This is nice if you want to kill time with a doting, perfect male lead and a rational, beautiful, smart female lead

but apart from that, there’s nothing more to it. It’s cute but I’d say that there are two big flaws

- first : no real event in the story. She gets cheated on, then meets the male lead (whom she already knew in the past) and they fall in love/date. And that’s it. Of course, there’s a few side events, like her ex-boyfriend’s karma, her love rivals getting evicted, and... more>> her confrontation with her father, but there’s no real trial, no twist. It’s almost like there’s no story.

-second : the first flaw could be overcome if the story had something to distinguish itself. I’ve had some novels that had the same flaw like this one but we’re still good because they had an element in the intrigue that distinguishes them (like Love o2o : the passion of the characters for the world of the video games and the link that it creates with the real world succeeds in making what could have been an ordinary love story in something special)

so it’s kinda a pity, because it’s still a cute story nevertheless and I think an opportunity was missed here. Moreover, I have to admit : although I liked having a rational female lead for a change, it would have been nice if we could have felt more of her love towards the male lead. It was sometimes really annoying how we sometimes couldn’t feel anything from her who was supposed to like him

however, this isn’t bad. If you want a cute and simple story to relax your mind or kill time, this is a good choice. But just don’t expect anything epic <<less

Very different from your bread and butter cnovel. A very strong FL, disappointed by her former boyfriend puts up a strong defense in front of a -- theoretically -- overbearing CEO type ML, who is willing to go many extra miles for her.

The story is not very rich in content, beside the heart warming love story, and the pacing is slow to occasionally sleep inducing. But the flair is very satisfying for each woman with self-esteem and well worth reading.

Very Nice Slice Of Life Wonderful Novel with Wonderful Characters. It has very nice pace, not slow nor rush.

The ML is Absolutely BEST ML EVER!!! He tried to thickening his skin when courting MC, but also very Patient, and very Doting and Absolutely Devoted. He never back down nor being forceful. He's definitely henpecked husband!

The MC is Patient, Calm, and Smart. She wasn't Submissive nor Emotional or Aggressive. She's very calm handling unpleasant situations. This book is passable. While I like the author’s female leads in ancient novels, I think her female lead doesn’t work well in modern drama.

Rather than appear strong and independent the FL comes as selfish and lazy. She accepted all the ML good treatments with ignorance facade while deluding herself that she’s poor so that’s why she accepted it (btw she herself said that she can buy car and apartment from her saving). The ML also not realistic. Their interactions in the past were not enough to justify his deep love for her. At most it can only be regarded as crush. And its not believable when the FL doesnt recognize ML when in the university he was the president of student union where the FL also members of student union. They also interacted few times and with ML good looks and how everyone seems to know him its not believable for FL not to know him. Her best friend and classmates basically adore him as great God lol eventho you are dense you will know one or two great gods in your university moreover they were on same department. Its too far fetched.

Her so called personality is inconsistent with her actions. And a relationship is not good when only one ppl give and give and give. When everyone says they are a good match, its the author that wanted then to be a good match. For me men need to have their own dignity. To pamper and doting your loved one is good but to be a s*ave is not good. This will only works in the novel, with handsome and rich CEO ML. To have ML postpone or delay his works for FL, normal working men cant afford that.

This is one of the stories that makes female put their self in the character to feel good. It's too good to be true. Specially the Male Lead. I kind of also dislike how the author keeps saying that the female lead is so different from the female lead of other stories. I mean I already got that vibe so no need to mention it a tons of time.

But anyways, it was a good light read.

This is amazing! No 3rd party and too much melodramatic scenes, everything flowed out very naturally. The women portrayed are strong and independent, even the one who used to like ML.

MC isn't a 'devastatingly beautiful goddess' but only a 'pure beauty', I like how she dealt with things maturely (really makes me envious, ah) and how she isn't the weak cute type the other novel's protagonist are like.

As for the ML, he's very good and very hard to catch one in real life ? Just finished reading this novel and I would like to put this novel into one of my 10 favorites.

I really like the FL's character was like. She's strong, thinks rationally, calm, smart and adaptable, and independent. It's really an image many women would admire (including myself). I really like stories's FL with strong personality like Su Le.

The ML's set up as a rich, handsome, loyal, considerate and gentle man to FL, makes the two of them like a match made from heaven. The couple are a perfect match that makes... more>> people really envious. Peoples with personalities like Wei Chu and Su Le was a bit difficult to find in reality.

The romance between the FL and ML is pretty cute and flufy, but also contained a 'pure' atmosphere. Although the romance and the main leads characters were too good to be true that it's almost impossible, I still like this novel so much!!

