This has the fluff, the sweetness, the bit of angst and a nice story to match it all.

What I like the most is that they aren't only a cute dummy shou and a yandere evil gong. Each have a long history and actually reasonable development of their personalities that the story explains slowly and makes you feel that everything is so nicely connected.

The first 4 chapters gives you a taste of the suffering the ML went through (tl-san explains it before every chapter so that's a nice warning) and it's... more>> really saddening to read (not unbearable at all but for new people to angst it might be a bit painful to read). But everything gets more sweet and cute afterwards.

Of course there are secrets and mysteries throughout the novel but what you can be assured of is that the relationship between MC and ML is really one of the sweetest and they really care so much for each other that you can only cry of sweetness lol.

You will cry of sadness AND happiness. Also 99% of you will love how cute the MC is and you can only helplessly hope to put him on your palms to protect him. BUT! He's not your typical "weak and poor" MC, he's actually there to comfront everything for ML the same way ML wants to protect MC.

The honesty between both characters is also refreshing. Even if there're some unclear things the trust for each other grows with each chapter and is just really satisfying to read.

Overall this is nicely done. Some flaws are there to be the perfect novel plot wise. But relationship and logical point of view wise, this is one of the best in my opinion.

If you dread to read this because you're not sure to read heavy book plots I would say you should read a nice brainless fluffy novel and then comeback to read this so you're more willing after dumb-cute love plots lol.

This novel, compared to other long ones with heavy plots or painful relationships between MC nad ML, is actually not so difficult to read. The amount of chapters is nice and you won't feel the need of more prolonged ending.

You won't regret reading it! <<less

I love the author approach.

Tragedy does play a big part but it necessary has a part of the MC and ML journey in healing. There are many beautiful and moral messages in this story. I'm really happy that mental health is addressed and is taken very seriously. Other characters also have their part to shine.

It doesn't follow the cliche storyline hence I can enjoy the unexpected plot twist.

Big thanks to the translator, such an underrated gem. I highly recommend this with an open mind.

Well many comments say that some people's reviews are too excessive, but for me this is not entirely true.

Like I know the story itself only has a fairly general theme, but the way the author creates an anti-mainsteam plot which comes from a general-themed story is what makes this story deserves a near perfect rating.

I mean come on, surely everyone is already tired with Blood Dog plot which tells the story where ML always has a bitter experience whether it's where his entire family is killed or where ML is always tortured and become tr*sh.

Anyways if we talk about the flaws in the story. Personally, I think there are some parts that are sometimes not connected well (???) What I mean not connected here it's not about the story one.

It's more like the story is connected but sometimes the way the story connected was feels awkward.

Plus, The ending of the story is a bit unsatisfactory for me. <<less

I Just registered Just to leave this comment. Author of this novel, you have made me cry, laugh, swoon, smile and other expression I can't remember. Thank you. Translator thank you for picking this gem to translate, I've read alot of novel but this really touched my soul. The MC and the ML really brought out the meaning of NEVER GIVE UP, breakthrough is around the corner, and they never did. So I won't. Before you judge this book please read to the end faithfully then drop an honest review

A really interesting novel with ups and downs. I specially liked the Ml, although he is possessive, he never hurt the MC and MC too is the best lover for Ml. At first I thought MC was very naive and didn't know a thing but I was wrong. He knows and tries hard to fix situations, never giving up.

The MC's prverence is Ml's strength.

I'll just say one needs to read quite a few chapters before forming any opinion about this novel cuz I saw many bad reviews, which this novel... more>> didn't deserve. The more further you read the clearer things become and atlast everything comes into sense. <<less

This is amazing. I was blown away by how well the author wrote the story and characters.

This is a novel that turns the tropes on it's head. The ML is a yandere but he and MC both realise that being a yandere isn't healthy and they both seek to work out their issues. The ML has gone through a lot of trauma and thus his reactions are very understandable. ML has controlling and violent tendencies but he does open up to MC about it and they try to solve it.

