I don't know why this novel isn't rated more highly - it's a decent entertainment novel. It doesn't concentrate on the MC and ML all the time, but if you're here for just romance, you should pick a different read.

Quick translation but pretty confusing to read. Still better than no translation though lol.

The novel is about an agent, Shen Huai (that just lost one of his artist) and his new artist, Ye Cang. A famous ghost followed Shen Huai when he wanted to visit Ye Cang. Sadly, Ye Cang attempted su*cide. It succeeded and the ghost went inside the empty body. Now, Lu Yang; the music legend, resided in the body of Ye Cang.

Sooo good. The story mainly focuses on how the different characters move on from their past into their bright future but also not forgeting about the romance between the MC Shen Huai and ML Ye Cang/Lu Huan. To be honest, it's a pity that they were not able to keep their original names but to be alive again is already a good thing soooo isokay.

I love the back stories of all the main and side characters. Usually a novel will focus mainly on the 2 main characters but this novel... more>> had many side character moments. It made the novel more interesting and exciting. I particularly love Gu Mei/Chu Mei Bo and Du Yiping (?).

Just had a few thoughts after this novel ended.

- what happened to Fu Cheng (prev movie emperor)

- why didn't Shen Heng appear again ; ;

- why is there no wedding ceremony 😭 <<less

It's definitely one of the best BL novels I've read, especially for fans of stories with an entertainment and romance theme. All the characters, even the supporting ones, feel tangible and well-developed. I especially love that all the artists signed or are directly related to the MC. The ML and MC's journey is captivating; while they don't get together right away, the romance and character growth between them is palpable. I loved their natural attraction from the start, which made the romance element feel strong. I always love it when there's many dynamic characters to read about in the book. I was captivated every characters' stories and their love for film even made me feel like I'd want to take part in it. The MC and ML's relationship was okay. Not over the top or intense as I always want them to be, but it was tastefully done.

it was quite the fun read.

I would say that the romance wasn't like the majority of it but it was somewhat satisfactory. It showed how couples are kinda like, busy with work and sometimes not having match up free time and I kinda liked it.

the ghost were so f*cking funny LMAOOOO.

The story 4 stars.

The translation 3.5 stars.

The story was really good and you could get hooked and have a binge fest until you finished it. It was a totally new take on the reborn category and it had a lot of ups and downs and squeals of excitement along with sobs of sadness. But only 4 stats because there were some instances were the writing felt a little repetitive but maybe because it's translated so it could be fine in its original language.

The translation was okay you could follow the... more>> story most of the time but I did get confused by the wording in some parts. I think the translator might have given up on those parts. I would suggest foot notes to the translator because there were some places were it was unclear what the quoted comments were saying and I know that's part of the language barrier but an explanation would be nice. The tl towards the end was getting better though.

Over all a good read and would definitely recommend. <<less

I love showbiz novels and bl is a plus.....i was really enjoying in the starting but the more I read... more and more side characters were added

Firstly I was like ok lets read it but then interaction between ML and MC were reduced greatly and not to mention very very slow ~~ romance....... well im not against slow romance but side characters were just too irritating.....i read it upto ch 80 but I just dropped it..... qell its just my opinion but if MC and ML were a lille more... more>> intimate with each other I could have read it more but nah

This is a good read. Totally not the typical dog blood drama entertainment circle style novel nor is it a heavy fluffy yaoi.

The novel focuses on the entertainment industry and the decline of it (in the novels world) and how the characters slowly transform it. It relates to the various artists' passion towards their art which is a different take on this genre. The novel started out a wee bit typical (in the first arc only I swear) and this is where the relationship development between the MC and the... more>> ML happens. But later in the story, it will slowly tell the stories of the other characters some of which are heartbreaking T^T.

The novel can be divide it into arcs based on the artists:

Lu Yang/ Ye Cheng (ML) - revolutionary rock singer from 30 years ago - singing arc

Gu Mei/ Chu Mei Bo - famed actress from the Republic of China - acting arc

Du Yiping/ Guo Wenyuan - famed actor from 3 years ago -acting arc

Song Yimian - newbie artist - acting arc

Tang Wanjun/ Xia Shiyu - Queen of love song from more than 30 years ago -idol arc

Pei Ran - legendary Kung Fu master/ Hong Kong actor from more than 30 years ago - directing arc

All of them are super good though I would say that the first 2 artists had more 'screen time'/ depth in their stories.

The MC is the cold protagonist type while the ML is the fun straightforward and sharp tongue type but there is not much character development though so can't say much about them. The dog food fed is not as much as some entertainment circle yaoi novels but there is still some.

Overall if you are into OP protagonist (and side characters) and the entertainment circle and want a fresh take on it this would definitely be a good one for you! <<less

This novel became too Mary Sue for me, all the reborn artists are amazing, the ML and MC are in love and no tension in their relationship, money fixes everything

I feel like the author couldn't decide between transmigration, horror, business intrigue, or slice of life and pushed all of them together in no particular order. There was an underlying theme of fixing/reviving China's performing arts industries, which I personally did not find compelling enough to continue with the novel

Another issue (besides boredom) I had with the novel were plot points... more>> being introduced then dropped, then picked up dozens of chapters later only to be quickly resolved in a few sentences and dropped again

The school girl who was terrified by ML leads to plot about dark shadows attacking MC. ML creates a golden psychic shield which protects MC and a Monk seals MC's 3rd eye, and that's it

This plot point ended just like that

And after the ML and MC fall in love the ML disappears for long periods of time and then is back for a few sentences before he disappears again

In chapter 150 the MC realizes he hasn't seen the seen the ML for a long time. The ML doesn't actually appear for three more chapters

Its strange for a romance to not mention the ML for several chapters and have the ML be an afterthought to the MC

I'm not a critic but I want to express my opinion about this story.

