The witch, Eleonora Asil, has fifteen previous convictions.

And the transmigrator, Noah Park, had no intentions of being involved in the novel’s original plot of the dragon beheading the villainess. With that thought in mind, she abandoned her title as The Wicked Witch and sought to live a long and peaceful life.

So she heads down to the countryside wrought with deep remorse for all her misdeeds. And all should be happy… or she thought.

“Please raise me!”

And so it would seem that she stumbled upon the heroine’s pet dragon — the black-haired kid that would turn ballistic and obsessive later on — imprinted the villainess as his mother. And to make matters worse, the male lead suspects her as the prime culprit of stealing the dragon.

“How long should I keep up with you?”

She thought he’d arrest her right away, but seems like the male lead was slowly becoming the dragon’s butler.

“Can I hug you?”

“No.”

“Then… can you hold me?”

The villainess believes that the dragon needs a bit of taming.

‘Oh, male lead, won’t you sign a life contract as a real butler?’

Came here after the manhwa, which is a very beautiful and easy read. But I knew there's something missing cause there's no way 294 novel chapters is less than 80 manhwa chapters. It's CRIMINAL the side stories are omitted, and the romance between Noa and Kyle are reduced.

Well, depictions of Noa's depression were also reduced, but maybe that's for the better when some people can't tell the difference between laziness and depression.

The premise is very unique and cool, plus the worldview being a mix of magic and industrial era. While... more>> the villains are quite obvious, there's still a sense of mystery and discovery. Of course, Mu makes everything better. There could and should be a little more romance, but nothing Mu cannot cover! <<less

I loved it so much!!! The author had a banger world building accompanied by very stylish scene depiction which I loved. They were also able to tie up the loose ends leaving me with no regrets or rather minimized my feelings of leaving the high of after-effects of reading a good af novel. I also beg to differ to those who was not in favor where MC occasionally takes action despite being labelled as lazy. If you really have read every single line in the novel you would understand the... more>> reason why.

Spoiler

The MC has depression and trauma due to her past family; but that doesn't mean that she can't think or is super perceptive and smart. She has exclaimed at some part that she is rather very normal.

[collapse]

I would like to claim instead that the author was able to build and guide the development of the characters (esp overcoming their trauma) well along with the creative banger of a storyline the author has put together.

To those considering of reading this, the novel was set in a magic + steampunk era akin to industrial revolution in a European setting. As it is also a mystery genre, there were indeed lots of mysteries and crimes to be addressed. The budding romantic relationship of the main characters was also very cute from head on that develops gradually as they tackle on their issues and their feelings. The author doesn't neglect the socioeconomic environment as well which is a huge plus for me.

Overall it was very worth the read I highly recommend it. 💕💕💕 <<less

I'm not rating this, because I dropped it due to issues not related to the story itself. This is only here for future readers.

Put simply, the translation is just plain hard to read. It's stilted, the sentences often feel like they are out of order, and it simply doesn't flow. There's a good chance it's an extremely literal mirror-translation, but in any case, here's a quick example from the third chapter:

A Sorrent in the south, far from the capital Tezeba. It was just a few hours ago that a man arrived in a country village with sheer coastal cliffs to the south, dense forests to the east, and fairy lakes to the west.

"I'm an investigator from Tezeba."

"Ugh."

The chief of the security forces of Sorrent, who was dozing off, leaped to his feet. Tezeba. It's the capital of Laurent. "Tezeba? Where do you belong?"

"Aijet."

The first district of Tezeba, the capital, was an area densely populated by high-ranking aristocratic mansions, including the great emperor of the Laurent Empire. There isn't any detective in those places! The manager fumbled about the desk for his glasses.

[collapse]

I think that whole scene kind of speaks for itself. To be fair, it might've been just as stilted in the original as well, but in any case, exchanges like this made reading this story a chore. The story didn't exactly grab me either, and the characters were either tired old archetypes (dark-haired-übermench-archetype stoic ikemen ML, two-faced child character who acts cute in front of the MC and acts like a jaded sociopath in front of others) or just straight up unpleasant (the MC is a lazy, irresponsible idiot who gets carried by the contrivances of the plot), so in the end, I decided I had better ways to spend my time, and dropped this. <<less

So far I relate to the MC, I have felt and done a lot of what she is shown to do ever since the covid crisis began and even though logically I know its bad for me I still keep falling into the lazy patterns, not eating at all or eating junk making a mess and being completely offended if its cleaned up. I think that this MC is in need of counselling for mental health recovery more then anything else, even her decision to send away the dragon is... more>> because she thinks she can't look after it rather then not liking or caring for it which as far as I can tell is why even though he keeps getting sent away he stubbornly chooses her, in 15 days she starts treating him as her son, its cute. I did like that the ML very quickly figures out that she is not the original and feels sorry for his actions after that. <<less

i was rather disappointed. I had really high hopes because I never saw that coming.

