Though I didn't like the fact that he acquired every single skill effortlessly with just a void space (that was the author's choice, of course), I found the detailed writing of the movies and scripts fascinating. The emotions, point of view, and other elements were so intricately described that I could vividly imagine the scenes in my head. It was truly captivating to read. I highly recommend it 😆😆

Translation is nauseating to read.

Back in the Cafe. The director was reading the new script notccarriag about constant buzzing. Once he was done, he stopped tapping the table and picked up the phone

"hello"

The above is what any sensible people would write.

But this story

> In a Cafe, a man was sitting. It was director sun. His fingers were tapping the table making a *tap* *tap* *tap* notice.

> He was reading the the script that has been written again. *bzzzz* bzzzzz* He was ignoring his phone. Because he was fully deeply going through the newly written script page by page.

> He could no longer ignore the ringing so he picked up the phone. He attended the call and said "hello"

Like, who the.. who writes like that? Ai could tighten & improve phrases like this by a 1000% this what ai is for. Please use it. The concept & content & scenes are great. And the fact you are talking the time to translate it is beyond beautiful. But... it would be perfect if you took the small effort to make it read/flow better. & remove the junk words & paragraphs

Woojin is so freakin funny! I love MC's personality and his public persona. Just thinking about it, it honestly makes me wanna laugh. I thoroughly enjoyed the plot, but at some point, the plot is a bit on repeat, tho subtle.

Spoiler

Woojin would pick up scripts, learn a skill or two, participate in drama/variety shows, then surprise the masses while trying hard to act calm and collected. Rinse and repeat.

The one that makes me cringe so much is the female character Hong Hye-yeon. This is just a personal opinion, but like idk its like the author seems trying so hard to make her the female lead for the MC but they got no chemistry. AT ALL. I can't really see it. All I see is a fanboy and an actress having delusion on her co-worker.

[collapse]

The English grammar is good and very understandable that it makes me s**ked into it, but the transition. Man, half the time I was like "Wait, I thought Woojin was still on the shooting field????"

Overall, the story is fun, the main character and his piling misunderstanding are great comedic, I love the side characters (especially the PDs and directors) it's very interesting (Except for Hong Hye-yeon). I don't know how will this progress
Spoiler

I'm at the part where MC's sister is at the fanmeet as representative/leader of all Woojin's fans.

but for now ill put this reading on hold (reread on 92 cos reading it raw till 99 makes my brain fry) and wait for more updates. <<less

This novel is very interesting in giving a fresh perspective on showbiz concept or genre. Especially since there’s so many kinds of Korean novels abt showbiz/entertainment. Nth complicated and focuses on the acting part! And I’m always waiting on that next chapter cuz it’s that good!

The story is fun until now. The way it described is so vivid that I can see it like it's a movie. A good story even if there some loop hole but I'm waiting for there write to cover or finish it. It worth your time to read it. Hope it won't put a bad to destroy the good beginning.

Okay, this started fine. It was interesting and funny. But it went downhill when the author introduced the romance, bch pls, if he wanted to play a romance he should have done it with a character that had had more romantic interactions with MC and not just choose the person that has the less and was described as a cold and business mind person.

And He even did all that when the best arc was going on, MC was making the joker movie. I wear, I was invested. It was of... more>> the best parts of the story and then BOOM romance out of nowhere with another movie, which should have been staged by a different actrice but for some plot related reason (romance) the FL got the role. Honestly, it was good and fun, I binged read up to that point but it simple couldn't recover from there.

So, you can still read it just ignore the sudden changes the author's made at almost the end of the story and keep reading. Maybe you'll like it more than me. <<less

I feel so bittersweet writing this review since I’ve just finished the story. Honestly, I didn’t want it to end. The author could have continued on and just wrote daily life for the MC and I seriously would have read and loved it.

This story is crazy fun and just overall addictive. Kang Woojin is all of us. He’s such an amazing and relatable character that you can’t help but fall in love with him and feel everything, I laughed and cried so hard for this story it was insane how... more>> invested I became. It’s just an all around feel good story. Sure, a lot of it is predictable because he’s so OP but that’s what made me love it even more, even knowing what was going to happen, because WE KNEW, we couldn’t help but hold our breath and be nervous and laugh and cry and just be so wholly and completely immersed in this story.

if you’re looking for something hardcore or complex, this story isn’t for you. This is the story for you heart and something that will make you just feel good after a long day. At least, that’s what it was for me.

also, dreamscibe the translator did such an amazing just that the story was easy to follow and love. I highly recommend this story and translator! <<less

Girl, we started for health, ended for the dead.

