Fake Slackers

Description

Links are NOT allowed. Format your description nicely so people can easily read them. Please use proper spacing and paragraphs.

After class placements were decided, the school’s two infamous ‘problem youths’ not only shared the same class, but the same desk.

They’re clearly good at studies, but pretend to be slackers. Fakers from head to toe who just keep walking farther down the path of their performance.

Heard through the grapevine about the two big brothers who always fight over the last place in class.

Basically, this is a serious comedy. About the little matters of growing up.

I'm not stingy when I give a review but my standards are not low either.

At first, I'm barely giving this a 4 ⭐ because I've seen the manhua it's really pretty so I became highly interested with the novel, but I felt great amount of boredom while reading this because of the repetitive plot... They'd have class, fool around, exam, class, fool around.... so on.

However, there were parts that really made it worthy to read... like the reactions of their classmates and teachers when they found out about them being... more>> fake slackers. And also some relatable situation with their parents...

What really made me give this a slightly higher rating of 4.5 ⭐ is the extra chapters... I was not satisfied with the ending, it felt weak, but reading the extra chapters intensified my good feelings for the novel, I actually cried because of it lol. <<less

It was a great novel. I am super excited for the manhua to come back from hiatus and hope that it doesn't leave out details from the novel. I think that the side stories would've been great but I never read them. This is a story worth reading if you are debating whether to read it or not. Though the beginning is a little slow, it explains a lot about our MC's family and situation. The entire novel is completed on aggressor websites since you have to pay for the... more>> novel on the official translator's website. Someone, please translate the side stories! The ending is kind of hanging because it doesn't explain what happens after they graduate so I'm hoping the side stories tell the rest of the story. <<less

Theres barely any angst and after all the usual author suddenly bullshits angst in the middle of fluff, this kind of story where its sweet and gets sweeter and sweeter is heartwarming and heals the soul

Theres no spoilers because if I start spoiling I will gush out everything and anything because its so cute <<less

Just finished it after many many nights of insomnia. What can I say?

It's very slice of life, with a humorous cast, and the dynamic between the main duo is just plain amazing. I loved the side characters as well, although I feel like there could have been a few more things added. I think it would be better if some of the side characters appeared more and were explained better like Xie Yu's dad who who never really knew about except for a few facts. Also, I think Xie Yu's... more>> backstory was never really explictly stated with details, so maybe something more clear and with substance for that.

Apart from that, I think it's a great comfort story to read on a bad day to just help relax a bit. It's just a cute little novel about two immature teenagers growing up and falling in love (although it's a tad unrealistic, the parts with the app was really fun for me to read). Personally I felt like it deserved a 4.5 because it's a great read for people who are into that type of stuff, but personally I like my books with a bit more action and fantasy elements, and because of the side characters which I think could have been expanded on more.

Overall, I do recommend reading this book if you enjoy lighthearted books that are just sorta fun to read without any MAJOR drama or cliches like oh no love rival, oh misunderstandings and breakups everywhere, etc. It's just tooth-rottingly sweet and enjoyable.

One last thing I have to say: May the memory of Class 3 never fade! Thank you, author, for writing such an amazing novel! ≪3 <<less

Here's my review fresh off my head after just finishing ch.112. I feel obligated to say that this novel was just as I had anticipated. Ever since finishing 'A Certain Someone' back in june, I became totally obssessed with slice-of-life/school-life romance. This novel wasn't as heartrending and in-depth with the attachments that Xie Yu and He Zhao both had in respect to their families and upbringings (not as dysfunctional LOL). The writing of this novel felt more optimistic. It similiarly brimmed with a sense of youth though (as it was... more>> intended to). And in comparison to moumou, Fake Slackers doesn't feel shallow even in face of the lack of the adverse circumstances. Reading this really evoked a sense of nostalgia for my own younger years. Without saying too much, I think that this novel is great overall, and a must-read. Trying to convey the sentimental feelings I got from this sweet novel makes me feel a little helpless. Just, so good, ahaha- TwT

-TLDR even tho I was too incompetent to write anything:

This novel was everything I had hoped and wished for it to be and I feel so fulfilled and sad at the same time... <<less

A good slice of life story. It start slow, then becoming more interesting & funny as the story progress. MC is an ice cube in an unfortunate circumstances that leaves him no choice but be a fake bad student, while ML is a free-spirited, happy-go-lucky man who hid a wound inside his heart that makes him choose to be a fake bad student. The pacing is nice, the conversation is funny, the characters growth is inspiring. A feel good story not to be missed.

