By some freak coincidence, Song Ci mistakenly consumed the blood of the Demon King, causing himself to become a demon too. A weak scholar…… forced to suffer in silence.

What was even more tragic was that no matter where he went, demons would attack him from all directions braying for his blood, or they would squeeze his neck while interrogating him about his relationship with the Demon King.

As such, Song Ci became an anti-fan of the Demon King. Regardless of who praised the Demon King, he would be the first to stand out and refute them.

Song Ci fled for his life as he searched for the gate leading to the Demon Realm. Along the way, he clung on to the thigh of an influential man, and went to great pains to persuade him to slay the Demon King together with him and restore peace to the human world.

I had a lot of expectations from the author and the story but I ended up disliking the novel.

I just couldnt like the MC or ML though in the beginning I seemed to have liked both of them a lot.

I think the side character and their stories were much more interesting and had a lot of potential of becoming a full fledged novel.

My lack of intrest starts when the MC comes to know about the tye real identity of the ML. I feel like the author tried to hard to... more>> make the back story of ML angsty and sad and it kinda starts becoming fake. The reaction of the MC and the what follows all seems fake. The MC comes out as annoying and trying too hard to look funny.

The ending is also kinda abrupt and not satisfactory.

The translation did an awesome work so thank you to them for translating this novel. <<less

I simply love this, truly truly. I feel sad that it ended so fast, a hundred chapters was too short. Anyways, I love this I can't put it into words.

I love that this story doesn't only focus on romance. In fact the romance came a bit late and there're plenty of build up so it doesn't feel awkward at all. It's been a long time since I've last give 5 star rating to a story.

The last chapter is really graphic tho, lol. I didn't expect that remembering the extent of the story is a steamy kiss.

I really like the plot and the fluffy moments and the hidden potential CPs in this story. The ending is sufficient enough for me but still lacking insights about the Devil Lord Mu Ge...I wish he had a different extra for his story and that Niang guy... By the way, this is a good read to past time the whole plot may sound cliché to some, it was still a good story nonetheless.

I love this story. You can feel there love for each other and you also feel there pain they go through. It also funny at times. I recomend this story. Could it have been better and less rushed at the end yes but for me it didn't matter as the love they have for each other was just perfect.

Really dig the main CP whose love story literally spans the eons of time ^ ^ and who actually properly 👏 support 👏 each 👏other 👏 through tough times (i.e. getting past their horrific childhoods). True love right there. The MC is likeable and fun, and the ML's mysterious/cool nature complements well.

I found the plot points to be pretty creative and fantastical. No complaints here.

A minor issue I felt were the occasional bumps in the natural flow of the narrative when random characters would come from nowhere or there'd be... more>> a seemingly sudden personality shift... It could be that this makes sense in the context of having read the author's other novels that featured some of the characters in here, but I haven't so this lead to random bouts of confusion. I have been having trouble completing many novels if I found it unsatisfactory. The plot which this novel has is just right because if it is also dragged too long, it will no longer suite the character development the author has made for the novel.

I could say that this novel is a masterpiece with an excellent world building. One thing I loved is that it didn't make me feel so much angst. I really hate that angst feeling since it usually makes me unable to complete a novel.

I liked the characters individually and as a couple. Song Ci development was good and Rong Bai is incredibly lovely.

The plot felt a little bit random and nonsense at some moments but I guess it was because a haven't read the previous works... despite of that, it was an enjoyable novel.

This novel is excellent. I only wish the other two novels in the series were translated, so that we weren’t left with so many loose ends. Having said that, this novel is wonderful, and reading it standalone will in no way negatively affect your experience. Each arc is very well done, all having something to look forward to, and doing something to push the plot forward.5/5

When I saw the summary, I thought the novel is a modern fantasy.

But its not. (im so dissapointed.)

Anyway, I hate and love this novel.

hate because its somewhat gave me a 'random' feeling to it and love because of Rong Bai and the scene where 'Changchu' died ♪ ♬ ヾ (´︶`♡) ﾉ ♬ ♪ it breaks my heart perfectly. I cried.

So I just finished this after binge-reading it for two days, and I have got to scream Song Ciiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!

Honestly, I loved almost everything about it. There were some bits that dragged a bit for me, but I think that was more because of my desire to get that ship satisfaction than the bits that "dragged" in the novel genuinely being boring.

I was surprised to like this so much, but I really did! The character's all have flaws and virtues, and lots of character growth. The relationship comes along nicely, in... more>> my honest opinion!

The story has enough twists and turns to keep you wanting to read on despite it being way past the time you ought to go to sleep, ahaha. It has a really good pace, not too fast and not too slow.

I'll be doing my re-read of it in a few days (a slower re-read), but I can't see my lovely opinion of this story changing, so take this as my finished review! <<less

OMG, I loved this fic 🤗. I loved how Song Ci slowly transformed from a coward who only knew how to run away, to a badass.

