Yu Hua loses his job, and the weight of the household falls on the shoulders of his partner, You Zhengping.

His husband is a temporary employee at the subdistrict office, with a monthly salary of only 2500; this troubles Yu Hua exceedingly.

You Zhengping is secretly engaged in the work of protecting the world from Destroyers, with a rather liberal subsidy.

You Zhengping spends all day fretting: how can he tell Yu Hua that he has a few million in private savings without giving anything away?

Right up until the day that You Zhengping receives a notice that a power great enough to destroy the world has appeared in his home.

Worried that something will happen to Yu Hua, an ordinary person, You Zhengping hurries home with his team. Once through the door, he sees a peaceful home, Yu Hua wearing an apron, a lifted frying pan in his hand, and a fish, golden on both sides and its aroma wafting around, frying in the pan.

Seeing You Zhengping, Yu Hua puts the frying pan on the switched-off electric stove and wipes his hands on his apron. “I wanted to save on the electricity bill.”

You Zhengping: …

The entire world’s most awesome Destroyer is his husband.

I really liked this one~ Let's see why with this:

= Positive,

= Negative.

    • Breaking of gong-husband shou-wife stereotypes...
    • ... but there was a "wife" and gong/shou anyway.
    • Cute relationship dynamics...
    • ... but an extreme power-imbalance and not-so-necessary yandere part. ML derailed into a side-character.
    • Excellent world-building...
    • ... but it got confusing at times.
    • Great plot-building...
    • ... but the drag led to an anticlimatic ending.
      Spoiler

The System and World Law's babbling was kind of annoying, to be honest. I expected more backstory from them, but they were just the mechanical good/bad guys.

      [collapse]
    • Entertaining and semi-3D side-characters...
    • ... but they seemed like furniture a lot.
    • I loved the diversity of Destroyers...
    • ... but it got repetitive and felt like catching Pokemon.
    • I loved how they all got second chances...
    • Spoiler

... except Director Ha. I didn't expect him to turn back human, but I really wanted a proper redemption arc and was sorely disappointed.

      [collapse]
    • I liked how YH's power was new/unique (to me, at least)...
    • Spoiler

... but I wanted to delve into the insanity from power a little more.

      [collapse]
Overall, it's a really balanced story in terms of pros and cons, but I really enjoyed it due to the fluff and comedy. Quite worthwhile.

Fantastic Novel.

After a long time I found a novel like this, I haven't even skipped a single chapter, I wish there was more but it ended on a perfect note, I'm glad I found it after the novel was completely translated, it made me feel all kind of emotions. Just read the novel and u will find out how good this is.

The translation is also good.

... more>> You'll definitely like all the characters 😉, they have their own unique style.

Just read. It's a sweet journey with lots of lugh and a bit of sad pasts. <<less

The thing is I have an uncontrollable rejection against seme protagonist.

Idk why but when it's seme protagonist novel, I felt that he should be uke rather than seme or sometimes he's so nauseating that I can't help but dislike the protagonist so much cuz he's not taking care of his partner.

I'll give this novel a chance first by reading at least one third of the story line.

Additional review:

Finished reading.

Rather than seme protagonist, it more like multiple POV. Cuz both protagonist have almost equal amount of POV and there're also side characters POVs mixed in.

It's a good novel. The plot was nicely done, the story flew in a good pace and most importantly, the reasoning of every scene was spot on.

The icing on the cake for me was when the world law did Dr. Strange's calculation kinda move was extremely cute. In a way it's a good matchmaker

I came for sweet, sweet marriage life... not expecting an actual apocalyptic time-warping battle.

Had to scold myself because WHY did I not read the entire synopsis? I honestly pegged this for a very sweet, dog food-filled story. My brain somehow omitted the part about destroyers & invaders. However, I will not lie- IT IS CUTE. I was craving to read about a married couple & I actually enjoyed the relationship & interaction between the main CP. The whole, "I will fall for you at first sight every time, " has... more>> me swooning. That's honestly the main reason why I forced myself to read all 122 chapters. The plot is interesting enough, but mediocrely executed. I don't hate it, but the plot gaps made it hard for me to enjoy wholeheartedly. Aside from the CP, the side characters aren't that memorable either. They're just built to exist around the CP.