Ahm, if you love fluff stories with a bit of slice of life I think you'll enjoy this. As for my part, I actually love those themes but probably it's my preference's fault since I didn't enjoy this as much as others. The start of the story would catch your interest but when they got together idk after that it just gets draggy. I love cute interactions okay? I really love Xie Yu since he always do the initiative when it comes to getting intimate with He Zhao which I... more>> find rare in cnovels. I mean, instead of the shou getting flustered all the time, it was the opposite when it comes to their relationship haha.

Everyone must still give this a read, it really just depends on your preference. Aside from being draggy, one thing that doesn't keep me going is the repetitive scenes~ <<less

Another precious gem!! This story is super heart-warming one! It really heals my heart from so many dog blood in other novels I've read.

This story is about the two great Gods of slacking. Their names were He Zhao, our gong and Xie Yu, our shou. They are actually super genius, super talented and super scary-is what their whole school thought-. In reality though, they use their brains to compute on how will they going to be rank in the lowest and most problematic child in their whole school, they used their talents for fun and the fact that they used their fists to protect is something only they, knew.

And that's how things were supposed to be until the end of every year but unexpectedly this two happened to be in the same class and in the same desk! Oh you don't want to imagine how my heart tremble out of excitement everytime He Zhao teases Xie Yu and everyone in the class were on the edge of their seats thinking they're going to fight, they didn't even dare to breathe! I'm laughing to death in most of their scenes especially when all of their classmates realized that the Big bosses were not actually bad and they started to got along!

I love the way the author kept their whole class united and full of fun and cries until the end. There's this one scene wherein their whole class got into a fight with another class and their battlefield is within a game and even the top 1 in their class, who didn't even play a single game in her life, wanted to beat the asses of the bastards from another class! I'm telling you guys, this fight was epic! Their ingame team names were hilarious but of course He Zhao's and Xie Yu's ingame names were even more hilarious!

So if you wanted a lot of laugh and wanted some butterflies in your stomach, I highly recommended this one~

This is a genuine heartwarming story with satisfactory conflicts solutions and well-written characters. I’m not only attached to the main characters, but also the side characters. Hell, I’m even attached to the principal and their teachers. It has the best comedy perfectly fit for my dumb humor.

Overall, I rate it 4/5 for the story as I’m not quite satisfied with the ending. Still, it’s worth reading and finishing. Praise to the Author and the Translators.

Fake slackers is such a good, beautiful novel! It really is! It's like a chicken soup mixed with dog food and comedic undertones along with a coming-of-age concept. Reading this was actually pretty inspiring too! I feel more motivated to put in more effort when doing whatever in order to <insert one of the Dean's many motivational speeches found throughout the novel>.

The romance was very cute, fluffy, and pure... and all the interactions between the MC, ML and their classmates were very well written that I kinda got jelly of... more>> all their experiences lol.

Anyways, this is definitely a must-read (and a re-read, whenever you feel mentally drained and lost) <<less

One of the best!

This story is special. Let's first talk about the MC and ML-

The MC isn't your typical shy type MC but he's a "Mary Sue". His attitude is "solve everything with fist, talking is useless" because he rarely talks (literally). In a world where 99% is unlucky, he's that 1% lucky person. ML isn't the typical black-bellied, super rich, strict, super calm, and OP ML. He's a type of ML who is scary when angry but super playful when not. He likes to make random jokes and tease... more>> everyone especially the MC. He's also the perfect definition of a henpecked husband. He wouldn't do anything the MC doesn't approve of (and vice versa) because they respect each other's decisions. Also, ML is boastful not with himself, but with MC.

