A sweet childhood friends become lovers story. Their meeting is due to absurd reasons and till the end, I don't understand if ML is truly sick or he was poisoned by his doc.

MC is very very naive it's unreal. I get how ML mom feels when she watches them and think how she didn't have a childhood lol.

Not perfect, but great at about 3/4 of it. It became boring to me at the end when things are great and smooth and everyone loves the super good looking super genius them bla bla like normal idol fluffy teen novels. But it's my taste only (I feel that idyllic part should be shorter by like 20 chapters), because for an idol teen fluffy novel, it gives what it promises, so I clicked 5 / 5.

What I love is the heart warming part at the front 2/3, the FL is... more>> a bit too naive even for a village girl but their interaction as children is really great. And the side characters are interesting, the character development of the ex actress mom, the girl from the village, the roommate. And FL's mom is good too, I can understand her heartache at having to 'sell' her daughter for saving her other son. There's a recurring message of how daughters are just as important as sons, I wonder if it is the author's own experience, but it is important and unfortunately that practice still exists until now.

Beautiful. Slice of life genre can bore you to death sometime. But this one manage to engage me to read until complete.

Highly recommended if u feel the need to taste some sweet and fluff after a dramatic read.

This story have a good lesson for me to learn. The FL showed me a beautiful example. Do not fear losing. Thats what makes life more bearable😊

5 stars to both author and translator.

I love childhood sweetheart story like this novel. MC and ML were really sweet and cute together. The plot was actually quite simple and there's really not much drama between MC and ML except:

That one time when they were kidnapped together when they're still a child. But that incident actually brought them closer to each other.

There's also some times where ML and MC agonized because of their change of feeling, from love between brother and sister to love between girl and boy, but it didn't take long for them to be together because of time skip in the story.

MC and ML were also very likeable although they seemed a bit too good to be true.

MC was a famous badminton athlete who never lose once during her career and she even got 2 gold medals from olympic game.

ML was a genius who often skipped grades because it wasn't that challenging anymore. He got first in college entrance examination and he also became the best graduate.

I especially like ML more because although he knew he had an advantage of being with MC earlier (since she will never refused his request although she was clueless about it), he still waited for MC to understand love by herself and develop feeling for him naturally.

As for other characters, I once hate MC's mother because she "sold" MC for the sake of MC's little brother but I forgive her after she took back MC with her even though ML's family already offered to adopt MC formally. She was also a very supportive mother who always respected MC's decision including her relationship with ML despite of her uneasiness. ML's mother wasn't perfect either. She was a busy actress who was rarely home but after ML was kidnapped, she retired from entertainment industry and learnt to be a good mother for ML. Other characters other than MC and ML's mom only came and go so I don't have much impression of them

I'm a bit disappointed with the ending though because it was so rushed compared to other chapters before the finale. Also, although they made a side story about Tan Jing (MC's bestie), the author seemed to forget about MC's brother and Little Ling. It's a pity though because at least I want to hear about how they're doing after all those years. <<less

aww this was pretty cute. Light and simple to read, nothing too dramatic; though I would say some parts are too fast-paced and any issue is solved immediately. Translations are good.

FL and ML are your typical mary and gary sue. While the ML's mom had a very "fun and cool mom" vibe, FL's mom had a more realistic side to her. Yeah she was wrong to sell off her daughter but other than that it was nice to see her mom being appropriately concerned over FL and ML's relationship considering... more>> how innocent FL is.

in short, this was pretty good but nothing to write home about. <<less

I think that slice of life genre wasn't supposed to be this empty... Nothing happens, it's just too easy and quite boring when you tried to binge read it. Even the kidnapping arc (there is a tag for it so it's not a spoiler) was a smooth sail, the kids played the house game in a harder situation. Anyway, the FL is too much of a simpleton for me but that's not by any means I'm dropping this novel because I hated it, I simply lost interest.

this is one of sweetest novel I read aaaaa~ the ML are very mature, respectful, and caring towards the FL I really really love them! &Lt;3 I wish I could spend my childhood with someone I'll be with together in the future that will be nice for sure lmao. FL is so pure and innocent she's so cute >.<

Very fluffy, adorable barely any angst! However this couldn't keep up with my attention span, I dont know whether it is because of my mood or just the story itself but it didn't appeal to me as much. Although I do like other stories like this.