TL;DR IT'S MEDIOCRE BUT CUTE OK. A STRONG 3.5 THAT I ROUNDED UP TO A 4 BECAUSE MY HEART IS A SUCKER FOR DEVOTED LOVE INTERESTS <<less

I enjoyed it. Got confusing and mind-blown at one point, unsatisfied on another, but overall still enjoyable. Overall rating: 4.0.

The theme is invaders (Destroyers) vs defenders (Protectors), with the invaders as people from outside the planet trying to "open up" the world by bringing destruction to the world's individuals, and defenders as a world organization whose main goal is to protect ordinary people's lives from the invaders. You may think it's sort of good vs evil but it's not - the invaders are not completely evil and it's detailed that... more>> some chose to harm others only for the sake of their own survival, since their lives are under the control of a much stronger body (System). The goal is destroying the System, freeing the invaders and defenders from their missions. If you want to know how this will be done, then read the story (it's a long explanation so I won't elaborate).

The couple is very OP, which is obvious since one is the strongest Destroyer while the other is someone who has the highest chance of becoming the strongest Protector. It's just that each hide this factor from the other, trying to maintain a peaceful harmonious marriage life. Of course, life throws them the hard ball, but ultimately these secrets and challenges forge them to see and understand each other more, making their bond stronger as each event passes by.

I like the fact that the characters are life-like - there are no brain-damaged personas who do illogical or unrealistic things just to elaborate MC or ML's brilliance and strength. These individuals have their own worries and experiences, which shaped their distinct personalities and interpersonal relationships with others. Yuan Louri's actions, especially his fanaticism, always cracks me up to the point that I twist and turn on my bed just to stop myself from laughing a lot and cause my stomach to hurt so much. Also, I very much appreciate the duplicity of Huan Zixu's character portrayal - he can do anything for the sake of one person, yet he doesn't hesitate to scam anyone for the sake of his own goals - very "romantic" indeed.

As for the confusing and mind-blown part, all I can say that it's because I was unprepared and read this like it's a common light-read comedy romance novel. If ever you chose to read this, and you like to imagine/analyze the plot as you read, please get your mind double-ready when you reach the time-space dimension arc - it's very easy to get bewildered by all those ideas and theories about space and time conundrums, true and false identities, and parallel dimensions. I remember I stopped analyzing the story at some point in that arc so I'm not sure if there are any plotholes, just tried to enjoy MC's plan and the succeeding events that lead to his return to ML.

Oh, I almost forgot - there's also that supposedly big reveal near the end and the whole road to conclusion scenario. I guess it's... uhm... unsatisfying? Well, you have this whole big build up in the story that makes you both wonder how great and explosive will it be if MC really revealed his secret to the world and plan System's destruction together with everyone, or how silently and cunningly will he defeat the System, either together or not with ML, if he ever chose to stay quiet about his secret. I thought it will just be either-or, not a sort of mix up of the two, just to demonstrate that MC's not alone anymore and the power of the masses is stronger than the power of an individual. Really let me down - I was looking forward to that scene, you know.

All in all, this is both your typical and yet not typical romance comedy story. It has both deep ideas that make you puzzled and minor events that put a smile on your face. I commend the translator, E. Danglars - he/she did a great job in translating this story. It's a good read, not that great but enough to read once, definitely worth a rating of around 4. <<less

An overpowered MC that wants to live a peaceful life and his attempts to live that way... I surprised myself because I really loved reading this story. Among the fighting and struggling there is sweet fluff and declarations of love that had me flailing around in my bed as I stayed up past midnight reading. It's got some comedy, action, superpowers, fluff, angst, and does such a good job balancing all these together to weave together into a sweet love story that I will remember for a long time.

The ending... more>> was beautiful, I was crying so much because it made me so emotional. I was worried if it would be a happy end for a bit and my fears were unwarranted, it has a great ending that left me thinking "I really found a good novel." This is something I'd like to have on my bookshelf. I would love to re-read it sometime in the future. <<less

I like the plot and the world building, very well done.

And I just love our ML (You Zhengping), he is ball of sunshine. The line between MC and ML is very thin in this story. Both of them are so OP!