The... more>> side characters are written well and are used very well in the plot. The plot is coherent and consistent with hints properly placed. I love that the author and the characters question that if you love someone why would you hurt them. I especially like that the actual protagonist shou of the novel Bai Zihao breaks free from his chains and works hard to stand up on his feet. ML actually gives BZH the opportunity to help himself. I love it. ML isn't an unfeeling villain. He actually has clear morals and though he's crazy you can see that it's the fault of the trauma.

MC on the other hand is an adorable cinnamon roll and is the ray of sunshine for everyone. He has his own issues though which get exposed later and MC tries real hard to change himself positively. Our cute MC fights against the heavens itself for ML.

Ok ok I should stop here or I'll continue gushing about this.

The translation is amazing. I do have some peeves with some things the author did in the end but it's not that major.

This novel definitely deserves 5 stars. If you stuck around to read this review go read the novel. <<less

I really love this novel. One of the best i've read so far. The world building, the characters, everything. Maybe for me, this novel is even on par with MDZS. 10/5.

I shed tears, I laughed, I ranted, because of this novel. Usually, I can read novel fast. But I read this novel in longer time I usually needed, because I read every words slowly. The author doesn't neglect her/his characters. They won't just randomly appear for the sake of face slapping or small drama and then disappear in later chapter... more>> without reasons. Each of them has meanings.

The author even stated that she/he doesn't want to follow the norm of story making, and even said to feel free to drop her/his novel to the readers. She/he doesn't care about the mainstream, she/he wants to write novel based on her/his logic, and I love it.

Really, I can even make a whole blog page review just for this novel. I even don't know from what point do I have start to encourage you to read this novel.

Eventho the ML already confirmed MC's love and do the bed sports, but bcs of his very traumatic past, he didn't miraculously became a good guy. I often found a villain ML character (and maybe mostly), when a bad lunatic guy feel loved, they will be repented easily. But not with the ML. He struggled to forgive himself, to trust the MC, to try to like the world he despised the most. And the MC accepted him fully, accepted his twisted view, his traumas, his past. The novel isn't a simple naive novel. Who should be killed, got killed. Even almost every sects. The MC isn't white lotus who prevent him to avenge and kill. But he just ask the ML to learn to tolerate and set a borderline, to don't kill everyone completely, like the innocents. I really like this point. It's not a naive novel. The MC didn't try to make ML become the world's saviour to erase his villain setting by forgiving those tr*sh.

Also the real protagonist shou that the MC supposedly save. He is so pitiful. Altho The ML saved him, he still make the protag shou wake up by himself. By make him realize that every his twisted believe is wrong. That, that's not what a real happiness he thought it is. The ML gave him choices and options. The ML doesn't blatantly force his choice of life to him. He let him choose, to become stronger by his own hands. To make the protag shou himself, wants to heal.

My view on the novel was that it was brilliantly written. The TAGS are there for a reason, and I would advice anyone who picks up this novel to actually take note of them.

The psychology that goes into the novel was actually well researched and the author as my respect for that.

However, unfortunately the s*exual ab*se has over shadowed the humor in the novel for me. (Novel is still brilliantly written)

My view on the characters - MC was written to be a good natured person (in my opinion) who... more>> just wants to further his research in medicine.

ML had trauma due to his past and the falls in love with MC. Honestly I don't think it's true love, In my opinion ML is suffering from the nightingale effect where he fell in love with his caregiver/hero/rescuer/nurse.

One part of this novel that I just couldn't read (I mean I skipped right through because ML and MC p**sed me off to no end) is where the ML does to a student what has been done to ML in the past. Let me just clarify that he didn't physically do it to the student but mentally. This all just because he was some what offended. And after MC found out the cause he didn't do anything to avenge his student after he stated in prev chapters that he wants to protect his students.

The MC was literally like: he let the student go because he cares. I'm so happy.

Read this novel.

oh my god. I don’t usually read BL, but stumbled on this accidentally and gave it a shot. So happy I did.

It’s written so well. I’m really nitpicky about plot holes, the consistency and 3D-ness of characters and world building, etc. And this one is so, so solid. It’s interesting and loveable and made me laugh and cry.

Its so good! Although it is a bit slow romance, it's really funny and cute. So being patient when reading this with definetly pay off. The MC is a person with low EQ and is an innocent cinnimon roll. ML is really sad, and him being slowly helped and treated by MC is good.

