My Husband is Suffering from a Terminal Illness

Description

Xie Yang struggled in the post-apocalyptic world for many years until he was too tired to go on. Then he transmigrated into a young adult entertainment circle novel where the protagonists have easy, sweet, and satisfying lives.

The male protagonist of the novel is not just handsome and smart, he’s also reborn. The female protagonist of the novel is not only beautiful and works hard towards her dreams, she also has a cheat in her hands.

There’s a lot of male and female supporting roles, each having pretty face, nice figures and someone strong behind them. Get into any one of their bodies, and he could close his eyes and just enjoy life. But he didn’t. Instead he transmigrated into a young idol secretly married to the biggest villain of all — the male protagonist’s maternal uncle.

His title is husband but it’s more like a nurse. Because this novel’s biggest villain is a terminally ill patient who is gloomy and sick in the head (actually sick). Their marriage was to counter the bad luck (illness).

Xie Yang: Who cares if you’re the male lead, female lead, male supporting, female supporting, villain or protagonist. Get in the way of my comfortable life and you’ll die (:

The interactions between the MC and ML are really cute [I really loveeee the ML but the plot regarding the entertainment circle became a bit repetitive at some point. Like for example,

I reaaally want to see how the relationship of this two will go because it's really cute and I love slow burn. So far that's the only positive thing about this novel, the love progress between our MC and ml..

But the thing about the plot is ticking me off. As I've said it's too repetitive to the point that it gets boring.

I guess I'll leave it here. Maybe I'll come back and continue if my eagerness to know how the MC and ML will go is higher than my irritation over the repetitive plot. <<less

Ngl, I was expecting a more action-packed story where the MC is like drag-people-into-a-back-alley-and-beat-them-up kind of nasty, territorial, eats like a prisoner, and traumatized.

Kinda hoped he'd deck one of the celebrities in the face at one point.

It was really good tho. The ML and MC were cute. No rap3y vibes.

the singing and the rapping and stuff were kinda cringe at first but then they turned out not bad after I get used to it

also the part about FL's system and why he transmigrated felt so insignificant despite being a sort of climax conclusion I can't remember what was written. It was pretty anti-climatic

It's average. The plot is meh, side characters are unremarkable, MC is a jack of all trades, the whole entertainment world seems to revolve around MC, supposedly funny netizen comments... Same old, same old. I just read it since I got nothing better to do and dropped it when MC and ML started dating for real.

Not a bad read to past time but you can find many better options than this one tbh lol. I've been reading "Don't pick up bf's from the tr*sh bin" for example, the name is... more>> quite sus but it's actually pretty good. <<less

MC is a mary sue. A huge one. He has so many unexplained skills. Alone, these skills are acceptable. Together, it's just unreasonable.

Some serious topics are skipping over like nothing. For example, the MC's father sold him. This is unacceptable, but the father is let off. The MC's father is even supported by the ML. It's disgusting.

Half this story is just the netizens saying how cool the MC is.

MC becomes a CEO of his own entertainment company. He says it's much more calming to be a boss. But, he keeps... more>> doing all the things an idol will do: acting in movies, singing in concerts, modelling, etc..

Overall, I read this book just to pass time. I didn't enjoy this book. <<less

A cute and fluffy story! Although it is a transmigration story with a system, it is more focused on the story and romance instead of the systems. An interesting read regardless, the interaction between the MC and ML is pretty cute. This is the kind of novel you would read when you just want a light-hearted story, especially when you just finished a novel full of angst and dog blood or before you read another novel that is full of angst or dog blood. But this is the kind of... more>> story that I would not re-read, once is enough. :)

🟢 Suitable for those who enjoy fluff and light-hearted stories, slow romance, plot development, cute dynamics between MC & ML.

🔴 Not suitable for those who think there are angst, dog blood, and misunderstandings. Also not suitable for those who want to know more of the character's back story and deep plot (although there is plot development, it doesn't go into it very deeply). <<less

I can't get the words out of my mouth, but in a lack of better words,

THIS NOVEL WAS SO CUTE

I LIKE THE PROTAGONIST! I LIKE THE MALE LEAD! THE SIDE CHARACTERS ARE CUTE! AND THE VILLAINS ARE TERRIBLE!

