid ending and emotional plot but with a rather rushed/lackluster arc ending (well, MC goal IS to get the f*ck outta here as fast as possible though in most part his parting are not what he intended to AKA he still cares about ML's feeling).

Anyway ML's also nice a bit yandere tho, he's the' looks gentle and soft on the outside' but only cares about MC exclusively in actuality. Oh yeah and they never f*ck in the entirety of the novel, extra chapter included. Even though in many arc's they have so much ambiguity so props for the ML's to have that much patience and respect for MC. Despite that (patient, cold, but lovestruck ML x MC's zero trust to anything and everything thus will always skip the topic when ML tryna 'hint' him something) the romance is well done in my opinion, slow, implicit but sweet and has it's own taste.

Btw the author newest work <欢迎进入梦魇直播间/welcome to nightmare live> is FIRE. Yeah the title has no creativity but I assure you the action ? logic chain ?? MC'S CHARMS !?? are UP there (especially the amusement park arc, like MAN I always got goosebumps whenever I think about it). Highly recommended. In this novel everything is explained in the final chapters, you have to be patient.

Everything has its reasons for being, even the personalities of the MC and ML.

I can only say that I love it, very good read.

This is a novel for which you would need a bit more patience in the romance department.

After all, the amnesiac psychopath MC with trust issues needs some time to warm up to the strange, obsessive yandere ML. This is why during the first few worlds you will see most/all the romance coming from the ML while the MC still doubts the other's intentions.

Only in a later arc does the MC slowly start to accept the ML. Though, the MC is a bit of a tsundere even when his memories come... more>> back and he acknowledges the ML as his partner.

The plot itself is okay, the arcs were interesting enough. While I do not have any major complaints, reading this felt a bit cumbersome for some reason I can't exactly pinpoint. Therefore, my rating will stay at 4 stars. <<less

I wasn't able to rate it a five star since I was so excited and directly wrote my thoughts 😭😭😭

Won't say much, just want to tell that this is a must read novel. This is one of the most astounding BL novel I've read. All of the arcs are amazing (the ones where the MC is the zombie emperor and a siren are my favorites.) Every thing has a reason and the uthor was able to explain everything in a splendid manner.

Kudos to the translator who did a ggreat job!... more>> I just could help but mtl since I loved the premise of the story. Once again, this is a must read and I assure you, this novel is among the ones on top of the quick transmigration genre. <<less

Ge Xiu is such a endearing character, he's just my taste: cunning, rebellious, crazy, overpowered, and he's so cool!!! He's patient and pays tooth for tooth, eye for an eye. He holds grundge and he's petty like me 💀 I know some people don't like OP characters but even if MC is amazing and can reverse his unfortunate fate everytime, it comes with a cost : (I mean, I think it's totally... more>> fair for him to be OP if the world is keen on making him suffer the most painful life ever.

I mean, his backstory make up for it. It makes sense why he's so OP and about his aggressive personality and his trust issues.

Sometimes I feel like a masochist because I want Ge Xiu to punch me and threaten me 💀 he's just so cool! I feel so giddy watching him break reality and fck with everyone lol total maniac 💀

Another thing I definitely liked was their relationship progress :) it was so smooth and entertaining I didn't even notice when they first kissed. I could see their romantic connection and that they cared for each other so I didn't miss PDA. It felt like the first time I watched a J or K drama lol

Everytime they had any intimate (PG-13) scene I was giggling and kicking mummy feet like I was experience puppy love all over again 🤣 when Ge Xiu called MC his boyfriend I had the urge to give the most feral scream on my pillow (and I did it 😳) BAHAHAHAHA it was so good.

They find each other and although ML has a innate for MC, Ge Xiu doesn't let it affect him at first. He just thinks it is another trick to mess him or a strategy to let his guard down. It's honestly sad. But with time, MC starts to unconsciously rely on ML, unconsciously feel safe around him... It's beautiful to see 🥹

ML is such a green flag! He's not perfect but he's so cute! He really cares for MC and his personality has also a change. To cold to more expressive to completely shameless lol

That's so rare in BL QTs 🥹 they usually so unpalatable that I would drop, but here? i totally love him. I love both of them and I ship them so much I overreact at any detail (♡ˊ͈ ꒳ ˋ͈) I feel like a mother watching their babies falling in love and building a family.

he's so enamored with Ge Xiu it's so cute aaaaaaa

Every Arc had his own lore. It didn't feel like a scenario on low budget, it had complexity, clear antagonisms and purposes. Except the protagonists and the malicious intent, nothing felt like a copy-paste or wearisome. Some of them even broke the cliche of MC be a know-it-all 🤣 the Entertainment Arc was one of them. MC is OP but his power doesn't rely on his adaptability or geniu machinery but on his way of twist his fate and mess the villain's plans LMAO; reading the Arc was dumbfounded and wheezing so much 🤣🤣🤣

Even the Zombie Arc and the Horror Arc (themes that can be really boring if the author don't have the skills) was good. The ZOMBI arc didn't get stagnant or cliché; all the journey was funny and the romance was just right. I literally cried reading the last arc of the chapter (luteal period sucks). What surprised the most was Horror Arc, I thought it would be soooo boring (Im more of a visual horror person) but the creepy atmosphere, the players' despair and terror was perfect *chef's kiss*, the one dinner banquet scene was really vivid! Really really good 👍🏽

Quick transmigration done well. The worlds were fun and since this novel isn't long I binged it in one go. My favourites are the Garbage star, the dark/light world and the zombie apocalypse one. Honestly I enjoyed most of the world's except the actor one which was quite boring ngl but it did progress the overarching plot so it gets a pass.

The MC is chaotic and I adore his playful nature. He also is ruthless both to himself and others and he seems op but he gets debuffed every arc... more>> in different ways yet he breaks through it so it's fun. It's so fun to see him wreck havoc. ML also is fun lol. Honestly the MC's personality kept me reading from start to finish. He's such a chaos gremlin I love it haha.

Overall an enjoyable QT bl and if you want you can give it a try <<less

Thank you translator for working hard to translate this cute, heartwarming, bad a** MC story. It’s very entertaining read. Love the MC destructive nature lol, and cute silly ML. They both were a pitiful babies. I love the this strong MC characteristics. And all the arcs really wonderful to read. The only thing is the ending of the arcs, some really kinda leave you hanging. (But with good reason)

To be honest with you I get bored pretty fast sometimes and I can't find the motivation to read the rest of the story. It was nearly happening this time too. I kinda find the first arc a bit boring but necessary for character development. After first arc things are getting a lot more interesting. MC is powerful but not OP in my opinion because he has weakness. We mainly see it in the later arcs. Anyways the leads are lovable at least for me. I'm still reading but it... more>> is pretty fun. I love the fact that ML respects MC.

in the 1. arc ML respected MC's choices and didn't pursue him. He could have chase him but didn't.

The 2. arc was truly beautiful. ML was a cutie pie. Also the ending was fabulous. Fenrir was way too cute. It had a lot of potential but that Goddam judges.

The 3. arc was also enjoyable and mysterious. I really love ML and the amount of respect he has for MC. I also love MC and his love for candies. Also FINALLY OUR FIRST KISSS AAAA

The 4. arc I'm still at the beginning of the arc but looks pretty promising. I finished it. I don't like ABO genre a lot but it was still pretty good. The ending was weird.

The 5. arc was short like really short. I hate the judges and director anyways. İt was pretty funny to see our MC failing at entertaintment industry.

The 6. arc Amazing. MC is way to cute... He's a lil kitty extrmely adorable. This arc was fun.