Spoiler

the original eleonora had returned to her orginal body and noah brought her own body into the world now, I was rather disappointed since I couldn't really go on reading and picturing how she looked like. Furthermore, I really wanted to see how kyle would've treated noah in eleonora's body. So I was heavily disappointed and found it quite a waste of my time. I was looking forward to the ending though

[collapse]

other than that, it was okay. The only thing that kept me reading on was mu, but I eventually dropped it after coming this far. I would like to say that it has a good plot, just quite misleading in the summary.

Spoiler

since it wasn't really transmigration but rather moving realms.

The premise is right up my street and I plesently enjoyed the beginning of the book.

Other people mention her laziness it didn't bother me. If a handsome man wanted to wait on me hand and foot I would do the same.

However, I'm at chapter 119 and I am really annoyed by the fact she's just letting herself be ... more>>

convicted as guilty. Like this is a world with magic so surely there is a way to prove the body's owner has changed. Also calling BS on hiding her identity being safer since the majority of the world seem to want Elenora dead anyway. Even if not surely the ML can find a loophole not involving becoming a convicted criminal with a LIFE SENTENCE. The whole reason she is lazy is to lead a carefree life where she doesn't die or get in trouble due to Elenora's past. This admitting to false charges not even tge 15 she was worried about goes against the whole original premise. Additionaly, your apparent taking responsibility of a baby dragon is to let yourself be degraded with a chain around your neck for the rest of your life being subservient to everyone around you and agreeing with totally ludicrous plans. Aweful role model. I know its probably only temporary because its a story and she the FL. But when important plot points are going to be solved just because she's the FL and even caused by the ML who will probably solve it the story falls flat. Because let's be honest realistically even with story logic Adrian's and MLs attention would eventually wonder. Leaving FL trapped in a lifesentence for something she didn't do with nobody to blame but herself and dragging an adorable baby dragon into a life of servitude with her. Also, if your apparent ML is convincing you to plead guilty to heavy crimes you haven't committed thats a big red flag! Not a ML I want.

[collapse]

The spoiler annoyed me so I kept skipping and skim reading some chapters ahead. It didn't leave me feeling redeemed but annoyed like I had wasted my time.

One redeming factor is the baby dragon only good quality at this point. <<less

I don't know why this is getting high reviews considering how boring this story is. Where do I even start? The MC is incredibly passive and comes across as very weak, often breaking down and crying out of nowhere. Meanwhile, the ML just feels flat and kind of inconsistent. The story feels like it has no downtime, yet the action isn't very good. As far as romance goes, I won't say the two of them have no chemistry at all, but it's not great and it takes over a hundred... more>> chapters for the MC to show any interest at all. What's more, it's just that lame 'jealous of another pretty girl's crap.

It's not a terrible story, but it's super mediocre. I don't think I want to bother finishing it. Honestly I don't see why the story is still going after the imprint completes. There should be no actual threat to Noah at this point either physically or legally, but because her Not Boyfriend is making her jump through hoops the story is still going. <<less

i re-read this novel from chapter 1 after a long time. I just miss their interaction so much. So many people don't like how lazy our FL, well actually nothing so good about her. I admit it. But but but we have a ML who will fill that gap of her laziness and that laziness somehow has its own attraction for me. I can relate with FL because she lives alone she thought as long as she eats, it would be fine. Since she is alone and doesn't really meet... more>> anybody, she keeps the minimum self-care. It's understandable for someone who lives alone. The way she lives is just the same as other college students around me, and I am feeling the urge to take care of them (maybe kyle feels this way too, lol). Then we have Adrian, I think he is that kind of playful man, and I like Noah and Adrian's interaction (when Adrian wooing her). Of course, at some point when Adrian have hidden intention makes him suspicious. About the hook, it's not really a great awesome hook, but it makes me back again. This novel is such a comfortable read. <<less

I really like this novel so much. Unfortunately I only read until ch55. I love the characters so much. If ever this novel would have a manhwa adaptation I think it would be really fluffy.