The story is quite nice! There's a lot of fluff! And when the ML is involved it becomes cuter! The angst in the novel is there, but conflicts don't last long! Very good if you don't like excessive angst! Also,

This story made me write a review after 3 months.... Yes! It’s that good

The ML is the cutest. Sugar jar mouse...I ALWAYS had a smile when reading MC and ML’s interactions. Seriously, for me the ML is the highlight of this novel. After reading about all the cold, domineering and s*um cliches that are MLs, Ah Xing was a sweet surprise. I am a ML fan.

MC was cool if a little OP. I liked that there was no typical family drama. No stepmothers and step siblings used as fillers. All... more>> the family disputes happen “offscreen” and are only mentioned in passing.

MC is too OP though. It’s a little hard to believe.

I loved, loved, loved the ML and MC dialogues. Hahaha. So fun to read. I liked the fact that MC is such a go getter. Lol

A must read. <<less

  • * The best part of this story is obviously the relationship of the two main characters.. Their relationship has both the matured and childish flavour.. I'll recommend it just for their relation and the male lead and also the ending.. The ending is so beautiful that it makes it worth reading..

    Pros --

    * Male lead Qiu Xing is totally a tsundere, but not in a boring way.. Instead his shy childlike approach is pretty refreshing..
  • He is one of the best gong I've ever read.. Not lustful, not unnecessarily cruel, not an a**hole.. He doesn't disregard lives of other people unrelated to him like tr*sh either.. A considerate CEO like him is very very hard to come by in the novel world..
  • The way he always touches Xie Yang's head, like coaxing a child, instead of doing smutty things, brings the romance to a different height..
  • When Xie Yang used his power to treat Qiu Xing or gave him hope for life, it just melts the heart..
Cons --

* Protagonist Xie Yang is smart and capable, but too overpowered.. There's basically almost no struggle.. Everything just went his way which made the middle part of the story really boring..

    • He was a good composer in his past life, but not a singer.. Yet he sang like a nightingale after transmigrating into a body with good voice.. And without any practice..
    • The owner of the current body was a very bad actor, whereas Xie Yang himself never acted or had any type of training before.. But he became an astounding actor just like that.. When he got the cinema role at chapter 70 or so, I really lost a lot of interest..
    • An average guy suddenly changed into a genius musician overnight, opened a company without any prior business knowledge.. But no one thought it strange as it typically happens in most of the transmigration or reincarnation stories..
    • And there's those lazy netizens again who have nothing to do all day long except wasting their life on some celebrities.. Most of the times it was too annoying to read..
    • There's is another thing.. The way Qiu Xing published his relationship with Xie Yang is s*upid.. Making his illness public, giving his rivals the chance to attack, also the will that'll attract hatred towards Xie Yang and harm him.. It's totally unbelievable that a veteran businessman like Qiu Xing wouldn't think of these consequences..
    • The middle part of this story is too boring to keep the interest up anymore..
* Last forty or so chapters made the story alive again.. Specially, the ending is too good, totally my taste.. I love how the comparison between the two photographs is used to finish the novel.. Therefore, final rating : 4/ 5

I'm really enjoying this one so far!

As far as I can see, the novel focuses on two major parts: MC's career and his relationship with ML.

MC's career is pretty smooth and amazing, as is typical of face-slapping protagonist novels, but it doesn't detract from enjoyment (at least, not from mine). It's satisfying to see him counter the FL (the original main character of the novel world) and her cheats, but it might feel repetitive along side the face-slapping. All in all, the MC just dominates.

I feel like MC's relationship with... more>> the ML is pretty unique. ML's behavior results from the fact that he has a terminal illness and knows he won't have long to live, which contrasts MC's desire for him to keep fighting for survival. (I also love tsunderes so that's a plus). It's vaguely reminiscent of LWJ's and WWX's relationship when they were learning in Cloud Recesses, but it's still different. I like the development of the relationship, which takes a good portion of the novel, and the dog food that comes after. It's not perfect, they know this, but they're working on it. They're only human beings, after all.

(I don't know how to put their relationship into words but I really like it.)