Contrary to other novels where the ML is described to be perfect in every way, this one shows otherwise.

He's so broken that he couldn't be more broken.

But that's not a reasom for him to be deprived of kindness and love.

... more>> And the MC just shows him that.

Which is very..... healing.

Let's take this chance to raise awareness against those suffering and still currently going through s*xual and all sorts of mental ab*se.

No one deserves it, and they can't be blamed for it. Because if given the chance, who would want to go through it?

First off, the translator did a great job! the little notes about sayings and particular names was super helpful.

I actually enjoyed the male lead's character: Yandere, but like he knew what boundaries not to cross with the MC and his adoration was cute. He was hot and intelligent, and was good at scheming and how to plan for the long run.

The MC however... there's a limit to how a s*upid a person can be right??? Like I know it's fluffy and comedic, but the social ineptness of the MC just... more>> made me wanna cringe so hard.

I also found it really annoying how npcs revered the MC as this terrifying doctor, incessantly running, like I KNOW it's supposed to be comedic, but I feel my IQ dropping every time...

The author does eventually clarify later on why the characters have their personality traits, but it doesn't stop the steamrolling second hand embarrassment that comes upon me whenever the MC totally misreads a character and the embarrassing situations he ends up in.

Simply put, if you're looking for some fluffy, silly romance featuring an obsessed f*cked up (but not that super f*cked up) gong, and a dumb as sh*t (socially) but smart (academically) shou? this is for you. <<less

The story is a sure read for me. At first I was intrigued by the Ml's tragic past and how he would execute his revenge and thought it would be a cliché of the hero enacting revenge on whoever did him wrong but I stuck till the end and it was totally out of my previous expectations.

The author does not shy away from the plot and everything happens for a reason and is all connected.

The case of the MC's low EQ and his tad boring personality (for some)

Pros :

ML is a yandere that wants to put his sweetheart inside a black room and keep him away from meat scenes... Other yandere MLs could never- MC and ML spend their days studying together just like good students.

The second ML syndrome that I got is no joke. Also, I'm glad that the author didn't make his ending bad.

... more>> The sypnosis make it sounds that its a light read, well no. There's some TW but the tranlator will put a warning and a summary of said chapters.

Cons :

Unlike most novels, the system here is mainly silent. There's a lot of TW at the beginning.

Kinda got bored at the end of the story (also cus AnLong isn't in it). But finished this and I don't think I will re read this but it's not a bad novel to read <<less

Just gonna drop in and leave a 5 stars here ‘cause this novel is worth your time.

I have great faith in CG and will definitely re-read once the story is entirely translated.

A lot of people have already wrote about the plot, characters and what-nots but what I want to mention is what I like the most in this novel is definitely the character depth. They’re so likable? How to say this, so charming. Give it a try!

I. LOVE. IT! I honestly can't express how much I love reading this. The descriptions seem so clear that I can almost visualize them. I really miss reading this type of novels. I'm not good with words but please believe me this novel is so good. I hope the author makes more books just like this.

This was great. I love the growth of each characters and the depth of their personalities. The plot is genius and very heartwarming. A bit of angst only further deepening the story. I actually stopped reading halfway through because I felt pity for the ml. But I picked it up again and it was worth reading. Glad they had a happy ending

Their relationship is heartwarming.

As the main characters, I generally don’t like it when the MC/ML is pure hearted/overbearing but this isn’t the case. SQS is naive in several aspects but he isn’t a pushover, he’s straight-forward and make sure things end up alright. YWH is obsessive of course but he’s also considerate of SQS even though his mental health is crumbling as you read.

The plot summarized contains a lot of spoilers so I won’t go into it. But the way the story handles s*xual violence, (from an outsiders perspective)... more>> I feel is delicately done.

Other than that, the side couple as a sweet-treat is nice. It’s good to see them being happy after all the things he went through. <<less

IT'S AMAZING.

The flow, the plot, the way it handled trauma, thecharacters—all unique. It grips your heart, shatters you, and it makes you laugh in the same minute.

I loved every story and every side character.

It's one of those novels where you see yourself in the future, reading it all over again.