First of all, it's a comedy that doesn't understand that it's a damn good comedy. I'm pretty sure author though we were reading it for his rep-offs of famous movies, but na-ah. The MC was (until Ch 300+) frikin hilarious, his relationships with people around were the best icing I've seen in showbiz comedic field, like, ever.

It's so obvious that author also has talent for brutal scenes and eye-tearing moments. I was reading it all with a big smile and pounding heart.

And... more>> then...

Spoiler

There is Cara.

It was fine for a while. It was ok in Bangkok (those scenes were one of the best in the novel).

But i don't know what's with this Korean mentality of adding romance from nothing.

The moment I saw here I thought:

Oh. Oh, no. Oh, that's inevitable.

Reading Jocker and Beauty and the Beast arc was torturing.

[collapse]

I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad example of what forced writing in art block can do to the story, but it is here. I advise you to read novel up to 300/350 and drop it. And go read manhwa.

I dunno. <<less

The story quickly become an iteration of the same topics and ideas. MC shows his cool acting, gain the skills from his golden finger, performs, and everyone is awed. There is no conflict, no character development, nothing to make this change from a good idea into an interesting plot. Likewise every time, he somehow gets lucky without any hard work, or concept of drive. It gets past the concept of just misunderstandings and into the realm of fantasy Mary Sue. This novel has a great concept but tr*sh writing, it... more>> get boring and annoying quickly. I would not recommend my time to read this. <<less

For the general tropes of a misunderstandings novel, I do like the story quite a lot. While at this point in the story, the MC remains stationary in terms of his character I don’t necessarily mind. I personally thinking he’s charming and the vivid descriptions in the novel paint interesting stories for each of the scenes he acts out. I would have loved to watch a lot of these dramas or films if they were real. The author has a lot of interesting concepts that could have been their own... more>> story.

If you want a character who grows and struggles then maybe this isn’t the novel for you, as a lot of the hurdles are easily cleared for the MC. He’s very OP once he taps into the potential of his powers and that helps grow a lot of his business connections.

Just when I think I’m going to put down the novel for the night, another interesting hook draws me back in. I can’t seem to put this book down. <<less

101 Chapter to go. First time I found this novel is from the manhwa. Read through the early chapter to the newest in around six days. I give it 3 star because for me it turned into kinda one patern but bigger in scale each time. The patern; MC got a gig, impressed everyone with his acting, then someone even famous got intrested in him and decided to work with him, repeat until highest. Thanks to the system he can do all his act flawlessly, so all he need to... more>> do is follow it. Maybe it's just me, but the most fun I read this novel is when he used his skills outside of acting or when is not about his acting job.

Spoiler

Like when he's on a Japanese talk show and showed his sign Japanese language. Cooking show in LA and the local chef that tried his cooking is mind blowed. MC saving Hwalin and Cara. My personal fav is when he come back home. That simple chapter where he just let his true self out.

[collapse]

I also like when others got the wrong idea about MC. I always let out a small laugh when someone make a deduction about MC <<less

i don't need to think too much on this novel so the chapters just flow smoothly. Its a normal thing to click next. It's refreshing to read something superficial without needing to read between the lines too much. I just want to know what's gonna happen next without it being a rollercoaster of emotion esp for someone like me that needs time to digest plots/emotions/changes. I'm glad I finally succumb to reading the novel because I can't stop thinking about it every manhwa update.

this is my first time reading this... more>> kind of genre in a korean novel so I enjoyed it so much. I don't have any problem with the MC lol I just go with his flow. Actually I can read a thousand chapters of his mundane-not-so-mundane celebrity life but alas! We are nearing its end. Kudos to the translator! And the kidnappers! Thank you for your service!

HIS CHARACTERS/ROLES ARE SO WELL-WRITTEN. Especially Kiyoshi. I want to watch the movie and see how well he portrayed the character. Ugh. For sure kiyoshi will forever be engraved in me. I also learned about the concept of karmic retribution which I actually hate looking back at how pissed off I am with Death Note ending. So I love the new ending of kiyoshi's concept being as it is until the end. I really want to watch that movie my imagination is not enough. I hope they do justice on the manhwa.

just a heads up, author is not perfect. So you might find yourself disagreeing with her descriptions and settings and some social stuff. I don't mind those things as it's an opportunity to get inside a korean writer's perspective and culture. So just a little heads up if you think you will be sensitive on those aspects.

overall. I love this novel so much. 300/480 chapters. I dont want it to end. But im looking for similar genre novels here and there. I realized I love this niche so much lololol <<less

Don't know why people expect the normal thing in an almost fantasy story but dang this is so good!