It may seem like at first MC's background as an apocalypse survivor doesn't have much role in the story now, but it does and will. He's a lot more straightforward and shameless, haha. Another thing will come along later in the story that's related to ML's health and the FL's abilities, which is kind of interesting. But due to the nature of it, it's really only focused on those two things.

Overall, I really like the novel. If you like showbiz, face-slapping, and interesting relationships, this is the novel for you!

Edit: I finished and I still love it. 😭 The antagonists were neatly wrapped up and dealt with, and the ML and MC got their happy ending. ❤️ I wanted a little bit more with the IUD members, but they only had occasional appearances. <<less

I am currently reading this novel via MTL as well as through Chrysanthemum Garden.

I agree with the majority of the reviews here.

This story is quite fluffy and there is no long term misunderstandings between the two MLs.

... more>> The MC is a transmigrator and the ML has rich not only in status but in his ailments. Both have gone through hardships prior to their meeting and through the MC's initiative the ML became more optimistic about life too.

It is definitely a novel I will be re-reading again once all the translated chapters are out! <<less

This is an engaging transmigration series where a former golden composer survived in an apocalyptic world with an ability but then transmigrated to a modern setting in a book he read. The protagonist from the novel has mind-controlling abilities from a system, and the MC has his own special ability as well. The ML has brain cancer (although this may be a mistranslation--it sounds like a fatal benign tumor rather than a malignant one since no concern about it spreading or the ML doing chemo has been mentioned), which puts... more>> him in great danger if he's exposed to the protagonist's mind-controlling abilities. The protagonist wants to become a superstar, and the MC wants to protect his husband, so they naturally come to odds.

The protagonist relies heavily on her system without having the experience to really use great skills on her own, so she has depended on manipulating people with her ability instead of developing a good reputation or working on her strong points. She tries hard to pull strings to give her career and popularity a boost, but she is also petty and does morally questionable things in the background to bring her rivals down. The ML is a stick-in the mud who is obstinate about only having a landlord-renter relationship with the MC, but he obviously has feelings for the MC and refuses to take the step of admitting them. He is OP and can make anything happen or disappear.

The MC is OP in terms of running a company and playing music, but these abilities all come from his previous life experience. The series does not mention how old he is when he transmigrates, but he has clearly had a long and successful music career. Since he already has a lifetime of experience doing this work, it makes sense that he does it better than his so-called peers. His shock in adapting to this new world is believable, and he immediately makes efforts to separate his current self from his host's previous relationships. He breaks off his relationship with the host's family, stays away from his school, and breaks up the boy group he's currently with. He only met his group members recently, so he cooperates with them while keeping a distance. He only met his husband briefly before as well. Although most people notice his personality is different than described or appears to have changed, he manages to handle it in a way they don't know him well enough to investigate too thoroughly. Who would think he replaced the original smothered MC anyway?

I love the business focus and the hard work the MC does in his career, especially at the beginning of the series.

There are some odd things and occasional inconsistencies and plot, holes, though. The biggest question I had at the beginning of the series is why the group would choose a name like IUD. Yes, the boys' group has the abbreviation for intrauterine device. Like... why? There isn't any explanation about how this name connects to pregnancy and their readers, so I'm guessing the author was just being silly. The ML is only in his twenties, so why is his mother so weak and elderly to live in a nursing home and be suggested to have dementia? She should be in her forties or fifties unless she gave birth late. Why does the ML despise his own family so much and cooperate with the MC's insane requests right after they meet each other? Why does the ML give into all of the MC's requests so easily, even though they hardly know each other? If the ML really has a malignant (malignant = cancerous) tumor, then why isn't he getting chemo or radiation for it? Why is it treated like a growing benign tumor instead? Why does the protagonist do something as dumb as trying to drag the MC's reputation down, even when she knows this will only cause her harm? If the MC and ML have the power to push people down, then why can't other companies or powerful people do the same?

The emotional depth of the MC is limited to his protection of his husband and the music he creates. The descriptions of these are good and bring the story to life. He otherwise comes off as quite heartless.

Overall, I enjoy reading this series and am looking forward to more. It just has some odd inconsistencies and too much of an OP couple. The MC doesn't struggle hard for much, and this story could improve with more flashbacks and character depth to show how the MC developed to how he is today. <<less

(I don't know why I can't rate with stars but a 5/5 for sure)

Now this is what I'm talking about when I say I want enemies to lovers, love hate relationship trope.

