By some freak coincidence, Song Ci mistakenly consumed the blood of the Demon King, causing himself to become a demon too. A weak scholar…… forced to suffer in silence.

What was even more tragic was that no matter where he went, demons would attack him from all directions braying for his blood, or they would squeeze his neck while interrogating him about his relationship with the Demon King.

As such, Song Ci became an anti-fan of the Demon King. Regardless of who praised the Demon King, he would be the first to stand out and refute them.

Personal enjoyment 3.5/5. The beginning and middle were funny, but after the reveal the story just did a weird turn for me. It was a cute and lighthearted concept and then the author just tried turning it into something super serious with time travel and 180 personality changes to the MC that made no sense

LOVED this one! The plot is really well linked with not only the main but super nice secondary characters!

The Main character was tricked 3 years ago to drink from this fruit that was in reality blood from The demon King. He became then half demon, so he travel all this time looking for The demon King so maybe he can fix him to be human again.

So finally he ends up meeting a very powerful Daoist monk who tells him that he can help him to go to the Demon Realm... more>> (were The demon king is)

Soooo the funny part, this Daoist monk is THE DEMON KING HIMSELF (is not spoiler, is pretty clear from the start) but he is totally oblivious all the time and make really good comedy relief!

Of course, with the days go on, their conexxion goes more farther than a simple friendship :P <<less

Cute and lighthearted, a pretty average webnovel. The plot takes a while to get going and I liked the interactions between the protagonist and the side characters (eg. The wolf pup) coz they were pretty cute. I wasn't really a fan of the time travel plot in the second half, and I skimmed the last few arcs.

A pretty good story... action filled and good story line... Great characters.... loved it... but this is a part of a trilogy and hence the entire story is not complete... it is to be continued... but this couple's story as the main lead ends in this book.... all in all a good and interesting read... thanking the author and the translator for bringing us this piece of gem...

The review that got me to pick up this novel said something along the lines of: 3/5 quality, but 5/5 enjoyment-- and I will echo that sentiment.

Shockingly, my interpretation of that three-star rating does not really have to do with the plot (s). I found the narrative pretty coherent, and while there were a good amount of "mystery" sort of subplots, they do not necessarily require for you to pay attention to the smallest details. You are usually just finding out what happened right alongside the protagonist. If you are... more>> looking for nail-biting suspense, just look elsewhere. which is nothing to scoff at from a writing standpoint.

My affection for the MC and ML are also pretty solid, their backstories are decent, and I at least have a sense of who they both are as characters. The actual development they go through varies. The MC has an arc, but a lot of the ML's motivations have already come to pass. The secondary characters are also not bad for the most part... The lack of decent women in the cast definitely is worth a grimace though. We have something like four horrible women, at least one victim with very little development, one competent woman who shows up for two chapters, and

This is not a profound novel that moves you to tears (though I did cry) and leaves you aching with the cruelty and unfairness of established power structures (though it does arguably also make commentary there as well) -- This is a (mostly) fun time. This is fools to lovers. They end up happy and sweet and together in the end.

In the end this book leaves you with the feeling like you ate a can of whipped cream. Was it an elevated experience? Did it leave you more cultured? Are you better as a person?

It's about a young man who had an incident which finished with him consuming the demon king's blood and making him a demon. The MC obviously does not like that but that's not everything because all type of demons keep attacking him to get his blood. The novel tells us all different adventures he has during his trip to find a cure and become a human once again.

Before starting a new book I tend to read a few reviews (without spoilers) to decide which one to star first. This one... more>> was an exception, the reviews were not as good as expected as I read people's deception reading the last chapters.. But my desire to read it won over it.

And now that I have read it.. I must admit they were

The first three arcs were better than the las two. But this comes from my opinion and judgement about time travelling.

So I spent those whole chapters with a kind of disgust as I was not swallowing it. But in the last arc, the author kind of explain it and I decided to just accept it. (At the end I ended up wanting to read it again so I could enjoy it like it kinda deserved.)

About the final battle, the reviews said that it was too quick and blah blah blah but actually I did not feel that. The whole book has been telling us that Rong Bai is the strongest among the six realms with a great difference, there was no one even near to his power, not even Song Ci (?).

So when we have the villain in front of us, in the final battle, we all know that even Song Ci could easily win, so obviously Rong Bai could too. And so that's what happens and I'm pretty happy about that. I'm tired of having these situations where they tell us 'x' character is super strong, but when the final battle comes, the vilain gains a leveling up just to be able to compete against 'x' at the same level (somehow). That's not necessary!

Another point I do not agree with the reviews is the OCC the Song Ci gains at the end.

In the last arc, Rong Bai says himself that leaving the dream realm is not that easy as 'going there going out' and that's it. No. There are consequences, and Song Ci's was having all of that resentment against everything alive excepting Rong Bai.

The characters are. so. lovely.

I mean, I fell so in love with the main couple and all the side couples. I even got more invested in the side characters as I read those arcs... For once that's good because it shows you don't need to read a lot to get attracted to, but it's sad because you ended up wanting more.

For the second arc, I fell so much in love with Fu Chi-- OMG my boy, my little and cutest boy. I cried so much while reading his story... And even though it all ended well I am so sad that the author didn't give us anything more about them at the end.

And same with the third arc's couple. I grew up so involved with them-- I couldn't stop reading, I needed to know what happened to them.

