I do feel a setback on some matter, like the ML whole plot and situation. I kinda felt very sad for the FL because she has such an ML as a patner, as I understand that even if it is written in realistic way on how the actual person on the ancient life, there is some setback on ML action, age and his harem. I just felt somewhat FL are truly miserable where she being put on the same situation as her past. Being used as a tool by the prince aid, her will is being ignored, she has to suppress her every thought in front of every one, most of all ML could not support FL emotionally at all. Idk how long will this situation would last but at least I hope there will be someone who will genuinely protects her as a person and human. Even if I felt bad for ML that has such a tragic childhood and past life but I felt more miserable for FL. At least ML could act for himself just yet while FL despite being a woman she also a lowborn servant in such society.

also I dislike how almost many women are being portrayed in this novel, though this portrayal is based closely on the fact of social life and woman attitude on ancient time, but it's still annoying. Like how most of the maid fight for favor and everyone turn to enemy, or how shallow most of the official wife are. The author only safeguarding getting a good character close to FL in age where they will not became FL opponent. Kinda uncomfortable by this actually.

XH is a simple girl with a simple life, simple purpose but complex mind. Her lowborn status play a big deal to her attitude. She did not aim high and always have a clear conscience on what could or couldn't be done. She also a smart girl who learn from her every mistake, especially those of her past. We could actually see how she had a big greed and temper from her past life, yet instead of using her reborn to aim higher she clear her head and correct her attitude. We could see this temper kinda flare up later in the story, but she will be able to handle it nicely. She is an amazing character with her shortcomings. I actually like her very much.

ML is a pitiful character. He never meant bad but sometimes caused side effects to his surrounding, the same with FL even if he's being reborn he had his conscience in check and never fall for his ego. His previous life is miserable, different with FL who somewhat caused her own shortcomings, ML dreadful past were caused by other's, yet he never resent them to the point want to take revenge. He is really a formidable character.

There is a time when I'm curious on his condition. Before reading this, I actually come across a story where one of the character have an Asperger syndrome. This syndrome kinda makes it hard for the patient to recognize some emotion. But then again the author kinda explicit it again and again that his condition brought out by some short of traumatic experience which perhaps condition like Alexythimia were the closest call for him. Nevertheless he understood his situation well and always move forward to achieve his goal. He never will hurt other but doesn't mean he will let other trample him, he is really diligent, smart and wise. An actual great ruler, who will never put his emotion on his people matter. Truly truly formidable character.

Personally I feel the MC is a character who really lacks in characterization from start to finish.

Like sometimes she is cruel, sometimes she is scared, sometimes she is weak, sometimes she is brave etc. Actually it's good to have characters who have a lot of diverse emotions, but unfortunately none of those emotions are represent or dominate, this makes the MC like a person who has multiple personalities.

which makes MC look unreal and has no visible character development.

As for ML, many readers think he is a typical cold character.

In fact he wasn't the type of character who had a cold nature, He was a character with a mental illness. Unfortunately no one understands this.

Yes I know both of them are antagonist characters, But both of them are not wrong to be like that.

The empress in her first life was angry with ML at a young age which is natural considering her condition should be able to get married with good prospects, but in the end she must married to a mute person who has a slight mental disorder.

The fact that empress herself can realize her mistake when she grows up and repent, it's already good.

As for the ending in the last life, from ML's point of view, the Empress might seem to betray him. But in reality it happened because of the accumulated depression, from his first child who killed by Qiao's concubine.

Plus, ML is an apathetic person who cannot give the empress a sense of security for the loss of her child.

So it's no wonder she would sacrifice everything to protecd her last child.

The same goes for Ruan Siyi.

The inability to keep going, caused only because he was the second child, was basically enough to drive him crazy. And as if that wasn't enough, he had to be cheated again at his wedding.

But sadly none of the readers understand how terrible this is.

What I found quite amazing in this story was my change of perspective when the ML's tr*shy uncle and his family was introduced in the story. At first, I found them very annoying and had thought they would have a terrible ending or something like most ML/MC in other novels did when dealing with tr*shy relatives. However, I was surprised when the ML and MC treated the tr*shy relatives as a type of amusement and even made it a game. It made me from being annoyed at them to finding them amusing as well. The family was dealt with in the end in a surprisingly harmonious and kind of funny manner.

The main issue I have, which caused me to give it such a low rating, is the FL's plot armor.

Despite how far the story progressed, the FL in my opinion didn't do much. She pretty much lucked out at each instance, and for most part being saved/ protected/ tolerated by the ML. This was something I had the most issue with, as I can't help but ask "why is the ML so devoted/ accommodating?".

I have no issues with devoted/ accommodating ML, but I find that they went overboard in this story, which became a turnoff for me.

Overall, it is an easy and enjoyable read, and I do encourage people to read it. However, do note that for those who prefers strong FL, they may not enjoy this as much.