I absolutely adored the relationship between MC & ML. It was natural & grew very realistically. It made me laugh many times & I loved the banter. There was a thin line between borderline dislike & fluffiness, it's so cute.

I think other comments that rated lowly because their dislike against money type relationship the MC has with... more>> ML don't understand that it's not realistic to fall in love & instantly connect. Their relationship is shallow at first, but developed in such a well written & funny way I can't see why it's disliked because we clearly see how a relationship connection is made. There is character & there are developments. MC also has a money type relationship with other characters, but that's how he is. He has an objective & a plan of action. He's a cruel ruthless MC as promised! I love smart scheming MC, watching the plans unfold & how he uses his resources is so fun. No complaints here.

The side characters are hilarious too & they enhance the comedic levels between the MC & ML. Even in serious situations, you can laugh. I'm still a bit early in this novel but I'm definitely looking forward to future chapters! <<less

Definitely a recommend.

Personally I found the MC to be a bit callous, but some people are like that. He also came out of the apocalypse? That bit seemed pretty random to me. The ML was hilariously awkward, a total tsundere. I loved it.

I appreciate that there is push and pull from both sides of the relationship, and that though their relationship started dubiously and on uneven footing, boundaries were kept.

A solid read.

From how realistic the MC personality is considering where he originally came from the lovely and amusing moments between MC and ML.

nahh I love this so much. As someone who finished reading this, all I can say is, it's sucha satisfying read. It's not boring and I freaking love the relationship of the MC and ML. The plot is rich and have a very good pacing for each parts, especially the obstacles they encounter.

finally, the ending is so good, it's my first time for a while having to read a story that would make me feel this touching feeling on the ending.

i'll gonna miss them so much, love themmm. ♡

I love the MC and ML. I love how the MC pushes ML to be more honest and use his words instead of MC always guessing and reading his emotions. I always hate misunderstanding or lack of communication on couples so I'm really glad MC and ML were very open to each other.

"If you have ulterior motives then you're purpose must be Rongding. If that's the case, I have to say that I'm very glad to have Rongding."

— ML who's willing to give his whole heart and company to MC.... more>> What a henpecked husband.

Perfect amount of fluff, tension, and humor. The plot is also really entertaining. The flow of the story was really nice, I didn't get bored at all and finished the novel in one go.

I love MC's revenge and not letting people bully him or the ML. He is pretty clever and OP. He can pretty much do anything from music to acting which I really don't mind. I also love how ML doesn't intervene much on how MC works or takes revenge (unless it gets dangerous of course and oh he throws momey left and right for him as well). They are a very cute and stable couple.

Thank you for the translators and editors for their hard work! <<less

Uhh.. it's fine. Another mindless indulgence novel, nothing much to see here.

MC transmigrated from the apocalypse into a wealthy little star. Unfortunately his life's been sold, and he kind of decides to f*ck up the story by using the butterfly effect as best as possible.

ML is a cold, grumpy and (old?) boss of a huge company. Doesn't look particularly good (until he gets healthier), doesn't have much time, he's kind of bossy too. Eh, you grow fond of his attitude (and hidden gestures of affection).

Half the story is MC face... more>> slapping random mobs, the other half is the romance. Let's focus on the romance, since the plot is a bit stale. (Not much mention of the previous post apoc life except his musical talents!)

Uh the romance. Right. That's a thing. Uhh.. so.... Yeah. MC falls in love at some point and spends the next 30 chapters trying to seduce (?) ML into confessing... Because... Why??? It's such a bottom mentality 😭 He's a sassy brat until he basically forces the ML to confess. As soon as they're together, everything goes down, down...

Aye, I dropped the novel after they got together, sue me. It's one of those that goes downhill once the main cp gets together 😊 <<less

Honestly I love this story, it wasn't boring at all to me. I usually take small breaks while reading longer stories but this one I had no problem with. It might not be perfect but it is warm, when you start to see the characters change and learn more what they want to do with their life it gives you a very nice feeling.

If you want something that can make you frown about the 'bad' people yet smile happily at the next second when you see MC and ML work... more>> together this is definetely recommended. <<less