I also liked how Rong Bai has always always been a doting ML. The extra chapter was hot AF

12-04-20 Just finished reading. This is one of the fluffiest, funniest, amazing journey so far, alongside with the lovable Master Rong Bai x Song Ci. Gonna miss them! I also very fond of side CPs, looking forward to their own journey.

I just ended this novel. All I can say is that it was good. Really good. I did not expect to like it this much.

I give it 4.5 rate because the first 50 chapters were not as entertaining as the latter 50.

I fell in love with latter part of the story so much. I'm not talking about the main characters because everyone have our own opinion. I love them, you might not. It's your problem, not mine.

I wrote this review because I loved this novel and know I'm very sad to part with it. And that who ever comes upon it should read it.

The story was really good! The many mysteries that get unraveled are so fun to read!! They always are.

I really liked how morally gray the MC was! He's so funny, like deadass insulting one of the strongest and most scary people within the six realms, to his face!! And he LET him WWW

Ww I really liked side CPs too!! Obviously I like the main one too!! You can literally see that is mutual that you have to be blind to not see that they're in love!!!!! Not unlike other novels... more>> where the MC is literally coerced into the relationship, and is coerced into doing the PAPAPA.

Also also, the translation was really good!!!!! It was smoothly translated and easy to read!!!!

All in all, great story, great cp and a great translation!! I'll definitely recommend it to YOU!!!!!

a beautiful and soft story about unveiling the past and present mysteries with/for the loved one. ML is really gentle and indulgent and really supportive of MC. MC is a coward and cautious at the beginning but slowly develops into a strong minded brave fox. ML is the best boy and no one can change my mind.

I was just recently done reading this novel. Honestly, for me, I want to recommend this novel to other fellow readers cause I love the mini-arcs and the characters arcs of this novel. This is already added to my list of favorite BL novels. Personally, I'll be bold enough to say that this is one of the underrated novels despite it being just a part of the main series.

The mini-arcs are all about love. Both mini-arcs have their own "main characters" that suffered from their journey in love. Especially the... more>> second mini-arc, my heart breaks for the 'shou' of that story. His life was a tragedy and he wasn't supposed to experience love but because a certain Immortal made a mistake thus, it added to his list of tragedies that the character has to experience. It was heartbreaking, honestly.

Also, I would like to say this, the mini-arcs happens as the main couples of the novel journey towards the demon realm, which is in connection with the synopsis:

which is all this time the MC is not aware that the man, which is the ML, is the demon king.

I'm saying this so that, you won't be confused. As they go on the journey, the ML has to do something that is connected with the main series but rest assured you won't be confused because the author will mention why he is doing it. At least, you are given a heads-up. All we can do is wait for someone to translate the main series.

Regarding the plot, I love how the author uses the time-traveling, it wasn't confusing at all despite that this novel is a part of the series. I also love how the author shows and tells us the background of each couple. Usually, it mainly focuses on the shou but this time, the author also focused on the uke.

Also, I like how the side characters are not only mentioned in passing, all of them have a connection. All of them have reasons why they were introduced despite, as I said earlier, that this is just a part of the series. They are mentioned in this novel so it is believed that they will be present in the main series albeit as a side character.

All in all, the plot is well-written and it was astounding. It is also heart-wrenching because of the couples' past. Both of them suffered, especially the shou, the author made me believe that he was living an easy life but oh boy! I was sorely mistaken. The shou has his share of tragedy and I like how the author:

Went with the direction of not forgiving the mother. It was his mother who put him in such a bad state and made him resent his life and wanting for a new one, which made him have a connection with the ML, thus the current story.

I already love this novel, now I'm looking forward to the main series. I just can't wait. I hope someone can translate it. I'll gladly support them!

P.S This novel wasn't supposed to be part of the main series and the main couples of this novel are side characters of the main series. This novel was created, I guess, I believe if I remember it correctly the readers ask for a separate story for our dear Song Ci and Tu Shan Rong Bai. Honestly, this novel has a greater opportunity to be just a stand-alone novel but I still love it, especially that the author didn't confuse me at least.

P.P.S A great thumbs-up to the translator. You have to check it out. It was an easy read because the dedication and effort were obviously seen in the translation. So Thank you! Translator-sama ♥

This is the year that I discovered BL and having read several novels already, this is one of my favorites. The plot was full of interesting characters and twists and turns that made me want to find out what would happen to them next. What I liked most was that the side characters were not simply introduced and then forgotten but were given there own stories to support the theme of the novel. There were parts that were disgustingly romantic but only in a way that makes you want to... more>> keep reading to be disgusted further. I liked that the couples in this novel were respectful of each other, which is a change from a lot of novels that have one side constantly being bullied. All in all a funny, sometimes heartbreaking, but ultimately fuzzy-feelings love story of fate and devotion. <<less

i started reading this before it was completed and I looooved this. Sadly (truly) my opinion changed after somewhere after chapters 85-90.

What happened? Why did the story quite literally fall through? I reread the begining and it was amazing and the potential of the story had me always waiting for new chapters.

I still recommend reading this, your heart is just going to break when you'll watch it all go to shit