This story is very heartwarming, it is well written. It not only centered around the protagonist but also revolved other interesting characters. Sometimes it is easy to get bored when you read stories that speaks for the protagonist in every chapters. The protagonist portrayed in this story are not arrogant or senseless when compared to other romance stories, they have their own principle and reasons, the story is logical (in my standards). A very, very beautiful story.

But initial impressions; I thought it was too slow-paced. If I had to explain it, it's because of it's writing. It doesn't immerse you in any one's perspective. BUT it effectively tells a good story without doing so, which just reinforces the behavior our protagonist who is an talent agent. He's observing the growth of passionate ghosts who have a second chance at life.

The best parts of this story relies on Slice of Life plus the gritty aspects of life, it's lack of couple dynamics (still... more>> sweet 1v1 HE) and the variety in the cast. This is one of the best found families I've read. Yes, even more so than TCF & ORV. If you're unaware of those titles, don't worry, the feeling of this story is entirely different from this one. This story lacks angst but doesn't lack a variety of decent antagonists and obstacles to overcome.

I'm left without a rating because by the end of it, I highly respect the characters and the author also respects the time of the readers. 188 chapters felt long. But I have some misgivings, THIS, this story all feels like a wonderful dream. The story is sound and well-rounded, but there still is this nonsensical nature and righteousness that I got from it that's hard to fathom.

If you are perhaps coming back from finishing this novel, while it lacks the Entertainment circle theme, "Guide to Fail at Online Dating" does give off a similar atmosphere. <<less

Truly novel experience reading this Novel. A story where we are shown multiple characters reaching their dreams and still be able to do what they want and make people proud and excited. Yes, there's Multiple Important Characters, WITHOUT any Side CP exist! This is Rare If not for the fact this kind of thing almost Non-exist! (Because having Multiple Important Characters as if they all THE Protagonist only happen in Non-romance series OR Romance with the one or many Side CP)

Truly Spectacular and Fulfilling and Satisfying Story. It wasn't... more>> Perfect, but it's somewhat Perfect in its own way.

And even quite many Faceslapping and Karma moments. And the Supernatural feels that explained well and with reasonable good characters, is Good!

I'm Very Happy and This Novel is So much better than any Expectations I had before. Yes, I'm Truly Loving it Dearly! <<less

A very good entertainment circle story from acting to music, a good range of characters and a few face slapping.

It's not dramatic (a shed just a little tear), no dog blood, it's not as comedic as the description makes it, but is still a little funny and a little sweet like a slice of life.

I almost didn't read it because I like romance and there's no romance tag here, but we do have romance here and worked really well, the MC fell in love but it didn't consumed his whole... more>> life, they both had their work and the things they were fighting for.

For me the only downside is that all reborn artists are interesting and the story even though didn't feel hushed could have 300 chapters. <<less

The plot was interesting but the writing style kinda falls flat. I don't know, but it felt like there was something missing while I was reading it, like there's not enough depth or emotions in the writing.

Not gonna rate it yet since I haven't finished it but so far the writing style is—bland, for the lack of a better word.

Finally finished!

If you're looking for heavy romance or pure romance then ots not for you. Though the romance aspect is not neglected as well. It's mainly focused on the reborn artists and their achievement is where the story ends. And the romance is in between in the whole process.

But I was expecting at least one side couple but sadly there's none. And it's more sad for me cuz I had some ghost ships like: President Gao with Uncle Shen, Pei Ran with Elder Deciple Brother and Sister Mei with Song... more>> Yimian...!!!

Though this does have some romance in it, I wouldn't specifically say that this is a romance novel.

Rather, this story revolves around six artists as Shen Huai helps them fulfill their ambitions and dreams. It details the events of around two years in the entertainment circle in a rather charming way.

I rather like some of the themes discussed in the novel and I really love the characters. I was very pleasantly surprised to see such strong female characters, especially in a BL novel. I adored the character growth that everyone... more>> went through.

Though it's probably true that the author would have benefited from an editor, and this novel really isn't perfect, it has so many strong points that I'm giving it five stars anyways. <<less

How to be an agent for ghosts...

Showbiz, drama, & ghosts. MC's dwindling luck with his artists have come to an end. With his yin-yang eyes, he's able to see ghosts, namely ones that have a lingering obsession for their former passions. From musical geniuses to movie emperors/empresses, this novel manages to spread its roots to various branches of the entertainment industry. I definitely like how it's different from other showbiz stories. It's not so much revenge-seeking nor face-slaps; it focuses on passion that transcends time- these spirits carry so much... more>> longing and love for their careers that they manage to achieve a "rebirth" in order to sate their desires. Although the plot is fairly interesting, I think its execution was mediocre. The characters are all diverse, but I don't think they were given much depth. The two main characters are cute & I will applaud them for making me confused on the matter of who was gong & shou, but I felt that their romance fell flat on the latter end. The extras were cute though & I believe that saved them. Overall, a good read if you're looking for a showbiz story with a unique flair. <<less

First I want to thank the translator. The translation is so good.

Honestly, I didnt have that much expectation for this. I thought it will be a typical BL story. But boy am I so wrong. The story is fantastic, the mixture or rebirth, supernatural and showbiz is amazing. Personally I dont like stories with shoebiz in it since itgot very cliche. But man, this one is like the brightest star in the universe.

I cant compliment this story enough. I promise you, you will not be disappointed when you read it.... more>> It has a very good plot, good worldbuiling, good characters. Anything you can ask for. Pls give it a try. I promise you, you will love it.