So to sum it up, the main points about his book are:

  • Foxes
  • Super cute main couple
  • Amazing side couples
  • Really well translated story
  • If you want to understand everything, you need to read the other books of the same author
  • Funny
  • Have I said foxes?
  • Drama
  • And more foxes
What else to say? If you feel like reading it, don't mind the reviews and just do it. It is really worth it!

It took me two tries to read this novel but I finally finished it. Let me start by saying that this novel has some good points. The characters are great, well fleshed out, and I love them. The main couple is sweet and adorable, the side couples are fun to read about, and overall, the plot is entertaining.

However, the downside to this novel is that the plot is like a rabbit warren of ideas that don't actually flow together that well. A lot of the plot feels like filler and... more>> jumps between tropes like the floor is lava. I can't say it was a satisfying read, but I did like the characters enough to power through. <<less

3.5 It has a great premise. I loved that there were cases they solved. I actually hoped they solved more cases. This story seems overloaded with background info and CP but only because this is a part of closely related novels. The way this was written is like complicated things all around which eventually comes into place at the end but put unnecessary stuff there and yes it was pretty annoying at times but the start is really great. The ML gets jealous but he just usually glares when someone... more>> gets clingy to MC but does hinders him from making friends. I mean basic human right but this is BL so that made me kind of like this ML. The MC feels foolish because yo he did not know this world before. I liked his clinginess to the ML, like the right amount of sweetness and he's not one of those MC who gets teary eyed with peach blossom eyes. Niceee. <<less

Twas cute. I had quite alot of fun reading it. And I loved all the characters so much. (Really wish we got more of Wen ChangGu, he was hilarious)..

They were definitely some loopholes in the plot, and the last Arc had me a little confused, but all in all, it was an enjoyable read (binged it in 2 days too).

Firstly, I do not agree with those who compared this with mdzs and tgcf.

This novel might have some potential but it was not well executed. Many things happen just for the sake of plot convenience.

But it's not bad either.

Tbh I really love this one, as much as the other 5 star reviews. But honestly, if you're a big fan of mdzs, nan chan, those kinda arc stories where the MC and ML experience together and then fall in love, only to finally get to the main point of their own story, this falls flat compared to those. Nonetheless I somehow prefer this, I can see how people would not like the flow of this story though, especially the last 20-30 chapters. The front part of the story consists... more>> of them going to different towns, involved in side characters' stories, those wre refreshingly good. Once it reached chapter 70 or so, sh*t broke lose, and it becomes messy, and tbh *a BIG thing EVERYONE needs to know before reading this?* is that this is just one oart of the series, the questions we have remained unanswered, the other books of this series is untranslated sadly.

this book has time travel in it, and sadly, it ain't executed well. Though, it does leave you with excitement as the last few chapters, feel like the climax (when it should have been concluding lol) plot holes are there, but tbh the main couple does outshine that fact. I do love their dynamic, and there was one scene that stuck with me the whole novel, which is to say, the romance in this? 5/5. Plot? A 3/5, therefore, 4/5 average.

i would encourage anyone reading this to read the novel though, it got me on the edge of my seat like 60% of the time, lol. <<less

One of my absolute favorite BL novels.

The story arcs are not boring, they are not draggy unlike other xianxia novels. I like that the MC is very likable and their story are fully fleshed out.

Highly recommended!

I definitely recommend this novel!

The beginning is great. I love how each characters are introduced. It made me want to read the author's other novels.

As the story progresses, I like how the author showed the thoughts and emotions of the MC in the various situations he ends up with.

Not much romance written but you'll have to read between the lines. Be imaginative. 😉 The ending gave me closure.

Although it was a bit slow at the start, as the story progressed I got more eager to read it. It has the comedy and the angst (༎ຶ⌑༎ຶ) I like in a novel. One of the best readings I ever had. The only sad thing is that the other two novels are not translated, I really want to read about Mo Zun : (

However, I'm still reluctant to read the one with the ninth prince (╯=▃=) ╯︵┻━┻

I know everyone is having mixed reactions to this novel, but for me I actually really liked it. Their relationship is cute asf, even though it would have been even better if we got to see more of how they fell in love. One thing that I was disappointed in was that there wasn’t a set confession scene. I know they said ily in the later ch, but I wanted more depth. Over all it’s a good story that’s easy to read and has likable characters.

I read this, I dunno, a year ago??? As I remember, the story didn't really stick to me. It's only that part near the end that I remember clearly, and somehow dragged the story up a few stars. Well, it's not that bad. If it's bad I couldn't have finished it. It still depends on the reader's taste, if u planned to read this then read. If not then at least give it a try, see if it's to ur liking :)

I actualy had drop it at chapter 8, it was just not interesting and too slow, but I picket it up again and I have to Say I really enjoyed it! Finished it in two days or so 🙃

It's a side story of another book so is understandable many details and characters are not too deep and the story seems superficial, but I just loved the main cp and how they came about, it has sad and funny, but mainly it's fluffy.

There is not much I can Say about it,... more>> but it was worth reading and I'm looking forward to read the other books just for this cuples posible apereance.

May read again afther the other volumes.

I agree with those who says that first half of the novel was good and interesting but later part felt fake and forced, especially main couple's relationship and all the drama. I was more interested in side characters relationship tho. But by no means it is bad reading, I still would like to read authors another work which is like continuation to this one but about another couple, sadly its not translated yet