I've read this first from the manhwa before the novel so maybe that's why I wasn't bored in the first chapters.

So far, theres 3 girls who is a potential partner for our MC. (I actually vote for the 2nd girl, the kpop idol who is his fan)

And the way the misunderstanding keeps piling up makes it funny. The fact that they cant really find anything on him is because theres really... more>> nothing, all his abilities are from somewhere they dont know without a trail. As for those who they can interview, it's not guaranteed that those they will interview will speak truth.

Just me wishing theres more after conquering hollywood. <<less

It's an "as written on the tin" novel. Lighthearted and no jaw dropping plot twists so far but the pacing, style, and characters are all done really well. MC is definitely the kind of character that grows on you over time.

Basically, if you read the synopsis and the title and you're interested, give it a shot. If you've read the first 20ish chapters and still like it, you'll love the rest of the story.

I really enjoyed reading this! And I loved the way they depicted the MC experiencing the different scripts. Felt like I got a lot of stories in one.

Tho later on in the story they kinda started to skip over them in favour of showing people reacting to MC being cool. So they removed several things, that initially were the things that made me love this story.

It was still very entertaining until the end. I honestly still can't fathom how this story made me - who can't stand missunderstandings - adore... more>> all the insane missunderstandings that got conjured up surrounding the mc! <<less

I read this a while ago, but to be honest

It starts off great, I'm a really big sucker for any sort of actor novel, and misunderstandings like his are fun (similar to player hides his past webtoon type of misunderstandings) which I love a lot

I loved the concept of method acting using the system, interesting to see how he potrayed everything during the acting scenes.

... more>> It starts to go downhill though, once the romance is introduced because oh my freaking sh*t they don't have good chemistry and female love interest sucks

It would have been fine without romance as well.

Other than that, the way that the story narrated was a bit bland but still interesting. <<less

A fun, easy read! The focus of the story is about pure acting (and MC gathering skills along the way). There's romance, but it's mostly in the later arcs after MC has a solid foothold in the industry.

Woojin, the MC, is the center of the universe, and everything works out for him. If you like smooth sailing stories with little to no frustrating villains, then this one's for you.

What sets this apart from other showbiz stories is MC's POV--there is a striking dissonance between what is seen and experienced in... more>> his real life. He started a 'tough guy' concept, and it ended up with him becoming the king of misunderstandings. If you know the Greek myth of Cassandra, who was gifted with the power of prophecy but cursed to be never believed, then this man is the male version of her.

As for his cheat power, I like that it's somewhat explained

and it's not taken away until the end of the novel. It's so sick, though I did worry about his mental health. I mean, if you experience death several times inside the dark space, realistically speaking, you'd have PTSD

The only critique I can think of is the lost potential of a lot of side characters. I don't know if author simply forgot them but

I really enjoyed this novel! It’s not got a lot of conflict or anything, but to me, I really like indulgent stories, and the misunderstandings trope that make a character succeed more instead of just embarrassing them. He’s an ordinary guy forced to play an extraordinary one, if that appeals to you then read this novel!

I've been accompanied by woojin everyday these past weeks, now that its end I kinda feel empty lol.

The translate is good, the story is good but the ending is completely dissapointing to me.

Like a few review before me, the beginning of the novel is good. The flow and phase of the earlier chapter is telling us how he delve into acting. But when he entering hollywood which happened nearing the end of the story, its start to downgrade.

I mean the author can delve deeper into how he develop his character... more>> he is playing or

his emotional development of relationship with his girlfriend

rather than inserting public comment kind of line which is too excessive. It even took 50% of some chapter, which for me its useless, you can just describe it rather than inserting the comment section.

And I think the author might have watch joker before they write the later part of the novel because its way too focus on it and drag on. So the other project that he took at the same time with joker didnt get much of lime light and the end felt abrupt.

Conclusion:

- The translation is good

- The novel is good but the ending is dissapointing

- Too much comment section

- Lack of human development, at least write how he opened up about his true self to his gf, so she wont stay misunderstand and see his concept as his real self.

- Lack description of how he grown as an actor i.e. How he analyze the script and come up with adlibs after 2 months.

This one got manhwa adaptation, I read this novel because I got hooked by the manhwa <<less
