So Sweeet. It was totally different from all the other novels where MC and ML immediately fall in love with each other. The touch of reality was super sweet. It was not conflicting and had a beautiful humorous feeling to it. Even though I don't write reviews most of the time I just had to write something for this novel.

Regretting not knowing this novel long back.

The story is nice but it is kind of bland to me. It is the type of story that I cannot recall back to remember which it doesn't give any impact to me. It is nice to read but not really interesting as it doesn't really touch any of my emotions.

Very good short story with good pacing. Really loved the male lead, the main character was good too though she has her moments where she tries to ignore MLs feelings because she thinks it'd be better in the long run. I wish she would do just a bit more in the relationship, it feels like he did more for her (without being extreme or dramatic).

I wanted to like at least one work of this author. She writes really well, but her most famous and completely translated novels proved to be a complete turn off for me. Mostly because I don't get the mindset of the females she describes and I don't understand the world of Ancient China she creates in her novels. Relationships between women in her novels are way more complicated, nuanced and even difficult for me as a non Chinese reader to get, as if they were following some cultural rules, alien and incomprehensible to us, than between men which are way more universal, simply human and kind, full of goodness, foolishness, brilliance and camaradery. Women are so different in this novel, always dangerous and complicated, I can't relax when their inner states and thoughts or behaviors are described. I just don't get them.

However, in this novel the main character is a female writer herself and describes why she creates such female characters. If the author describes her own creative process in her, then I understand why it feels so artificial. Because it's ideal, it's not real.

This novel is unique. The MC is not a weak woman. Something that is rare in chinese novel. She is strong mentally. Some people maybe said she is cold to her partner but I think it just because she trust no man. Her father betrayed her mother. So she felt really hard to trust man. So she is not ready for new love. And when the new love did come. She is in denial. Try to ignore it by denied it.

The ML is god among men. Yup, he is really dedicated to his lover. Maybe some people will say it over reacting. But he lost it for the first chance because he is late in realizing his love. He is sad for it. But he got a second chance. For something he thought he cant get. Thats why he tried really hard to win it. No one will give up for a second chance to get what they thought it is lost. Fortunately because of his tenacity he got it. Bravo ml.

The story is slice of live. Quite interesting. What I love is the female lead rivals are not so s*upid like in other chinese nivdl. They could think (which is rare) when is the right time to give up and keep going on with their live. No need to keep pursuing the ML and tried to destroy the MC. So it wont end as 2d villain.

What I dont like is sometimes its too flat ^^ so I got bored in chapter 40 something. I just contiune read it to know what is the end.

Overall quite good but the virtious wife is much better. <<less

this is such a fresh start with a strong and independent woman as the FL who doesn't even cry right after a break up or resigning from her job.

but the story became bland when everything becomes too smooth or easy for her in all aspects. I just don't know, it's like it's too good that she didn't even have to give some effort (in her lovelife) since everything is already given to her.

5 stars for the story; 4 stars for the translation.

This is one of the sweetest, slice of life romances that I have ever read in CN.
Loved the FL and the ML. FL is a strong but not OP woman. She is clever, but not a genius. She is pretty but not to the point of being a goddess.

The ML at first appears to be the standard, rich, smart, powerful, good looking CEO from a prestigious family. But appearances can be deceiving :)

I loved how their relationship progressed. All throughout the story the focus was on how women first need to have self worth for themselves and not be pitiful lotuses clinging to males and how men need to respect their partners (wife/girlfriend) and be responsible, mature and steady when in a relationship.

Despite the realistic nature of the relationships and lack of extreme melodrama, there was never a dull moment as the story progresses.

There were a couple of typos I occasionally came across, but other than that the translator had done a good job in bringing in the essence of the story. Thank you Mini, for your hard work! :)

A good story, full of fluff especially with the male lead who was doting on the female lead since the beginning. In fact it was so much that sometimes it was exaggerated (cleaning, cooking, driving, laundry...) he was really like a servant. The most perfect no misunderstandings fluffy book that will have you sqweeling with awwws every 5 seconds. I would compare this with CEOs villainous childhood friend. So good! You can't go wrong if you are looking for some good fluff!

This story is exactly my cup of tea. It is relaxing, cute, fluffy and not too much drama... well considering MC doesn't like dramas she's like my ideal perfect MC ever! I honestly didn't even realize how much engrossed I was in this story when I finally saw read that it was the end already. Great read.

Loved the story. It was straight to the point with good characters. Even the villains are realistic. Not some mafia gang sh*t or anything over dramatic

Uhhh so to explain why I like this novel is because FL is steady rational but not cold woman. She doesnt avoid romance and not being inclined neither. She just calmly weigh every situation even her emations (for me it is the most cool point!!). ML also likes her while being aware of all these points and doesnt try change it either. He is the most sincere person that I read when pursuing his love within boundaries. I've avoided this story due to the description which doesn't due the story justice and some negative reviews. After a long time, I saw the title in a recommendation from another story I enjoyed so I went into the story not recognizing it was something I've previously avoided. Glad it happened so.

It is fluffy, with a bit of martial arts action, some third female lead but not too overboard. Love some of the comedic writing that had me laughed out loud. I see two people who grew up together and at some point, they've turned into a couple with "Mr. And Mrs. Smith" (an American movie with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt) relationship without the violence. Both scheming to outwit the other. It is well written and well paced. No fillers. The extras at the ties many of the ends together. I've debated whether if it is better to incorporate the extras into the main story or to leave as sides; depending on one's opinion, some may like to get to the conclusion sooner while others like to read a fuller bodied story. This is binge worthy, light, fluffy and funny. A pleasure reading. <<less

I really like this author’s view on the relationship between men an women. And this story is another excellent exemple of it.

Nowadays is very hard for a woman to find a good man, and a strong, independent and no nonsense woman has even a harder time, because most times, to find a good partner, you have to go through no good ones.

And when the time came for her to give it a shot with Wei Chu, who on paper seemed too good to be true she gave him a chance not because of the “on paper” qualities but because she payed attention who his real self was.

Wei Chu is also a good example of a good man. He went on with his life, never gave false hope to those who vainly hoped, and when he saw opportunity he took it and went with it, because second chances are very hard to find. <<less

Fluffy story, no drama/angst but the FL didn't really seem to be reciprocating the ML much. It looked like a one sided effort from the guy and to be honest, I felt bad for him.

No dog blood, coercion, revenge, ab*se, or misunderstandings.

The female lead is not Mary Sue, is not in danger and doesn't need help.

The male lead is a CEO, rich, handsome, but he is not domineering, forceful and doesn't controls the female lead.

A very simple afternoon type of romance story about a boy chasing a girl.

Not exactly my jam, but is a healthy story.

No big Drama, no overbearing CEO what pesters the FL and pretty much gets together with her in the 5 Chapters because he blackmails/pushes her into his Bed, just a story about a young Men in love with a Girl, and he does everything to get her as GF/Wife. I actually attempted to read this back when I was still testing CN novels. Back then, I was unfamiliar with CN idioms, style, culture, and the general atmosphere so in the end I dropped it. I decided to pick it up again and I am satisfied with it.

It's just a simple story between a man and a woman. There's no misunderstanding between them and def no r*pe. This is a down to earth kind of CEO unlike the typical cold and ruthless MLs.