The plot itself was really good. It's light and enjoyable although some of it are slightly unrealistic. It's also uncommon and the genre was distributed just right. The side characters isn't there just as accessories. They have their own individual personalities and stories.

You'll really feel the equality? Between the gong and shou. Their relationship isn't too sweet but enjoyable to read, and their development's pacing is just right. The story shows the big differences between their personalities but also their similarities in terms of likes and dislikes so as the maturity of their mentality. It also shows how the two of them fits each other just right to the point it is hard to imagine the other person being with a different party. I don't know how to describe this story properly, it's just A MUST READ BL story. <<less

First time writing a review here! I simply felt too moved and absolutely had to take a moment and five star this national treasure of a story. It's totally a feel good, hilarious, warm and fuzzy type of read. It has just the right blend of humor, cute moments, and sexy streaks. Although I'm usually more of a pwp/smut reader, I've read this book more than twice and listened to the audio drama multiple times as well. I totally recommend the audio drama as well, it really gives the characters... more>> more life when you reread later!

I want to recognize He Zhao for being, hands down, the most shameless and hilarious ML in the history of ML's. His straightforwardness is refreshing, in both relationships and school. Xie Yu, the MC, isn't too shabby either, he's a violent tsundere but he undergoes subtle changes as well, which makes him more adorable.

The extras available in the Taiwan edition are mmmmmmmmhmmmm. :) On that note, all 4 extras of this book are filled with dog food. Hehehe.

Spoiler

More than just the extras, half the book is filled with dog food because they get together before the halfway mark! I love stories like that. I'm always a bit sad when the story ends right when the couple finally comes together.

I like the characters. The plot is also simple. And this is slice of life with comedy. The translation is also good. Though I sometimes get bored in some chapters, but it is because I feel too old (24) for this. This works for those young at heart, or that is full of dreams.

P.S.: this is a good read, though, worth to read, or else I won't invest time and money for this novel. ❤

Plot: 4.5/5

Character: 5/5

There is character growth throughout the whole story and it made me happy to see them grow and overcome the difficulties in their life.

... more>> The novel talks about personal issues, family issues and the educational system so for me I think that the plot is very well done.

Plus the MC and the ML are really cute together. Like the MC is the cold exterior but the warm interior kind of person. He was quite quiet and cold at the start of the novel but after being in the same class as the ML he started to warm up to others and care for others in his own manner. The ML is the kind that smiles all the time but you won't know what he is thinking. He jokes around very often and honestly, I think he can get an oscar award for his acting skills!! Reading the interaction between him and the MC or even with other characters really made me laugh alot.

Overall, I think it is a well written novel. However, I think the translator for this novel decided to charge money for the chapters they translated so you may have to find another source to read from. But I guarantee you that this novel is worth reading!! :) <<less

The story is cute, as expected of a HS romance. ML & MC made a good pair & their transformation was fun to watch. The supporting classmate characters were amusing as well. My chapter count probably isn't accurate because it's been so long since I read this story & I had forgotten why. I probably won't finish this story because it's nothing new or surprising & I'd rather spend my remaining "carrots" on a more captivating story.

As others have noted, be prepared to pay to read past chapter 29 with... more>> this one. <<less

i’m crying... this is so, so good... it was beautifully written, a balance between comedy, fluff, light angst, violence, slice of life, and romance. I always had a soft spot for coming of age theme, and this book didn’t disappoint me. some scenes left me laughing, some made me covered my mouth in muffled scream, and some made me want to pat their heads and told them what an adorable dumbass they are.

the visualization was so vivid, I could actually picture their classroom and the places they went to, and... more>> when it got near the end, I kind of felt a sense if longing and wanting to go back to when it first started.

it was that good, idk what to say <<less