Was looking for romance, found romance and adventure, action, mystery, flirty banter and tooth-rotting fluff all packed in one chill novel with pretty short, dynamic chapters. The pace is great, the translation flows naturally and so do the exchanges between the characters. ML and FL are just so comfortable with each other that it leads to funnily squeal-worthy scenes, and little Mu is really adorable, given all the foreshadowing that was implied.

I recommend it!

I initially started reading this series just for the supposed cuteness and sweet interactions. However, this novel is so much more than just a sugar fest. Even though I am rating this as just 4/5, it is Mango approved.

First off, I have to say that the "moe" aspects of this novel are just ordinary. The black dragon child is cute, and so are the interactions between the child and female lead. However, these are few and far in-between. Thus, they are not saturated and the few moments are worth more.... more>> This could either be a positive or a negative, and if you are purely looking for a smooth and sweet read, this is a little different.

The plot of this novel is pretty much like an action flick at times. The female lead is wrongly framed as the thief of the black dragon egg. And she faces constant health issues if she doesn't find the original culprit. And she faces assassins for another possible party who want to kill her for her past misdeeds. And she has to deal with the male lead and another hot guy, with whom she had a flame in the past.

As you can tell, the plot and the pacing is quite compact. The moments of lethargy actually seem good, and give much needed breathing space in between the action and mystery oriented arcs. However, the lethargic female lead leaves a lot to be asked for. The problem? Not her lethargy, but rather her naivety when she has some set target but not the fuel to work for that target. You are often left disappointed by her mistakes, and as a flawed character... She is good. Is she likable? Not for me. But we can live with it.

Because we have the cute kid who just wants to get to mama, but is also sensible enough to sacrifice for his mama. The initial comedic interactions with the kid are priceless, and set a good entrance to the story. And the addition of the diligent and rather cute male lead brings everything together.

Overall, a rather perfect offering for this genre which is fresh. I have removed the one star because of the female lead, but that is a rather subjective rating from me.

This is Mango approved. <<less

This is a refreshing novel for me. The pace of the story is nice and the characters are developing, the story with the culprit is starting to move into action. Thank you for the translation team for their hard work. A good read, definitely recommended.

I love the baby dragon. He's the absolute cutest lil thing.

The relationship between the FL and ML is funny as hell. It's not romantic at all yet but it's entertaining.

I can't say I personally relate to Noah but I find her funny. I'm more like the ML [aka super clean, cooks, a bit on the rigid side] but I like that she's kinda sloppy because it irks ML and it's hilarious. But actually though.... I'd probably not like her in real life. Lazy to a certain extent is okay but... more>> wasting away is a bit much.

The chapters are rather short and I don't join patreon accounts usually so I like to wait for 4-5 chapters and read them at once. The translation quality is fairly nice and it's appreciated because access to raws to mtl is blocked where I live for most Korean novels. <<less

A typical fantasy romance KR novel but the personality of Park Noah (MC) makes it different from the others.

MC has an attitude similar to mob character. She is not OP in magic nor a genius however she is a rational person combined with laziness. She also can't take care of herself very well because of her inability to cook food. So to me, "Isn't this a very similar situation to anybody?"

With this kind of character, we might really see what could happen when a modern person transmigrated to a... more>> fantasy world.

Also, I think the 'mature' genre refers to child rearing. Who knows? <<less

We are at the beginning but the story is really positive : we have a lot of fluffy moments with a cute baby, a witch FL and a detective ML. We are in a fantasy world where there is magic, dragons and some mysteries we'll discover later ! And for the moment, there isn't some useless psycho turning around. 'Can't wait to read more !

About the translation, it's well done with a respected shedule. Have a look to his/her other project (different and darker but so fuc*ing good) !

The pacing is great. We get different POVs from the main characters too. I love the fact that it's a slow burning romance. It makes it all the more real.

The characters are also refreshing and most people can actual relate to them. I love it! Looking forward for more.

I came for the cute dragon and wasn't disappointed. The plot itself was actually quite interesting but in the end, the villain was still that predictable. The romance itself wasn't that many so don't expect much in that area but overall, this story was an enjoyable read and the manhua version also had a good art.
