It was a passing wish to the weary and tired Eugene and she’d not think it’d ever come to pass… but it did.

She opened her eyes and found she was sent to a novel-like world she wrote in passing and became Jin Anika, the scorned queen notorious for her ruthlessness and undeserving of her status.

Queen Jin only sought and desired to see the destruction of this world — the villainess who met her untimely and miserable end at the hands of her husband, Kasser, the reigning king of the Fourth Kingdom.

While struggling to survive in the unknown world, King Kasser visited Eugene and demanded that a contract be fulfilled and come to fruition.

“Three years ago, we made a deal.”

It turns out the Queen was under a contractual marriage with King Kasser. The ultimate price? To bear him a child.

With there being more to read now, I can say that the story itself has a very interesting fantasy element. I want to find out more about how their world works with the monsters and magic and whatnot. The characters are beginning to develop and we're seeing how they interact with each other. FL is intelligent but there's also a sort of air headed-ness about her. ML is slowly falling for her and together, they're testing the waters of their rocky relationship. I'm waiting to see how they each fall... more>> further in love with each other.

Overall, the story is slowly beginning to be fleshed out further, we're getting some ;) scenes with the two characters and boy oh boy, they're cute. Can't wait for more! <<less

Similar thought as other readers who gave this 1-2 stars.

the MC is just bland and boring. The fact she wrote the novel doesn’t tie well, given how clueless she is. Should’ve made it as she happens to transmigrate in a novel she was reading at a glance is more like it..

so I dropped this

Due to the second translator giving this a different title, I started it twice and—I just noticed—dropped it again at almost the same chapter (206 and 198).

It's fine, really. There's nothing too wrong with it or bad about it. But there's not much good about it, either, except for the fact that the FL and ML spend plenty of time together and the ML is an okay bloke. The setting and hints of world-building had some interest for me, too.

But unfortunately, the pace is plodding and slightly repetitive. The characters... more>> don't really come alive in any way for me. Nor do their interactions give me enough of the secondhand butterflies I look for in a romance. I find the FL vaguely annoying and find most of the characters' thinking feels weird/contrived. So I ended up bored enough to quit at almost exactly the same moment twice.

I can say that some reviews' complaints about plot holes seem exaggerated to me. There are some smaller contradictions, but they could be due to slightly awkward translations.

There is a clear explanation early on about why the FL doesn't know things even though it's "her book." Her book was set a few years later, in a different part of the world, and was more focused on different characters. What makes it an issue is the annoying and repetitive way the FL thinks! She realizes this herself, but then keeps acting surprised and confused about really trivial things.

My favorite example of this so far is about "the beasts." She knows that they are able to shape-shift. She wrote about it in her book. But she gets quite distressed when she sees the ML's beast shape-shift from a horse into a panther and realizes it's the one she wrote about. Because she wrote that the beast was a panther and (gasp dun dun dun) it's different. Darlin', that is a panther. That's how come you just recognized it. It shape-shifts into a panther most of the time he's "using" it. Which is the only time it showed up in the book. That's NOT DIFFERENT from the book! It's THE SAME. I do not see the issue here. 💀

I'd say give it a try and see how it takes you, because I don't think it's bad, I think it just doesn't appeal to me personally.

BTW, repeat after me. Having "a setting" is not the same as having "world-building." A setting is a basic, world-building is advanced. You probably mean "the setting" not "the world-building." <<less

One of the novels I enjoyed reading till the end!

I still can't believe I finally finished reading this novel😭. I've started reading this like around 2018-2019 and even then it already hooked me up to the point of wanting to read ahead the translation (It's just that I failed to find the raws at that time)

Anyway, this novel was your typical "I've reincarnated as the villain/villainess" trope but despite that I found it interesting right from the start.... more>> It was cliche? Maybe. But idk I didn't find anything boring as the story progress till the 100ish chapter.

Also some may think that the smut happened way too early, or that their relationship was purely because of 'that' and that MC was s*upid for letting it happen. Y'all need to remember it has to be done

the s*x part was part of the deal of og villainess and ml. MC was trying not to raise suspicion further (since ML was suspicious of her amnesia and thought that she was doing it to avoid their deal.) so she had to comply with it. It's not that she's chill about it but she needs to do it cuz she might (on her pov) gets killed if she doesn't

Furthermore, I found it really beautiful to read how their relationship slowly get on the right path after it started on the wrong foot. And also how their characters developed and how they learn to understand and yield to each other's personality. It was really sweet reading all of it.

Also the focus on Larks, Praz, Ramita and the Kings was something I was not expecting. I thought this novel would be 80% romance +smut and 20% others just like Lucia. To be honest I skipped lot of details about them cuz how author wrote em was way too detailed for my liking. I still understand em well tho despite that so I guess it's all fine lol.

Best part of the novel?

When they let Mara live and end up in a win-win situation. Mara lives, Holy City gets a protector from other larks. My favorite character from this novel is Mara. He's just so cute and pureeeee. Seriously, I'm so happy he got his happy ending🥹

My only disappoinment and also the reason I only rated 4 stars was about Mc's power.