As I read this novel, I thought about how a good woman will eventually find a good man who loves her and willingly spend the rest of their lives together, and the same thing goes for the opposite. <<less

Ahh the story is so cute! A lot of reviews here are complaining about how Xiao Le Le was “too cool” or whatever, but I prefer her to the classless ladies who would react at every single thing. And if you really look deeply, you can see that she also loves him so much. Definitely a match made in heaven!

What can only be called a shoujo Slice of Life targeted towards female audience, this is a sweet romance in which the sweetness comes from the romance itself. No baby bump sweetness or stuff like that.

We have a strong feminist female lead who prefers to live life as it should be. On the other hand, we have the Male lead who has had a huge crush on her for years before finally acting. His pursuit of her is pure vanilla and cotton candy.

Over all, this novel... more>> is just a lazy romance story which is a collection of such moments which you know can only be found in romance novels and books. The Male lead is scarily perfect and the female lead has a strong character which is steady. The side characters are agreeable.

So why not 5? For one, the female character is far too monotonous. Make no mistake, I am not against her ideals or anything but looking at her emotive skills reminds me of Dominique from The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand. It is just that her character is not interesting enough for me.

Then again, I am not the target audience. Also, something that I have an issue with is with the repeated projection of the views of the author regarding feminity. Is feminism wrong? Absolutely not. But I would prefer a story over a preaching. The author could have done better.

Lastly, the way people address each other. This is probably a lost in translation, but I absolutely hate it when people call each other CEO Chen or CEO Yun. A CEO is not a doctor yo!!

UPDATE: Just completed the series. Still a 4 for me as I am absolutely not the target audience, I feel. A fairy tale ending for the pure shoujo series. If nothing else, this is a good short read for someone to get some sweet reading without thinking much. There is proper closure to the series. <<less

Can you hate a man who contemplates getting plastic surgery because the woman who has his heart doesn’t want handsome men? Can you hate someone who, even though they’ve never liked cooking, learns to cook simply because their lady love likes to eating? Can you hate a ML who respects a FL? The last one sounds weird but so many male leads these days don’t respect the female lead it's horrifying so it was strangely touching.

Also, he’s rich, sooooo.... Added bonus. But then again, which ML isn't rich? Huh...

This book... more>> has my all time favourite trope of the guy chasing the girl. He waits patiently as she slowly falls for him and it’s too cute and fluffy and heartwarming for this novel to NOT have a permanent place in my heart.

And the female lead... aside from her mentioning EVERY OTHER PARAGRAPH that she wasn’t like the other female leads, she was pretty cool! She’s not the type to give her life up for a man. She has better things to focus on. And I admire this kind of Female lead because it's always an interesting read for me whenever I encounter them. It's a short story that I finished in one day! Although it's quite different from all the drama-filled novels that I usually read, it still left me just as satisfied, if not more, because it portrayed an uncomplicated, heartwarming love story between two independent people. It reminded me that love doesn't have to be heart-wrenching and go through numerous life-changing trials for it to be worthwhile.

I just reread this and remembered how refreshing it was to have a Chinese Novel that didn't have a ML who was overbearing with the FL or an FL who was supposed to be strong and smart suddenly turn weak and loose all her brains when the ML was around.

The characters in this are consistent, strong, and respectful of each other. There's no unnecessary drama, the cheating ex gets what he deserves (as does the girl he fooled around with), and the FL and ML have a strong, sweet relationship.

There's no conflict at all. ML's pursuer is a very respectable person. MC's ex bf, while not very respectable, doesn't even stand a chance at ruining the relationship. Everything is smooth sailing. MC is such a mature and stable person. Meanwhile, ML is a perfect man with golden retriever energy.

I like that they acknowledged that a big factor why MC got his success so quickly is because he was born in a rich powerful household. This is seriously one of the realistic novels out there (except the ML since he seems to be a rare breed lol). I looooooove how the FL isn't some dumb, weak female character who depends on a man. Short and lighthearted without too much drama. It was a decent read and the translation well done, though the author tried a little too hard with pushing forth the philosophy of "women don't need men" and "there's nothing wrong with being strong". The character's actions already speak for the dogmas and the added exposition in the form of mullings was not really needed. Other than that, it was enjoyable to read without frustration at the main characters.

Read this story as it was written by the same author of Eight Treasures Trousseau and To Be A Virtuous Wife so had kind of high expectations. So maybe due to my high expectations I found the story kind of boring.

The FL is very independent and a kind of girl who prioritize herself before anyone. Self loving. Whereas the ML dotes on FL alot and he is very understanding. Ay, I love this story. It has a calm and straightforward plot. Add to the point that me and the female lead actually have a pretty similar view about love and relationship.

I really enjoyed this novel and I'd recommend this to everyone.