Maybe many people will found the MC (Yu Hua) detestable regarding his treatment to his subordinate but, , ,

Spoiler

From chapter 99:

Yu Hua would absorb the Destroyers’ System abilities, shatter their delusions, and at the same time use his actions to tell them to atone for their crimes and live well. He would use high pressure policies to force the levelers to submit, but they would quickly get accustomed to the differences between the new world and their original worlds.

Yu Hua never expressed it in words, but he showed the Destroyers with practical actions that the past was already past, in the future, they could still live steady, realistic lives.

[collapse]

I found Yu Hua reason is acceptable, as many levelers hold their head high and need to be beaten to reality, lmao

It's a pretty fun read, I adore Zhen Li and Cen Xiao for the comedy element, hahaa

A bit regret maybe because I hope there will be huge scale action for the ending, but in actual it feels lacking.

BUT it still wrapped nicely. <<less

It’s extremely good! The translation is really good too 😭 can’t put down the book once I started, the main couple is soooo sweet and soooo good towards each other. I love how op the MC is. And his husband is also super powerful. The MC is a control freak, the only time he is semi normal is when he is with his husband but there’s a reason! I loooove it.

Amazing story, the pace was good with emotional build up for the plot.

What I found the most surprising was the blurred lines between the gong and the shou. They don't have the typical characteristics of gong and shou for 90% of the story. They do have thoughts of being competely dependent on the other, but when it comes down to it, they would both want to provide for the other. Which is what I found novel in this genre.

A fun, hilarious story about two husbands trying to live a normal and mundane life while having to hide from the other that they possess superpowers - and that these powers place them on opposite ends of a brewing war between Destroyers (transmigrators) and Protectors (indigenous dwellers).

The interaction between the MC and ML was quite sweet and wholesome, they managed to communicate quite well despite all the secrets between them. Have to say that the humor with all the mistaken and secret identities is what made reading this so fun!

It... more>> did feel a little anticlimactic at the end, and I'm not sure what the Extra chapters provided, but still an overall fluffy and interesting read!

Love Love Love

PLOT

Okay, SO this was an absolute fresh read for me. The story line like no other with humour, fluff and literally everything! The Plot was written in an understandable way and the Fights eventhough only around 1-2 chapters still made me anxious. The Final fight was okayish but still satisfying. I don't have much to say but I absolutely Love it!! I mean I am not surprised I love the plot - This is one of my favorite authors!!

... more>> CHARACTERS

The Main Leads are written wonderfull! They appear almost realistic except the MC has pretty OP powers. The Love MC has for ML is understandable. MC may appear controlling but he is more like, Persuasive and that can be attributed to the fact that he had a life worse than death in the System's hands. So a person in darkness would want to hold onto that light which is Xia You and is mentioned by the author several times to understand his mindset. Yu Hua (MC) may act like an absolute s*um to the employees and you can slowly understand his mindset eventhough in the starting it may feel a bit harsh. Yu Hua is possessive of the ML and also becomes very jealous and the funny part - The ML never realizes!

ML is an absolute fluff. Wrecking Yu Hua's carefully made plans like a bulldozer. He didn't find out Yu Hua being a sabateur like shown in the summary but that scene does happen but only in the 100's. He has absolute trust in Yu Hua and its absolutely cute how they get along completely spreading dog food everywhere. He is an absolute fluff but he is strong and doesn't rely on people though, After all, He is the squad captain.

The Side characters are also constructed wonderfully and you get a little bit of backstory from the main ones. Honestly I can only remember Cen Xiao from ML's squad. The rest of the members are only mentioned 4-5 times max. The Side characters add a great deal of humour and plot to the story and makes it wonderful!!

They even put a little extra on how the characters survive later which is a different pov and its honestly so wholesome.
Spoiler

All of them lose their power so when they eat as they used to do as before, they start to become fat because the calories they had eaten when they had their powers would turn into energy but Now when they eat the same amount - They will become fat.

[collapse]

TL;DR - I absolutely love it and it is a very satisfactory read

Also a shoutout to the translator!! - They are literally the BEST!! Double updates everyday with excellent translation!! What more can I want???

THANK YOU TRANSLATOR!!!! <<less

This was really surprisingly good so far. The synopsis did successfully convey that this would be a fluffy story. I thought it was going to be probably a generic fluffy story but instead, it actually has some great character and story development from the get-go. I highly recommend reading it and the translation is great as well. I’ll have a hard time trying to stop and stock-pile chapters to read.