Eugene was described as someone who is really powerful. She possessed the greatest Ramita in history and can even tame Kings' Hwansus and can kill larks. But all she did in the final battle was the Ramita sea that she wasn't even able to control properly😭 I thought she would be the one to handle Sangje but she wasn't even there. I thought she would have bigger role on that final battle considering her power was literally end for larks but perhaps I was expecting too much

And also I was a bit disappointed on how the battle with Sangje had gone

It was too anti-climatic😭 Dude was reigning the humans for so long but got killed so easily not really easily but still it wasn't satisfyingly long I understand that Kings' was the literally like the kryptonite to Sangje but getting all the advantages (they also manage to have the seed that reveals where Sangje's true core was) aside from their numbers was too overkill imo. And Sangje not having a backup plan was so not "Story's final boss" like

All in all, it was a really good read from start to finish. I recommend reading it if you like power couple, fluff, smut, action and cute pets larks! <<less

First of all, wish I waited till it's end because now I'm super curious ㅠㅠ

Actually I read this right after another korean smut novel with similar background (desert king with capital city girl/princess a.k.a predatory marriage) so at first I dont expect to like this, but the enemy to lover idea makes me persists. So here I am.

The smut scene is actually repetitive. Boring you might said, compared to predatory marriage (since the latter's ML is literally going into heat). But the plot, that's where this novel shine. Wont spoil... more>> much but the plot truly intriguing and involved magic, spells, monster, and a lot of people to solve the mystery.

The translation is also enjoyable, which I'm so thankful for. <<less

i started to read it because it was from the same author as Lucia, but I gotta say that this story is way better than Lucia eventhou I still love lucia very much too. In this book you can see how the author fixed most of the errors Lucia had and the male protagonist is much better than in Lucia, the love the FL and ML have feels more real, genuine and healthy and the smut is not happening in almost every chapter of the story like it did in... more>> Lucia to the point for it to become annoying. My heart fluttered of how cute the couple is many times.

The pace of the story is well planned and I love how intricate the mistery is too. I love the world building and how the author is not letting any question unexplained. For example, in most manhwas when the FL transmigrates to another world is most of the times never explined why or how, but here the story does explain it to you and also the reason makes sense for the story.

All in alll, it has become one of my favorite korean novels if not my favorite already, I haven't enjoyed a book so much in quite a while. Now all I can do is to wait for the next chapet T_T <<less

Novel is really good! Story has a good amount of politics, adventure, romance and smut. It is refreshing that the story doesn’t revolve entirely in the smut and romance (tho the smut is good too!). Also, thank you to the translating team that updates this regularly!

I read up to around chapter 30, so far its decent ig. Its a nice thing to read to pass the time, smut was a solid 8/10 I do enjoy getting the male leads pov. There are a few plot holes that seem weird to me though- the female lead is supposed to be the author of the book but she seems to have almost no clue whats going on. Would've made more sense if she was just randomly iseakied into the world. So far none of the characters were... more>> really that special to me, I was expecting some nice actual slow burn like the translator said would happen but it seems as though they "fell in love" just after one soft moment and getting h**ny after. <<less

Ahhh it's so great, the concept is really great ! The way story is processing ik we have many more things to look forward especially her soul living in that body. Kasser his another cool MC out there he & ishakan both are really great !!!😻 I personally like that how FL was a writer but than she transferred in to this all. The author is giving us some clue too he or she is doing her job great !!! (After it's Lucia one, I want this to be adopted... more>> in webtoon too) !!!! <<less

I initially picked up this novel because of the art then when I discovered it was from the same author as Lucia, I became even more hyped to read it. I love how S*ut scenes don't overpower the plot and character development because even though I've reached ch95, I'm sure that we've only just gotten to see more from the tip of the ice berg.

I look forward to more chapters and I'm happy to see that many readers also enjoy this novel.

The story is written by the sake author of 'Lucia' so I pretty much had a high expectation. Fortunately, this one totally excedeed my expectations. I love the world building, the mysteries surrounding the setting and the main characters so much. FL is really determined to change her fate and is actually doing something to live a good life. ML is also fine, he respects the wishes of FL and does not force her or whatsoever.

I like this. It doesn't feel like any other manhwa or Korean novel. Because of the environment, the desert is a new thing in a Korean novel for me. They usually go with the victorian era, revenge, and kind of.

Oh my goodness let me start this off with how grateful I am for such amazing translator (s?) for translating such a well written work as this. While I'm not picky about mtl translating it can mess with having a smooth reading because I'm trying to rearrange every sentence to make it make sense lol.

On to the actual book review, the MC is adorable and genuinely good hearted. Seeing her slowly accept her role as the queen and the ML as her husband is quite enjoyable. It's amusing to see... more>> how the ML falls in love with the MC and I hope the relationship stays healthy. The r18 scenes are some of the best I've seen in literary works. This author seems to be the few who write r18 reincarnation/transmigration works as far as I've seen. 10/10. With how much I've been enjoying this I haven't really relised the slow progress because the MC is amusing in anything she does and I'm always rereading my fav chapters. I wish to buy a physical copy of this so I hope we can get there! <<less

At first it didn't give off the amazing kind of vibe to make it look interesting but nevertheless I could say that it got what you just want to read! Even though I don't get many butterflies running around in my stomach but this is a good novel and I'm hoping for it to be completed soon with an absolute best ending (idk if my wish will be fulfilled) XD. But this one is a great one, don't be hesitant to go for it.

It's the same author as Lucia and I'm oh so excited! Every chapter makes me so anxious in a good way as I always anticipate things would happen, and the steamy part is so.... breathtaking

I LOVE IT SO MUCH, I keep searching for the next button