I do like the ML as someone who will never take advantage of MC. Other mls pls take notes ahah. It wasn't annoying to read a super naive MC but she's very charming.

Overall, I like it but not so much.

The story is very fast paced and time skip. Imagine having 13 years are stuffed on 100 chapter, so yeah, very very fast paced.

1. What happen to the 'quack' Master that took MC to meet ml, I dont know if hes a quack or lucky lol, because ML really saved because of MC, the necklace he gave MC and ML also somehow save them.

2. ML dream of how his life will turn out if he didnt meet MC, most likely he died when he was kidnapped.

3. What happen to the girl who like ml, she did go to the MC tournament, I was hoping she become MC die hard fan after she see MC play, but author didnt follow up what happen after.

4. Who is the person who pretend to be ML girlfriend and text MC to dont bother ML ever again

The story is very slice of life-y with a lot of small time skips. Arcs are divided quite clearly and there are interesting points now and then. Childhood arc is definitely my favorite since a lot of funny things happened then and the kids' interaction is very cute. during kidnapping arc, the doctor doesn't seem to be working together with the butler initially or else the doctor wouldn't give out helpful statement for FL when ML having chickenpox.

The lead characters are very likeable; they are sweet and supportive to each other. But side characters are quite abandoned, for example

FL's younger brother, FL's friend from village that she rescued, and the metaphysical Master from early chapters. ML's mom was also very irresponsible at first but suddenly changed to be very good almost overnight (likely due to untimely timeskip).

It's kinda sad to see them to become plot point characters and later disappear in the background. It's likely that side characters didn't get much spotlight due to the story spanning from FL and ML eight years old to twenty something years old. But these side characters are lacking in development and could be improved to make this story outstanding.

The writing seems to also be quite jumpy. A lot of interactions that could make the story more interesting stopped just like that, and continued with a scene transition (I even checked the raw thinking TL missed something, but that's just how it is). It could be that this is one of the author's early works, or it could also be due to lack of editing. The story became much choppier than necessary, especially when short time skips happen in an untimely manner. So in this case, sometimes things can get a bit boring of how repetitive they are, or new developments are not interesting enough as they didn't get developed enough.

But overall, this is a nice light fluffy read about coming of age and adolescence. Chapters are also quite short, so it wasn't too long of a read. <<less

Cute slice of life story about two childhood best friends falling in love

The conflict is that they have two vastly different lives, one is an Olympic Athlete and one is a Scholar, so their worlds don’t intersect and they have to work to make time for each other

It’s cute and drama free and I recommend it

I suppose it's my fault for not paying more attention to the slice of life tag.

It was enjoyable, I liked reading when they were children. The contrast between the village and the city was pretty astounding especially the fates of the village children. However, in my opinion things fell flat when they became teenagers. Because legit

nothing happens. When I mean nothing, I mean no problems, no issues. Which is disappointing to say the least. I expected Lin Miao (FL) to suffer some losses in her tennis career. She does go through like a personal crisis after retiring asking herself what do I do now? But that gets resolved within the same chapter it happened so it wasn't impactful. The ML didn't go through some issues either. So it was just pure smooth sailing, only like one hiccup along the whole way.

As one reviewer commented our leads are very Mary Sue which is detrimental to this type of plot.

For me, this novel became something I read out of boredom. Do I recommend it? If you like fluffy moments, minimal to no issues, perfect leads then yeah this is the novel for you.

Though I think there were unresolved mysteries such as the need of someone that could help overcome tragedies of the male lead. Also, the story did not mention anything about giving half of her life aside from the fact that they male lead got better when she arrived. Yes, I know that it was already kind of explained thru the progress that he became well since he became motivated and active, but giving like a line or two or more detailed explanation for his changes might be good.