Look, I just read one chapter, and I already couldnt stop, going to chapter 3, I'm holding my stomach coz it hurts from laughing too much.

The comedy tone and element, is not forced, doesnt feel like it's too ridiculous or over, it feels slowly flowed and nicely taste. Updated. Completed

All my previous opinion of this novel still stand. And

I couldnt say if this is a waste of time it definitely NOT. Marvelous work.

And the MC is the gong.

It starts off very much as a slice of life. Which is not my preferred genre so I struggled a bit at the beginning. Until around ch 55. The plot really picks up and the story becomes much more of a sci-fi (loosely action) fantasy which is much more my speed. The couples relationship is very solid so there is not much to build on there. Very lovey dovey couple. I did want to see a bit more of my side ships sailing but that's just my personal preference when... more>> there is a solid main couple like this. Overall good read. 3.9/5 stars

Spoiler

The 'wife' is the top.

I wanted to see Cen Xiao& Zhen Li and Luo Huai&Yuan Luori ship. These are not explicitly stated ships. Just the vibe I got from reading. The story only focuses on the main CPs relationship

This novel is Sakamoto Days But Danmei.

Tonally, it feels just like a shounen story with a higher than usual percentage of tooth-rotting fluff between the two leads. There's a lot of comedy, shounen villains-of-the-week dealt with in sudden powerups that still feel very tonally authentic in a Jojo-way, and great characters. It's high-quality both as a danmei story and a shounen story.

Not only do the leads have a good relationship, but the side characters are also very entertaining too, which is very good for keeping up a good variety of... more>> jokes and preventing them from becoming dry. I especially like Zhen Li, the brainless beauty who just wants to collect pretty outfits and also has a good heart inside of him.

The running (serious and by the protagonist side) usage of "ideological education" in the story does rub me the wrong way, though, since in real life it's the Chinese state government's attempts to brainwash people it doesn't like, not the basis of moral knowledge the author thinks it is. <<less

A great novel with a cute romance, interesting plot and a wonderful and funny cast for supporting characters. No smut other than implication.

Coming to the novel, I was hoping for some light hearted silliness- but got so much more than that. Really a brilliant novel, you get s**ked in by the silly, funny fluff and then sucker punched by bits of angst and bucket loads wholesome feels.

Mostly unrelated to the plot, one element I love about the novel is that the main couple are together from the very start of the book. Rather than sitting through yet another getting together story, even if they can be excellent, reading a wonderful relationship in... more>> full bloom as it continues to develop and each partner has their own sides of an adventure is so refreshing and enjoyable.

Entertaining novel. Yu Hua, a super strong being, has lived for many years and just wants a peaceful life with the person he loves. You Zhengping, is carefree and naive compared to Yu Hua. They are deeply in love with each other but each have kept their real identities a secret.

The story follows how their secret identities are discovered by the other. Also the comedy of how Yu Hua turns the unfortunate ferocious Destroyers into his "s*aves." Hahaha! There are other cute plot points so it's a worthy read.

Super good read! The MC is several thousand years old, very powerful, good at manipulating people, and rather obsessive towards his husband.

Romance: mainly the perpetuation of the existing relationship since they're already married.

I found the first section of the novel (before their secret identities were revealed to each other) more enjoyable than the later parts since it had more funny moments.

One of the best novels with a system. I especially liked the beginning. It was hilarious and I like how the MCs interact as a couple. Their relationship is more realistic than most novels of this kind.

But, I don't really recall a novel like this. It's unique. If I really have to think about it, when it comes to the concept, it's a bit similar to Quickly wear the face of a devil. But it has a different take on the whole idea. While reading the novel, you can't really... more>> make this connection because they are so different.

Both MC and ML have 3D personalities potential but because of the execution, they come across as idealistic gary stues. They have all the potential to be memorable characters in my book but it didn't really happen.

I think my favorite characters are Luo Hai, Lian Yufen and JunJun. I just feel like their stories connected are more compelling and realistic. I like how all the lose ends are tied up in the end.

The reason why I only rated it 4 is because I didn't really feel much up and downs in emotions while reading. I didn't laugh hysterically or cried my heart out. There are only occasional laughter and a few tears.

Overall it's a good novel. I just don't see it as something I'll remember for a long time. <<less
